  1. >To say that the two of you (or, at least Dash) get some odd looks as you make your way back through Ponyville would be an understatement.
  2. >Though it’s still relatively early in the morning there are enough ponies around that Dash can’t go more than a handful of steps without being stopped to ask if she’s alright.
  3. >Damn ponies and their good natured helpfulness.
  4. >Fortunately though you make it back to Twilight’s castle without incident.
  5. >Unfortunately, the extent of her ‘crazy healing magic’ is using telekinesis to apply the better part of her medicine cabinet to Dash’s wounds.
  6. >”And this stallion was able to do what WHAT with his stand?”
  7. >Dash sighs as Twilight seems to produce a quill and notepad from nowhere to take notes.
  8. >”I- we figured out he was able to reset the location of everything in a set radius.”
  9. >”Fascinating, the diversity in stand powers truly immense.”
  10. “It didn’t stop us from kicking his ass.”
  11. >Dash relays your comment, and Twilight just rolls her eyes.
  12. >”It’s just odd that you would meet him today, of the day after you gained your own stand.”
  13. >”It must be like Princess Luna said; Stand users attract other Stand users.”
  14. >Twilight purses her lips, clearly unhappy with such a simple answer.
  15. >”There must be more to it than that though…”
  16. >Dash offers her a shrug and a thought.
  17. >”Hey, we deal with big complicated problems all the time. Why can’t it be a simple answer for a change?”
  18. >Dash slides herself out of her seat, and in her haste knocks the open box of medical supplies off the table.
  19. >Acting almost unconsciously, you snap your hand out and grab the box in mid-air, before it has the chance to spill all over the floor.
  20. >”Huh. Nice catch Anon.”
  21. >You go place the box back on the table and notice Twilight staring at the (what would appear to her) floating medical kit before muttering a single word.
  22. >”Gravity…”
  23. >”What was that Twi.”
  24. >Dash’s voice seems to snap Twilight out of her state and the mare quickly turns around and heads for the door, notepad in tow.
  25. >”One moment, I need to write this down!”
  26. >You and Dash share a confused look, and follow Twilight, curious as to what she’s up to.
  27. >The two of you are lead to an adjacent room strewn with notes and papers and dominated by a large chalkboard that Twilight is frantically writing on.
  28. >You take a look at a small, nondescript journal on the nearby desk and see that it seems to describe a number of different stands, as well as a number of theories the writer seems to have about them.
  29. >”Twilight what are you doing?”
  30. >”Writing down my theory, what does it look like?”
  31. “A bunch of squiggles.”
  32. >Dash stifles a laugh, then goes ramrod stiff when Twilight spins around to face her.
  33. >”Rainbow Dash, you understand the theory of gravity, yes?”
  34. >Dahs shoots Twilight a look as if she just asked her what her name was.
  35. >”I’m a pegasus, of course I do.”
  36. >Rainbow clears her throat and casts her mind back to her school days as she puts on her best teacher voice;
  37. >”What goes up must come down.”
  38. >Twilight sighs, and with a flick of her horn conjures a magical grid into existence, with a large sphere suspended above it.
  39. >Before your eyes the sphere lowers itself into the grid, dragging it down around it and creating a divot in the middle.
  40. >”To put it in Laymares terms; The bigger the object the stronger its gravity. In our case a planet;”
  41. >Twilight stomps her hoof on the ground.
  42. >“-contains exerts more gravity than a pony. That’s why we stand on its surface.”
  43. >”So what does this have to do with stands? Are you saying that there’s one that can control gravity?!”
  44. >”It’s a possibility, but that’s not what I’m saying. I’m more interested in relating this to stand USERS.”
  45. >Twilight conjure another sphere in place above the grid.
  46. >”While as a rule smaller, or rather less dense objects are drawn towards denser ones when they’re caught in their field of gravity-”
  47. >Twilight drops the second sphere onto the grid, close to the first.
  48. >”Two objects of equal density will be mutually drawn towards each other.”
  49. >True to her word both spheres move; meeting in the middle.
  50. >”My theory, and it is just a theory, is that stands and stand users have their own, unique field of ‘gravity’ that like Princess Luna said; draws stand users towards each other.”
  51. >”That...actually sounds like it could be right.”
  52. >”Now I know the theory has several holes in it but- Wait what?”
  53. >”It’s a good theory Twi-”
  54. “I don’t see how it helps us but…”
  55. >”-, really, it is.”
  56. >Twilight goes to respond, only to stop and gasp as a light appears from behind Dash.
  57. >Or more accurately, from Dash’s behind.
  58. “Uh Rainbow, is your cutie mark supposed to be glowing?”
