- 1) Sure, no one ever claimed (I hope) GG is all gamers. But the KiA traffic is much bigger than subs: http://www.reddit.com/r/KotakuInAction/about/traffic/. No point in ignoring that. Poland's ruling party has only 30K members, and yet 12M+ people voted for them in the latest elections. And KiA is just one thing, there's also Twitter, Tumblr, chans, Facebook, YouTube, etc. When pro-GG YouTube videos get up to 500K-600K views, I'm not really sure how it's unimportant.
- I especially like how this non-influential movement that's been called dead more times than bitcoin keeps popping up in conversations all the time. It's weird. One day it's insignificant, then the other we read that "Intel spends $300M against GG" (which is not a metaphor, e.g. http://www.theverge.com/2015/1/6/7505929/intel-investing-300-million-to-fix-diversity-ces-2015 or http://www.engadget.com/2015/01/08/the-most-important-news-at-ces-is-a-300-million-response-to-gam/ -- although of course this claim is silly)
- I honestly have no idea how big the movement/hashtag is. It'd be hard to determine that anyway if you consider anything has vocal activists and silent sympathizers. But I know it's neither particularly small nor insignificant (as of today).
- 2) "Become a go-to source for gatorz". Maybe? I'm not that convinced, as a) as I showed, TE was actually one of the few bigger sites that GG had no real problems with and firing Tito was not celebrated, b) if that was the key, then why Movie Bob, one of the most vocal hard-core anti-GGers is still there? Again, I don't know exactly what happened, and I am not that interested to be honest -- but if I was, I'd like to see more than speculation (as much as it's fun to speculate, you seem to be super-convinced about what happened). And if I had to speculate myself, probably GG did play a role, but I doubt they were the whole strategy behind the latest moves.
- 3) "Upper management leaning to the right" -- I'll take your word for it. But FWIW GG is left-leaning/libertarian mostly. This is the latest analysis: http://www.reddit.com/r/AgainstGamerGate/comments/2qvg22/gamepolitics_gamergate_political_attitudes_two/ -- but a few were done before, all with the same conclusion. I think the quote that sums it up best would be: "In my last piece, I looked at data that indicated GamerGate remained predominantly left-leaning, but also appeared to be increasingly adrift from the left-wing media."
- My personal experience on the above (I am not GG, to be clear, although I do dislike demonizing them) is that GG either has non-political goals (ethics) or are against the extreme left (or, to be even more precise: against the domination of the extreme left voices in the gaming media). Not really seen anything that would allow me to call GG as right-winged.
