  1. [17:17] Calael E. Kang says, "Good evening."
  2. [17:17] Lea Elisheva says, "Hiiiii."
  3. [17:17] Lea Elisheva says, "So. Tell her about the s- "
  4. [17:17] Lea Elisheva says, "Oh."
  5. [17:18] Calael E. Kang says, "Oh right, here's the company."
  6. [17:18] Lea Elisheva says, "Well, alright."
  7. [17:18] Calael E. Kang says, "...we're going to get to work on the Spire Cluster soon, I think we're just waiting on Satsuki."
  8. [17:18] Sima Kang says, "Sorry if we're interrupting-"
  9. [17:19] Lea Elisheva exclaims, "Well, I'd love to help with that!"
  10. [17:19] Rindou Sakamoto says, "..."
  11. [17:20] Calael E. Kang says, "Mhm! We're going to put the Lighthouse in the sky over Levengard to act as a cosmic conduit for White Magic, which is a lot of jargon that means... the Lighthouse will fly and we'll be able to heal even fatal wounds."
  12. [17:21] Rindou went after the meat of the subject before Calael could avoid the subject any further.
  13.
  14. "Isaac said you had my sword."
  15.
  16. If there were untold bad news Lea had almost told her, then it was bound to be told now.
  17. (Rindou Sakamoto)
  18. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  19.
  20. [17:23] The white-feathered can't help but wave at the congregation of individuals present! Then she'll walk past them, towards the Tomb itself. As Setsuna is likely to explain, the Angel-blooded begins circling the man-sized machine, tracing her three-tiered runework around it.
  21.
  22. Luminous gold-white shifts into a vibrant viridian, once each circle is properly drawn in! The first five, linked together via runic fetters and strings, will sit around the device, with the last one, a giant ring - Portal - beginning to be made around the device...
  23.
  24. The Master Wayfinder is going to most definitely teleport the device away. She'll glance up to casually say;
  25.
  26. "It's not your sword, and you having it would be very dangerous and bad for us as a whole as from my examinations of Halcyon, they contain a host of unknown and potentially very dangerous powers!
  27.
  28. Such a weapon should be watched over closely and not given to someone who's at best a free agent and at worst a spy!"
  29.
  30. She states this almost mechanically, her gaze returning to her work!
  31. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  32. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  33.
  34. [17:24] Lea Elisheva says, "Hi mom."
  35. [17:24] Magdalen Elisheva exclaims, "Hi sweetie!"
  36. [17:24] Setsuna Ukitake says, "I am removing the Qilin machine, taking it away to a secure location."
  37. [17:24] Calael E. Kang says, "Certainly."
  38. [17:24] Calael E. Kang says, "Thank you for entrusting it here with us for as long as you did, Setsuna."
  39. [17:24] "Isaac gave me the sapphire blade to open the Spire doors once we reached them. Unfortunately... I intend to use it to interact with the Illyothan technology we're going to put in place here in the Lighthouse. Imagine it as a startup key for what we're creating here." Cal seemed far more calm and relaxed than he ever had been before, even delighted to see everyone here in the Lighthouse.
  40.
  41. And yet, when speaking to Rindou, there was a certain amount of stern apprehension he had, and the warmth in his eyes was a little more dubious in nature when peering across the table.
  42.
  43. "I told Lea we could come to another agreement and hand off something else that might provide you with an appropriate weapon. As it stands, this is one I will keep in my own possession for the time being." Cal nodded at what Magdalen said as well, finding he and his sister in agreement on a number of things when it came to the blue blade.
  44. (Calael E. Kang)
  45. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  46.
  47. [17:28] Setsuna Ukitake whispers something.
  48. [17:29] Upon seeing Satsuki, the young Qilin turns around, before offering a piece of Arcanium. Shortly after, she leans in to mutter something under her breath.
  49. (Setsuna Ukitake)
  50. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  51.
  52. [17:30] Setsuna Ukitake whispers something.
  53. [17:30] Satsuki stares at the arcanium, and then looks at her limited inventory.
  54. (Satsuki Shimasu)
  55. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  56.
  57. [17:30] Satsuki Shimasu says, ". . ."
  58. [17:30] Satsuki Shimasu says, ". . . Hm."
  59. [17:30] Setsuna Ukitake says, "I can hold something for a short moment, if you wish."
  60. [17:31] Satsuki Shimasu says, "Excuse me for a moment."
  61. [17:33] Magdalen's words at first got her to frown. Who was she to step in and make decisions like that? To claim it wasn't hers and that they were keeping it? She was moments from mouthing her off before Calael himself spoke. Amber eyes fell upon the angel-blooded's own, listening to his every word and allowing the bad news that Lea had came close to telling her flow right through and hit her heart.
  62.
  63. The man would see it right away; there was this... utter disdain. The unhappiness. This anger. This jealousy. Her fists clenched up, yet she drew no sword to threaten Calael as she had many, many times before. No. She had none to draw.
  64.
  65. "At first you let Isaac do horrible things for the sake of the expedition. Now that it's over you've turned into doing those horrible things yourself for the sake of your own projects."
  66.
  67. Fists clenched up, gripping upon the red cloth on the table.
  68.
  69. "I was going to offer my help for you project, you know? I was going to willingly come even after you forced me right out of the expedition, endorsed that monster's actions, and berated me for wanting to be treated like a human being.
  70.
  71. I was still going to help you. But you had to settle on something that was taken from me instead of trying to get the other weapon from Gehenna. You just knew it'd be easier to strike at me instead of them."
  72.
  73. She wasn't standing up, but she might as well be.
  74.
  75. "Are you going to tell me to leave and go back to my shrine again? To wait for everything to blow over? To wait for your project to fall so I can have what I kept away from Sors and fought a child-eating vampire over?"
  76. (Rindou Sakamoto)
  77. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  78.
  79. [17:33] Lea Elisheva says, "...mom."
  80. [17:34] Lea Elisheva says, "Please don't chime in."
  81. [17:35] Satsuki holds out a small black box to Setsuna, decorated with what can only be described as a cartoon fox mascot on the front.
  82. (Satsuki Shimasu)
  83. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  84.
  85. [17:40] Setsuna takes the transceiver, before offering Satsuki a soft smile, soon followed by a low bow.
  86.
  87. "Thank you, Lady Shimasu. I will get this attuned to Huangzhou's network as soon as I can."
  88. (Setsuna Ukitake)
  89. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  90.
  91. [17:40] Even with Rindou's accusations, Cal remained still in his chair, unphased and still quiet and collected. After her bout of anger, the demiangel spoke confidently, and with that same directive tone he had wielded during his tenure as Oracle.
  92.
  93. "Keeping a weapon out of your hands is not a 'horrible thing', Rindou Sakamoto. It is for the safety of others that I do it. You don't see me returning it to Isaac's hands either, and you will not see me give it to anyone I do not trust."
  94.
  95. "When I found Sors Ultovex in the woods and shielded the children from his attack, you chose to stay behind instead of retreating. When you returned to Levengard you refused questioning, and even now I can see something within you that is... terribly concerning." Cal's fingers drummed along the armrests. "Keeping theblade isn't a slight against you. It isn't an attack or anything I am trying to do to harm you, Rindou. It's why I've suggested an offer of something of value to you. I cannot trust you with it, but I don't intend to make matters worse in your life either."
  96.
  97. "Compromise has always been an important thing in my life, and one of the only ways I have discovered to efficiently and effectively move forward. If you don't wish to accept a compromise of having something else given to you in the place of the sword... then I have nothing left to say."
  98. (Calael E. Kang)
  99. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  100.
  101. [17:42] Tobias entered the Lighthouse, unlocking the door with his own key (the key with his name misspelled on it) and proceeding to lock it behind him. And with the immense gathering of people in attendance, he feared that he may have been late. Fashionably late.
  102.
  103. "Hello, everyone." he said somewhat intrusively, probably not reading the mood.
  104. (Tobias Ulrich)
  105. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  106.
  107. [17:43] The white-feathered gives a nod to Setsuna, altering some parameters on her Territory, Travel, and Interpolation glyph-weaves! She'll notice Satsuki next, giving her a big smile.
  108.
  109. "Hello, Lady Satsuki. When you're not busy, I'd like to examine your eye with my diagnostic technique - I might be able to learn functions and capabilities of it that you're not currently aware of, mhm mhm."
  110.
  111. Then, looking to the outburst of the Rindou, Magdalen gives a soft sigh, an apologetic look given to Lea.
  112.
  113. "Sorry Lea.
  114.
  115. I'll try to be nice, but I just am going to say that I have no idea why Rindou's even in this room, as far as I know she has no skills or abilities to help manipulate the cluster, no abilities to build or interface with devices and whatever she's hinting at she got from Sors is probably really corrupt trash, like most of the things he has.
  116.
  117. She's whining over a complex control device that she wants to swing around and wack people with - for what end? Why does she want a weapon? Why does she specifically want that weapon?
  118.
  119. All important questions to consider."
  120.
  121. And with that, Magdalen finishes her Portal rune with a drag of a hand, causing a viridian-rune-bordered window into the Lifestream to open up, the entire device vanishing in a flurry of energetic motes, and the Magdalen walks over towards Setsuna!
  122.
  123. "Would you like to come with me to Huangzhou, dear?"
  124. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  125. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  126.
  127. [17:44] Calael E. Kang says, "By the way Mags, if you'd like to help you're welcome to."
  128. [17:44] Magdalen Elisheva exclaims, "I absolutely would, brother!"
  129. [17:45] Setsuna Ukitake says, "Yes, I'll come with you. There's something else I'd like you to take a look at as well. If you have the time, that is."
  130. [17:45] Tobias Ulrich says, "Uh.."
  131. [17:45] Tobias Ulrich asks, "Bad time?"
  132. [17:45] Lea Elisheva says, "No, it's gonna be the best time in a little bit."
  133. [17:45] Lea Elisheva says, "Just... once this conversation is done with."
  134. [17:45] Calael E. Kang says, "We'll begin work once this is settled, yes."
  135. [17:46] Sima gives a late wave towards Tobias, his prosthetic hands fiddling with a meteorite cluster.
  136. (Sima Kang)
  137. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  138.
  139. [17:50] "I didn't refuse questioning. Thalia attacked me because I didn't want to wait for you in a cold jail cell bound and unable to do anything. I wanted to stick around the square and wait for you, Calael. I never hid what happened that day, either. I've told Lea about it the day I came across her again." She said, still on the verge of standing up from her seat. Her lips parted, and her heart opened up for all to see— to judge as they would.
  140.
  141. "I swore that I would kill Sors Ultovex for what he's done. I've refused to serve him countless times. I've turned down his compliments. I've turned down owing him favors in exchange for power he's promised. I did..."
  142.
  143. She grit her teeth, amber eyes actually watering up, showing weakness, exhaustion, and a spiral of emotions she couldn't quite handle.
  144.
  145. "I did everything right! I tried my hardest, but it didn't matter! I nearly died on that expedition, because being there felt like the right place to be!"
  146.
  147. Magdalen was the recipient for a fist coming down against the table, smashing when Rindou finally got up from her seat - the tension had risen and despite her doing her best to hold it all back it was difficult.
  148.
  149. "And you! You went ahead and took a look inside of me— you searched for his mark and found nothing! You bothered me about tampering with my soul because you just don't want to believe someone could manage to return from under that monster's grasp without falling victim to his words!
  150.
  151. Just how much of a fucking hypocrite can you be?! I know about the way you keep begging people to see or have weapons that aren't even yours; I want something that's mine! Is that too much to ask?!"
  152. (Rindou Sakamoto)
  153. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  154.
  155. [17:54] The old Kitsune gave a small bow to Setsuna in response, then made her way over to everyone else and slid into the vacant chair. She leaned back, hands first rising to adjust the small ribbon around her neck and then falling to clasp in front of her, on her lap. She was content to remain silent for the proceedings, wearing her eternal poker face and concealing her thoughts and feelings to everyone - even Calael.
  156.
  157. As the superior mindreader, she had gotten particularly good at flooding the front of her mind with the equivalent of static, and unless Calael could probe beyond the surface he'd only be met with actual white noise. Loud white noise - the sort that'd provoke at least a wince. But something that's said prompts the forcefield of noise to drop in an instant, and she projects a single message to the other Wisdom:
  158.
  159. Hold on.
  160.
  161. The white noise returns for amoment as she gives a nod to Magdalen - agreement to at least discuss the matter later, perhaps - before returning her attention to the far more pressing matter.
  162.
  163. "...The two of you should really be kept apart," Satsuki said, the tiniest smile appearing on her face. Rindou's theatrics, and subsequent outburst, hadn't even managed to inspire the slightest startled reaction, even as close as Satsuki was. Seeing it coming probably helped on that front.
  164.
  165. "Attending the expedition was the correct move, yes. You did nothing wrong in going, Rindou Sakamoto. But... may I ask... call it... petty curiosity," The Kitsune's head tilted slightly, Telethrene's all-seeing eye and the glowing gaze of Wisdom both devoting their full attention to the woman.
  166.
  167. "...Why you have chosen to manufacture your glow?"
  168. (Satsuki Shimasu)
  169. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  170.
  171. [17:56] Tobias crossed his arms, leaning against the wall behind him and silently listening. He didn't have enough information about the situation to weigh in, but he did wish to hear her out. And maybe extrapolate something from both sides of the situation.
  172.
  173. Maybe the two biggest brains in Agartha would shine some light on things?
  174. (Tobias Ulrich)
  175. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  176.
  177. [17:57] "Then create something that is yours." Cal said to the now standing Rindou. Her outburst didn't earn so much as a jump from the demiangel, his only reaction a quiet sigh in response to her anger and rage.
  178.
  179. "This blade isn't even ours. It is a relic of the past, belonging to the old Illyothans who we carved through in order to reach this point... it is not an ornament to be worn on someone's back for their personal pride..."
  180.
  181. Satsuki's command to pause was heard loud and clear, and so Calael sat back to let her address the swordswoman.
  182. (Calael E. Kang)
  183. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  184.
  185. [18:03] "You can create something that's yours! You've got a ton of people helping you here for that reason. Do you think they'll help me?"
  186.
  187. Those words were definitely filled with self-loathing and jealousy, but they were completely overshadowed by the light that burned at the side of her field of view; the questions that were asked by Satsuki weren't ones she expected after seeing Reito not notice it - or perhaps - not question it.
  188.
  189. Lying to that woman wouldn't work, would it? At the very least it seemed like Rindou calmed down, even if just a bit. The subject being shifted to her story and the attention she gained from it had that effect.
  190.
  191. ".. Because I knew I wouldn't keep it. I've lost my light when Sors attacked the shrine. It wouldn't be long until Jiuweihu would take her blessing away from me, too. I..."
  192.
  193. Lying wouldn't work, would it? Why else would she even do that knowing there was a chance she'd get caught? She was fraud, and Satsuki had called her out for it.
  194.
  195. "... I didn't want people to think I was a lost cause when I came back. I didn't want them all to assume I'd turned bad because that glow would be gone. I... made sure I'd be able to keep glowing. When I returned to Agartha, I knew that she would see me. The rose up, and I allowed the punishment for my decision to come.
  196.
  197. It blinded me."
  198.
  199. She was definitely less angry and far, far more sad. It was obvious that thing young woman deeply hated herself for her own actions.
  200. (Rindou Sakamoto)
  201. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  202.
  203. [18:09] The white-feathered casually begins to trace the runes in the air, even as Rindou freaks out at her so emotionally. The white-feathered opting to prepare to send Setsuna home. She'll explain, casually;
  204.
  205. "Since I've been invited, dear, I think I'll stay and send you home - I sent it where you asked me to send it!
  206.
  207. Take care, and I'll speak with you later!"
  208.
  209. An eyebrow raises in Rindou's direction, casually adding, as she continues evoking viridian runes out of her gold-white paintings;
  210.
  211. "… So, taking what you told us as a whole... You want that control device back so you can try to get Sors in a rematch, even though you failed before? Even if I believed you, that's uh... A stupid plan.
  212.
  213. Then, now you're pointing this at me..."
  214.
  215. Thewhite-feathered pauses her runeweaving, so as to reach back and decouple one of the three elongated shapes upon her back, one thin and covered in soft silks and linens, and the other thicker and wrapped in black canvas.
  216.
  217. Holding her inactive gunblade before her, she motions to it.
  218.
  219. "This is the only weapon I wield. Yes, I asked for Rebirth, because I was told by another that it was being used irresponsibly. Until I was told about what it was used for, told that by the Reito that was balling her eyes out over you, Rindou, because she was so scared for you that you where taken.
  220.
  221. And secondly, sure, I didn't find a Soul-mark, but some of us remember my Lailah, right? How Sors likes to get in people's heads...
  222.
  223. And seriously, Rindou, calm the Hel down. Because you're friends with Lea, and despite how much I don't trust you, I'd help you make something for yourself. You spend all this time and energy pointing fingers at everyone around you, when you don't just take a look at yourself and realize that you're the root of your own problems. Your dumb fears about people rejecting you, so you antagonize them until they do reject you.
  224.
  225. Fix yourself, woman."
  226.
  227. And with a few more movements of her hands, the last runeweave of the Portal glyph-system is finished, transporting Setsuna away, if she so wanted to.
  228. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  229. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  230.
  231. [18:12] Lea Elisheva says, "My mom echo one of the sentiments I've been talking about for the past decade is strangely heartwarming..."
  232. [18:13] Lea Elisheva asks, "Who's there?"
  233. [18:13] Sima Kang asks, "Sounds like Vetani-- Should I let her in?"
  234. [18:14] Lea Elisheva says, "Yeah, probably."
  235. [18:15] "It is... enticing, is it not?" she asked, reclining further back in her chair. "When you are... alone, and forsaken - and when everything goes wrong no matter how much you try," she continued, the intensity of her stare revealing that she had picked up on just a little bit more than Rindou wanted her to, "When you are ignored, and abandoned, and when you believe that even Jiuweihu has abandoned you..."
  236.
  237. Her organic eye closed, and she inhaled deeply for a moment. Speaking from the heart was not something that Satsuki often did; a common criticism of her, once upon a time, was that she didn't even have a heart. It was still something of a difficult matter for her even in her advanced age.
  238.
  239. The glowing green eye opened and landed onMagdalen for a moment, the tiniest scowl appearing on her features in response to the hostility. The Kitsune's nod suggested a form of agreement, but... perhaps that wasn't the right delivery.
  240.
  241. So Satsuki continued.
  242.
  243. "It is enticing to embrace that which you think will lead to fulfillment. But all the while - you never realize that you are not alone, and that you are... surrounded by support - if only you would reach out and take it, instead of pushing all of that support away. They are... flawed, and angry, and inadequate - but they try, Rindou Sakamoto, even if it is not... obvious. Even if you do not think so. Gods, they try."
  244.
  245. The stare landed on Rindou once more.
  246.
  247. "But it is as enticing as it is terrible, in those circumstances, to fall. There is an allure to it. 'I am not appreciated for solving their problems, so I will become their problem now instead' - something like that, right?" She paused, briefly. "Or perhaps I am merely projecting, speaking... far too much of my own experiences, my own feelings."
  248.
  249. "...It is far greater to rise again - such a thing is almost always possible. The only question is: how much have you fallen?"
  250. (Satsuki Shimasu)
  251. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  252.
  253. [18:15] Calael E. Kang says, "Yes yes."
  254. [18:15] Calael E. Kang says, "Let Vetani in, she can help as well."
  255. [18:19] Lea's gaze shifted over to Satsuki, her expression a combination of shock and awe at the fact that this might've been the first time in her life that she heard wisdom from someone that wasn't just a different take on, or reinforcing, what she already knew.
  256. (Lea Elisheva)
  257. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  258.
  259. [18:24] Rindou's amber gaze met with Satsuki's green gaze, facing it head-on and listening to the words she had to say, the mix of projection, experience, and theory that came from her. Along the way the Sakamoto wasn't sure if the old woman was speaking of her alone or the both of them, though all that focus, deduction, and thinking fell straight when she asked that single question, one that was met with a response suited for her.
  260.
  261. "I don't know. I only hope it's not too far."
  262.
  263. Her lack of knowledge came as a lie veiled behind a flicker of her own green hubris. It would be crazy to pretend like she hadn't gone through a horrible time, however. Everyone around the table could see it. Even people who didn't know her knew of her.
  264.
  265. After a rather forcefully calming talk the young woman's gaze shifted back towards Calael, then towards Lea, then back at Calael.
  266.
  267. "If it's the sword's technology you're interested in I'll get you the red one.
  268.
  269. I want this one."
  270.
  271. It was baffling she actually made a reasonable counter-offer.
  272. (Rindou Sakamoto)
  273. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  274.
  275. [18:25] Calael E. Kang says, "Then bring me the red one."
  276. [18:26] Satsuki Shimasu whispers: ...It is /close/ to too late, but I do not believe the hole is too deep. Not quite yet.
  277. [18:29] Magdalen can't help but shake her head and sigh. There's near silent, "This again...".
  278.
  279. She'll go stand over by Calael, before opting to lean on a end table behind her, half-sitting upon it. Going in circles at this point, she has to ask;
  280.
  281. "What do you even want it for...? You can't make use of its abilities, and it likely won't even give you much of a leg up against Sors.
  282.
  283. And then when you get defeated, it'll just be his..."
  284. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  285. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  286.
  287. [18:30] Rindou Sakamoto says, "Because it's rightfully mine. I fought for it. I gave up things for it. I ensured Sors wouldn't get his hands on the other."
  288. [18:31] Calael E. Kang says, "To believe it is rightfully yours is still incorrect... it is rightfully Alcyon's..."
  289. [18:31] Lea Elisheva says, "...miss Satsuki is really cool."
  290. [18:31] Adonis perks up a bit at the mention of a certain Nightmare, but eventually returns to leaning against the wall with his arms folded over his chest.
  291. (Adonis Lelhua)
  292. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  293.
  294. [18:31] Calael E. Kang says, "It is rightfully those of the old Illyothan Council who we killed. We took from there to reach this point... I won't have you believe any of this is -ours- in full."
  295. [18:31] Calael E. Kang says, "We owe a lot to them."
  296. [18:32] Magdalen Elisheva says, "It is NOT rightfully yours. The expedition was a joint task force of all three nations. Only children operate off of 'finders keepers' rules."
  297. [18:32] Satsuki Shimasu asks, "...I wonder - would you say that this eye is mine?"
  298. [18:32] Satsuki Shimasu says, "We only stole them, really."
  299. [18:32] Rindou Sakamoto says, "You all blame me for claiming none of you want to help me, for saying that everyone hates me but when it comes down to it? No one can even -trust me- with anything."
  300. [18:32] Satsuki Shimasu asks, "...What have you done to make yourself look trustworthy, Rindou Sakamoto?"
  301. [18:32] Magdalen Elisheva says, "Trust is earned, not given."
  302. [18:32] Calael E. Kang says, "I cannot. You're correct. You've given me few reasons to do so..."
  303. [18:32] Lea Elisheva says, "I do."
  304. [18:32] Calael E. Kang says, "The first time we truly met you pointed a sword at my face and tried to cut my cheek because I would not react or fight you."
  305. [18:32] Calael E. Kang says, "First impressions..."
  306. [18:32] Magdalen Elisheva says, "Go out and do something to earn our trust instead of sitting around here all day whining and complaining to everyone within earshot."
  307. [18:32] Satsuki Shimasu says, ". . ."
  308. [18:33] Rindou Sakamoto says, "Because you endorsed the same man you said -you- didn't trust just moments ago, Calael."
  309. [18:33] Adonis Lelhua asks, "This.... is a meeting for a collaboration, right? Did I come on the wrong day?"
  310. [18:33] Calael E. Kang says, "We need to get to work, apologies, Liquid Adonis."
  311. [18:33] Satsuki Shimasu says, "Every day is the wrong day-"
  312. [18:33] Sima Kang says, "We all intruded when uh... Something was happening, Adonis-"
  313. [18:33] Satsuki turns to look at Adonis, for a moment. She realizes in an instant she doesn't know his name. Hang on.
  314. (Satsuki Shimasu)
  315. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  316.
  317. [18:33] Satsuki Shimasu says, "...Adonis Lelhua."
  318. [18:34] Adonis Lelhua says, "The one who re-warded your home eleven years ago to this day. That's me, Lady Shimasu."
  319. [18:34] Calael E. Kang says, "I believe it is fair that we ask you to earn our trust and a right to hold a relic of value, Rindou. If you bring me the other blade then I'll use it for the same purpose as this blue one and return the other to you... in the meantime, we DO need to get to work."
  320. [18:34] Calael E. Kang says, "I've gathered these mages here for a reason, anyway..."
  321. [18:34] Lea Elisheva says, "I'll trust you, Rindou."
  322. [18:34] Magdalen Elisheva says, "Yeaaah, can Rindou be excused? She's really not being constructive or useful and posesses no skills that can help us with the cluster. Futhermore, I'm going to be pessimistic and say that her being present might leak information back to Sors and thus compromise what we're making."
  323. [18:35] Rindou Sakamoto says, "..."
  324. [18:36] Satsuki Shimasu asks, "Goodness. Is that what it is like when I talk down to people?"
  325. [18:36] Calael E. Kang says, "Yes."
  326. [18:36] Satsuki Shimasu says, "...Huh."
  327. [18:42] Rindou would have offered Magdalen a middle finger if she didn't hold years of etiquette behind her. A frown instead was offered her way before she stared at Calael again.
  328.
  329. "The last time I tried to earn your trust I almost died. Both from your niece and a child-eating vampire you allowed on the expedition who I had to take that sword from. The next time I tried to do something good for the world you told me to go back to my shrine and wait.
  330.
  331. And I did. And that's where Sors Ultovex came. And I was alone.
  332.
  333. Just what do you fucking want from me, Calael?! Why is your sister blaming me, pointing fingers and saying I'm some sort of monster after I was held captive and came back on my own?! I even let her search for all the horrible things she accuses me of.
  334.
  335. What more do you want from me? What will it take?"
  336.
  337. She really was reaching her limit, even while holding back.
  338.
  339. "When he said I was fated to be a pawn I didn't want to believe him. I still don't want to, but you're all making it horribly difficult."
  340. (Rindou Sakamoto)
  341. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  342.
  343. [18:43] Calael E. Kang says, "The red blade, for starters... would be good."
  344. [18:44] Rindou Sakamoto exclaims, "I already got the red blade, Calael! Five years on the spire isle!"
  345. [18:44] Lea gazed over at her mom, her expression not just stern, but on the precipice of actual anger.
  346.
  347. "Mom. Stop. You're making things worse. Just quit while you're ahead, please."
  348.
  349. ...ahead of who?
  350. (Lea Elisheva)
  351. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  352.
  353. [18:46] Tobias rubbed the back of his neck, giving a frown. He could never understand Rindou's feelings, as he never had such an attachment to a material item. Even if it was something as priceless as those twin swords. He had gone through a life of having these sorts of things taken from him, when his entire city was destroyed and he was forced to move.
  354.
  355. ".. People and their swords." Tobias muttered under his breath. It was the same way with Caira and Muramasa, she went absolutely nuts over that weapon. "Am I missing something about this weapon? It's just a blade, right? With some special, unique properties, but.." he trailed off, shaking his head.
  356.
  357. "I suppose if I can't wrap my head around this controversy after all that I've heard so far, I guess I'll never understand it."
  358. (Tobias Ulrich)
  359. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  360.
  361. [18:52] The white-feathered crosses her arms, an eyebrow raised.
  362.
  363. "You're projecting your upsets on us - I assume you mean Isaac's vampire, and Isaac's daughter. Sounds like you have a grievance with Huangzhou."
  364.
  365. The notion of the red blade has Magdalen shake her head;
  366.
  367. "That's Gehenna's. Asking her to go and steal something from an ally is equally wrong, especially since she doesn't need it for any reason greater then her own vanity and to make herself feel good.
  368.
  369. I don't think you're a monster, get this straight. I think you're actively resisting everything we do to help you. You have this whole 'my way or the road' mentality and are refusing to respect the people of the settlement that have taken you in."
  370.
  371. Then, Rindou's last declaration has Magdalen frown.
  372.
  373. "… And now you're threatening to turn traitor, directly to our faces..."
  374.
  375. Looking to the people around the table, Magdalen looks to Lea, shaking her head again, Lea.
  376.
  377. "I'm sorry, dear. I know you're going to be upset at me, but she hasn't changed one iota since I met her.
  378.
  379. I understand you're trying to treat her, but instead of her improving, you're just bowing to what she wants, you even promised to get the blade back for her, without examining the repercussions.
  380.
  381. You're not looking at the big picture, only trying to make her feel happy - a goal that seems to be impossible, because her happiness is dependent on us all letting her do whatever she wants."
  382.
  383. Looking to Tobias, she answers;
  384.
  385. "The blade is assembled via a chunk of Spire Shard core, the device is threaded through with Illyothium and Arcanium, while there's sections of the internals that are locked off from use that possess hidden information and capabilities.
  386.
  387. It's not just a weapon, but a hightly advanced tool endowed with latent Spire-derived Divine Magic."
  388. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  389. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  390.
  391. [18:54] Tobias Ulrich says, ".. That just sounds like a sword with extra steps."
  392. [18:55] Calael E. Kang says, "I'm not asking her to steal from Gehenna. Rindou offered a trade, I said I'd take it. This is compromise. Magdalen offered to make Rindou her own blade, another compromise. I won't be handing the blade over, especially not when I have uses in mind for it beyond simply utilizing it as a weapon, for free... you know my terms Rindou. I'd ask that we be allowed to move onto what I've gathered everyone here for."
  393. [18:56] " Please don't waste my time. "
  394.
  395. Adonis speaks up finally, ringed eyes focused entirely on Magdalen as she speaks to Rindou and the conversation begins to go down a spiral. He wasn't here for it.
  396.
  397. He isn't here for personal woes. Problems.
  398.
  399. " I've come to assist in pushing Agartha into a new era. I've come to relay information about the Lelhua Network to Calael Kang. It's not that I think my time is more valuable than yours... " He does. It was. To him, at least.
  400.
  401. " But this has been solved already. A sword for a sword. Trust is earned. And now, we have nothing left to do but get to work, correct? So if you would be so kind, Former Oracle. " He gestures to the man in a burlap sack, opting out of conveying how the man needed to up his sense of style for the Renaissance.
  402.
  403. Being old was about being comfortable. And as long as he was comfy, Adonis did not care.
  404. (Adonis Lelhua)
  405. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  406.
  407. [18:56] Calael E. Kang says, "Well said..."
  408. [18:56] Satsuki Shimasu asks, "What relation have you to Zoldak Lelhua?"
  409. [18:56] Adonis Lelhua says, "I am the merchant king's Great-Grandson."
  410. [18:56] Satsuki Shimasu says, "How curious, the web of fate can be. I attribute much of my success to my encounter with him. Odd."
  411. [18:57] Adonis Lelhua says, "Hopefully I'll be able to say the same of my encounter with you some day."
  412. [18:57] Satsuki Shimasu whispers something.
  413. [18:58] Adonis Lelhua whispers something.
  414. [18:58] Satsuki Shimasu whispers something.
  415. [18:59] Satsuki Shimasu whispers something.
  416. [19:01] Magdalen Elisheva whispers something.
  417. [19:01] Adonis Lelhua whispers something.
  418. [19:01] Magdalen Elisheva whispers something.
  419. [19:01] Calael E. Kang whispers something.
  420. [19:01] Satsuki Shimasu whispers something.
  421. [19:01] Magdalen Elisheva whispers something.
  422. [19:02] Calael E. Kang whispers something.
  423. [19:02] Tobias Ulrich says, "I'm feeling pretty left out right now."
  424. [19:02] Calael E. Kang whispers something.
  425. [19:02] Calael E. Kang says, "Apologies, Tobias... we'll get started soon."
  426. [19:02] Magdalen Elisheva whispers something.
  427. [19:03] ...hoo boy.
  428.
  429. Lea was pissed. And worse off, she was pissed at the person in the world she least wanted to be angry at. Perhaps, on some level, she knew her mom wasn't exactly wrong about what she was trying to say, but for a handful of reasons that were both obvious and not-so-obvious, Lea actually found herself seriously upset at what her mom just said. Despite the truth in her words, they weren't right enough for Lea to reflect, resulting in her feeling misunderstood.
  430.
  431. And that hurt.
  432.
  433. She manifested that hurt in the form of the table under her hands actually cracking a little, but how she managed to do that wasn't clear at all.
  434.
  435. She also manifested that hurt in the form of words that Lea was not known for saying.
  436.
  437. "You don't have any idea what the fuck I'm trying to do, and I don't appreciate you giving your take on something you clearly don't understand."
  438.
  439. A nerve was touched.
  440.
  441. She stood up, turn around, and walked out the door, with or without Rindou- or anyone else on that matter- in tow.
  442. (Lea Elisheva)
  443. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  444.
  445. [19:04] Calael E. Kang says, "L... Language."
  446. [19:04] Satsuki Shimasu says, "Institute a swear jar or deal with it, Calael Kang."
  447. [19:05] Lea Elisheva says, "I'm speaking the same language that all of you are."
  448. [19:05] Whoosh.
  449. (Lea Elisheva)
  450. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  451.
  452. [19:05] Satsuki Shimasu says, "...She is not wrong."
  453. [19:05] Calael E. Kang says, "Right..."
  454. [19:06] Rindou stormed off, too, in tow with Lea. There was a lot to process and a lot more to be angry about.
  455.
  456. Not to mention she was told she was useless in this project.
  457. (Rindou Sakamoto)
  458. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  459.
  460. [19:06] Tobias stepped up to steal Lea's seat after she left, lowering himself down onto a chair and crossing one leg over the other. An exhausted sigh was given.
  461.
  462. "I didn't sign up for this, are we going to stop talking about swords now?"
  463. (Tobias Ulrich)
  464. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  465.
  466. [19:07] Calael E. Kang says, "Yes, let's get.. started."
  467. [19:07] Satsuki Shimasu says, "And now they are trapped forever."
  468. [19:07] Satsuki Shimasu says, "Oh never mind"
  469. [19:07] Lea sat down on the beach and angrily stared into space.
  470. (Lea Elisheva)
  471. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  472.
  473. [19:08] Satsuki Shimasu says, "...I think I am beginning to understand the reality."
  474. [19:08] Satsuki Shimasu says, "Exercise caution, Lea Elisheva - and... immense amounts of care. It is required."
