Because they are not biologically related. It's that simple. They have to genetically share at least one parent to qualify as being biologically related, which they do not...

　Okay, I am not a big shipper, and I normally don't care if people hate a ship or love a ship so long as they are not being unreasonable about it. So then, whats' this all about? Well I was looking through some old archives of mine when I came across a screencap I took of a particular artist's stamps some time way back.

　Her Sonic Fc was "Princess Mary Sue The Hedgehog", You know, another Sonadow fankid looking Princess with uber powers, uber sexualness, and two lovers plus extra ones on the side--you know, THAT kind of character. Well, little Miss Artist used to say she supported all her friends ships but it was a weird thing to claim when she had a whole section on her profile dedicated to anti-pairing stamps. Basically all the guy hedgehogs were her boyfriends, so all the stamps were anti-X and Rouge or anti-X and Sally or Anti-X and Amy, and the only thing missing was anti-X and Fiona. Typical. But the one that caught my attention was an Anti-ShadowxMaria stamp that claimed the ship was incest and I stupidly agreed with out much thought.

But then came a day, not too long ago, when I looked at that screencap again and realized the reasoning behind it being on her profile was hypocritical. Not only are Shadow and Maria not actually brother and sister at all But little Miss Artist had a brother-sister incest kink. How do I know?

Well, she drew herself insert--she had two as a matter of fact--always all over her online brother's (personififed as hedgehogs) in revealing clothing. And she also drew her character--who was married to Shadow, about to get jiggy with it and refering to each other as brother and sister.

　So to say she hated the Shadow X Maria shipping because of the incestous angle was total bunk. And trust me on this--she was not a nice person. She was a very unappreciative, very immature, self centered user who traced art if I had to describe her in one sentence--and she was a total hypocrite.

　So if you like the ShadowxMaria pairing, good for you. If you hate it, good for you. But don't be that person who uses a bogus reason to hate a pairing just because you like your own; Just don't be a hypocrite about it.



ShadowxMaria is technically not incest.

If you like the ship, I don't care.

If you hate the ship, I still don't care.

This picture (in the form of a mock stamp) wasn't about being for or against the pairing, it was a point against hypocrissy. Whatever you like or don't like just don't be a huge phoney about the reasoning. Don't say you hate the pairing because it seems like incest then have a bunch of incesty themed art in your gallery. That makes you a phoney--no one likes a hypocritical phoney.
