Among nerds who slum it here, [this Death Battle](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fyh2iO0rCh4) is kinda controversial. But watching that made me wonder about a weird question: what actually is the upper limit for Gundam relative to the upper limit of Transformers as a franchise?

In Gundam's case, that'd be [WD-M01 Turn A Gundam](https://gundam.fandom.com/wiki/System-%E2%88%8099_%E2%88%80_Gundam) and [all](https://gundam.fandom.com/wiki/RX-0_Unicorn_Gundam_03_Phenex) [three](https://gundam.fandom.com/wiki/RX-0_Full_Armor_Unicorn_Gundam_Plan_B) [units](https://gundam.fandom.com/wiki/RX-0%EF%BC%BBN%EF%BC%BD_Unicorn_Gundam_02_Banshee_Norn) of RX-0 Unicorn Gundam. If we take them to the wide world of Transfomers, how far can they go?

1. In which editions do they make a lasting impression, and which versions would just flatten them to the ground?

2. How much of an asset would they be to Optimus Prime, the Autobots and their allies?

I wanna go further than just one-on-one engagements here. How does Gundam's best measure up against the pantheon in Cybertron?

What I find funny about ScrewAttack's treatment of Gundam is that the base model gets whapped by G1 Optimus who is clearly leagues above a first-generation prototype, but their no-research DBX side has the [Thunder Megazord](https://www.reddit.com/r/respectthreads/comments/11t4dt8/respect_the_thunder_megazord_mighty_morphin_power/), which is continental-level at max when scaled to Rita Repulsa, [eating shit from the God Gundam](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-a1iQxg6n2w) without ever going gold, to say nothing of the classic [Tigerzord vs Epyon](https://www.reddit.com/r/whowouldwin/comments/2u451y/death_battle_35_tigerzord_vs_gundam_epyon/) match. The high-tiers of Gundam absolutely can keep up with Cybertronians, and Optimus would be immensely thankful for the help Banagher and this cohort you assembled can give, as the mere idea of resetting from zero or outright temporal control is gonna be hellaciously vital.

Actual fights I don't know because I ain't diving into comic feats on the Transformers side, where some of the more impressive feats tend to lie (someone more knowledgeable can fill me in), but rest assured: the best of Gundam will make for an army that'd make Megatron think twice about messing with Earth. At minimum, they'd roll past Bayformers.
