  1. (one of the random X scenes because i’m lazy and DO not wanna write the beginning)
  2.
  3.
  4. “Hey, X,” Connor asked, knocking on the door loudly. Sounds of video games came from within the dorm room, with various shouts of “Dammit!” and “Yes!”
  5.
  6. After a minute or two, the door finally slid open to reveal X, who had a proud expression on his face.
  7.
  8. “Hey. What’s up?” X spoke, holding a wireless controller in his hand. In the background, a victory scene displayed on the TV, Connor rubbed the back of his head, and asked to come in.
  9.
  10. “What’s wrong? Where’s Chim-Chim?” X sat back down on the couch, motioning for Connor to sit down in one of the chairs.
  11.
  12. “Can’t trust him not to snitch.” Conor sighed, missing his best robot friend dearly. X frowned, wondering what could be so bad that even the small robot monkey couldn’t know.
  13.
  14. “So, spill. Why can’t you trust Chim-Chim?” X asked, confusion evident in his voice. “And why would you go to me for this?”
  15.
  16. Conor felt his heart speed up, nervousness starting to pool throughout his body. “Well, y-you see…”
  17.
  18. He already had told Lucy, so what harm could telling your crushes brother do?
  19.
  20. ‘Everything,’ Conor thought despairingly, putting his head into his hands.
  21.
  22. “Come on, what’s wrong?” X asked once more, his voice becoming softer in volume. Conor took a steadying breath before whispering out his confession, hopefully loud enough for X to hear.
  23.
  24. “I’m in love with Speed,” He whispered, flinching when he felt X still.
  25.
  26. “You’re in love with my dorky brother?” X asked, astonished. Conor looked up at X questioningly, but felt his apprehension slowly fade away.
  27.
  28. “Yeah.” He confirmed, sitting back in his chair. X whistled, looking towards his TV.
  29.
  30. “So, did you like, want my blessing or something?” X joked, looking back towards Conor. Conor felt a smile slowly crept onto his face, immensely grateful that X is taking this well.
  31.
  32. “Actually, I wanted to ask you something.” Connor said, before finally popping the question.
  33.
  34. “If you had to guess… What do you think would be the best way to ask him out?”
  35.
  36. X sat back onto the couch, a thoughtful expression on his face.
  37.
  38. “I just… don’t want to mess it up.” Connor added on, a nervous laugh penetrating his sentence. X shook his head before going back to thinking. After what seemed like a lifetime, he picked up his head and spoke.
  39.
  40. “If I had to guess… I mean, I know he likes cheesy things you know? Don’t try to be all unique and stuff.”
  41.
  42. X looked away from Connor again, speaking in a softer tone. “Honestly, if he really loves you, then I think he’d accept any confession you’d give. But if you want that extra security,” X trailed off, and Connor immediately felt his head fill with ideas.
  43.
  44. “Great idea, X!” Connor spoke up excitedly, jumping up from his chair. After a moment though, a worrying thought passed through his head, making his smile drop off of his face.
  45.
  46. “But, what… what if he doesn’t swing that way?” Connor spoke, sitting back down dejectedly. X shook his head.
  47.
  48. “Hey, worst that could happen is that he doesn’t feel the same way. No big deal.” Connor felt his eyes widen at X’s answer, anxiety rising up in him.
  49.
  50. “No big deal!? He could want to end our friendship- or even worse, hate me!” Connor wailed, making X grimace.
  51.
  52. “Oh come on, he wouldn’t do that to you. You guys are like, the best of best friends. Even if he doesn’t love you romantically, he still cares about you a ton.”
  53.
  54. X stared at Connor’s form and sighed, feeling sorry for the mechanic. “Look, I’ll.. I’ll ask him later alright?”
  55.
  56. Connor looked at X with a hopeful look, and smiled. “Y.. You’d do that for me?”
  57.
  58. “It's depressing looking at you upset about this.”
  59.
  60. Connor laughed for a moment before standing up again, waving at X.
  61.
  62. “Thanks for your help, X.”
  63.
  64. Connor walked out of X’s dorm, feeling lighter than he had in awhile. X just chuckled before turning back to his game, saying quietly.
  65.
  66. “Dorks.”
  67.
  68. ————————————————-
  69.
  70. "Racers, start your engines!" The announcer's voice rang out through out the track, making everyone go quiet. The thrumming roar of the engines were the only sound that you could hear from the gigantic stadium.
  71.
  72. "Virtual Track activated." An AI's voice spoke as the rings for the track went up, instilling a sense of excitement for the onlookers.
  73.
  74. "Go!"
  75.
  76. The racers tore off to race towards the virtual track entrance. Naturally, the Racer Brothers, Speed and X, were leading the entire group.
  77.
  78. The track for that day was the digital world, which meant it would be a tough race. X grinned, knowing it would be the perfect time to pop the question.
  79.
  80. He pressed a button to connect to Speed's comm system, and sat back.
  81.
  82. "So, little bro," He started, dodging a block of green coming at him. "You know you can trust me with anything, right?"
  83.
  84. Speed looked at X with confusion, wondering why exactly he was talking about this now.
  85.
  86. "Uh, X, right now might not be the best time.." Speed trailed off quietly, trying to focus on the track instead of X's voice.
  87.
  88. "I think right now is a great time," X spoke, quickly passing Speed in 2nd place. "Come on, we're way more ahead than those losers,"
  89.
  90. Speed sighed frustratedly before shaking his head, replying with a curt "If I indulge you, will you promise to not bother me for the rest of this race?"
  91.
  92. "Deal,"
  93.
  94. X was glad his smile was concealed by his helmet. He quickly asked his question, catching Speed off guard.
  95.
  96. "So, you meet any cute girls?"
  97.
  98. He saw Speed looked confused for a moment before he shook his head.
  99.
  100. "No, X, I haven't," Speed said, exasperated. X pushed further, adding on a "You sure?"
  101.
  102. "Yes X, pretty sure…" He dodged another obstacle, already tired of this conversation.
  103.
  104. "Well, okay.." He trailed off, trying to play off the dumb card well. He waited until a moment where Speed would be fully distracted to ask the question he had been waiting for.
  105.
  106. "How about… any cute boys?"
  107.
  108. He saw Speed freeze up for a complete moment, and X almost felt sorry for asking during the race.
  109.
  110. “Huh- no, dude,” He replied back, not realizing what he was saying.
  111.
  112. ‘Connor’s gonna be happy,’ was all X could think before he heard an indignant shout through his comm system.
  113.
  114. “Wait- shit!”
  115.
  116. The last five seconds replayed through Speed’s head, making him realize what he said. How had X known? Was- was he upset?”
  117.
  118. “Good luck in the race, Speedy,” X spoke before closing the connection, making Speed panic.
  119.
  120. “Oh god,” Speed mumbled, surprised when Lucy popped up onto the screen.
  121.
  122. “You okay? X held the connection for a while,” She asked, a worried look on her face. Speed nodded, focusing back onto the track.
  123.
  124. “I’m fine, Luce, don’t worry,” He replied, mentally freaking out in his head.
  125.
  126. ‘If you count out the fact I accidentally came out to my brother,’ He thought, before letting the race consume his thoughts once again.
  127.
  128. —————————
  129. “Come to my dorm after dinner, I got something to tell you,”
  130.
  131. Connor quickly shut his phone screen after reading the text, making Lucy and Speed suspicious.
  132.
  133. “What’s up?” Speed asked, making Connor grimace.
  134.
  135. “Oh, it’s nothing! Just something my mom sent me,” Connor laughed it off, shoving the offending object back into his pocket.
  136.
  137. “What did she send you to make you close it that quickly?” Lucy inquired lightly, already mostly sure what text he had gotten. Speed nodded along to Lucy’s question, also confused.
  138.
  139. “She just likes to complain about stuff around the house, it’s nothing,” Connor waved off her question, kicking her in the leg. She smiled at the action, confirming her suspicions. Speed seemed to accept that answer, and went back to his dinner.
  140.
  141. “By the way, did you guys hear? The summer solstice marathons coming up soon,” Lucy spoke, checking her phone.
  142.
  143. Speed brightened up at that news, exclaiming excitedly. “Oh, yeah! I heard they’re doing multiple tracks this year. I’m so psyched for it!”
  144.
  145.
  146. “And I’ve already started work on the Mach 6 for it!” Connor announced proudly, throwing out his hands out above him. “You guys are gonna love it!”
  147.
  148. “Do we get to know what you’re gonna add to the Mach 6?” Speed jokingly asked, and Connor shook his head quickly.
  149.
  150. “Nope! It’s a secret!”
  151.
  152. Speed faked a pout while Lucy laughed
