- How to Generate Stat Weights with SimC (by Marok):
- 1. Download the latest version of SimulationCraft here (I recommend downloading the latest nightly build [first link]): http://www.simulationcraft.org/download.html
- 2. Install the SimulationCraft AddOn: https://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/simulationcraft
- 3. Log in to your character, make sure you have all your proper gear equipped, and in chat type: /simc
- 4. Copy all of the text from the box that pops up and open SimulationCraft.
- 5. Go to the "Simulate" tab and paste that text into the window. At this point you should have something like this: https://i.imgur.com/NdsOlyJ.png
- 6. Go to the "Import" tab, open the "Sample Profiles" tab, and then double-click any entry of your spec under "T19". For example, because I'm simulating my Arms Warrior, I would double-click "Warrior_Arms_T19M.simc".
- 7. That will open a new tab under the "Simulate" tab. Under your newly opened tab, select and copy the entire APL (action priority list). It starts with "# This default action priority list is automatically created based on your character." and ends where you see the gear list.
- 8. In your original "Simulate!" tab, paste that APL inbetween your character info (generally ends with "artifact=") and your gear list. Here's an example of what your tab should look like at this point: http://pastebin.com/hdadzg6X
- 9. Go to the "Options" tab. Open the "Scaling" tab, check "Enable Scaling", and then check off all the stats that are relevant to you. As Arms, I would select: Strength, Crit, Haste, Mastery, and Versatility.
- 10. Go back to your original simulate tab and click "Simulate!" at the bottom right.
- 11. Once that simulation completes, a report will open up where you can see your generated stat weights (it also gives you a Pawn string you can import).
