  3. Hi everybody!
  4.
  5. As a consequence of some people (mainly friends, and 1 reddit person) asking for suggestions about the creation of a Nox macro to farm experience, today I created a video explaining step-by-step how to do it. For whoever might not know some of the words I've used till here, here's a quick description to catch-up:
  6.
  7. NOX: it's an emulator which allows you to run multiple "apps" (like duel links) by using files called "APK"; you can download it by googling it .
  8.
  9. APK: it's a "file" representing 1 app, in this case Duel Links. You can download it by googling "duel links apk". On one of the edges of Nox there is a button with written "apk" which allows you to inject it in the game.
  10.
  11. MACRO: NOX allows you to record your mouse clicks on the display. This means that you can perform a set of actions, record them and then let the game repeat them indefinitely. In this specific scenario, we aim to create a Macro that keeps dueling a specific lvl 10 LD at gate, netting 500 exp/duel.
  12.
  13. Now that we've sorted this out, let's proceed.
  14.
  15. VIDEO TUTORIAL (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-xij_rRfIc&t=11s)
  16. My voiced english is terrible and my recording hardware...well...not existant! :P Yet, I thought that a visual explanation of this matter would have been much more effective than just a written one; therefore, I decided to create that video
  17.
  18. WRITTEN EXPLANATION:
  19. PREPARATION:
  20.
  21. DECK:
  22. The deck must be without a skill and with 20x LVL1-4 normal monsters; choose them by selecting those with the highest attack. The deck will look like this (https://i.imgur.com/bUGtqUW.png)
  23. GATE:
  24. I prefer to use Tea LVL 10 because she has the lowest attack monsters and doesn't play spells/traps. When we start the macro or when we record it, we need to be sure that the first duelist to appear when we click the gate we'll be TEA LVL 10. In order to achieve this goal, we just need to duel her 1 time at that level. By doing so, the next time you'll open the gate, she will be the first duelist to appear and lvl 10 will be automatically selected.
  25. SETTINGS:
  26. Enter a random duel, go on the setting (top right corner) and turn off every animation/dialogue/... In addition set the top-bottom view and put the battery usage at maximum. It will look like this and this (https://i.imgur.com/ZW5Rb0p.png)
  27. STARTING THE MACRO (https://i.imgur.com/8EKn1lK.png)
  28. IMAGE : I'll use this image to explain how the macro recorder works.
  29.
  30. Open the Macro window (blue rectangle) and press "play" (green square) to start recording the mouse; to stop and save the recording, press the "stop button" (red square).
  31. After you've created the macro, it will be saved in a list down below; in my case I've already renamed the macro as "3 minutes".
  32. By default, the macro will only run 1 time and then stop, so you will need to change this by opening the "settings" (red arrow) and selecting a loop option; in my case, I selected the "infinite loop" (purple rectangle). Then, press the "save" button (yellow rectangle).
  33. Lastly, to start the macro just press the "play" button (Yellow arrow).
  34.
  35. WHERE TO CLICK AND HOW
  36. Choosing the right clicking places and understanding the timings is the key to create a macro which doesn't stop and keeps running; in order to do this, I've forced myself to follow strict rules, which I'll proceed to explain in the most detailed way I can. In BOLD , the passages to follow; in italic , the explanations and comments regarding them.
  37.
  38. ...HAVE YOUR DECK, TEA LVL10, THE SETTINGS READY; POSITION YOURSELF IN THE GATE-SCENARIO AND START THE MACRO RECORDER (green square)...
  39.
  40. (1) Click on the gate
  41.
  42. (2) After Tea has been loaded, wait an extra 7-10 seconds; then Click "DUEL"
  43. This is one of the most sensitive passages, because if your net has issues or slows down, here the macro will risk to lose its pace. Therefore, waiting for some extra seconds never hurts (expecially the first time you create a macro and you are still inexperienced with the process). I'll call other points where you risk to lose the rythm as "sensitive points".
  44.
  45. (3) Let the full dialogue load; then, wait some seconds (like 5) and click Duel; then, without moving the mouse, click once or twice again in the same position, while the duel starts loading
  46. Clicking in the same position while the screen goes black helps to stay afloat if, by chance, you'll macro should lose its pace for any reason; don't overdo it (like clicking 10 times or waiting too much time): a couple of extra clicks will be enough.
  47.
  48. (4) Let all the animation proceed on their own, don't click anything; let the coin flip proceed by its own as well. Then, when the duel has finally started and the cards sit in your hand, wait something like 15-20 extra seconds. Now, click 3-4 times in the middle of the screen, right between yours and your opponent's monster zones
  49. You can either start first or second. The operations done at point (4) and in the incoming point (6) will have the goal of normalizing this situation; therefore, clicking in the middle of the screen has the goal of "drawing cards from the deck" if you start second, but you'll have to perform these clicks even if you have no cards to draw (whenever you start first)
  50.
  51. (5) Click in the middle of the cards in your hand and hold the click until a zoomed picture of your monster pops up; then, without releasing, slowly drag the card toward the monster zone. Release the button and press "normal summon".
  52. Making the image appear and slowly dragging the monster are 2 keys moves to make sure the macro will never miss a monster card; in addition, don't pick a card by clickin on the edge of your hand, but always aim for the middle
  53.
  54. (6) Without attacking, go on the right edge of the screen to end your turn. Now, you will need to click 4 times in a row on that button, in the position shown in this picture(https://i.imgur.com/fXkcWRl.png?1); do 4 clicks, not too slowly...like 1 click/sec.
  55. This is part of the normalization process. If you start 2nd, at every click a new option will appear (click->appears "battle phase" ; click->appears a button with no writings; click->appears End phase ; click-> turn over), while if you start 1st, only 1 option will appear (click->appears end phase ; click-> turn over). Anyway, even if you start first, you'll still have to do those 2 extra clicks in the same spot in order to cover those situations where you would have started 2nd
  56.
  57. (7) Wait some seconds and do 3-4 clicks in the middle of the screen (like point 4).
  58.
  59. (8) Select a monster (hold until picture appears), drag it in the middle and summon it.
  60.
  61. (9) Click on the battle phase button on the right (first click to make the battle phase wording appear, another one to start it).
  62.
  63. (10) Click on your middle monster, hold and drag toward the "middle spell/trap zone" of Tea; do the same with the second monster, pointing at (and reaching) the middle s/t zone of tea
  64.
  65. (11) On the right edge, click 2 times to end the turn
  66.
  67. (12) Repeat point 7 (4 clicks in the middle), 9 (enter battle phase), 10 (perform 2 attacks)
  68. To defeat Tea you'll need 4 attacks most of the times; sometime, you just need 3. If, while recording the macro, you end up needing only 3 attacks, the "victory animation" will pop up before you can start the 4th attack. In this situation, keep your cold and, after attack number 3, click in the position where the 2nd monster stands and do the same movements you'd do to perform the last attack; then, wait some extra time, which represent the "victory animation" that should have popped up right now
  69.
  70. (13) Wait some seconds and click the "OK" button
  71.
  72. (14) This is a sensitive loading point, so wait some extra seconds (7-8) after the window finishes loading; then, click 2 times on the right of the "Next" button and 1 time on the "next" button, like shown in the image (https://i.imgur.com/yewMUXt.png)
  73. clicking on the right or left of the "next" button allows you to withdraw any possible level up reward you might have won
  74.
  75. (15) Let the "drop window" fully load, with all the drops; then, after 3-4 seconds, press "next".
  76.
  77. (16) Let "Duel World" fully load and Tea Dialogue finish; then, wait a good quantity of seconds (sensitive point, wait like 10 sec) and press 3-4 times on the trees on bottom-right of the Gate, like shown in this image (https://i.imgur.com/OWAyUaE.png)
  78.
  79. ...STOP THE MACRO RECORDER (red square); (RENAME THE MACRO) , SELECT THE LOOP DURATION (AND SAVE IT) AND PRESS THE "PLAY" BUTTON (yellow arrow) TO START IT...
  80.
  81. NOTES:
  82. (1) If LP will be increased up to 5000, the last turn summon 1 extra monster and perform 3 attacks.
  83.
  84. (2) The macro doesn't stop if your net conditions stay stable; anyway, actions like minimizing the window or using the PC for other purposes might compromise the precision of the macro itself. Therefore, I suggest you to run the macro only when you are not using your computer. For istance, I usually run the macro while sleeping, leaving Nox open in the middle of the screen and the monitor shut down.
  85.
  86. (3) The macro I'm using takes 3 minutes to complete a cycle and works without any troubles with this loop-length. I've also created a fast macro that takes 2m30s to close a loop. I'd say that 3m30s is a good goal for your first macro and after that you can refine the process and customize the time accordingly with your own tastes and confidence.
  87.
  88. (4) Macro recording is neither cheating nor modding. You can also record your mouse clicks on your desktop (by downloading apps which record your mouse) and use this on the steam-version of the game (official version).
  89.
  90. (5) How much experience does a Macro net you?
  91. With a 3 minutes macro, you'll gain 10,000 exp/hour, 12,000 for a 2m30s macro.
  92. This means that to raise by 1lvl a 40-45 character, you'll take 4 hours (or 3h20m for the 2m30s macro).
  93. With the exp bonus, the experience raises, and the new values will respectively be 15,000 exp/h and 18,000 exp/h -> 2h40min for 1 lvl and 2h12m, respectively (3 min farm vs 2.5 min).
  94.
  95. I hope I've been helpful in explaining how this feature works. For I'm aware about the controversy of using macros, I want to say that I'm always open for a discussion on this and other matters, until this very discussion lies within the bondaries of a contructive and civil talk.
  96.
  97. Have a nice day everyone! :)
