  7. 1. DO NOT REACT – Anyone who panics and reacts is ultimately someone to be used for entertainment and future drama.
  8.  
  9. 2. Breathe—Take a deep breath and inhale through your nose, then exhale from your mouth
  10.  
  11. 3. Don’t defend yourself—telling everyone you’re not guilty or that that dox drop isn’t related to you makes you look guilty.
  12.  
  13. 4. Was it a threat or actual dox—did someone threaten you with dox or did they drop your dox?
  14.  
  15. 5. Identify the threat—what information do they have? How did they retrieve it?
  16.  
  17. 6. Act accordingly—what did the dox contain? Was it related to the offline or online realm? Identify your leak and seal it (by deleting, editing or removing content that you can).

  19. 7. Blur out your house on online maps.

  25. * Center squarely on house
  26. * Look for (?) question mark near bottom right. Be careful as it can be hidden sometimes.
  27. * Click it
  28. * Select "Report an image concern"
  29. * You'll get a pop-up or new tab with a panoramic image
  30. * Select your house, a little red square will appear then
  31. * Voice your privacy concern, stating vandalism and potential break-ins by criminal elements.
  32. * Fill out the rest of the form + Captcha, wait
  33. * Save ticket (#) Number

  36. * Go to Google Maps and type in your address
  37. * Bring up the street view of your property
  38. * Look to the bottom right hand corner of the screen you should see an Icon Labeled: “report a problem.”
  39. * Click on “report a problem.”
  40. * You will get a page labeled “report inappropriate street view.”
  41. * Look for the words “Privacy Concerns” and click on them.
  42. * If you want your house blurred, click on “my house.” Then choose the option: “I have a picture of my house and would like it blurred.”
  43. * Adjust the image and show Google which part of the photo needs blurred.
  44. * Type the verification code at the bottom of the page into the box provided and click submit.
  45. * Check back in a few days to see if the image has been blurred.

  49. * Drag the gray icon that resembles a person (top-right) to your street. (If it won’t drag, then your street has not been photographed for Yahoo.)
  50. * Click on “report image” at the bottom-left of the screen. It will take you to a different website.
  51. * Click on “request blurring,” and follow the directions.

  53. 8. Opt out of the commonly used people search engines and databases—this will help you remove some of the potential leaks.

  71. • You’ll find a page or pages containing Names, addresses and phone numbers.
  72. • Find yours; take note of the number next to it.
  73. • Go to the contact page.
  74. • Scroll down for the opt-out\removal form.
  75. • Follow the directions.
  76. • Make sure to provide the information you want deleted in the ‘Comments’ box.

  83. • On the profile page, click the down-arrow to the right of the name and select ‘Control Information’.

  85. • Here you can choose to remove all information, or to delete specific records.
  86. • Confirm your real name matches your account and profile name.
  87. • Enter your cellular phone to receive a verification code.
  88. • Once the code has been entered, the profile will be private.

  103. • Search your First, middle and last name.
  104. • Find your profile/listing by go to the bottom of the page and select ‘open advance filter’.
  105. • Fill out your information.
  106. • Find your profile/listing, copy the link (note: Right click + copy link to have a ‘Clean link’ copied).
  107. • Go to the Opt out link.
  108. • Follow instructions to opt-out.
  109. • Repeat for each individual in house.
  110. • Hint: You’ll need a different e-mail address after so many removals.
  111. • Hint: You may have multiple profiles/links due to previous addresses.
  112. • Hint: Make sure HTTPs is not at the start of the link, if it is just remove the 'S'.

  114. 9. Change your phones’ voice messages to the default robotic one—this is to prevent them from confirming if it’s your number or not.
  115.  
  116. 10. Never answer the phone for anyone you don’t recognize—Names and phone numbers should always be scrutinized before picking up.

  118. 11. Get your mail ASAP—the longer you leave your it in the mailbox, the sooner someone may take it.
  119.  
  120. 12. Don't delete asks/PMs/fan mail/chat requests that contain threats or anything of a similar violent nature—these can be used as evidence in case of any legal actions taken.

  122. 13. Don't delete any voice mail left on your phone(s)—this can be used in potential legal actions.
  123.  
  124. 14. Don't destroy any documents sent your home or business—again this can be used in potential legal actions.
  125.  
  126. 15. Do notify the police of any incidents that happen, like property theft or damage...etc

  128. 16. Cut contact with anyone you suspect of being a part of this attack—don’t notify them, nor should you alert them by accusing them. DO NOT REACT!

  130.
