  14.
  15. --- The hyperbolic time chamber, the pinnacle of magic and technology: a sub-spatial realm which coincided with our own, existing in a parallel reality atop Kami's tower. When inside, one experiences an acceleration in time, however not just perspective time but actual, aging quicker and developing more rapidly. With the arrival and unprecedented strength of the androids, the Z-fighters were forced to utilize this hastened method of training in order to place them on a more relative scale giving them a fighting chance. Tailing Raditz, Menma entered without the faintest of an idea of the progression which would swell him like a fruit, ripening him for the coming prime.
  16.
  17. Methodically, Raditz attack, incessantly pelting the youth with strikes of incomprehensible speed-- but no power? A training method, a taught form of martial arts with skillful elevation in mind. Menma himself knew of the form and thus responded, retaliating to the best of his own ability but hard pressed to improve, overpowered by the sheer might of the alien species. It occurred to him that if there was no better time to master the mode he'd achieved through intensive training than the present; pools of emerald lightened, a green turning to a sickening, mucus shaded yellow and finally solidifying as a bold dandelion gold imitating the brilliance of a lion's mane. Intricate markings detailed the corners of his eyes and his energy exponentially increased two fold. "This is between you and I, Raditz." confiding this secret to the man, he abated his own strikes as to minimize collateral damage.
  18.
  19. This training continued on as hours, days, weeks and month's passed.
  20.
  21. Over the course of their time there, Menma learned of Ki from the saiyan-- better put, how to utilize its properties more expansively. He was taught that one could fuel their muscles thus outwardly expanding them in order to increase their mass, effectively increasing striking power and durability simultaneously. The concept wasn't too foreign, in fact in many ways the properties and complications were similar to the his current existing state. Harboring his own understanding of transfusion and body modification, Menma channeled energy into his muscles-- however what he amidst the process was utilize the natural energy coursing through his veins. The product, consolidation of the sinew and enhanced blood flow. Instead of an increase in mass, Menma experienced an increase in density mimicking the same power and durability granted via the natural progression of the technique. "I- I think I'm getting the hang of this!"
  22.
  23. Over the passing several minutes, respectively few months, Menma practiced this form. The work consisted of persisting challenge-- constructing stronger muscular structures in the arms to better damage his opponent. He'd grown more experienced as he used his energy reserves up, shifting priority mid-combat, bolstering his defense moments after delivering a strike and returning power to his jabs instantaneously. The second grade came when Menma found he was able to delegate power to the entirety of his body, hardening everything whilst retaining his reflexive capabilities.
  24.
  25. He was commending Raditz as well, previously far lesser in terms of power, he'd amplified, parading a hardened and resolute form now far superior to what he was portraying twenty minutes earlier. Crazy it'd only been a quarter of an hour.
  26.
  27. The saiyan seemed to grow droll with their repetition; Menma himself could concur and decided he would try and assist. If the energy he utilized was as malleable in property as it was displaying then separating and solidifying it as a separate form had to be possible. It was a technique he'd been known for, something he was particularly skilled in: cloning. Localizing his energy to his core, Menma centralized an exact divide and projected it outwardly. It resulted in a clone imbued with natural energy bearing the same qualities and characteristics as the original with a far greater tenacity and show of raw might. The duo pressed upon Raditz, the barrage of their combined might forcing a retreat. He couldn't help but be a bit envious however-- what humans had was an impeccable adaptability, growing to their opponents strength via practice and memorization of pattern behavior, however Saiyans seemed to work quite the opposite. When faced with adversity, they remained true to their instincts, being pushed to the brink without even the slightest hint of success fermented a greater outcome and boosted them to new heights. That was the case here with Raditz. Primal fury rapidly improved his fighting prowess and before he knew it Menma was back on the defensive. "Tch! I'll give you this, your race doesn't seem to have a bottom to your power!" he shouted over strained grunts.
  28.
  29. Eventually, Menma's form desisted, having no well to draw from and expiring. It left him exhausted giving them a period of reprieve. Two new techniques accompanied this form, however there was still a lacking-- something he'd struggled with for a great deal of time. He was witty undoubtedly and with his cloning technique he could create and control the battle field far better than before, but he lacked any form of technique with enough 'umph' to put him at an advantage. It was over a conversation about that matter that he recalled something Goku had stated. <i>"Have you ever considered using ki? You know, if you're smart enough with it, you may not have to fire it."</i>
  30.
  31. Ki was an ever adapting and multi-purpose aid which could take any form the user imagined. When the continued their training, Menma pondered the prospect of using ki in close range. Launch had caught him off guard with a charged beam attack which devastated his stamina in a matter of seconds... the ki formed a sphere in her hands whilst charged-- he questioned what properties it would have if one didn't expel the charge but instead used it as a sort of explosive blow. All of that raw energy pent up, impacting a spot point blank and exploding. It had to have the same effects. He pitched the idea to Raditz, hoping he could get a few pointers and a training partner to see the effectiveness. It may have been the possible potential that increased the saiyan's respect for the boy but it worked. The two began training, Raditz being far more knowledgeable as an instructor whilst Menma, taking said instructed, created sphere after sphere trying to find the right niche in which he could prioritize power, containment and rotation.
  32.
  33. Trial and error preceded frustrated grunts which echoed through the chambers. The idea seemed whimsical almost now, but Raditz in all his wisdom advised his protege try to harden the shell on prior to impact further and then alter the flow to the core to create a more powerful effect, effectively containing the energy and increasing the property of of destruction upon implosion.
  34.
  35. With a nod, Menma did so, extending his left hand and created a spherical shell to contain the attack. Reinforcement with extra ki, he filled the central mass with viciously rotating ki that spun at an untraceable rate. "Alright... here goes!" He rushed, moving into combat. His initial approach was lackluster, it was a different type of attack he'd been unfamiliar with. Being the man he was, Raditz didn't allow a free hit, Menma would have to work for it, and work he did. Employ every form of trickery to his arsenal: clones, high speed movement, feints and all, he tried to hit Raditz and found that it was too difficult not to remain linear with the technique. In a final thrust of frustration he grazed Raditz, narrowly missing him and impacting the ground. The sphere erupted, leaking ambient energy everywhere and tossing Menma into the air. He fell with a heavy thud losing his own air. He breathed heavily, choking on his own saliva, fighting for air....
  36.
  37. And then, he laughed. Hysterically chuckling at the success of of his strenuous task. It was all thanks to Raditz to whom he gave all the credit and thanked for his tolerance and patience. The rest of their duration pertained to the mastering of these skills and their overall mutual improvement. When it was time to finally depart, Menma felt renewed and all the better for it.
