  1. [12:57] Agathion Mal'phas says, "Hi."
  2. [12:57] Lavinia Walters exclaims, "Howdy!"
  3. [12:58] Agathion Mal'phas says, "Give me all of your coins."
  4. [12:58] Lavinia just stares.
  5. (Lavinia Walters)
  6. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  7.
  8. [12:59] Lavinia Walters says, "Maybe if y'say please."
  9. [12:59] Agathion extends a hand, obviously in wait for the aforementioned coin.
  10. (Agathion Mal'phas)
  11. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  12.
  13. [12:59] Agathion Mal'phas says, "No, no, no. That isn't how this works."
  14. [12:59] Lavinia Walters says, "Says who."
  15. [12:59] Agathion Mal'phas says, "Me."
  16. [12:59] Lavinia Walters exclaims, "And who are you? I'm Lavinia!"
  17. [13:00] Crimson eyes narrowed.
  18.
  19. Surely she seemed to think this was some sort of game, though he didn't feel the need to play.
  20.
  21. "I am Agathion, a demon. I don't really care for your name, all I ask if that you hand over your coin to me before I'm forced to do something that..." Pausing, he'd examine the Drakanite more carefully. She certainly didn't seem like much.
  22.
  23. "Something that I'm sure you'd rather me not do."
  24. (Agathion Mal'phas)
  25. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  26.
  27. [13:07] Lips pursed as she kept large fish eyes directed at the mugging demon. One had grasped her pouch, opening it as the other hand dove into it. Lavinia was searching for something, but what could it be? Clings and clangs of metal could be heard.
  28.
  29. "Mister Agathion! A simpler name t'remember than some others. Can't tell ya' how happy I am t'hear that, m'hm. Think I saw ya' around the tower a couple o'times.
  30.
  31. Her hand still didn't emerge from the pouch, her gaze remaining fixed onto the menacing demon.
  32.
  33. "I'd rather you not ask fer money! It ain't somethin' a demon should give too much care 'bout! Y'need yer servants to mug me, m'hm, m'hm! Or at least produce a daily income, m'hm! Unless ..."
  34.
  35. Tilting her head, instead of finishing, she'd peer down at her pouch. The noises stopped, as she remained completely still.
  36. (Lavinia Walters)
  37. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  38.
  39. [13:12] Oh...?
  40.
  41. As the rummaging through the Drakanite's pouch was heard, he could only surmise that the coin which he sought after would soon be offered, causing a smile to spread across the demon's features.
  42.
  43. Though instead he was met with words, talk of how demons shouldn't aspire to gain coin from others?
  44.
  45. "Interesting... I'll admit, you're right in a sense-- I'm not one that cares too much for coin. My main attention goes towards growth though... in order to be the strongest I can, I require coin to purchase specific items.
  46.
  47. Also no-- I'd never ask a servant to go around and mug people. Why do that when it's much more fun for me to do it myself?" After all, if a servant had been sent out to do this then he'd still be standing around bored within the confines of Moonfall Village.
  48. (Agathion Mal'phas)
  49. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  50.
  51. [13:19] The suspense could end, as she'd reveal what she had concealed in her pouch. Three irons! The goods she had just gotten when the demon barged in.
  52.
  53. "Best I can do is three of 'em irons, m'hm! I hear they sell good to 'em artificers who are growin'. Best material to work with!"
  54.
  55. If his had was still extended, she'd seek to give him the three ingots. Given how dirty she was, it wouldn't be too farfetched to assume it was pretty much the equivalent of her net value.
  56.
  57. "If y'need a specific item, y'can always ask Madame Sushila, m'hm. Always willing t'help fellow demons and denizens like me. Yup! And if yer bored, 'em knights been roaming 'round Moonfall a whole lot, m'hm! Ekh'lauq even got ambushed, m'hm!"
  58.
  59. Her smile was consistent, very little fear or anxiety to be noticed. A strange phenomenon, given how frightened she had been before. The demon was likely much stronger than her, but that seemed to not factor in.
  60.
  61. "But I can't give ya' the coins. No. I need 'em for specific work for Lady Veles. Gotta buy 'em ingredients in different shops fer special fabrications, m'hm."
  62. (Lavinia Walters)
  63. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  64.
  65. [13:24] Three mere ingots of iron. Though his hand was still extended, it wouldn't accept them, rather they'd be slapped away.
  66.
  67. "I said that I wanted your coin." He'd reiterate, this time frowning. "I didn't ask who it's for, I didn't ask why you can't give it to me. All that matters to me is it being handed over.
  68.
  69. If this 'Lady Veles' person has a problem with it, then you can tell her to take it up with me later." A strong hint of annoyance could be heard within the Mal'phas' tone as the air around him began to grow dense.
  70.
  71. "But... ah, you know what? I have a better idea. Let's play a game. I'm going to attack you and take them by force, if you're able to escape then you win!
  72.
  73. Sounds fun, mmn?"
  74. (Agathion Mal'phas)
  75. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  76.
  77. [13:31] "Tsk!"
  78.
  79. She scrambled to pick up the scraps! Iron was quite valuable after all, even in such a tense situation, Lavinia wasn't going to let this ore go to waste.
  80.
  81. "'Ey, I like t'give m'reasons fer denying! I'm tasked with a big job, y'know!"
  82.
  83. Lavinia sighed, putting away the resources in her pouch as she give a more defiant eye to the demon mugger.
  84.
  85. "I don't think I like that game too much."
  86.
  87. Her particularly shiny and fancy metal stick was clenched. While she did act like a ditz, she wasn't oblivious to the threat at hand.
  88.
  89. "Nnnnggg this is gonna be hard to explain to Daemia ..."
  90.
  91. A light drop of sweat tricked down from her temple with all her priorities straightened out.
  92. (Lavinia Walters)
  93. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  94.
  95. [13:36] There it was... he could tell she now understood the gravity of the situation. The way the girl's weapon had been grabbed, she knew what was coming next.
  96.
  97. The once wide grin had returned to Agathion's features once more, it was always fun to battle. As for him? The dark blade forged of mythril and demon bones that sat ever so comfortably strapped to is back would be grabbed by it's hilt and brought forwards.
  98.
  99. "Don't like it...? Come now, you should try to lighten up a bit...
  100.
  101. there's nothing more fun than battle." He'd state. The flow of time around his form beginning to distort as he took control of it. Then, without any sort of warning, a shadow would extend to strike.
  102. (Agathion Mal'phas)
  103. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  104.
  105. [13:54] ** Agathion Mal'phas has inflicted an injury upon Lavinia Walters. ("Occult Hourglass", "An hourglass visible on the woman's arm, counting down by means of magic. Until healed, causes the character to feel physically weaker.", "Temporary", "Duration: Medium (4 days)") **
  106. [14:03] It had begun, a clash between himself and a Drakanite that at first glance didn't seem like a very remarkable opponent, however Agathion had learned time and time again, that looks could be deceiving.
  107.
  108. Perhaps he'd end up surprised by the Walter's latent abilities?
  109.
  110. Regardless, charge forwards dishing out a barrage of sphered made from both occult and time magic. Unfortunately for his opponent that proved to be an up-close fighter, the demon was also capable of rotting the surrounding area around him with his prowess of occult magic, something that those who got too close surely not enjoy.
  111.
  112. This did prove to be a good practice of his sword skills, the Fel Cleaver which Agathion carried would be rose to parry as well as block the Walter's strikes.
  113.
  114. Though ultimately, he grew bored.
  115.
  116. "Tch… you were right, this ain't fun after all." He'd mutter, disappointed by the battle. At some point during their bout, the demon seemingly disappeared, vanishing into the shadows before re-appearing just beside her in her own shadow and placing a strange mark upon her skin.
  117.
  118. It burned with the occult, one in the shape of an hour glass that managed to count down by means of time magic.
  119.
  120. "Here's your reward for playing with me.
  121.
  122. Now go, get out of here." Raising a hand, he'd yawn into it, thinking about all of the other ways this time could've been spent better.
  123. (Agathion Mal'phas)
  124. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  125.
  126. [14:14] There wasn't much to do here, merely charge and hope for a nice sucker punch. Lavinia had little grasp on her magic, her shift as a drakanite being more of a natural next step than any sort of prowess. Added to that, beyond physical capabilities, she was null in the ability department.
  127.
  128. It didn't help that the opponent had a knack for keeping distance and laying traps. Traps that she'd fall for, due to quite the lack of experience in combat. It wasn't as devastating as Ekh'lauq, it lacked the raw power and illusionary hampering, but resulted in mostly the same.
  129.
  130. Maybe a hard smack at the face or two had occurred, but otherwise, the demon was live and well after that exchange. Lavinia, on the other hand, was totally Yamcha'd. Covered in occultic burns, some scratches and marks of light decay on her skin. Nasty.
  131.
  132. "Mmmmnn, I ain't givin' …"
  133.
  134. She growled. Well, no, more like meowed. Lightly. She was beat after all. But she stayed defiant. Her scales were heating up, meshing with excess mana she couldn't yet utilize. Her hands clenched the pouch with her items and gold, using her body as shield against the assailant.
  135.
  136. A defiant look remained. One with an inordinate amount of anger and revulsion. One rather uncharacteristic of her behaviour, even when beaten up. Her mana kept on flaring around her being, mimicking a flame and intensifying as she maintained her glare.
  137. (Lavinia Walters)
  138. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  139.
  140. [14:19] Hiding with the trees, most likely undetected, was Abaddon. Had it been anyone else, apart from his Brother, he would surely had interfered, although the odds just weren't in his favour.
  141.
  142. Descending from masses of lumber and leaves, he would land, staring down at the cliff, crimson eyes locking visage at Agathion.
  143.
  144. His intentions were to stay silent, at least until Lavinia left the vicinity.
  145. (Abaddon Mal'phas)
  146. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  147.
  148. [14:21] Standing there, he'd watch the fallen Drakanite-- it was admirable how she continued to clench her belongings even now, seemingly caring about it more than her life.
  149.
  150. "I suppose you winged-humans can have some descent traits after all. What you lack in strength is made up for with determination to keep your belongings.
  151.
  152. Don't fret, I don't care about them any more." He'd add, prior to turning and walking off if the Drakanite didn't have anything else to say.
  153. (Agathion Mal'phas)
  154. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  155.
  156. [14:26] Lavinia was simply not going down without a fight, and she'd fight to the end. It wasn't some demon that was going to dictate how she'd fall, or how she'd fail. Even when defeated, she stood strong. Bit of a dangerous mindset, but one rather compatible with the belligerent world the monsters had brought.
  157.
  158. Slowly, she found the strength to stand. Her defiant glare did not leave Agathion. Like a lesser predator fixating a rival, much mightier apex. It knew it couldn't do much against it, but the ferocity was just as potent.
  159.
  160. A light sigh, as the demon was resigned to leave. It was uncertain if it was of relief or not.
  161.
  162. "Y'could've just asked nicely …"
  163.
  164. She added with her mousey voice, before carefully choosing her own path to depart from this little, not so mundane event.
  165. (Lavinia Walters)
  166. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  167.
  168. [14:31] He knew that look within her eyes, it may very well have been the same glare he'd given to Seneval upon defeat. How interesting, how amusing.
  169.
  170. "I could've, but where would the fun in that be? Why ask nicely when I can simply take what I want. I bet I know what you're thinking 'oh, but you weren't able to take it?' That's simply because I've lost interest.
  171.
  172. There's no telling how I'll feel the next time we meet, however. You should train, become stronger... and if you someday manage to defeat me? That'll be fun."
  173.
  174. The thought of it caused his smile to widen. But, until then...
  175.
  176. "I'll be waiting."
  177. (Agathion Mal'phas)
  178. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  179.
  180. [14:32] Lavinia kept a close eye still, before trailing off.
  181. (Lavinia Walters)
  182. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
