- The child came to a sudden halt as he neared the bottom of the stairs. His eyes widened as he observed the gargantuan creature in the distance. It looked different, but those red eyes were unmistakable. Clenching his fists, he leaped into the air and ran across the ground.
- "Hey! Remember me, big fella'? You remember me, you frickin' asshat!?"
- (Edwin Brincourt)
- Erebus would stop and look at Edwin, remember his voice from the distant past... Standing there he didn't really know what he kid was talking about until he sniffed the air like he causally does and smells the scent of his own darkness.
- Yes, the darkness that left that crescent scar on his chest.. Now remembering, Erebus began to bust out in laughter, rolling a few times on the ground before asking.
- "You're that weakling that I had a bite from when I was but a giga..HAAAHAA! Have you at least gotten stronger little mortal?" The second sentence, after he already got back up and wiped the tears from his ears."
- (Erebus)
- "Shut up! You got the jump on me, an' that's all there is to it. See," he smiles and adjusts his scarf. "I'm not that same little kid from anymore, yeah? Now I know a thing or two about magic, y'know?"
- In spite of all of his bravado, it was clear that there was a certain degree of fear that clung to his person. Facing the demon that had left him with a brand of his own weakness summoned memories he'd rather not face.
- "When Theodore agreed to train me," he exhales sharply. Erwin's voice was a bit shaken. "He told me to live by two things."
- He holds up two fingers.
- "Honesty n' bravery."
- "So if we're bein' honest, you asshat, you're the only reason I'm where I'm at today. As weird as it sounds.. I guess I have you to thank for me wanting to learn magic n' stuff," he takes a few steps forwards. The child was clenching his fists, and before long they were white with frustration. His eyes flashed back and forth from their natural color to a brilliant golden hue.
- "But--that doesn't excuse what you did to me, n' now that you're right here in front of me.. I can't just let you walk away."
- "So step up," he adopted a very simple fighting stance. Absent of any weapons or armor, the simpleton held his fists up by his face as if they were a pair of mythic blades. "An' get a face full of my fists, the good ol' one two, the whole nine yards!"
- (Edwin Brincourt)
- Vlad time!
- Interjecting himself unnecessarily into this debate, the older man glides in front of the boy, staring down at him, barely seeming to register what was said previously.
- "Uwaa hahahaha. No need for that! Come, come, friend, let us relax and enjoy the sanctity and beauty of this new land!"
- He doesn't quite seem to have everything in place, it seems.
- (Vlad Dragimir)
- Erebus attempts to move vampire physically.
- (Erebus)
- Vlad is easily brushed aside, but remains smiling.
- (Vlad Dragimir)
- Erebus had a quite fiendish smirk upon his face.. He honestly liked the kids bravery, such a thing was useful... With development, Erebus could really turn that bravery and honestly into a great hunter, but that was only an after thought of what really was about to happen, right now..
- "...…….
- I... don't believe you... Nope, i'm not sold.. I can smell your mana, Edwin...
- Tis nothing but a bluff.. But i'll take it, as a matter of fact i'll raise you and give Vlad to fight with..
- But no, that's not enough, see you're going for the money here aren't you, so i'll.. hmm, lets see i'll match that resolve by taking one of you with me, provided I feel like it.." Erebus said this with QUITE the smug demeanor. He meant everything he said..
- "You can't walk away from this, you must face it..
- Now, choose.. you have one minute.."
- (Erebus)
- "Who the heck are you, dude? This is between me an' that big fella'. Alright? I got beef with him, an' I intend to settle it--once an' for all, yeah? He did me dirty last time," he promptly glances towards the hooded swordsman. His attention isn't fixed for very long, however, as a pair of iridescent golden eyes land on Erebus once again.
- The young magi grits his teeth, flaring his nostrils as the demon continues with his taunting antics. It was working. In an instant, golden energy began to spew out from Erwin's body in a violent and unrefined display. It was clear he didn't have very much control over it.
- "Shut up," he takes a heavy step forwards. "I don't need anyone else to step in with me. This is my fight. And I'm not going to waste another moment talkin' about this," he cocks his arm behind his back as cosmic energybegins to gather in the form of surging orb.
- "So cut the mumbo jumbo!"
- Without warning, the kid flashes towards Erebus. He was afraid, and it showed.. but it only seemed to strengthen his resolve and remove any spec of hesitation that might have otherwise stopped him.
- (Edwin Brincourt)
- Erebus smiled, this was extremely amusing... The young demon had experienced hate, bloodlust, confidence etc from humans, but bravery was one that He'd yet to encounter..
- And he was loving it, such a wildly passionate mortal had won Erebus's respect but that didn't mean he could just let go of what he said.. He too made gave his word and he was going to stick to it..
- Dark energies began to wrap and swirl around Erebus's form before bursting into a fiery aura..
- Lifting his left hand, he'd manifest a scythe of black into his palm.... "Come then, both of you.. Give me a good show!" Erebus DEMANDED as he prepared for battle..
- (Erebus)
- Vlad barely seems to understand what's going on- nevertheless, he draws his sword, likely of a foreign make, pointing at one of them, then the other- then back to the first, and so on.
- "A show? What kind of show? Ahaa..."
- He tugs at his collar a little. Things sure are heating up.
- (Vlad Dragimir)
- In all honestly, Erebus was a little wrong for this since they were weak but, Erebus was getting blue balled and cockblocked by any and everyone when he was about to hunt someone...
- He needed this, it was like a fix that he was withdrawing from. Put simply, his rage and bloodlust could not be suppressed any longer.. He would hunt!
- Erebus would hurl his Scythe at Vlad which turned into a ring of darkness that impacted then wrapped around his form. This kept him at bay enough for The demon to stop the little hero's lunge with a wall of darkness before using that same darkness to blast the boy point blank...
- Walking forward with a 'chaotic' aura, that flailed wildly viscously like a wild fire.. "Is that all, I thought you trained? Oh yeah, it was by a teacher that I blasted into the ground.. At elemental form no less..
- Now that I think of it, where is that mortal.. I wish to see if he at least has gotten stronger..." He taunted as he walked right infront of the currently down Edwin..
- Now seeming disappointed yet still fiendishly gleeful..
- (Erebus)
- Naturally, Edwin was minced meat within seconds. He lacked the ability to hold his own against the demon, and rightfully so. He was lucky to have the hooded swordsman at his side, else Edwin would've suffered much more strenuous injuries.
- His eyes rolled back behind his head as a mixture of blood and saliva forcibly exited his mouth, the child's frame tossed across the ground like a rag-doll. He pushed himself up off the ground, gradually standing up as he wobbled back and forth in place.
- When the smoke cleared it was evident that the darkness tore his shirt to shreds, revealing the deep crescent shaped scar on his torso for all to see. It was pretty gruesome.
- Weakly, Edwin held both of his fists forwards again. His body was covered in scrapes and bruises, and his wobbling seemed to intensify. It seemed as though he was going to fall flat onto his face.
- But then, he slammed a single foot into the ground. The young Valmasian released a cry of vigor, shouting the name that had just revealed itself.
- "ANIOS!"
- The golden energy around his body became considerably more prominent, and soon enough, golden lines began to stretch across his skin. The smell of burning skin filled the air as small wisps of steam rose from the strange markings. His whole body was introduced to a new combination of pain and power.
- "M' not done, not yet.. so keep your fists up an' yer wits about ya', otherwise I'm gonna' beat you into the ground," he charged forwards once more.
- (Edwin Brincourt)
- "Good...Good... Get up and fight me."
- The young demon lord said, his mood swung back to happy that Edwin got up.. He wanted more out of the boy, wanting to see just how far he was willing to do go..
- Testing him, in a way..
- "Don't disappoint me Mortals.." Erebus said before allowing the two to dash at him. While this occurred, his ears twitched at the new arrivals.. All Valmasian people and one.. Tree?
- Their scent vaguely familiar, but he doesn't have time to think about it sense Edwin is actually kinda fast..
- (Erebus)
- {RP BATTLE} You have LOST round 2!
- {RP BATTLE} You have LOST the battle!
- {RP BATTLE} {INJURY} You roll a d6... You get 5!
- {RP BATTLE} {CAPTURE} You roll a d6... You get 3!
- {RP BATTLE} YOU ROLLED 5 OR OVER: You have survived combat without any serious injuries.
- {RP BATTLE} YOU HAVE ROLLED 3 OR OVER: You have evaded capture by your enemy! (Unless otherwise specified, your character may escape captivity)
- Vlad Dragimir has sustained an injury in battle...
- Vlad Dragimir has rolled 3 or over: they may escape capture attempts (unless otherwise specified)!
- The show lasted for much longer than it could have ended with Erebus dancing around.. Taking all of the attacks and brushing them off without a scratch..
- Now with a amused smiled upon the demon's face, he'd yawn and raise his left hand to shoot a Frieza Style death laser through Vlad's chest.. This blew the fake vampire back, sliding on the ground eventually.
- Now leaving Edwin to the 1v1, Erebus said, "Seems you were unable to protect the little vamp over there, little hero.. Now lets see how you fair against the big bad villain..hahaha" This actually sounded more comical than serious..
- Suggesting towards something..
- However, despite this the mortal still dashed forward, forever valiant.
- Albeit he was met with a wall of illusionary force that seemed to halt his movement and then push back with the same force..
- Knocking the hero to the ground again...
- Finally, Erebus, with his tail villainously whipping back and forth, arrived in front of Edwin.. "Are you done yet, you herioically foolish mortal?"
- (Erebus)
- Erwin's skin was burning furiously. He felt power rushing through his body, granted to him by the very skies above. It was too much.. so much so that it burned his skin. It didn't last for long, though. Whatever power had been granted to him on behalf of the stars had left as soon as it had arrived.
- Anios..
- The name stuck with him. He didn't know what it meant, or how it related to his abilities, but he knew that it offered him some semblance of comfort amidst their skirmish. He felt like he had someone, or something, watching over him.
- The young magi relentlessly threw himself back into the fray, over and over until he felt his body succumb to the fatigue of physical and magical exhaustion. That, coupled with the advances of his opponent, left the young man virtually incapitated.
- As he fell onto the ground once more, the golden hue of his irises dimmed and the regular teal-green emerged once again. He had pushed hisbody beyond his limits, more so than he had ever done before, and for a moment he thought himself finished.
- Suddenly, a surge of wind picked up around him. He sprung to his feet as a violent tempest shot him forwards towards the hooded swordsman. In one swift action, he lifted him with both hands and propelled himself away from the demon and over behind Rea.
- "Huff.. huff. It's thanks to this guy that m' not dead. Foolish, maybe. But I'm not a complete idiot.. usually. This guy has done me right by watchin' my back while I was thinkin' with my balls instead of my brain."
- He slowly places him down, and then wobbles in place over him in a protective manner. "M' not strong enough to kick your ass yet, but.. once I finish my training, m' gonna' hit you so hard with the good ol' one two you'll be seein' stars the next morning."
- (Edwin Brincourt)
