[*]Once a battle starts, we suggest that babysitters buy hatchlings close to rollover age to sell to trainers in the [url=http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/fd6/2143840]Dom Fodder Market thread[/url]. Trainers, also consider making arrangements with the babysitters who held your leveled dragons to store hatchlings you buy.


[*]For those trainers uncomfortable with making storage arrangements, you still have the option to ping me (JinxMoonstone) to assist. However, in most cases, trainers will make arrangements directly with babysitters.


[*]Trainers - please remember to claim all dragons in the first day or two of the battle, unless other arrangements have been made with your sitter. We also highly suggest putting your user names in the dragons' bios to prevent any problems with the dragons being returned.


[*]Babysitters are eligible for one in-flight raffle ticket per dragon stored (when in-flight raffles are held). Raffles will likely only run during contested pushes or major events (Crystalline Gala, etc). There will be a form available for babysitters to submit their own entries.

[b]Instructions for Babysitters:[/b]

1. Update the babysitter sheet with the number of spaces you are offering (link below) OR ping me in the thread with how many number of spaces you have available to store dragons now.

2. Please do NOT volunteer spaces if you have nests to hatch/plan on buying dragons between now and the start of the battle.
[i]- Volunteer the number you know you'll keep open for storage, not the total number of spaces you have.[/i]

3. You will be pinged in this thread when a trainer is going to send you dragon to hold/when I assign dragons for storage. [u]Once you receive the CR, immediately send a CR back to the trainer[/u].

4. Please keep the dragons in a safe place in your lair: do not exalt dragons you are holding or send them to another flight to be exalted. Please make sure you have enough room to store the dragons until the battle starts - you should not be asking trainers to take back dragons early.

[s]At this point, we're asking that dragons be trained to 6 or higher due to space. If that changes closer to the push, I'll update the announcements section.[/s]

1. If you want to match yourself to a babysitter, check the above spreadsheet to see who has space. Ping the babysitter with the number of dragons being sent and their levels.

1a. Ping me (@JinxMoonstone) with the number of dragons you need stored and their levels so I can match you with a sitter. [i](See example below.) Please note, there may be some delays, depending on my schedule, if you choose this method.[/i]

2. If you want me to match you with a babysitter, I will ping you and the assigned babysitter. You can then send the CR(s). If you choose #1 above, you can immediately send the CRs to the babysitter with food so they can feed their visitors.

- [i]I also highly recommend putting your user name in the dragon's bio to prevent any confusion/mix ups.[/i]


[center]Dragons lose 3 energy per day; here's an estimate of how much food you should send:
- 4 weeks = 84 food points per dragon
- 3 weeks = 63 food points per dragon
- 2 weeks = 42 food points per dragon
- 1 week = 21 food points per dragon [/center]

[i]Babysitters are not responsible for determing overcompensation with food points, returning any extra, or tracking the amount of food sent for future use. Food items should be sent at the same time as the CRs.[/i]

4. If the babysitter doesn't accept the CR within 24 hours, please ping me (JinxMoonstone) so the dragons can be reassigned. (Please be patient due to different time zones and schedules.)

5. The babysitter should send the CR back immediately - if not, ping them and/or me requesting that they send the CRs. If you run into any other problems, please let me know.

6. Please accept and exalt the dragons near the beginning of the push. Babysitters may exalt unclaimed dragons on the last day of the battle.

All babysitters have the right to decline storing dragons if the trainer has not followed the instructions.

COLD STORAGE FAQ



What is Cold Storage?

Cold Storage is a babysitting service run during contested Dom pushes to match people with lair space with trainers who need to store leveled dragons. All dragons being held will be exalted during the next conquest push.

This gives us a jump start on Dom battles and helps trainers store more dragons than they could just using their own lairs. Plus, it's a way for other users (non-trainers) to get involved in Dom and help out Ice Flight! :-)

Cold Storage was first created for the Ice vs. Plague '15 battle and was open for Ice vs. Fire '15 and the Crystalline Gala '16 (a test "Lite" version) before this version was set up.

We have also added a worksheet for babysitters to list themselves during non-conquest pushes for trainers to use during profits pushes, etc. That spreadsheet will not be monitored and it is up to the trainers to make arrangements with the babysitters listed there. Babysitters should keep that sheet updated with their current information.

Why make babysitters sign up each time for storing dragons for contested pushes?

Ice had a babysitter list previously and it was always hopelessly out of date. By having new sign ups for each battle, we can make sure the babysitters are active, still in Ice, and the number of spaces offered are up to date. Also, while there are some users with space open all the time, many people will only want to volunteer space in preparation for battles. We'll see how this works and what improvements can continue to be made :-)

What happens if the trainer doesn’t accept the CR before the end of the Dom battle?

For dragons stored for contested pushes, if the trainer hasn't claimed their dragons by 23:30 FR on Saturday (the last day of the battle), exalt any dragon you are holding. Please send a PM to the trainer with the amount received from exalting the dragon. However, you can claim the dragon towards your Knight Badge in the Ice Armoury.

How much food should I send/how much will the dragon eat while its in my lair?

Dragons lose 3 energy per day (1 energy point every eight hours), so a stack or half stack of food should be enough (depends how many dragons you are sending/holding).

1 week = 21 food points
2 weeks = 42 food points
3 weeks = 63 food points
4 weeks = 84 food points

What if I don't need food as a babysitter?  [Contested Pushes, only]

It super overcomplicated things the first time we used Cold Storage, trying to figure who wanted food and what type was needed. It's also a fairness issue - some babysitters started putting "optional" because they didn't want to say that people had to send them something, even though they could use the food. Plus, we don't want trainers only picking people who said no to food and leaving the other people out. If the trainers were storing the dragons themselves, they'd have to feed them (and trainers have an easier time getting food since they are in the Coli earning the food for the dragon they are training).

So, during the storage period for contested battles, it's both fairer and easier to have all trainers send food to the babysitters holding their dragons. If you don't need the food sent to you, you can donate it to the Food Bank, sell it and send the proceeds to the Snow Bank, or donate it to the raffle for recycling.
