April Famitsu Shiny Colors interview (Honoka Kuroki)

The Osaki sisters, who are part of Alstroemeria. The one who plays Amana, the younger of the twins, Honoka Kuroki. Pay close attention to the comfy relationships between her and her fellow members, Ryoko Maekawa and Noriko Shibasaki!

The source of her performance is not "How to perform" but "How would Amana think"


- Getting the role of Amana Osaki, what were the circumstances leading to that decision?

Kuroki: When I accepted the audition, truth is at first (during tape submissions) I was to perform as both Yuika Mitsumine-chan and Hiori Kazano-chan. Back then I felt, the number of characters then before service started was a lot fewer. After that, the studio judges told me to "please read Amana's lines", and that was my chance to perform as her.


- So that's why you decided to take the role of Amana. Performing as her, what are your impressions?

Kuroki: I feel she has an image of a kid in the center of the class who's loved by everyone, someone who everyone will embrace. However, as I continued to spend my days with Amana, I started to feel more than that, especially the more delicate and sensitive parts of her. Her fragility, her weakness......these kinds of nuances in the dramas, were something that were born due to multiple instances of trial-and-error with the staff.


- Are there any particularly memorable commus for you?

Kuroki: I particularly remember the Thanksgiving Episode as we entered the 2nd year. While I was reading the script, I felt something in my chest, and it was really hard to perform. "It's so painful".


- When you yourself are on stage, do you feel any pressure similar to Amana?

Kuroki: I do I do! For the Producers, they come to the venues because they love the idols, so when I'm on stage I do my absolute best to make it feel as if it's Amana on the stage, because in those moments where it's not Amana, the Producers may be let down, I think...... Of course, it's also important to "have fun"!


- So what do you do to make it feel like Amana?

Kuroki: How should I make the Live more enjoyable, how should I make Chiyuki-chan and Tenka-chan's charms look better; those are the things that Amana would think about, and this is what I try to keep in mind every step of the way during lessons. In addition to my own performance, Ryoko Maekawa-chan, who plays Tenka-chan: "Is this expression not like Tenka-chan?" and Noriko Shibasaki-chan, who plays Chiyuki-chan: "The way my skirt flutters is like Chiyuki-chan", I get those kinds of suggestions. The "expressions" of us 3 are the things I need to keep in mind when standing on the stage.


- So before you stand on stage, do you do any prayers or routines?

Kuroki: I do not! I try not to be conscious of it, because if I do it even once, it'll be really difficult if I can't do it. Before the 3 of us go on stage, we'd make a "promise" with our pinkies and say to each other, "let's do our best"......but in a quiet whisper (laughs).


- Kuroki-san, what are the members, Maekawa-san and Shibasaki-san, to you?

Kuroki: Ryoko-chan is serious but can be a little strange, while Noriko-chan is strange but can be a little serious...... something like that (laughs).


- So their personality distribution is different (laughs).

Kuroki: Both of them, they were the types of people that I never really associated with. So, when we first met, I thought a bit about "how should I keep the distance between us" (laughs). But, both of them were very kind, people who cared more about their surroundings than themselves, so I was able to get along with them very quickly.


- So, exactly like Alstroemeria?

Kuroki: That's right. Our conversations are usually slow-tempoed, with a gentle atmosphere, so it's super peaceful.  When the 3 of us go out to eat, we periodically start a "XX-stromeria" trend. "Sushi-stromeria" or "Nabe-stromeria"! I sometimes post photos like that on Twitter.


Choco-chan is her favorite!


- Apart from Amana, what is your favorite character or song in "Shinymas"?

Kuroki: My favorite idol, quite recently it would be Choco-chan (Chiyoko Sonoda). Cuteness is the way to go! As for songs, I love L'Antica's songs. Especially "Babel City Grace", the feeling of sprinting and power is something that I'd never seen in "Shiny Colors" through Alstroemeria, and I received their cool impact.


- From now on, what is something you'd like to challenge or to put into practice for "Shinymas"?

Kuroki: I'd like to have more unit shuffles. For example, I think I'd like to see a group of cute girls gathered together, to form a dream unit. Of course, Amana would want to be grouped with Choco-chan. Not because I want it personally, of course (laughs). The events up until now and my present day feelings match! And if you want to put in another one, we could put in Mei (Izumi). Having those 3 as a group would be really interesting.


- You have high expectations, don't you! Lastly, please give the Producers a message.

Kuroki: When the in-game idols, and us who perform as them , get closer together, and as we add more units, I'm looking forward to what kind of chemical reaction will happen. No matter how, I'd be really happy if you could watch over us as we grow!
