- using a syringe from the bag to inject the head with
- some kind of green liquid.
- “But . . .” Tacenda couldn’t help saying, “you are
- working with a corpse right now.”
- “This?” Davriel said. “This is barely even magic. This
- is merely a means to an end.” He finished the injection,
- and the head focused on him more deliberately, then
- parted its lips.
- “Do you remember your name?” Davriel asked the
- head.
- “Jagreth,” the head said, its lips moving, though
- the sound seemed to come from the metal plate that
- connected it to the jar.
