  1. (It’s the end of one of the events where the July 26 Movement preached about what was to be the revolution that would catapult them to the highest stratospheres of fame—the Cuban Revolution—and the revolutionaries are in the marina, preparing to leave Tuxpan, Mexico and head back to Cuba.
  2.
  3. While storing their equipment, Che thinks about the theory they just preached. He feels confident in it, and decides to talk to Fidel about it. Guevara had at that point finished storing his gun, and so walked to where Fidel was.
  4.
  5. At that moment, Fidel was finishing up storing his gun, but it wouldn’t be very long before things would head in a different direction indeed.)
  6.
  7. “You know, Fidel, this theory is quite superb if I say so myself” said Guevara
  8.
  9. Fidel replies “I’d argue that ‘quite superb’ would be quite the understatement, but I’m not the one who’ll determine whether this stuff will do good.”
  10.
  11. “I have a feeling it will” said Che, giving a bit of a smile.
  12.
  13. “I appreciate your enthusiasm, but you don’t need to phone it in, Che,” replied Fidel before continuing “It’s always a risk with the masses, trying to push forward with a new ideology. Not all revolutionaries manage to do it, but I think we’ve so far been one of those few movements that have managed to do so. Our movement’s not the biggest, but to be honest, I kinda like it that way.”
  14.
  15. “It’s hard to say what our futures will be. We’ve had a good run, but who knows what kinda stuff will happen? For now, we just have to kind of enjoy the moment” said Che, exhaling a bit.
  16.
  17. “Guys! We should probably start heading on outside. We don’t want to keep the yacht waiting!” exclaimed Raul.
  18.
  19. “Alright, I’m coming,” replied Fidel.
  20.
  21. “Me too,” added Guevara.
  22.
  23. (At that point, Raul and Camilo opened the door and went on out. Che and Fidel followed, with Fidel closing the door. Now outside, Fidel went into the corner. Taking the pack of cigars out from his pocket, he grabbed a cigar and lit it. Che, for his part, decided to head to where Fidel was at.)
  24.
  25. “You know, Fidel, it definitely feels a bit weird having you do all the revolution planning. You’re quite good at it, don’t get me wrong, but all our rebellions so far have been a collaborative thing—just a bunch of guys shooting stuff and making headway as best we can—so it’s definitely a change to have you do all the planning,” said Guevara.
  26.
  27. (Fidel took a drag off his cigar. After inhaling the smoke and slowly exhaling it, he turned to Che.)
  28.
  29. “Like I said earlier, movements change. We’ve done things a certain way for a while, but now it’s time to change it up again. I have a feeling I’ll probably keep on planning policies for quite a while,” replied Fidel.
  30.
  31. “I guess that’s true,” began Guevara, before continuing, “but part of me misses writing my own policies. This set of policies is your baby. At that point, it won’t be long before you start implementing them all, and then, what use would we be for you?”
  32.
  33. “Che,” began Fidel as he inhaled and exhaled the cigar, “even if these policies are ludicrously successful, the fact is that I’m part of this movement. We all are. Now, might things change at some point? Maybe. But it’s too early to be worrying about what might happen.”
  34.
  35. (Fidel at this point takes another drag off his cigar.)
  36.
  37. “Fidel, to be honest, I’m afraid of you. The material you showed really has the potential to take us to heights that we haven’t reached before. Could you imagine us being a super huge revolutionary government? I can, and that thought both excites and scares the crap out of me.”
  38.
  39. “Well, if you’re so scared, why are you still in the movement?” said Fidel.
  40.
  41. “Honestly, it’s ‘cause I have a feeling that I belong here. You guys are sorta like my second family, but of you all, I like you the most, Fidel,” replied Che.
  42.
  43. (Fidel took another drag off his cigar, inhaling the smoke before slowly letting it out.)
  44.
  45. “Look, Che,” started Fidel before continuing, “I don’t love you that way. At the same time though, I’m not gonna pass up an opportunity to have a sexual revolution with you. As long as you know that it’d only be in the form of one-night stands, I’m good with fucking you.”
  46.
  47. “You know, Fidel,” said Che, “sexual revolution sounds like a title that’d make for a great socialist policy. I’d love to implement it.”
  48.
  49. “Well, I haven’t thought of it that way, but the idea sounds good enough,” replied Fidel.
  50.
  51. “So, are we gonna do anything tonight?” inquired Che.
  52.
  53. “Yep,” replied Fidel.
  54.
  55. (Suddenly, the honking of a yacht could be heard approaching. Raul called out to the band.)
  56.
  57. “Guys! The yacht is here! Let’s get on!” replied Raul exuberantly.
  58.
  59. (Fidel at that moment took one last drag off his cigar before putting it out. He gave Guevara a small hug before boarding on the bus. Guevara before long followed, and Camilo, well, was Camilo. Once all inside, the yacht closed its doors as it headed on its route—one which would take the revolutionaries to Cuba.)
