Moe: This time you are drawing Mayu!
Please tell us your thoughts on her!

Itaru: Whilst drawing her this time, I suddenly went “Oh yeah, she’s borrowing her uniform”
By the time I realised it was already too late, and I kinda regretted not making it look more oversized and loose-fitting…

Moe: Mayu wearing an oversized uniform… I bet it would look super cute!

Itaru: I realised after having already drawn quite a few of the event CGs, I really should’ve made it look more oversized…

Moe: She has those overly long sleeves, so I think at least those look pretty oversized!
Combined with that, or maybe it’s even because of it, Mayu is the kind of character you really want to protect.

Itaru: I guess it’s also cause she seems the most unreliable…

Moe: I remember her age was unknown… but she was quite a bit smaller in comparison to the rest of the characters?

Itaru: I don’t really remember…

Moe: Well maybe it’s more interesting that she’s surrounded in a little bit of mystery! Haha

Itaru: The music was very much down to the directors wishes,
Fhana’s music is so good I keep listening to it on repeat.

Moe: fhana’s music really has this ephemeral atmosphere, it’s wonderful!

Itaru: I was surprised to find out their group name comes from CLANNAD!

Moe: It’s almost as if it was fate!

Itaru: It really is!
It makes me feel like someone who really understands the feel and atmosphere of ONE. was the one to make the music, I think it’s so great that we were able to have fhana write the music for this game

Moe: It really matches the feel of the game doesn’t it. I’m really looking forward to listening to the full version!

Itaru: I didn’t have any involvement in choosing the voice actors, but after I heard who had been chosen I couldn’t believe how it was entirely well-renowned, highly-regarded voice actors.

Moe: It definitely feels like they have a deep understanding of the character, and they have all really brought them to life

Itaru: Everyone has done such an outstanding job at voicing the characters!

Moe: Mio with her cute giggle and the sound of her breath really stood out in particular.

Itaru: It’s much easier to read her emotions this way rather than her having no voice at all!

Moe: Do you usually listen to music?

Itaru: I do. I listen to music on my commute to work!

Moe: What do you like listening to at the moment?

Itaru: Usually I like just listening to anime music, but for the past few years I have been listening to Yabai TShatsu-yasan, Dempagumi.inc, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, etc.
Recently I have begun to listen to King Gnu, Vaundy, Eve etc.

Moe: You listen to quite a lot regardless of genre then!

Itaru: Yeah I listen to a lot of genres!
Pretty much everyone sings along to anime music…!

Moe: So you discover a lot of your music through anime?

Itaru: Yes!

Moe: It’s quite common to discover good artists through anime.
I discovered fhana’s music this way.

Itaru: Yes I discovered fhana through Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid!

Moe: They did the opening themes for both season 1 and 2 didn’t they!
It’ll be really nice if people discover ONE. through fhana, or discover fhana through ONE.

Itaru: I would be so happy!! I’d be honoured if that were to happen.

Tell me a series/game that you are really into at the moment!

Itaru: Jujutsu Kaisen and Bungo Stray Dogs

Moe: Who is your favourite character?

Itaru: From Jujutsu Kaisen it’s Gojou-sensei, and from Bungo Stray Dogs it’s Dazai Osamu.

Moe: What do you like about them?

Itaru: Handsome faces! Handsome voices!

Moe: Do you have a type of character that you tend to always like?

Itaru: I had never really thought about it before but I think I quite like mature characters!

Moe: Do you have something that you really want right now?

Itaru: I want a Huggy-wuggy plush toy, and also the Hamikuma headband!

Moe: We spoke about it quite a bit during the Mio interview, but you really like the horror genre!

Itaru: Horror is great. It’s really amusing.
Hamikuma is a character from Universal Studios Japan, he’s so popular I haven’t been able to buy any of the goods.

Moe: Hopefully you are able to get them!
Do you go to USJ quite often?

Itaru: Sometimes! Recently I went to see the One Piece Premiere Show there.
I go every year, but it really is a great show!


Moe: We were able to see a new side to Itaru-sensei!
