- Sir Reynault Montalban, first son of Heinrich Montalban and current lord of Altaire, was once a man like any other until his father died when a group of bandit raiders overtook his father's caravan and killed him. This sparked a deep grudge in young Reynault, which motivated him to volunteer himself to defend the lands against the bandit scum that he hated so much. He became a man of the Triarchist faith during his time in the military, and still holds onto the faith deeply. However, he was but a simple soldier, at least until he distinguished himself by saving the life of a Triarchist chancellor and earning the favor of the Triarchy, and was knighted for his efforts. He then rose further through the ranks, eventually distinguishing himself enough in battle to be made a Knight-Master, one of the prestigious few chosen to lead the warriors of the Triarchy and defend the faith at all costs. However, with the peace that the Veldic Empire brought, as fragile as it may be, the Triarchy can move beyond matters such as religious wars and monster slaying and focus on one of their most important quests - the finding and reclamation of the Seven Lost Treasures of the Triarchy, which are seven of the most sought after relics of the Triarchy. They are as follows:
- --Aigaion, the Holy Lance - The legendary weapon for which the Knights of the Holy Lance are named for, it is one of the most sacred treasures of the Triarchy, said to be given by the Threefold God himself to the First Champion of the Triarchy, who along with the rest of the disciples united the various followers of the Threefold God and created the Triarchy. It is said that when wielded by a truly righteous warrior of the Triarchy, it can pierce through even the strongest armor and burns with the ferocity of ten thousand suns. Whether this is true or not is debatable, but the fact remains that it is a sacred artifact that belongs safely in the hands of the church, which it once was until it was stolen by a legendary thief. Now its whereabouts remain unknown.
- --The Veil of Euphrasia - A veil that was once worn by Euphrasia, the only female disciple from among the original disciples of the Threefold God. It is said that this veil has the imprint of her face still on it, and will grant fortune and prosperity to the wearer as long as he or she is faithful to the Threefold God. However, it is said that if an unfaithful person wears it, it will burn their face until it is removed. It is said that it rests in Euphrasia's shrine, waiting for the one worthy of wearing it, but the location of said shrine has been lost in the mists of time.
- --The Divine Historia - This grimoire is another item blessed by the Threefold God, and contains the complete history of everything that ever happened, although within its 1000 pages it will only display the "chapter" that the reader wishes to see. New pages are constantly being added to the text, although the book doesn't appear to grow larger. However, if an impure and evil person were to try and read it, the book will only display gibberish and after reading it he or she will slowly lose his or her eyesight. No one knows for sure if the legends are true and many think the tales are too fantastic to be real, but nonetheless the book is sought after as a blessed item of the Threefold God. As for its whereabouts, a blasphemous speaker of the Triarchy, fearful that his crimes would be exposed within the pages of the Divine Historia, took the book in the dead of night and hid it in a chest deep within a mountain cave. The location of that cave is anyone's guess.
- --The Crown of Ozymanthus - This crown was worn by Ozymanthus, a disciple who was chosen by his kin to become the first High Chancellor of the Triarchy. It is said to be blessed by the Threefold God, and will bless a truly righteous believer with great intelligence and foresight. However, if an evildoer wears it, that person will be robbed of his or her sanity. Like the Veil of Euphrasia it was enshrined with Ozymanthus but stolen by graverobbers.
- --God's Tear - Upon being found by a lowly beggar, this large and beautiful diamond is said to have spoken to him, with the voice being none other than that of the Threefold God. Most would have thought the beggar was crazy but the diamond spoke to others who touched the stone as well, all hearing the voice of the Threefold God. The stone was a valuable treasure of the Triarchy, and with it the Triarchy was granted untold wisdom, but the stone was stolen by a greedy chancellor who wanted the knowledge all for himself. Now the stone is missing and waits in its hiding place to be found once more.
- --The Boots of Eldyn - Another object worn by a disciple, these boots were given by Eldyn, who was said to be the messenger who spread the faith to the various lands and brought them into the Triarchy's fold. These boots are said to grant the wearer great speed, and it is said that it's with these boots that Eldyn was able to spread the word of the Threefold God so quickly. While the boots give great speed to those who wear them, if an evildoer wears them the boots will constrict around the ankles of the wearer making them unable to be taken off and the boots will become unnaturally heavy, as if they were made of lead. Some say that it is the weight of the person's sins that makes the boots so heavy. However, that did not stop someone from running off with them, and to this day the boots remain lost.
- --Mirsaryon, the Holy Robe - Said to be the counterpart to Aigaion, these robes were blessed by the Threefold God to offer unparalleled protection, and it is said that no weapon could pierce it as long as the wearer remained pure. Some say it was made to counteract Aigaion in case it were to fall into the wrong hands. It was given to Obarion, one of the original disciples known for his loyalty and trustworthiness. This object was passed down for many generations, but one day a hapless archbishop opened his wardrobe to find that it inexplicably disappeared. However, there have been many sightings of it over the years, leading many to think that it still exists.
- While these treasures would stroke the greed of anyone, Sir Reynault only wishes to return the Seven Treasures to where they belong - in the safe hands of the Triarchy. Whether they are indeed magical or not, they are nonetheless sacred and irreplacable treasures holy to the Triarchy and finding them is a very important and righteous quest for him and the rest of the Church. To this end Reynault and his men are willing to search the whole of Veld for the relics, and even beyond if necessary. And of course, there are more relics to be found out there and the Knights of the Holy Lance are committed to finding those as well.
