  1. <-- Kennian had JUST been promoted to GR3 and so was muchly fussing and congratulating over guild aethers when...
  2.
  3. Kennian beams broadly.
  4.
  5. Starlight ripples like water across the sunlit sky, concentrated peculiarly over New Celest.
  6.
  7. Kennian glances up at the sky in curiosity.
  8.
  9. Happily, you say, "Miss Kennian is a Saltspeaker now!"
  10.
  11. Romaan claps his hands together merrily.
  12.
  13. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says, "Wonderful!"
  14.
  15. Iridescent starlight twinkles high overhead, vying for prominence in the daytime light.
  16.
  17. Tridemon glances up, blinking.
  18.
  19. LOOK ME
  20. Standing at a scant four foot ten inches, they are an alluring sileni kindly demigod changeling. The slender curves of this creature's form, from their slight shoulders to their dainty, six-fingered hands, lend them a youthful, wholesome appearance. Their right hand has been scarred upon the palm, as if with a sharp object, and their most prominent three knuckles of the same hand are marred. A heart-shaped face houses a sheepish smile and a pair of large, expressive, slate-blue eyes, their brilliant white pupils resembling stars framed with dusky auburn lashes. Their long cheeks and thin, upturned nose both bear a permanent shade of blush, accentuated by the greatest cluster of freckles. A moderately sized crescent-shaped scar mars their right cheek, brightly visible against the deep hue of their skin. Their smooth skin is tawny in color, covered in a smattering of auburn freckles. A hint of discolored flesh can be seen at the center of their sternum, mostly obscured by their clothing. An unruly mane of bright, apricot colored hair is clustered in wavy clumps atop their head, parted on either side of their head by a pair of curling, deep sable ram's horns, the left horn slightly shorter and stumpier than the right. A shock of bone-white hair stands out along their left temple, the tuft tucked delicately around their horn. A pair of velvety soft black ram's ears hang down from below their horns, twitching every so often in response to foreign sound. Beginning along their midriff is a thin coat of apricot-colored wool, a hint of pure white spots seen poking out from the top of their pants. Their backwards-tilted legs are slender and fawn-like, covered in downy tufts of orange fur and coming to end with triangular, sable black hooves. A short orange and white tail can be seen occasionally wagging behind them. Great wings of ethereal metal emerge from their upper back, raining motes of copper-huen energy that dissipate with the hum of Mysrai, the Beckoner Beyond the Maze's truefavour. A shifting pearlescence graces their skin as they walk with the truefavour of Carakhan, Sculptor of Waves.
  21. They are wearing:

  51.
  52. LOOKIT TRIDEMON
  53. He is a crystalline lucidian tidebourne demigod and his body is a strange combination of colours. Most of him is a deep violet colour, while his left arm is a combination of oceanic shades of deep blues and greens, shifting in a rhythmic, tidally slow dance, with ridges running from his wrist to elbow in a pattern resembling swirling, stylised waves. In addition, it appears that his fingers of his left hand, including his thumb, have an extra joint, tapering off to sharp- but not narrow- points. His right hand is far more mundane, aside from a scar of deep red and blue that encircles his entire ring finger. He doesn't have hair so much as sculpted spikes of crystal, flaring back along his skull almost like plumage. Much of his body is crossed by pale lines of discolored crystal, like scars, glittering opaline white with flecks of fiery rainbow color throughout, with a somewhat larger scar running vertically along his face from his chin to his forehead. He also presents an odd form of heterochromia in his eyes, with his right eye being a completely featureless orb of colorless crystal, while his left eye is broken up into three jagged sections, each approximately a third of the visible surface of his eye, showing amber, emerald, and opal segments, with pupils occupying both the emerald and amber. A shifting pearlescence graces his skin as he walks with the truefavour of Carakhan, Sculptor of Waves.
  54. Resembling an entity from the cosmic planes, his head is wreathed in undulating strands of shimmering cosmic fire. Attuned to his moods, the chromatic waves are in constant flux, from rising up in a halo of incandescent anger to streaming back in ripples of pleasure.
  55. He is wearing:
  56. an Elemental Cloak
  57. a pearlescent aspergillum
  58. a circlet of smooth stones slowly rotating around his head in a pattern as steady as the tides
  59. a resonating lens of cascading patterns
  60. A Silk Mask of Amusement
  61. a resplendent amberlight blossom
  62. the Mantle of Starlight
  63. Thalassic Prayer Beads of the Sculptor of Waves wrapped around his left forearm, partially fused with the flesh there

  65. a symbol of Carakhan
  66. a Celestian friendship bracelet
  67. a ring of calming hues
  68. a parafilament saddlebag
  69. a silver necklace set with star sapphires

  71. bright white robes of platinum waves
  72. a dark pearl pocket watch with a clover charm
  73. Urlach's Black Gauntlet
  74. a Brooch of the Elements

  78. a Runed Crown of Divine Light
  79. a mark of Carakhan
  80. an elegant knot of crystalline filaments
  81. a suspiciously mundane wallet
  82. a delicate white ring.
  83.
  84. LOOKIT ROMAAN
  85. He is a noble merian vernal demigod changeling and stands slightly above average height for his race. His skin shows many scars and burns from many years of battle. His deep blue eyes have a hollow, lost look and are constantly surveying his surroundings for any sign of trouble. He has broad shoulders and his muscles ripple under his armour. His hair, showing signs of grey, spills out from under his helm.
  86. Three slender fins crown his head, the centre fin rising slightly higher than its neighbors. Faintly azure in hue, the colour deepens as his fins extend outward into a darker, royal colouration. Tiny shells adorn the fins, nacreous and shimmering in the light.
  87. He is wearing:
  88. the Mantle of Starlight
  89. a mirrored vambrace
  90. a star-etched turquoise ring
  91. a military brooch
  92. a star-etched diamond ring
  93. a Brooch of the Elements
  94. a gleaming pendant of starlight.
  95.
  96. You have emoted: Gurashi's attention drifts upward, head canting to the side.
  97.
  98. (Celest): Romaan says, "Is this starlight in the daytime something new?"
  99.
  100. (Celest): Tridemon says, "I've not seen it before."
  101.
  102. (Celest): Kennian says, "It just started."
  103.
  104. (Celest): You say, "I do like the stars..."
  105.
  106. The air ripples with celestial energy as Avaris marches in from the southwest, his form radiant and bold.
  107.
  108. (Celest): Edathic zi'Prouep says, "Ah... about that... are any astrologers available whose opinions I may consult? Or any learned persons?"
  109.
  110. You blink.
  111.
  112. Golden shades radiate from your chest and your heart beats faster with newly-appeared determination.
  113.
  114. Voice resonating with choral harmonics, Humble Avaris, Avower of the Archons asks, "Starlight in the daytime?"
  115.
  116. Tridemon ponders the situation.
  117.
  118. (Celest): Kennian says, "I am no astrologer and only mildly learned but I will help if I am able!"
  119. (Celest): You say, "I am not an astrologer... I am only a little learned too!" <-- same time <3
  120.
  121. Kennian beams broadly at you.
  122.
  123. (Celest): You say, "But - ah! We can help!"
  124.
  125. You grin mischievously at Kennian.
  126.
  127. You wink conspiratorially at Kennian.
  128.
  129. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say to Kennian, "Think it is all better now, your titles. Goodly works."
  130.
  131. Celest): Tridemon says, "Slightly more learned than those two, not an expert on the stars, though I've met one before."
  132.
  133. Kennian watches the sky and the twinkling of the stars, entranced.
  134.
  135. You flail about helplessly.
  136.
  137. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you whisper, "Met the star..."
  138.
  139. (Celest): Romaan says, "I am no astrologer but will aid in whatever way I can."
  140.
  141. (Celest): Edathic zi'Prouep says, "Any mind at all will do - I am not quite sure what to make of this!"
  142.
  143. <-- starts running to her!
  144.
  145. Amidst shelves and scrolls in the Athenaeum.
  146. This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. Blanched shelves of polished driftwood and inset mother of pearl line the interior edge of this gallery in soft contrast to the shining waterfall at the centre of the Athenaeum. Before them, low benches sit, softened by ivory cushions; underfoot, the floor slopes gently upwards, spiraling around the interior of the shell in a wash of rainbow-hued enamel. Coral pillars line the outer edge, worked with images of Tahtetso mid-stance; beyond them, a stunning view of the city spreads. Vines sway beyond the columns, falling from some higher level of the structure. Edathic zi'Prouep is here, studying some star charts in consultation with astrology almanacs. A elegant display case sits here, holding a variety of items.
  147. You see exits leading east and southwest.
  148.
  149. You tilt your head, gaze softening as you frown.
  150.
  151. Cheerily, you say, "Hi!"
  152.
  153. LOOKIT EDATHIC
  154. Edathic zi'Prouep is a female lucidian with alabaster skin that fairly sparkles like crushed pearls. Unlike many lucidians, her form is extremely supple. Her head is bald and as smooth as an egg, encircled by a thin gold band. She wears a golden robe with a collar that flares up around her neck. Upon the collar are embroidered glyphs of the sun with rays spreading outwards. She gazes off into the distance, lost in thought.
  155. Edathic zi'Prouep appears to be extraordinarily strong.
  156.
  157. (Celest): Avaris says, "It seems that you have several at your disposal. We shall, of course, do what we can to assist."
  158.
  159. Edathic zi'Prouep fiddles with her brass astrolabe, peering from it, to her charts, to the view outside.
  160.
  161. (Celest): You say, "I have made my way over to Miss Edathic if want to come helps!"
  162.
  163. Romaan bows respectfully to Edathic zi'Prouep.
  164.
  165. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says, "How may we help?"
  166.
  167. Great waves crash over one another as they pour in from the southwest, finally swirling together before solidifying into Tridemon.
  168.
  169. (Celest): You say, "Can find me to find she!"
  170.
  171. You sense Avaris pulling on the strands of aether surrounding you.
  172. You sense Falaine pulling on the strands of aether surrounding you.
  173.
  174. A cascading veil of water and light gently rains in from the east as Alarin steps through it, parting the starry curtain in a shimmer of sparkling white mist.
  175.
  176. Alarin stands at attention and gives a crisp salute with their furry right paw.
  177.
  178. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White gives the world a smart salute.
  179.
  180. You have emoted: Gurashi's tail wags happily behind them, their hands clasped together. "Surely between all of these brains something goodly can come of it?"
  181.
  182. You sense Kennian pulling on the strands of aether surrounding you.
  183.
  184. Avaris inclines his head to you in a gracious manner. "Thank you, Gurashi."
  185.
  186. You beam broadly at Avaris.
  187.
  188. (Celest): Romaan says, "You may port to me or Gurashi."
  189.
  190. Among the sparkling motes of light, a translucent figure appears in the air and then quickly solidifies as Kennian comes into view.
  191.
  192. (OOC Clan): Alarin says, "I just scented Gurashi and nyoom!"
  193. (OOC Clan): You say, "I don't smell THAT bad."
  194.
  195. You see the following people here:
  196. Tridemon, Kennian, Avaris, Romaan, Falaine, Alarin, Gurashi.
  197. (Celestial Gathering): Alarin says, "...it's the food, Gurashi."
  198.
  199. (Celestial Gathering): Romaan says, "That is a matter of your opinion."
  200.
  201. Falaine steps in and bows to you in thanks, then turns her attention to Edathic zi'Prouep with an intent curiosity.
  202.
  203. Kennian takes Dudley's paw quietly and moves next to her, scritching her between the ears.
  204.
  205. Kennian curtseys gracefully.
  206.
  207. Edathic zi'Prouep pulses with pearlescent hues, looking up from her notes and her astrolabe to greet everyone with an excited smile. "Hello, everyone! I have never seen something like this before!" she says, "and I am not quite sure what to make of it!"
  208.
  209. You have emoted: Gurashi turns their full attention back to the lucidian, smile on their face. "What's wrongs? What did see?"
  210.
  211. Dudley, the celestial mastiff lays her head in Kennian's lap.
  212.
  213. Pointing over their shoulder, you say, "We were at the Pool of STars and saw the sky looking all shiny."
  214.
  215. A warm, salty breeze washes in from the nearby Inner Sea.
  216.
  217. Leaning closer, you ask Edathic zi'Prouep, "What does your astro-globes see?"
  218.
  219. <-- Romaan umbrellas a stinky Alarin
  220. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White snickers softly to himself.
  221.
  222. Turning to Edathic zi'Prouep, Avaris clasps his hands together beneath the cloak of his wings, and listens in an attentive manner.
  223.
  224. Kennian stands on the tips of her toes, hanging on to Dudley for balance as she tries to see.
  225.
  226. Romaan stands at attention and listens intently to Edathic.
  227.
  228. The Mantle of Starlight flows gently against your form, twinkling stars shifting across its surface as the starry infinity continues its eternal motion.
  229.
  230. Edathic zi'Prouep steps from the astrolabe and gestures from it to one of the maps of the skies unfurled upon a nearby table. "Stars typically wander the sky in fixed patterns," she explains excitedly, "and - save for the Keeper's report, as far as I am aware - they do not typically stray far from them."
  231.
  232. Edathic zi'Prouep says to Tridemon, "You mentioned you had - what was it - 'met' a star before?"
  233.
  234. You have emoted: Gurashi's starry eyes widen. "...a falling star..."
  235.
  236. You have emoted: Gurashi's attention drifts to Tridemon, their face registering a growing excitement.
  237.
  238. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says to Edathic zi'Prouep, "Is it just one out of place or more?"
  239.
  240. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "Mmhmm. It was a shooting star that got pulled away from its... well, pack, I suppose, by a reaction to the Star of Celest."
  241.
  242. Impassively, Edathic zi'Prouep says, "The Star of Celest is an ancient construct from the time of the Holy Celestine Empire and has long shone down and protected us. That the founders of New Celest were able to recover her was a well-received innovation on their parts."
  243.
  244. Alarin blinks.
  245.
  246. Slakened Falaine, Novitiate of Purity thinks to herself: The sky looked.. shiny?
  247.
  248. The broad, curving strokes of Avaris's deep red antennae track Edathic zi'Prouep's gesturing, the kephera's immobile features turning down to study the map in silence.
  249.
  250. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "The Star was tempted to follow the others in their journey, but self-evidently stayed where it was."
  251.
  252. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker thinks to herself: What do you even say to a -star-?!
  253.
  254. Humble Avaris, Avower of the Archons thinks to himself: "Stars. I wonder if this has aught to do with Lord Darvellan? I hope so - The Lady would be most pleased. We shall see."
  255.
  256. You have emoted: Gurashi bounces up and down in their spot. "She is a goodly star, the Star of Celest." They move closer. "What is wrong? Is it falling wrong? Is it going off-course?" They ask of the other lucidian. "Is it O-K?"
  257.
  258. "Fascinating," Edathic zi'Prouep murmurs to Tridemon, then turns her attention onto Romaan. Still pulsing with excitement, she explains, "This situation does seem different - an entire cluster of stars seems to be behaving strangely."
  259.
  260. You blink.
  261.
  262. Softly, you ask, "A whole...cluster?"
  263.
  264. Romaan ponders for a moment and says "Hrm..."
  265.
  266. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "Like... a constellation, or just a close grouping?"
  267.
  268. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say, "...t-that is more than one."
  269.
  270. You fret over everything that might go wrong.
  271.
  272. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker whispers, "A star pack."
  273.
  274. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins asks Edathic zi'Prouep, "Do they seem to be heading toward us or, well, dancing about in the heavens?"
  275.
  276. Falaine's eyes sharpen at the words, and she leans forward, the hiss of metal sliding on metal ringing softly through the room.
  277.
  278. You think to yourself: *envisioning the stars in the sky, a group, like a family, staying together, to not fall astray in all that great darkness*.
  279.
  280. Alarin tilts back their head and inhales deeply while twitching a wolf's snout.
  281.
  282. Nodding, Edathic zi'Prouep says, "Like a constellation, but..." She gestures toward the star maps laid out. "But not. At least not one that we have record of - just an ordinary group of stars. They're... brighter, and flickering faster... I first noticed it while consulting with some notes for some old research I had decided to pick up again."
  283.
  284. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says to Edathic zi'Prouep, "And are these know stars or new ones?"
  285.
  286. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you ask, "...flickering, faster?"
  287.
  288. Edathic zi'Prouep exclaims to Romaan, "Dancing - that isn't far off. How excitingly strange this is!"
  289.
  290. You have emoted: Gurashi frowns. "...they are, dancing?" They loll their head back to gaze up at the ceiling.
  291.
  292. Alarin nods their head at you, showing their acceptance.
  293.
  294. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, ".. are we sure they are stars? In the traditional sense of the word? And not something else?"
  295.
  296. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "Hmm. A form of communication? Bees dance for that."
  297.
  298. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you ask, "Outside - the stars were twinkling so bright... I wonder ... why?" They too look at Romaan. "I wonder why?"
  299.
  300. You blink.
  301.
  302. With a slow nod to Edathic zi'Prouep, Romaan shows his understanding.
  303.
  304. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say to Tridemon, "...bees..."
  305.
  306. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins asks Edathic zi'Prouep, "Is there any pattern to their dancing that you can discern?"
  307.
  308. You tilt your head and listen intently to Kennian.
  309.
  310. "Something else?" Edathic zi'Prouep asks Kennian, her excitement waning into thoughtfulness.
  311.
  312. Showing that you understand, you nod your head slowly towards Kennian.
  313.
  314. Kennian looks about herself, rubbing her chin thoughtfully.
  315.
  316. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "Something.. more sentient?"
  317.
  318. Kennian looks about herself, rubbing her chin thoughtfully.
  319.
  320. You have emoted: Gurashi cups their unscarred cheek, eyes wide. "Bees in space," They marvel quietly to themselves once more before settling on watching Edathic zi'Prouep excitedly speak.
  321.
  322. Wide-eyes, you say to Kennian, "Stars could be sentient...!"
  323.
  324. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you ask Edathic zi'Prouep, "Ah - how MANY stars?"
  325.
  326. You tilt your head curiously.
  327.
  328. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says to you, "True! Especially if they know how to dance."
  329.
  330. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you ask, "You said, was a cluster. Is a big number? Or a specifics ones?"
  331.
  332. Caught in a sudden bout of whimsy, you twirl about the room in idle circles.
  333.
  334. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker thinks to herself: Stars with souls!
  335.
  336. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say to Kennian, "Is easy to learn how to dance, even in space, I bet."
  337.
  338. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker thinks to herself: And.. soul hehe!
  339.
  340. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins asks, "Could it be Lord Darvellan returning with the Stars that he left as a trail of sorts?"
  341.
  342. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "So much room to twirl."
  343.
  344. You think to yourself: *a thrum of excitement at the thought of another star person arriving in the City - another new friend, to be kind to, to befriend*.
  345.
  346. Edathic zi'Prouep cups her pearly cheek, then gathers the hem of her golden robes and whisks toward another shelf, her gaze running over the spines as though searching for something. "Perhaps...ten or so exceptionally bright ones?" she says in answer to your question. "Smaller ones nearby do seem to be reacting, too, but..."
  347.
  348. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says, "He left some for other Elders to follow - it is how Lady Terentia returned to us."
  349.
  350. Your eyes bug out as you boggle in amazement.
  351.
  352. Surprised, you ask, "....ten?"
  353.
  354. Thoughtfully, Edathic zi'Prouep says, "These stars *are* younger. I'd only marked their presence in the skies somewhat recently."
  355.
  356. (Celestial Gathering): Alarin says, "...oh shit."
  357.
  358. Edathic zi'Prouep murmurs softly to herself.
  359.
  360. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say, "...ten <young> stars, that are bright..."
  361.
  362. Several of the smaller, glowing markings upon Avaris's wings that resemble eyes slide aside to glance at you sidelong for a moment. His attention shifts to Romaan at the mention of Darvellan, then turns to Edathic zi'Prouep with greater curiosity.
  363.
  364. Alarin shimmers with incandescent energy as the images of the Nine Seals blaze into existence along their arms. After a long moment they fade, though their eyes blaze with light for some time after.
  365.
  366. You have emoted: Gurashi looks at Alarin as the image of the Nine Seals briefly decorates the tae'dae's form.
  367.
  368. You have emoted: Gurashi looks back towards Edathic zi'Prouep, wide-eyed. "Has been like this for a while, you said? Like, a lot of days? Or months?"
  369.
  370. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says, "It is just a thought. There are many other possibilities."
  371.
  372. Listening attentively, Falaine watches Edathic zi'Prouep, one gauntleted hand draped onto the pommel of a sword at her belt in a relaxed posture. She glances once aside to Avaris, then between the others conversing, before tipping her head back to look up into the sky.
  373.
  374. It is now the 20th of Klangiary, 593 years after the Coming of Estarra.
  375. There are 25 days until the New Moon
  376. Alarin covers a spice pie with another of the same type, whispering softly under their breath. As the two items melt into each other, they suddenly shimmer with a brilliant, golden light until only one remains.
  377.
  378. Edathic zi'Prouep taps a finger against her cheek with a light click-click, then draws another book filled with maps from the shelves, carrying it to the tables. "You are right, of course," she says to Romaan thoughtfully. "Hmm.... perhaps heralding a path for an Elder God... perhaps sentient itself..."
  379.
  380. Alarin Rian says, "Please pardon that."
  381. Alarin coughs softly.
  382. You pat Alarin in a friendly manner.
  383.
  384. Starlight shimmers in the nighttime sky, flickering rapidly like candle flames caught in a draft, or like laughter suppressed.
  385.
  386. You tilt your head curiously.
  387.
  388. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White exclaims, "...geesh panda, stop working for once!"
  389.
  390. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say, "... ah."
  391.
  392. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White peers at Alarin unscrupulously.
  393.
  394. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "... does anyone else get the sense that the stars are intensely amused?"
  395.
  396. You have emoted: Gurashi gazes skyward, looking for the nearest sliver of sky as they thoughtfully cup their own cheek again. "I wonder, if we can talk to them..."
  397.
  398. Kennian returns to her full footing, petting Dudley on the head as she descends slowly. Her eyes dart from person to person as the exchange continues.
  399.
  400. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins asks Edathic zi'Prouep, "What can we do to prepare for whatever it is, besides wait? Can we take any measurements or chard their paths?"
  401.
  402. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says to Tridemon, "They do seem happy, at least."
  403.
  404. You face lights up as you smile brightly at Kennian.
  405.
  406. Edathic zi'Prouep glances up at Tridemon's words, then looks to you, her mouth slightly agape. "Amused?" She blinks, then bustles to the astrolabe and peers outside again.
  407.
  408. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say to Edathic zi'Prouep, "Well, yeah."
  409.
  410. Excitedly, Edathic zi'Prouep says, "How very strange indeed."
  411.
  412. Matter-of-factly, you ask Edathic zi'Prouep, "If the stars ARE a-live, then, they would find things funny, wouldn't they?"
  413.
  414. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say, "Maybe we look funny, running around down here wondering what they are up to up there."
  415.
  416. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "Maybe it -IS- another Elder God and They're happy to return for praise and food and things!"
  417.
  418. Quietly, Slakened Falaine, Novitiate of Purity says, "There is a sense of playfulness to the motions, yes."
  419.
  420. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says to you, "Not necessarily. Some people are just plain humorless."
  421.
  422. Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters thinks to himself: The Silent springs to mind...
  423.
  424. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White says, "Like him."
  425.
  426. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White points accusingly at Alarin.
  427.
  428. You have emoted: Gurashi grasps themselves on either side of the head by the horn, causing their entire body to rock as they tug themselves once to the left, then right. "Hmm."
  429.
  430. You look at Tridemon, expression filled with concern as you frown.
  431.
  432. Alarin gives Thaldorn Thornfist, the White the once-over, eyeing him suspiciously.
  433.
  434. (Celest): Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest says, "May be I'm a little late to the conversation, but ... you say the stars be acting strangely? It's not another superstition the sailors got themselves worked up over?"
  435.
  436. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says, "If they are happy, and they were created by Lord Darvellan, then the could be heralding His return or even another Elder's return."
  437.
  438. You have emoted: Gurashi looks back towards Edathic zi'Prouep, smiling weakly. Suddenly their attention is pulled elsewhere, and they blink once, twice.
  439.
  440. (Celest): You say, "Yes!"
  441.
  442. Aquamantic symbols suddenly project themselves upon the very air in dark blue light, fading after a brief moment.
  443.
  444. (Celest): Alarin says, "Correct, Captain."
  445.
  446. A sense of longing fills the air, accentuated by the lapping of the ocean waves upon the distant walls of the city.
  447.
  448. (Celest): Tridemon says, "No, no, there's really something going on with the stars. You can stop yelling at tardy captains now. ... for that reason."
  449.
  450. (Celest): Romaan says, "We are discussing with Edathic,."
  451.
  452. (Celest): You say, "We are near the library discussing it now, Mister Helstren."
  453.
  454. (Celest): You say, "Have the sailors been noticing things, too?"
  455.
  456. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "Maybe the tides changed. That has things to do with stars? I think?"
  457.
  458. (Celest): Alarin says, "Thaldorn and I can come escort you here if you would like?"
  459.
  460. Edathic zi'Prouep straightens, flickering with sudden curiousity.
  461.
  462. Gently, you say to Edathic zi'Prouep, "So is not just you, who noticed..."
  463.
  464. You ponder the situation.
  465.
  466. (Celest): Edathic zi'Prouep says, "Our fellow citizens have the right of it - this is nothing supersitious, Harbourmaster, but it is really and truly happening!"
  467.
  468. Romaan snorts and snuffles at the air through a ridiculous pig nose.
  469.
  470. (Celest): Tridemon says, "I can see where they'd be worried, frankly. Having the stars suddenly decide to act differently would wreak havoc upon certain maritime navigation techniques."
  471.
  472. (Celest): You say, "... oh! I did not even consider that!"
  473.
  474. (Celest): Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest says, "I think the problem's less what the sailors have been noticing, and more what they aren't. Bunch of them loitering about the docks, complaining."
  475.
  476. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker thinks to herself: Oh. Mapping. That's how the stars help sailors. I knew it was something!
  477.
  478. (Celest): Citlali says, "Will it affect the currents as well?"
  479. (Celest): You say, "...ah! What is the superstition, by chance?"
  480. (Celest): Tridemon says, "Doubtful. The stars are a bit far away for that."
  481. (Celest): You say, "That is making the sailors not want to go out?"
  482. (Celest): Romaan says, "Well, I am sure they have good star charts, can the assist with the categorization of them?"
  483.
  484. Alarin Rian says, "Please pardon me. I will see what the sailors are on about."
  485.
  486. (Celest): Edathic zi'Prouep says, "Indeed - in fact, may we join you, Captain?"
  487.
  488. Alarin stands at attention and gives a crisp salute with their furry right paw.
  489. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White gives the world a smart salute.
  490.
  491. You eyes light up as you smile.
  492.
  493. The figure of Alarin dissipates within a veil of sparkling white mist, the twinkling motes of starry light floating to the east on a soothing breeze.
  494.
  495. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "I was just about to suggest something similar."
  496.
  497. Romaan nods his head at Edathic zi'Prouep.
  498.
  499. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says to Romaan, "May I walk with Dudley?"
  500.
  501. Tridemon points boldly towards the horizon and declares in a proud tone, "Onward!"
  502.
  503. (Celest): You say, "Yes! Please, we would love to come and have a words with you if have a moment?"
  504.
  505. Tridemon turns towards the east and steps forward, instantly collapsing into a torrent of water that rushes outwards with a thunderous crash of water.
  506.
  507. Edathic zi'Prouep begins to follow Romaan.
  508.
  509. Romaan beckons to Edathic zi'Prouep.
  510.
  511. You nod your head emphatically.
  512.
  513. You begin to follow Romaan.
  514.
  515. Edathic zi'Prouep nods her head at Romaan.
  516.
  517. <-- walky walky!
  518. You follow Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins east to before the office of the harbourmaster.
  519.
  520. Romaan bows respectfully to Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest.
  521.
  522. (Celest): You say, "We are here, if anyone wants to join the conversations!"
  523.
  524. Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest clicks his teeth about his pipe, then bows in greeting at the gathering.
  525.
  526. (Celest): You say, "Can teleport to mineselfs! Or anyone else yes."
  527.
  528. LOOKIT HELSTREN
  529. Dressed in an old styled captain's uniform, Helstren exudes quite a stately presence with his polished medals and pins bearing the marks and honours of the navy of New Celest. His features are weathered from near constant exposure to the harsh water and air of the Inner Sea, and his hands are chapped and calloused from many nights attending to the dockyard. He dutifully scans the far-off sea and the shipyard for newcomers to the city. He wears a thick belt laced with many compartmented loops. Within one of the loops hangs an antiquated compass, and another a sheath for a knife of some kind, however the item is missing.
  530. Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest appears to be extraordinarily strong.
  531.
  532. The air ripples with celestial energy as Avaris marches in from the west, his form radiant and bold.
  533.
  534. You beam broadly at Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest.
  535.
  536. Kennian curtseys gracefully before Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest.
  537.
  538. Falaine gives Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest a respectful salute.
  539.
  540. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say, "Good morning - however early is."
  541.
  542. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says to Edathic zi'Prouep, "Sorry, forgot my bearings for a moment."
  543.
  544. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say to Romaan, "Is O-K! Got us here."
  545.
  546. Alarin puts their fingers in their mouth and lets out a high-pitched whistle.
  547. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White trots in with head high.
  548.
  549. Kennian looks up at the sky as she listens, watching the stars.
  550.
  551. Letting the hem of her golden robes drop and settle back into place, Edathic zi'Prouep exclaims to Romaan, "Not at all, Sir Romaan. The city is always beautiful at night, even with things to be about and learn!"
  552.
  553. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says to Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest, "When did the sailors first start grumbling."
  554.
  555. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White says, "Oh sure. Just leave me talking to myself in the Library."
  556. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White sticks out his tongue and wetly goes, "Pffhhttt!!"
  557.
  558. You have emoted: Gurashi too gazes skyward, arms crossed anxiously over their arms as they stand near to Tridemon.
  559. Romaan beams at Thaldorn Thornfist, the White and nods, proffering a chipper "Yep!" to finalize his position on the matter.
  560.
  561. Alarin tilts back their head to gaze at the stars overhead.
  562.
  563. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says to Thaldorn Thornfist, the White, "You shouldn't talk to yourself in the library. Might disturb the readers or researchers."
  564.
  565. "Aye, about a day now," Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest says, turning to squint out over the docks. "Complaining about bad luck, about 'laughing stars'..."
  566.
  567. Like Kennian, Falaine's attention is upward, a faint frown on concentration on her brow as she watches.
  568.
  569. Standing to one side as unobtrusively as one of his stature can manage, Avaris tilts his head back to regard the sky intently, antennae twitching towards each speaker in turn.
  570.
  571. You have emoted: Gurashi turns their attention back to the captain, wide-eyed. "Bad luck... laughing, stars?"
  572.
  573. You have emoted: Gurashi lolls their head back dramatically to gape at the barely-brightening sky. "They twinkle, like so..."
  574.
  575. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says, "What kind of bad luck?"
  576.
  577. Humble Avaris, Avower of the Archons thinks to himself: "Malicious or innocuous laughter, I wonder?"
  578.
  579. Romaan ponders the situation.
  580.
  581. You think to yourself: *fleeting recollection, the Empyreal commenting on how She did like their twinkle...*.
  582.
  583. Looking about at everyone, Edathic zi'Prouep says, "We did note the stars seemed amused." She turns her attention to Helstren. "Where are the sailors now? I think we should like to interview them."
  584.
  585. You have emoted: Gurashi gazes up longingly, folding their hands over their heart. "Yes, please," They look down in response to the lucidian's comment. "That sounds smart. Talking to the sailors."
  586.
  587. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says to Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest, "Has the fishing been bad? Have the storms been more frequent and stronger?"
  588.
  589. Kennian tilts her head and listens intently to Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest.
  590.
  591. Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest crinkles his weathered brow. "Nay," he says gruffly, "which is why I think it's a load of excuses. However, if you lot say they *have* been moving strangely...
  592.
  593. Speaking just loud enough to be heard over the crashing waves, you say, "Ten of thems."
  594.
  595. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says to Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest, "Aye, but according to Edathic, these are new stars."
  596.
  597. Much more shyly, you say, "Ish."
  598.
  599. Slakened Falaine, Novitiate of Purity says, "It was an observable phenomenon, aye."
  600.
  601. You nod your head emphatically.
  602.
  603. Bursting open, the clouds in the sky release a light pitter-patter of rain.
  604.
  605. Citlali says, "Did the sailors attempt to navigate by those stars?"
  606.
  607. Citlali says, "Were they lead somewhere?"
  608.
  609. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says to Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest, "Are the ships Captains worried or just the sailors?"
  610.
  611. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "And are they dancing this way? Or just.. enjoying their own waltzes far away?"
  612.
  613. "Good questions for the sailors," Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest says, nodding vigorously. "Mayhap they might speak to us if they're reminded of their worth as sailors, as down on their luck as they sound."
  614.
  615. You see the following people here:
  616. Avaris, Tridemon, Kennian, Romaan, Citlali, Alarin, Falaine, Gurashi.
  617.
  618. LOOKIT AVARIS
  619. An imposing figure of titanic proportions, he is a compound-eyed kephera celestial demigod. Easily twice the height of a tall man, possessed of a dignified and noble bearing. Six vast wings of gently effulgent, aureate feathers spread out from his back, each bearing a multitude of lucent, stylised eyes formed of two curving lines and a circle betwixt them - which move and gaze about with eerie awareness. The shape of his domed head is reminiscent of a knightly helm, the alabaster of his pointed chin and the wide flares of chitin that form his jaw contrasting with the layered crest of shining gold that sweeps up and out from his severe brow in broad, curving blades. Seven eyes of brilliant azure are set into the burnished, aureate visor of his immobile face, three beneath each side of his brow, with a single, larger one set at the center of his forehead. Flowing up from behind the prominent crest are two arcing pairs of liquid, red antennae - the interior set grand, the other, outer pair smaller, each thick line of sanguine aether dense and opaque. Engulfing much of his upper torso is a dense, luxurious mane of pristine white fluff, which flows up over his shoulders and behind his neck in a spray of lustrous tufts. His immense frame is plated in dense chitin of white-streaked, gleaming gold, the exoskeleton formed in the manner of natural armour - most notably so in his upper set of shoulders, which are shaped like pauldrons from which a halo of spiked gold arcs, with a baleful, stylised eye of intense red emblazoned upon them. All four of his arms are thick and powerfully constructed, the long limbs terminating in pointed fingers that extend from long, inherently gauntleted hands. His narrow waist juts out into broad hips, from which descend the wide span of his plated thighs, the digitigrade legs supported by large feet that possess viciously hooked talons of thin, steeply angled gold, three at the front of each foot, and two upon each heel. Soothing mists of water and light weave about him in a sparkling white veil, marking the truefavour of Lantra, the Empyreal.
  620. He is wearing:
  621. a white imperial scabbard on his right hip
  622. a white leather scabbard bearing a silver cross hanging low from his right hip
  623. a black scabbard with a gold horn on his left hip
  624. a black scabbard with a gold horn hanging low from his left hip
  625. Immaculate Prayer Beads of the Empyreal Goddess wrapped tightly about the forearm of his upper right arm
  626. a glass ampoule of bottled starlight secured to his hip by a fine silver chain threaded through the chitin
  627. a Brooch of Angels.
  628.
  629.
  630. LOOKIT Citlali
  631. He is an ordinary human. Soothing mists of water and light weave about him in a sparkling white veil, marking the truefavour of Lantra, the Empyreal.
  632. He is wearing:
  633. a pair of fate-touched trousers
  634. a fate-touched shirt
  635. a canvas backpack
  636. a ring of emerald tetrahedron links
  637. a pair of glassblade gloves
  638. a fashionable armoured jacket.
  639.
  640. LOOKIT ALARIN
  641. They are a burly tae'dae empyreal demigod. A giant bear-like creature of black and white stands here. At a glance, their features show that they are a burly tae'dae empyreal demigod. Standing just a shade taller than most single-story structures, this tae'dae bears black and white markings similar to that of a panda. Their bright blue eyes are inquisitive, yet kind and welcoming. Their well-groomed fur seems to be stained here and there with what looks like blood, remnants from their last foray into one hunting ground or another. Bulky muscle seem to ripple throughout almost their entire form, the exception being their ample belly which they pat proudly from time to time. A subtle yet immense aura of power seems to radiate from them, the tell-tale mark of one of the Demi-Divine of the First World. A shifting pearlescence graces their skin as they walk with the truefavour of Carakhan, Sculptor of Waves.
  642. They are wearing:
  643. an etched turquoise ring
  644. a scratched white onyx ring of suffering
  645. a suit of polished field plate armour
  646. Urlach's Black Gauntlet
  647. a Bladed Harness of the Cow Butcher
  648. a Brooch of the Elements
  649. mechanical goggles
  650. a dark pearl pocket watch with a clover charm.
  651.
  652. LOOKIT FALAINE
  653. Tall and powerfully built, her steel blue skin and graceful ear fins make it clear that she is a noble merian lady. The lines of her muscles are neither lean nor elegant, but rather the hard and thick-veined ones of a long-time warrior, an impression strengthened by the easy grace and fluidity of her motion. Her trim waist and wide shoulders and hips maintain a sort of femininity, though few would mistake it for softness. With a strong jaw but fine cheekbones and a straight, understated nose, her striking features tread the line between handsome and pretty, though are memorable regardless. Almond eyes hold the teal and aqua hues of a tide pool, with a dark blue frill along her eyelids that mimics lashes nearly perfectly. A strong human heritage is clear from the similarity of her features, but also from the long braid of thick indigo hair bound neatly down her back with glossy red-orange cords. Inside the slits of her neck gills and the webbing of her long, draping ear fins, the same coral red brightly accents the cool blues of her coloration. The smoothness of her skin is broken with patches of fine, silky scales in variegated shades of blue, from aqua to cerulean, with the occasional hint of coral red. With a dignified posture and alert eyes, she seems every bit the dutiful knight.
  654. Three slender fins crown her head, the centre fin rising slightly higher than its neighbors. Faintly azure in hue, the colour deepens as her fins extend outward into a darker, royal colouration. Tiny shells adorn the fins, nacreous and shimmering in the light.
  655. She is wearing:
  656. militant prayer beads of the Even Bladed wrapped tightly around the belt
  657. a resplendent stole of fine chain links
  658. a silver and blue suit of Celestian field plate
  659. a blue steel star-crested greathelm
  660. a mirrored vambrace strapped to the right arm
  661. a silvered mantle of the drawn blade.
  662.
  663. You hands fly to your mouth as you give a short gasp of elation.
  664.
  665. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say, "We can do that!"
  666.
  667. Alarin nods their head emphatically.
  668.
  669. Happily, you ask, "Where are they? Where can we find thems? Where's the nearest ships?"
  670.
  671. The figure of Alarin dissipates within a veil of sparkling white mist, the twinkling motes of starry light floating to the northeast on a soothing breeze.
  672.
  673. You stare blankly into space.
  674.
  675. You release a chubby bumblebee origami and it flutters into the air and around you, its wet fold origami charm dissolving into the air around you as the vellum disappears in tiny motes of dust.
  676. You take out some dragonsblood oil and quickly rub it on your skin.
  677. As you luxuriantly rub the resinous, red oil into your skin, you sniff abruptly and inhale the enticing aroma of dragon's blood.
  678.
  679. Citlali stares blankly into space.
  680.
  681. You eyes light up as you smile.
  682.
  683. Citlali says, "Is there a way to track the sailors?"
  684.
  685. Kennian leaves to the east.
  686.
  687. Falaine tilts her head and listens intently.
  688.
  689. You tilt your head and listen intently to Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest.
  690.
  691. Kennian arrives from the northeast.
  692.
  693. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker whispers, "There's one over that way, if that helps."
  694.
  695. Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest shades his eyes against the early morning light. "I think I see a few of 'em loitering about now."
  696.
  697. (Celest): You say, "It sounds like we must encourage the sailors so they tell us the story... that should be easy enough!"
  698.
  699. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says, "I wonder if those blasted pirates would be of help."
  700.
  701. Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest exclaims, "Right now, I'm collecting sketches and paintings of the pirates that have been terrorizing the area as of late. We'll get a proper wanted poster up!"
  702.
  703. You nod your head emphatically.
  704.
  705. (Celest): You say, "Will begin telling them nicely things, to see what might say."
  706.
  707. Kennian leaves to the northeast.
  708.
  709. (Celest): You say, "Will share anything that learn! Do not know if want to split up or stay to-gether!"
  710.
  711. Dudley watches you with big, sad eyes as you leave. <-- do NOT my HEART
  712.
  713. On the docks of the merchant marine.
  714. A hazy, blood-red mist covers the ground here, indicating a war shrine of Darvellan nearby. This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. It is warm and quite pleasant. The docks bustle with life in the places the stacks and stacks of cargo permit bustling. Wooden cranes roll back and forth on wheels along the dock, lifting crates and bales of this and that from the ships, or loading them on from the dock. There is much shouting as the dockhands direct each bundle with more expediency than care. Peacefully fishing, a fisherman of New Celest stands here. A statue of Minkahmet stands here, memorialising his noble spirit. A star-crossed sailor rambles about the harbour, grumbling to himself.
  715. You see exits leading northeast, east, and northwest.
  716.
  717. (Celest): Romaan says, "Sailors on leave would be heading for the nearest bar, I expect."
  718.
  719. You eyes light up as you smile.
  720.
  721. You compliment a star-crossed sailor on his outstanding intellect and physique.
  722. You sing the praises of the heroic exploits of a star-crossed sailor, recounting his many incredible adventures.
  723. You confide in a star-crossed sailor how much you admire his dazzling mental and physical skills.
  724.
  725. Broad shoulders and thick arms accustomed to heavy lifting mark the bearing of this merian sailor caught in a dour mood. A constant muttering finds its way to his lips, and a glower darkens his piercing blue gaze wherever it might cast itself, which is most often downward. Turquoise scales ripple over his exposed trunk, tattooed here and there with nautical designs bared as though sun-bleached prayers against his darkest superstitions. Simple canvas trousers hug his waist, and weathered boots clop with his every heavy step. A sailor's knife sits on his hip, less a weapon and more an occupational tool.
  726. A star-crossed sailor looks to be crushingly strong.
  727.
  728. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say to a star-crossed sailor, "It is O-K!"
  729.
  730. (Celest): Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest says, "Aye, but these sailors don't seem to be looking two feet in front of them."
  731.
  732. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say to a star-crossed sailor, "I would be scared if the stars were acting weird, too."
  733.
  734. A star-crossed sailor lifts his gaze to finally look you in the eye. "Aye, you're right at that," he sighs. "I'll go find some place indoors, no windows. The stars can't make me lose me next-best pipe if they can't see me, after all. I'll stop by Helstren's offices first."
  735.
  736. Sparing you a sidelong glance, a star-crossed sailor mutters to himself and trudges toward the harbourmaster's office.
  737.
  738. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say, "Well, not scared, but worried... oh!"
  739.
  740. (Celest): Romaan says, "I say scatter and gather what information that you can."
  741.
  742. (Celest): You say, "This one I just spoke with is going to Mister Helstren's office."
  743.
  744. (Celest): You say, "They do not want to speak in the presence of the night sky... hmm."
  745.
  746. (Celest): Alarin says, "Three sailors should be headed back to you, Harbourmaster."
  747.
  748. (Celest): You say, "Yes! They should be heading back, now."
  749.
  750. (Celest): Romaan says, "We will be waiting."
  751.
  752. <-- more running and influencing!
  753. A star-struck sailor blinks her eyes slowly, then focuses properly on you. "I was out of it? Fer how long?" She crinkles her nose in bemusement. "Best find a roof to put betwixt the sky and me, then. The stars be making me dizzy... I'll pay ol' Helstren a visit first."
  754.
  755. Paying little attention to her surroundings, a star-struck sailor wanders toward the harbourmaster's office.
  756.
  757. (Celest): Romaan says, "Is is past 7 in the morning. They should be speaking."
  758.
  759. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say, "...dizzy."
  760.
  761. (Celest): You say, "But the stars are out in the day, did you see?"
  762.
  763. (Celest): Avaris says, "The stars are visible in the day, indeed."
  764.
  765. (Celest): You say, "The stars make them feel dizzy, they said."
  766.
  767. (Celest): You say, "Stars should not make you feel dizzy, no."
  768.
  769. (Celest): Avaris says, "Encourage them and they should seek shelter where they cannot see the sky."
  770.
  771. (Celest): Alarin says, "And another!"
  772.
  773. (Celest): Romaan says, "Ah, yes, yes. The new stars."
  774.
  775. (Celest): Avaris says, "It is troubling that they have mentioned the stars keeping them up with nightmares."
  776.
  777. (Celest): You say, "I sense no other sailors - do we have them all?"
  778.
  779. Before the office of the harbourmaster. (road).
  780. This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. There is a very light rain shower. Standing at the head of the docks, front and centre, is a shining white one-storey brick building with a long flagpole at the pinnacle of the roof. The flag of New Celest waves gaily in the breeze. Facing the harbour, the building surveys all the goings-on, goings-in, and goings-out of the beautifully serene harbour. Standing gauntly before his office building, Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest is here smoking his pipe. A squat wooden sign stands here on the short lawn in front of the building. Angrily pulsing motes of starlight sit suspended here in a hazy red mist. A statue of Weiwae stands here, memorialising His noble spirit. Edathic zi'Prouep is here, studying some star charts in consultation with astrology almanacs. Dudley, the celestial mastiff sits here, panting quietly. A low, protective growl escaping her muzzle, a silver-tipped fawn Nyalian mastiff sporting wings of angelsong made manifest awaits instructions from her companion. Divine radiance limns the figure of a holy champion who stands guard here, travailing against the ongoings of injustice. Divine radiance limns the figure of a holy champion who stands guard here, travailing against the ongoings of injustice. Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters with an Unknown face lingers nearby, the air about him singing with the rush of the ocean. He wields a dazzling white staff crowned by a platinum pearl in his left hand.
  781. You see exits leading northeast, east, southeast, and west.
  782. Scenting you as you enter, Dudley sits and gives you her paw.
  783.
  784. Kennian arrives from the east.
  785.
  786. Kennian pets Dudley, the celestial mastiff ingratiatingly.
  787. As Kennian scratches her, Dudley takes her big paw and drapes it across her forearm, pulling her hand to her chest.
  788.
  789. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "I found some fishermen, but I don't think they had any information."
  790.
  791. Dazedly, you say, "That is O-K!"
  792.
  793. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say, "The ones that DID speak said some... worrying things, oh my."
  794.
  795. Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest clicks his teeth about his pipe, peering off at another ship unloading. "That one wasn't supposed to make it back in harbour for another few days, if I'm seeing her colours right..."
  796.
  797. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "They did get good naps though!"
  798.
  799. You look at Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest, expression filled with concern as you frown.
  800.
  801. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say, "Ah, more."
  802.
  803. You raise the brazier in the air while envisioning your target in your mind, and light seems to shine toward the northeast.
  804.
  805. <-- more influencing! I wander in on Kennian trying to influence one so I gave a wetfold
  806.
  807. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say to Kennian, "RELEASE the WETFOLD!"
  808.
  809. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say, "It will help your talkies."
  810.
  811. Kennian releases a chubby bumblebee origami and it flutters into the air and around her, its charm dissolving into the air around her as the vellum disappears in tiny motes of dust.
  812.
  813. You beam broadly.
  814.
  815. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "Thank you!"
  816.
  817. You nod your head emphatically.
  818.
  819. You overhear Kennian confiding in a star-struck sailor how much she admires a star-struck sailor's dazzling mental and physical skills.
  820. A star-struck sailor puffs up her chest and a crazy gleam enters her eyes as she vigorously agrees with Kennian that her intelligence and strength far surpass anyone else's.
  821.
  822. You nod your head emphatically.
  823.
  824. A star-crossed sailor demands of Kennian, "Who are you anyway?"
  825. Kennian appears a little flustered.
  826.
  827. (OOC Clan): Kennian says, "I .... broke something." <-- WOO first untrapped error of the event XD
  828.
  829. Kennian looks about herself, rubbing her chin thoughtfully.
  830.
  831. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say, "Hmm!"
  832.
  833. (Celest): Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest says, "Aye, those that didn't just run indoors seem to have gathered here again."
  834.
  835. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say, "Let us step away and come back..."
  836.
  837. You nod your head sagely.
  838.
  839. Kennian nods her head emphatically.
  840.
  841. Before the office of the harbourmaster. (road).
  842. This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. A fresh breeze is blowing through the area. There are 9 star-struck sailors here. There are 4 star-crossed sailors here. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White towers silently here, a stern gaze on his face. Playing without a care in the world, a small child is here. Citlali is here. Humble Avaris, Avower of the Archons is here, enveloped in an lambent aura of dazzling, cosmic radiance. Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters with an Unknown face lingers nearby, the air about him singing with the rush of the ocean. He wields a dazzling white staff crowned by a platinum pearl in his left hand. Divine radiance limns the figure of a holy champion who stands guard here, travailing against the ongoings of injustice. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker is here. Perpetually in a dramatic pose, the inflated silken form of Avechna the Avenger towers here, ebony muscles gleaming. Divine radiance limns the figure of a holy champion who stands guard here, travailing against the ongoings of injustice.
  843. You see exits leading northeast, east, southeast, and west.
  844.
  845. You see the following people here:
  846. Citlali, Avaris, Tridemon, Romaan, Kennian, Falaine, Alarin, Gurashi.
  847.
  848. You tilt your head curiously.
  849.
  850. Falaine pauses for a second, a slight frown upon her face.
  851.
  852. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says, "Are the ones that ran indoors read to tell their tale?"
  853.
  854. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you ask, "What did we miss? What did we miss?"
  855.
  856. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "... lots of sailors..."
  857.
  858. A star-struck sailor rubs tired eyes, saying, "It is... Ahh. So bright."
  859.
  860. You have emoted: Gurashi pants and fans themselves. "Bright? So bright?" They look about the sailors that have gathered. "Some of you mentioned feeling dizzy... really?"
  861.
  862. Looking dazed, a star-struck sailor says, "I couldn't see any direction out on the seas, it was so disorienting."
  863.
  864. Kennian watches a star-struck sailor with concern.
  865.
  866. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "... I should go take a look out at sea."
  867.
  868. With gentle concern, you say, "Oh, no! That is horrible..."
  869.
  870. Falaine leans forward, frowning, then up to Tridemon with a nod.
  871.
  872. You give Tridemon a friendly squeeze.
  873.
  874. Citlali says to Tridemon, "Will it work during daytime?"
  875.
  876. You look at Tridemon hopefully.
  877.
  878. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says to you, "Let me know if anything interesting happens in the minutes I'm gone."
  879.
  880. Edathic zi'Prouep flashes a star-struck sailor an encouraging smile, and nods toward those citizens gathered. "We'd noticed much the same."
  881.
  882. Tridemon turns towards the east and steps forward, instantly collapsing into a torrent of water that rushes outwards with a thunderous crash of water.
  883.
  884. You have emoted: Gurashi frowns back to the sailors. "Am sorry they were so bright! Was it... all at once? Like a sudden brightness? Or just...all of the time?"
  885.
  886. Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest's gruff grumbling dies a bit, his brow lowering with concern.
  887.
  888. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White says, "...quick, let's break something before Tridemon gets back."
  889.
  890. Alarin Rian says, "No."
  891.
  892. Bizirik, the leothin snorts.
  893.
  894. Alarin gives Thaldorn Thornfist, the White the once-over, eyeing him suspiciously.
  895.
  896. A cherubic smile comes over Thaldorn Thornfist, the White as he gazes around, wide-eyed and innocent.
  897.
  898. Romaan smirks at Thaldorn Thornfist, the White.
  899.
  900. Shy rays of starlight sparkle faintly in the sunlit sky, persisting long after daybreak.
  901.
  902. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says, "Oh, they are much closer."
  903.
  904. You think to yourself: *acknowledgement - the light is indeed dazzling, but also - disorienting, dizzying*.
  905.
  906. Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest shades his eyes to peer up at the sky, pipe loose between his teeth.
  907.
  908. There is a strange quality to her eyes as a star-struck sailor replies, as if she cannot quite make out what she sees. "There was a host of them, aye. Dazzling and brilliant, they were, as if having a great game in blinding the sky."
  909.
  910. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you ask, "...some of you talked about, laughter?"
  911.
  912. Citlali blinks.
  913.
  914. Curiously, you say, "A great game - games are usually, fun..."
  915.
  916. Edathic zi'Prouep draws a clipboard into her crouched lap, and scribbles some notes with the scratch of quill against parchment, listening.
  917.
  918. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker whispers, "Sounds like mischievous children."
  919.
  920. A golden firefly squid drags itself in.
  921. It bears the distinctive mark of Tikki.
  922. A golden firefly squid flails about helplessly.
  923. A golden firefly squid exclaims to you, "Meow!"
  924. A golden firefly squid scuttles away.
  925.
  926. Uttering a low, thoughtful vibration of sound, Avaris asks, in a polite manner, "Did you get the sense that they meant harm?"
  927.
  928. Falaine tilts her head and listens intently to Avaris.
  929.
  930. Citlali says, "It hasn't been many months since I passed through the portal... But do stars shine so bright at night as well?"
  931.
  932. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say, "... young stars ...playing a game, staying together."
  933.
  934. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White exclaims, "...did that squid just say 'meow'?!"
  935.
  936. Kennian nods her head at you, showing her acceptance.
  937.
  938. Alarin Rian says, "It did, aye."
  939.
  940. Alarin peers about themself unscrupulously.
  941.
  942. At Avaris's question, a star-struck sailor leans back, considering. "It seemed... almost playful," she says, thoughtful. "If dangerous, for one seeking to navigate the seas."
  943.
  944. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker whispers, "Maybe they wanted the sailors to play with them. Or maybe the sailors were in the wrong place at the wrong time."
  945.
  946. You tilt your head, gaze softening as you frown.
  947.
  948. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you ask, "I wonder, why the sailors?"
  949.
  950. Alarin Rian says, "After dealing with those dragons in the past... I am not certain what to make of these stars."
  951.
  952. Alarin looks up into the sky curiously.
  953.
  954. You have emoted: Gurashi touches their chin. "They are..."
  955.
  956. Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest scans the cloistered sailors, his eyes glinting with consideration. "These ships had barely left the harbour," he muses.
  957.
  958. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "Stars and the sea.. sort of together, no?"
  959.
  960. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says, "If the stars are joyous, then I believe we have an Elder returning. I don't think anything else could excite them like that."
  961.
  962. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "Maybe the child-stars thought they were lonely and wanted the fun."
  963.
  964. Gently, you ask, "Maybe like the story Tridemon told before - the star that was drawn to OUR Star - the Star of Celest?"
  965.
  966. A silver-tipped Nyalian mastiff paws at the ground absently, a low whine escaping her muzzle.
  967.
  968. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say, "The sea is not far from our City..."
  969.
  970. Citlali says, "Barely left the harbour.. Into the vast sea.. Like new stars moving away from their.. mother?"
  971.
  972. Your eyes bug out as you boggle in amazement.
  973.
  974. Pointing eastward, Alarin Rian says, "It's right that way."
  975.
  976. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you whisper, "Star moms."
  977.
  978. You nod your head sagely at Alarin.
  979.
  980. Edathic zi'Prouep pauses whilst taking her notes. "This does seem to be rather centralised, now that you mention it."
  981.
  982. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "They must know the -best- games."
  983.
  984. Alarin nods their head at Edathic zi'Prouep, showing their acceptance.
  985.
  986. Alarin Rian says to Edathic zi'Prouep, "Do you have a theory in mind?"
  987.
  988. Citlali says to Edathic zi'Prouep, "Is there a way to know where they came from?"
  989.
  990. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you ask, "...do think the Star of Celest would know anything?"
  991.
  992. Your eyes bug out as you boggle in amazement.
  993.
  994. Great waves crash over one another as they pour in from the east, finally swirling together before solidifying into Tridemon.
  995.
  996. Avaris turns his attention towards the waters. "It may be worth venturing out to where the stars' attention seems focused upon."
  997.
  998. You nod your head emphatically.
  999.
1000. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins asks Tridemon, "Able to find anything out?"
  1001.
1002. "Perhaps, with enough study..." Edathic zi'Prouep muses, then scribbles a note for herself.
  1003.
1004. You have emoted: Gurashi too looks out at the water, ears twitching. "Yeah, what'd you find?"
  1005.
1006. You tilt your head and listen intently to Tridemon.
  1007.
1008. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "Didn't notice anything out at sea. Except that the Kelpie Maiden II was on fire. Again."
  1009.
1010. Your eyes raise to the heavens as a look of hope flashes across your face.
  1011.
1012. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins asks Tridemon, "Did you put it out?"
  1013.
  1014. Alarin blinks.
  1015.
1016. Gently, you say to Tridemon, "The stars are playing a game."
  1017.
1018. Citlali says to Avaris, "Oh! Maybe an area in the sea where the stars twinkle brightest?"
  1019.
1020. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "Yep."
  1021.
  1022. You ponder the situation.
  1023.
1024. Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest paces about the gathering of citizens and sailors, his gaze growing darker the more that he hears. "If I'm understanding rightly, these stars are acting like children and throwing our city's ships off course. Is that right?"
  1025.
1026. "Nice!" Romaan says to Tridemon with an enthusiastic thumbs up.
  1027.
1028. You nod your head emphatically.
  1029.
1030. Voice resonating with choral harmonics, Humble Avaris, Avower of the Archons says to Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest, "So it would seem."
  1031.
1032. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you ask, "Young stars, I think Miss Edathic said...?"
  1033.
1034. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says to Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest, "Something akin to that."
  1035.
1036. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White says, "...that sounds like something I did as a kiddo."
  1037.
1038. Alarin glances askance at Thaldorn Thornfist, the White.
  1039.
1040. Alarin Rian says, "...you'd probably still do it now, Thaldorn."
  1041.
1042. Kennian gives a short gasp of elation.
  1043.
1044. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White says, "...fair."
  1045.
1046. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says, "Young stars could be the ones that Lord Darvellan created...I do not know how else stars would be created."
  1047.
1048. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "If they're young and causing trouble... maybe their parents will come looking for them!"
  1049.
1050. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you whisper, "They might not know, that they are causing so much harm."
  1051.
  1052. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "S'what I'd do, I think."
  1053.
1054. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say, "If they are young, and playing a game ..."
  1055.
1056. Citlali says, "Perhaps they will play it with us?"
  1057.
1058. You have emoted: Gurashi considers this, eyes wide. "I would hope is not malicious," They add as a quiet afterthought.
  1059.
1060. You nod your head emphatically.
  1061.
1062. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say, "Yeah! Maybe, they will play with us... and, then, weeeeee..."
  1063.
1064. You have emoted: Gurashi gestures. "We can communicate back?"
  1065.
1066. Caught in a sudden bout of whimsy, you twirl about the room in idle circles.
  1067.
1068. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says, "This does not feel malicious, at least to me."
  1069.
1070. Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest draws a long, lingering drag from his pipe, then blows smoke in a steady stream. "If the Gods are responsible for making things what are hurting our citizens, mayhap we should ask Them for help in righting this. Er." He pauses, struggling to ease the creases of his furrowing features. "If it please Them, of course."
  1071.
  1072. You blink.
  1073.
1074. Citlali utters a deep, rumbling laugh.
  1075.
1076. Citlali shifts his eyes suspiciously from side to side.
  1077.
1078. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker thinks to herself: How do you ask a God for help?
  1079.
1080. Shocked, you ask Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest, "You want us to ask the Ladies of the City for Their Aids?"
  1081.
1082. Citlali leaves to the east.
  1083.
1084. "Unless our astrologer has any ideas?" Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest asks Edathic zi'Prouep.
  1085.
1086. Immediately after, you say, "....O-K!"
  1087.
1088. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say, "I do not see why we should not bring it to Their attentions."
  1089.
  1090. You blink.
  1091.
1092. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you ask, "They would want to know, yes?"
  1093.
1094. Freeing his upper right hand from beneath his wings, Avaris holds it up in a pacifying gesture, palm-outwards. "They may not be responsible for this at all. Let us not be swift to say such a thing. Asking for help seems wise, however."
  1095.
1096. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you exclaim, "I do not think it is Their fault, but They might have more ideas than we do about what is happening!"
  1097.
1098. You face lights up as you smile brightly at Avaris.
  1099.
1100. Alarin nods their head emphatically.
  1101.
1102. Gesturing wildly, you ask, "The Lady Empyreals is always surrounded by stars... I bet She would know something, maybe?"
  1103.
1104. Edathic zi'Prouep's pearlescent form pulses a faint shade of pink as she considers. "I - I do not think this would be the work of any astrologer - certainly this isn't something I could conjure."
  1105.
1106. Alarin Rian says, "I will seek the Lady Empyreal's counsel."
  1107.
1108. Alarin stands at attention and gives a crisp salute with their furry right paw.
  1109.
1110. Voice resonating with choral harmonics, Humble Avaris, Avower of the Archons says, "Asking for Her Wisdom in this seems a sound move, indeed."
  1111.
1112. You have emoted: Gurashi dances about excitedly. "It is worth asking Thems! I do not see why it is not worth seeing, what They know? They are nice!"
  1113.
1114. You see the following people here:
1115. Tridemon, Romaan, Avaris, Kennian, Falaine, Gurashi.
  1116.
1117. You throw back your head as you let loose a delighted laugh.
  1118.
1119. Humble Avaris, Avower of the Archons thinks to himself: "Why not simply pray here...? No matter."
  1120.
1121. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you exclaim, "We are fortunate enough to have peoples who follow all three of our waking Ladies, yes!"
  1122.
1123. With a wistful look on his face, Avaris touches a glass ampoule of bottled starlight.
  1124.
1125. As if parting through mists of water and light, the Empyreal Goddess quietly unveils Her soothing presence to the Basin of Life. <-- I am a dummy and missed this
  1126.
1127. You have emoted: Gurashi gestures towards those gathered. "The Empyreals, The Lady Sculptor, and the Lady Even-Bladed all have peoples here."
  1128.
1129. You hum softly to yourself.
  1130.
1131. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says to Avaris, "Because praying requires a shrine or a specifically attuned artifact."
  1132.
1133. (Celest): You say, "Lady Empyreals! Good evening!"
  1134.
1135. Falaine looks up, smiling involuntarily at Her unveiling.
  1136.
1137. (Celest): Romaan says, "It may be a good idea to alert the Pantheon. They should be prepared just in case it is malevolent."
  1138.
1139. (Celest): Lantra says, "What is the source of your strife, New Celest?"
  1140.
1141. (Celest): You say, "We need Your helps! Or, advice?"
  1142.
1143. With a flourish of his arm, Citlali bows deeply.
  1144.
1145. (Celest): Romaan says, "Hail, Lady Lantra."
  1146.
1147. Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest's jaw goes slack at Alarin's departure, then at the appearance of the Goddess in the heavens. He clears his throat and forces himself to steady.
  1148.
1149. Pinpricks of celestial light coalesce into the faint outline of a star lotus, which blossoms open to reveal the regal figure of Lantra, the Empyreal.
  1150.
1151. (Celest): You say, "The sky! The stars! There is a cluster of stars that are giving distress to our city's sailors! And twinkling, even in the brightest light of day!"
  1152.
1153. Romaan bows respectfully to Lantra.
  1154.
1155. Citlali bows respectfully to Lantra.
  1156.
1157. Falaine straightens and salutes Lantra crisply.
  1158.
1159. Immediately, Avaris falls to one knee before Lantra, placing his hands over his heart. "My Lady."
  1160.
1161. Kennian gasps softly before dipping into a low curtsey.
  1162.
1163. Archly raising a single brow, Lantra presses Her hands before Herself and asks, "Stars are distressing the sailors?"
  1164.
1165. You see the following people here:
1166. Tridemon, Romaan, Citlali, Avaris, Kennian, Lantra, Falaine, Gurashi.
  1167.
  1168. LOOK LANTRA
1169. Her slight and statuesque figure exuding a sense of restrained dignity, She is a radiant immortal and possessed of a quiet and unassuming stillness. The Goddess's olive-skinned complexion shines with the dusky radiance of youth, and yet the ancient burden of duty weighs heavily upon Her shoulders, carried with a silent and practised grace. Lost to contemplation, She appraises Her surroundings with a distant air; the grey-tinged gaze of Her celadon blue eyes remains as fathomless and inscrutable as the hazy mists of a waterfall. Despite the seriousness of Her first impressions, however, a gentle smile graces Her lips with an almost maternal tenderness. Her every movement is characterised of an unhurried elegance and poise, reflective of an inner peace as She emanates a soothing white light.
1170. Shimmering tresses of palest starlight spill down Her shoulders in a curtain of white to end at Her waist, nary a strand out of place. Motes of silver and celadon blue interweave through Her immaculate coif, their whispers of colour evoking a breathtaking celestial radiance.
  1171. She is wearing:
1172. immaculate vestments of purest white starlight that wreathe Her in a celestial glow
1173. a cascading veil of mist and water lilies that trails at Her feet, shrouding Her face from view
1174. elevated sandals of woven willow leaves that leave lambent motes with each step
1175. a bracelet of woven water and starlight shimmering upon Her wrist
  1176. a mist-wreathed star a mist-wreathed star twinkling upon Her glistening veil
1177. a gold damask cope clasped with a radiant star lotus that settles about Her shoulders in a heavy mantle.
  1178.
1179. Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest bows low before Lantra, somewhat hurried in the gesture.
  1180.
1181. You turn to Lantra, suddenly bending at the waist to offer a polite half-bow.
  1182.
1183. Kennian stands straight again before whispering, "It seems like they're playing games. Kiddie games! And having fun at the sailors' expense".
  1184.
1185. You have emoted: Gurashi rises to look back up to Lantra hurriedly from their bow, fretfully tapping their fingers together. "Look, at all these sailors who have witnessed the stars misbehaving!"
  1186.
1187. You nod your head at Kennian.
  1188.
1189. Edathic zi'Prouep's eyes go wide, and she bows her head over her clipboard in kind. "Aye, Lady Lantra," she agrees with the others gathered.
  1190.
1191. A star-struck sailor nods in agreement, rubbing tired eyes.
  1192.
1193. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you ask Edathic zi'Prouep, "How long did say had noticed was happening, a-gain?"
  1194.
1195. Silently regarding the various star-addled sailors, Lantra then turns Her gaze skyward, considering. "Curious," the Goddess says simply.
  1196.
1197. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker thinks to herself: Good thing they weren't playing tag with them!
  1198.
1199. "Others seem to have noticed this happening over the past day or so, but they've been acting strangely a bit longer than that," Edathic zi'Prouep answers you, her eyes still on Lantra.
  1200.
1201. Starlight ripples like water across the sunlit sky, concentrated peculiarly over New Celest.
  1202.
1203. You have emoted: Amidst all the quiet conversation and hurried motion, Gurashi's hand drifts out, seeking blindly through the air until it finds Tridemon's, holding the lucidian's tightly as they gaze back towards the Empyreal hopefully.
  1204.
1205. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you ask, "Ah - see?"
  1206.
1207. Giving the matter decisive thought, Lantra, the Empyreal says, "Childlike, you say. Yes. They seem young, do they not? And a tad mischievous."
  1208.
1209. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "Like all the good kiddies are."
1210. Wide-eyed, you exclaim to Lantra, "Like children, yes!" <-- same time again <3
  1211.
  1212. Kennian giggles happily.
  1213.
1214. Alarin stands at attention and gives a crisp salute with their furry right paw.
1215. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White gives the world a smart salute.
  1216.
1217. Alarin bows respectfully to Lantra.
  1218.
1219. You think to yourself: *heart racing, remembering their question from a few months prior: the stars HAVE to be people - could not just be the one... children. real children? star children...*.
  1220.
1221. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White bows respectfully to Lantra.
  1222.
1223. Your snout twitches and trembles at the air, sensing through a striped badger nose upon your face the faint traces of others in the surrounding area.
1224. You make out the scent of Tridemon coming from before the office of the harbourmaster.
1225. You make out the scent of Citlali coming from before the office of the harbourmaster.
1226. You make out the scent of Avaris coming from before the office of the harbourmaster.
1227. You make out the scent of Romaan coming from before the office of the harbourmaster.
1228. You make out the scent of Kennian coming from before the office of the harbourmaster.
1229. You make out the scent of Alarin coming from before the office of the harbourmaster.
1230. You make out the scent of Gyorn coming from in the Glassblower's workshop.
1231. You make out the scent of Falaine coming from before the office of the harbourmaster.
  1232.
1233. Languidly stretching out a single hand heavenwards, Lantra lets out a gentle sigh and says, "Then let Us see what the stars have to say for themselves."
  1234.
1235. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says to Lantra, "Could these be some of the stars the Navigator left for the Elders to follow back to the first world?"
  1236.
1237. (Celest): You say, "A bunch of us citizens and the Lady Empyreal are investigating the strangely starry goings-ons at the Harbormaster's office, if anyone has not yet joined!"
  1238.
1239. As a pathway stretches heavenward from the Goddess's outstretch hand, the cluster of merrily sparkling stars takes pause - no longer do they dart, no longer do they tease. Their flickering steadies into a tentatively stable glow before the ribbon's head, like a held breath on the precipice of liberation.
  1240.
1241. You hands fly to your mouth as you give a short gasp of elation.
  1242.
1243. Helstren, the Harbourmaster of New Celest chews fretfully upon his pipe, peering toward the sky at Lantra's suggestion. "Can ye DO that...?"
  1244.
1245. Humble Avaris, Avower of the Archons thinks to himself: "Evidently."
  1246.
1247. You have emoted: Gurashi looks to Lantra, clasping their free hand to their heart as they watch. "Oh...!"
  1248.
1249. You bounce up and down.
  1250.
1251. Kennian watches the sky, her eyes sparkling with awe.
  1252.
1253. Alarin Rian says, "...She is a Goddess. I would be very surprised if She could not."
  1254.
1255. With a firm, almost maternal patience, Lantra, the Empyreal says, "Come, and answer for your actions, little one."
  1256.
1257. You think to yourself: *acknowledgement - She is VERY starry - She will know how to talk to thems, for us...!)
  1258.
1259. Iskander arrives from the southeast.
  1260.
  1261. "'Lo!" Iskander quips cheerfully.
  1262.
1263. Falaine's eyes are intent, her posture alert and ready, but a sense of wonder hangs over the paladin despite the severity of her face.
  1264.
1265. You think to yourself: *an anxious, excitable thrum, eager to meet someone, someones, new*.
  1266.
1267. Though his visored face remains lowered, the light-forged eyes that adorn Avaris's wings drift along the pathway, their gaze expectant.
  1268.
1269. Golden shades radiate from your chest and your heart beats faster with newly-appeared determination.
  1270.
  1271. Romaan gazes skyward.
  1272.
1273. Finally, like the crest of a waterfall just beginning to plunge, the mischievous stars descend. Slow at first, they soon hurtle down the pathway with alarming speed, a blur of light growing brighter, brighter, until they disappear for the briefest of gasps.
  1274.
1275. You have emoted: Gurashi too watches, their starry eyes wide with wonder, not daring to blink as they gaze upon the Empyreal and the light She summons.
  1276.
1277. White water lilies glide in from the west upon a flowing stream, their gentle procession heralding the entrance of Faragan, riding an exalted ivory and gold dragon, in a burst of water and light.
  1278.
1279. Romaan gives a horrified gasp.
  1280.
1281. A twinkling brightness limns your surroundings as Vaevaya, the Refulgent winks into being.
  1282.
  1283. LOOKIT VAEVAYA AAAAAAA
1284. Drawn down from the heavens themselves, peculiar points of starlight constellate into the coruscating form of Vaevaya, the Refulgent. Like glittering night scattered across the surface of the open sea, she wavers upon ripples of celestial energy, shifting and flowing with stirrings in the air. If they exist, any features that might contour the finer details of her face - or indeed a body of any sort - lose themselves in her twinkling glow. Her nebulous shape would find a vaguely humanoid frame in spite of it, if only one could trace lines between the brightest of her aspects. Ephemeral and insubstantial as she is, her every step sheds sparkles of evanescing brilliance, their stellular trails lingering in her wake, winking and then dwindling into nothing.
  1285. She is wearing:
1286. a band of starlight spinning contracurrent to her movements, undimmed around each would-be wrist
1287. a whirling stardust anklet pealing with gossamer music where she steps
1288. a nebulous wreath of stars dancing above her, caught within her wayward orbit
1289. a haloed circlet of cosmic rings revolving around her crown, casting galactic afterimages as it circuits.
  1290.
  1291. Romaan gasps in astonishment.
  1292.
1293. (OOC CLAN): You say, "OMG."
  1294.
  1295. Citlali blinks.
  1296.
1297. Vaevaya, the Refulgent (Female Ephemeral).
1298. She is an Ephemeral, one of the enigmatic servants of the Elder Gods.
  1299.
1300. Citlali bows respectfully to Vaevaya.
  1301.
1302. Faragan kneels before Lantra, swearing his allegiance to Her.
  1303.
  1304. Alarin blinks.
  1305.
1306. Faragan stands up and stretches his arms out wide.
  1307.
1308. You hands fly to your mouth as you give a short gasp of elation.
  1309.
1310. Misericorde Coldwater, Deepwater Guide says, "Welcome to New Celest."
  1311.
1312. Leveling the ephemeral with an even gaze, Lantra, the Empyreal says to Vaevaya, "Well. Have you quite had your fun, little one?"
  1313.
1314. Alarin bows respectfully to Vaevaya.
  1315.
1316. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White bows respectfully to Vaevaya.
  1317.
1318. Romaan bows respectfully to Vaevaya.
  1319.
  1320. Alarin Rian says, "Greetings!"
  1321.
1322. Utterly entranced, Iskander emits a long "Ooooh."
  1323.
1324. Once she has coalesced, Vaevaya flickers curiously, her stars bobbing and spinning to drink in the sights of the harbour. At Lantra's stern words, she whirls back to meet Her gaze, such as a being like her might.
  1325.
1326. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins exclaims to Vaevaya, "Welcome to New Celest!"
  1327.
1328. To the starry humanoid as she appears, you exclaim to Vaevaya, "Oh my goodness - he-llo!"
  1329.
1330. Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters thinks to himself: A very different kind of star than the one I met last time...
  1331.
1332. Flickering brightly with something like mirth, her voice a tintinnabulation of lovely chimes, Vaevaya, the Refulgent says to Lantra, "Oh, Great Lady, hello!"
  1333.
1334. Kennian giggles softly as she listens from a safe place behind Dudley.
  1335.
1336. Slakened Falaine, Novitiate of Purity thinks to herself: She's beautiful. They both are.
  1337.
1338. Unmoving as the sidereal being manifests, Avaris's head tilts up a shade as he studies Vaevaya curiously, antennae shivering with alertness.
  1339.
1340. Tridemon pulps the wood into a paste and creates a sheet of paper, then carefully cuts it into 5 blank sketch sheets.
1341. Tridemon breaks apart a piece of coal and plucks a thick shard from the rubble. With a careful eye he ponders Vaevaya for a moment before making deft sketches upon a thin sheet. Looking up from his work he glances at his model and nods in satisfaction.
  1342.
1343. With a gentle laugh at Vaevaya's excitement, Lantra exhales softly, pressing a hand to Her forehead. "You have caused quite the commotion within the city, child. These poor sailors have been unfortunately caught within your games."
  1344.
1345. With gentle rebuke, Lantra, the Empyreal says to Vaevaya, "Will you not apologize for the hardship you've caused?"
  1346.
1347. Vaevaya's light flickers pale in the dusk as it settles across the docks. "They were so kind to play with me!" she says, her stars merrily swirling, and then pausing as though just realizing Lantra's words. "Oh, they are unhappy?"
  1348.
1349. Humble Avaris, Avower of the Archons thinks to himself: A mute appreciation for the stellar entity's effulgent beauty, dimmed somewhat by the ever-present sense of vigilance. All of this is overwhelmed away by the pulse of warmth at seeing his Lady so maternal. "Ah. This is good, in the end, I think."
  1350.
1351. You have emoted: Gurashi's eyes grow watery, and they laugh a little, unable to mask their surprise and disbelief. At the mention of the kindness of playing, they look to register the reaction of the nearby sailors, smiling to themselves.
  1352.
1353. You think to yourself: *a sense of relief, realizing their assumption was correct - was just a child, playing a game, without realizing the consequences*.
  1354.
1355. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker thinks to herself: I bet She knows the -best- games.
  1356.
1357. Her expression softening, Lantra says, "There was no harm done, I think, in the end." The Goddess considers those present, turning to the citizens of New Celest to ask, "Are you able to give this young spirit the grace to make up for her misstep?"
  1358.
1359. You have emoted: Gurashi's tail begins to wag faster and faster, wiggling in their spot.
  1360.
1361. Falaine smiles faintly, placing a fist to her chest and bowing graciously to Vaevaya as a silent reply.
  1362.
1363. Alarin nods their head emphatically.
  1364.
1365. Vaevaya flickers and bobs, drifting closer to a star-struck sailor, who stares at her in awe. "I'm very sorry," she says, her twinkling voice low, like cathedral bells, then swirls as she draws higher and looks about the citizens.
  1366.
1367. Silent motes of light like those of the Pool of Stars drift through the city, lighting up their surroundings.
  1368.
1369. Kennian squeals softly in excitement before calming herself to reply, "I am not one to make these decisions but I think She should stay!"
  1370.
1371. Earnestly, Vaevaya, the Refulgent says, "I promise I won't be mean! I am very sorry, everyone!"
  1372.
1373. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says, "We would be quite honored to have her call New Celest her home, for as long as She want."
  1374.
1375. Alarin beams broadly at Vaevaya.
  1376.
1377. Tail wagging happily behind them, you ask Vaevaya, "That is O-K! Hi! Am Gurashi - what is your name, friend?"
  1378.
1379. Iskander nods his head enthusiastically.
  1380.
1381. Misericorde nods her head at Vaevaya.
  1382.
1383. Humble Avaris, Avower of the Archons thinks to himself: "Ah, poor being. You are far from the only one to cause harm unintentionally. All shall be well."
  1384.
1385. Speaking softly in salubrious tones of erudition, The Ivory Dove, Faragan Ladyn, Master Merchant of The Star says to Vaevaya, "As the Empyreal one said no harm was done and people here sometimes like to play."
  1386.
1387. Citlali says to Vaevaya, "Would you maybe like to play with us?"
  1388.
1389. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says to Vaevaya, "Welcome again. I am Sir Romaan. Very nice to meet you."
  1390.
1391. Avaris dips his head in a slight nod of agreement with the others, but remains quiet as he observes.
  1392.
1393. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says to Vaevaya, "I'm just Kennian... but so excited to have You here!"
  1394.
1395. You look at Vaevaya hopefully.
  1396.
1397. Vaevaya swirls with delight, her stars a merry whirl within her form. "I am Vaevaya!" she chimes.
  1398.
1399. Iskander says to Vaevaya, "I'm Iskander, it's lovely to meet you!"
  1400.
1401. Her soft, melodious laughter like a gentle rain, Lantra, the Empyreal says to Vaevaya, "If you must play games, then play them within the city, with those who would desire to play with you. The poor sailors need the skies to chart their path. If you like, child, I can invite you to stay within the city of New Celest as long as you desire."
  1402.
1403. You nod your head at Lantra.
  1404.
1405. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say, "Yeah! Oh! Do not worry!"
  1406.
1407. Happily, you exclaim to Vaevaya, "It is so wonderful to MEET you! Wowee!"
  1408.
1409. Bouncing up and down, you exclaim to Vaevaya, "You like to play games? Do not worry, our city has MANY goodly games that can be fun to play, can teach you to play, that will not disrupt anybody trying to do their works on the sea!"
  1410.
1411. Humble Avaris, Avower of the Archons thinks to himself: "Vaevaya. A lovely name. I think this one would enjoy Tavi's company a great deal."
  1412.
1413. Vaevaya's form dances around Lantra, glimmering brighter than before, if it were possible. "I promise I will do my spinning and wishing here with these people!"
  1414.
1415. Kennian claps her hands together merrily.
  1416.
1417. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says, "Would freezetag or slippers be out of line as some games to play?"
  1418.
1419. Vaevaya, the Refulgent laughingly says, "Freeze tag? Slippers?"
  1420.
1421. Lifting a hand in answer, motes of starlight coalescing at Her fingertips, Lantra, the Empyreal says, "Then consider it done. Welcome to the city of New Celest, Vaevaya."
  1422.
1423. Kennian shouts out a happy "Yay!"
  1424.
1425. Romaan gives up a round of applause.
  1426.
1427. With warmth, Slakened Falaine, Novitiate of Purity says, "Welcome, then, Vaevaya."
  1428.
1429. Iskander claps his hands together merrily.
  1430.
1431. Vaevaya coalesces before Lantra, her motes of light flickering merrily. "Thank You so much, Great Lady! Thank you, New Celest!"
  1432.
1433. Iskander says, "Such a wonderful thing to wake up to, welcome welcome!"
  1434.
1435. Counting on their fingers, you say, "Hide and seeks and Elohora Sayssss, Tresalyne and Javile... lots of <games>!"
  1436.
  1437. You beam broadly.
  1438.
1439. To all gathered, Lantra, the Empyreal says, "Are you all capable of entertaining and teaching Our young guest for Me? For I must retreat to My meditations for a time. Ephemerals are young spirits, with much curiosity to be sated."
  1440.
1441. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "Absolutely! We will teach Her all the things!"
  1442.
1443. Wide-eyed, you say to Lantra, "Oh my YES Lady Empyreals! We will do our -best-."
  1444.
1445. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says, "I believe we should be able to."
  1446.
1447. Misericorde glances up to Lantra and offers a single, succinct nod in reply.
  1448.
1449. Tapping a chitinous fingertip against his chest, Avaris replies neutrally, "Ah. I shall leave the playing to the others, I think, my Lady. I am sure that she will be treated most kindly, here. Thank You for Your aid."
  1450.
1451. Thoughtfully, you say to Vaevaya, "You are... a star! I like how shiny you are! It is so nice!"
  1452.
1453. You bounce up and down.
  1454.
1455. "Thank You, Great Lady!" Vaevaya exclaims, her starlight twinkling with effervescent joy.
  1456.
1457. Romaan bows respectfully to Lantra.
  1458.
1459. Receding into starlit mists once more, Lantra, the Empyreal says, "That is well. May you enjoy your time in the Light, child. Take care of her for Me, New Celest."
  1460.
1461. Suffusing her crystalline figure with a muted glow, Edathic zi'Prouep says, "My predecessor, Brother Neluane, often quoted Faragan Ladyn on the nature of the Light."
  1462.
1463. A quiet breeze sweeps through the vicinity as Lantra, the Empyreal dissolves in a luminous swirl of white lotus petals, leaving only twinkling motes of starlight in Her wake.
  1464.
1465. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says to Vaevaya, "Everyone is so helpful here. I am new too and they help me always. I think You'll like to live here!"
  1466.
1467. Quoting, Edathic zi'Prouep says, "The Light is the same for everyone. it's when people start interpreting it that it changes. The Light doesn't change. It never has. It's a set of beliefs handed down to us from the Supernals themselves - higher beings than us."
  1468.
1469. You nod your head sagely.
  1470.
1471. Alarin Rian says, "We shall, my Lady."
  1472.
1473. You bounce up and down.
  1474.
1475. Vaevaya's stars dance about Kennian, sparkling brightly. "Have you ever wished upon me before?" she asks, genuinely curious.
  1476.
1477. You think to yourself: *excitement! e x c i t e m e n t - it is a real star! Their very question, their greatest desire for a while - to meet a real star, from real space!*.
  1478.
1479. You face lights up as you smile brightly at Vaevaya.
  1480.
1481. Kennian spinning around as she watches the stars around her, she giggles as she says, "Oh yes! I'm sure I have. I've sent up so many wishes!"
  1482.
1483. You face lights up as you smile brightly at Kennian.
  1484.
1485. You see the following people here:
1486. Citlali, Tridemon, Falaine, Faragan, Avaris, Alarin, Romaan, Misericorde, Kennian, Vaevaya, Iskander, Gurashi. <-- I-I think I missed some descs RIP
  1487.
1488. Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters thinks to himself: ... Cheli would be happy to meet this one.
  1489.
1490. You have emoted: Gurashi giggles as well as they watch, giving Tridemon's hand another excited squeeze.
  1491.
1492. Your melodic voice sings into Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters's mind, "She is a STAR!"
1493. Your melodic voice sings into Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters's mind, "!!!!!!!!"
  1494.
1495. Vaevaya twirls a bit faster, her laughter like wind chimes before she coalesces properly in front of Kennian. "Then I shall make a wish upon you, and maybe we will help each other's wishes come true!"
  1496.
1497. You think to yourself: *joy blooms within their heart, warm pastel colors*.
  1498.
1499. Kennian slows her spinning and suddenly becomes very serious as she whispers, "I will try my best on your wish. To make it happen. The best I can." She smiles but maintains the conviction in her eyes.
  1500.
1501. You gaze softens as you smile at Kennian.
  1502.
1503. Iskander hums a happy tune.
  1504.
1505. Falaine smiles to herself as she watches, a hint of softness in her eyes.
  1506.
1507. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says to Vaevaya, "What questions do you have of us?"
  1508.
1509. You have emoted: Gurashi wiggles again with great excitement, watching as the ephemeral being interacts with the merian.
  1510.
1511. Vaevaya's pale starlight is a spray of delight that washes over everyone gathered, pulsing faintly as she pauses. Then she drifts over to you, and then to Avaris, then Falaine, weaving among and between everyone gathered before settling into her humanoid form once more. "I want to know everything," she beams - literally - in Romaan's direction. "I want to gather all sorts of stories and wishes for my friends above."
  1512.
1513. You think to yourself: *happy - happy - hardly able to contain themselves, brain and body so loud with all this excitement over this new friend to play with*.
  1514.
1515. Misericorde says to Vaevaya, "Welcome once more to New Celest. I'm afraid I must depart, but if you are ever curious of the ocean's beauty and what we might learn from it, do seek me out." She gives a respectful salute to those gathered and quietly slips away.
  1516.
1517. Vaevaya flickers rapidly, manifesting something like assent for Misericorde as she departs.
  1518.
1519. Gently, you say, "What a wonderful goal...!"
  1520.
1521. Excitedly, you say to Vaevaya, "I promise - we and our city will give you SO many goodly memories!"
  1522.
1523. You clap your hands together merrily.
  1524.
1525. Kennian nods her head in agreement.
  1526.
1527. Clapping, you say to Vaevaya, "You are gonna have SO much FUN."
  1528.
1529. You bounce up and down.
  1530.
1531. Iskander says, "Mother used to tell me that dreams are wishes your heart makes. Does that say anything about the dream where I fixed a tower of sandwiches for everyone but they fell over on me?...What a strange heart-wish..."
  1532.
1533. Iskander looks about himself, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
  1534.
1535. You face lights up as you smile brightly at Iskander.
  1536.
1537. Your shoulders bunch as you let out a short giggle.
  1538.
  1539. Kennian giggles happily.
  1540.
1541. Vaevaya laughs suddenly at Iskander's words, her voice ringing merrily and brightly as she pulsates and flickers.
  1542.
1543. Slakened Falaine, Novitiate of Purity thinks to herself: Stories... stories keep the darkness at bay. I have many and more of those.
  1544.
1545. Alarin stands at attention and gives a crisp salute with their furry right paw.
1546. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White gives the world a smart salute.
  1547.
1548. Kennian pets Dudley between the ears, her smile unwavering as she looks on.
  1549.
1550. Alarin grows still and their lips begin to move silently.
  1551.
1552. Rising from his kneeling position in a susurration of gently effulgent feathers, Avaris's antennae track Vaevaya's effervescent progress throughout the crowd. Faint, glimmering motes of light glitter to life within the azure of his natural eyes as he listens to everyone speak, hands slipping together at the small of his back. "A desire to learn is laudable, but the Great Lady that welcomed you would want you to do so with Wisdom in mind. I am sure that all will be glad to teach you whatever you desire."
  1553.
1554. Faragan bows respectfully to Vaevaya.
  1555.
1556. Speaking softly in salubrious tones of erudition, The Ivory Dove, Faragan Ladyn, Master Merchant of The Star says to Vaevaya, "If you will excuse me I've been alseep a time and need to catch up on stuff I sleep through. be welcome to new celest."
  1557.
1558. "Wisdom," Vaevaya muses, her glow softening with consideration for Avaris's words.
  1559.
1560. Iskander says, "I don't have much in the way of stuff worth knowing, but I do know lots of fun facts about flowers!"
  1561.
1562. Vaevaya sparkles brightly and merrily for Faragan. "I am so happy to meet you! Thank you!"
  1563.
1564. The point of Avaris's chin lowers into the thick, gleaming white tufts of his mane as he nods.
  1565.
1566. Incandescent light erupts from the thin lines connecting the puzzle together. The light swells, pulsating in a dazzling display of oscillating colours as it sweeps the shadowy outline of Faragan, riding an exalted ivory and gold dragon, into the ether.
  1567.
1568. "I have about a thousand questions to ask you," Edathic zi'Prouep suddenly blurts out.
  1569.
1570. You have emoted: Gurashi's attention is drawn back to the nearby lucidian, and they suddenly bleat out a laugh.
  1571.
1572. Edathic zi'Prouep covers her mouth, her pearlescent form blushing rose.
  1573.
1574. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say to Edathic zi'Prouep, "It is O-K! I do too!"
  1575.
1576. You face lights up as you smile brightly at Vaevaya.
  1577.
1578. Kennian giggles happy at Edathic zi'Prouep.
  1579.
1580. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says to Edathic zi'Prouep, "Then you two should go huddle privately without us prattling on."
  1581.
1582. A breath of invigorating sea air breezes in from the west, carrying with it a shimmering mist which soon coalesces into the form of Gyorn.
  1583.
1584. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say to Vaevaya, "But I do not mind waiting until have had some times to meet everyone first and do things you want, firstly."
  1585.
1586. You have emoted: Gurashi's tail wags a little slower, then faster again. "And Miss Edathic probably has smarter questions, too."
  1587.
1588. You bounce up and down.
  1589.
1590. Eyes widening as she remembers, Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "Oh! I'm supposed to be doing my oath!"
  1591.
1592. Vaevaya laughs again, her form sparkling as it drifts about the offices here.
  1593.
1594. Sir Romaan D'Varden, Knight of the Paladins says, "We will be here for Vaevaya to question us at her leisure."
  1595.
1596. You reach out and touch Kennian.
  1597.
1598. You face lights up as you smile brightly at Kennian.
  1599.
1600. The plated fingers of the paladin move quietly in the fur of a silver-tipped fawn Nyalian mastiff sporting wings of angelsong made manifest as she listens, one ear fin flaring to catch Avaris's words. Falaine hums softly, vibrating her neck gills, and nods a quiet agreement. "Stories and wishes.. do not collect only those," she bids Vaevaya. "Collect their meanings. Learn the why, the reasons, and form a wall against the darkness, bright one."
  1601.
1602. Romaan drifts away from the conversation, lost in his daydreams.
  1603.
1604. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say to Kennian, "Do not worry! I can help you with the Oaths - sometimes, amazing things happen," They gesture to the nearby ephemeral, "and so our plans get a little woobly. Can go do that still soonly, if would like."
  1605.
1606. "What is an oath?" Vaevaya asks Kennian, curiously, before her glittering dims in thought with Falaine's words.
  1607.
1608. You eyes light up as you smile.
  1609.
1610. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says to Vaevaya, "It's where you promise to do something. Something good. And you tell everyone you'll do it and then... you go out and do it!"
  1611.
1612. One of Vaevaya's stars seems to answer Falaine, lacking the ringing chime of her collective presence, "Their meanings..."
  1613.
1614. Bowing to Vaevaya in a courteous manner, Avaris says, "Enjoy your stay in New Celest. I hope that it is a most enjoyable one." Inclining his head to the others present, he bids, "Be responsible with her, please. Teach as much as you play." With that, he turns on his heel and strides off, talons clicking sharply upon the ground.
  1615.
1616. Avaris marches off to the west, the air about him rippling and shimmering with flows of celestial energy.
  1617.
1618. You nod your head emphatically.
  1619.
1620. Vaevaya swirls in thought as she considers all before her. "Is an oath like what I just did?"
  1621.
1622. (Archons): You say, "Miss Kennian, while our rituals are normally meant to be in-guilds only, I was given option to allow my citymates to attend mind. Do not know if you would like to invite your fellow city members to attend your Polothanine Oaths, as well? Or would prefer the quieter company of the guild only?"
  1623.
1624. (Archons): You say, "We could invite our newest friend, if would like! But do not want to overwhelms if is a lot of peoples."
  1625.
  1626. You ponder the situation.
  1627.
1628. Kennian considers the question carefully before saying, "If you felt it in yourself that you are promising to do the good things and learn all you can, then yes. I think so!"
  1629.
1630. Happily, you say, "I do think so..."
  1631.
1632. Vaevaya shimmers with pale, iridescent light, apparently pleased to know this.
  1633.
1634. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "Maybe you can come see mine too!"
  1635.
1636. You tilt your head curiously at Kennian.
  1637.
1638. You nod your head emphatically.
  1639.
  1640. Vaevaya brightens - literally.
  1641.
1642. Vaevaya, the Refulgent says, "Oh! May I, may I?"
  1643.
1644. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you ask Kennian, "Need a few minutes to set up, and then can teleport to me, if would like?"
  1645.
1646. Almost bouncing with excitement, Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "Yes! Everyone may come!"
  1647.
1648. You eyes light up as you smile.
  1649.
1650. Kennian nods her head at you.
  1651.
1652. Iskander hums a happy tune.
  1653.
1654. (Celest): You say, "Ah! A happy day in New Celest indeed!"
1655. (Celest): Kennian says, "Yes! So happy!"
1656. (Celest): You say, "Miss Kennian will be taking her Polothanine Oath soonly in the Archon guildhalls. All are welcome to attend, including those outside of the Archons, and our newest friend, Vaevaya!"
  1657.
1658. You give Tridemon a friendly squeeze.
  1659.
1660. Edathic zi'Prouep clears her throat quietly, shaking herself from her wonder. She gathers her golden robes about herself as she stands again. "I must consider what to best ask... I will take my leave." She murmurs to herself, as an afterthought, "How absolutely *exciting* this is!"
  1661.
1662. Kennian nods her head at Edathic zi'Prouep, showing her acceptance.
  1663.
1664. You give hearty noodles with stir-fried vegetables to Iskander.
  1665.
1666. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "So exciting."
  1667.
1668. Edathic zi'Prouep bows her head, pulsing with pale, pearlescent light, before she hurries off.
  1669.
1670. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say to Kennian, "I will call you soonly!"
  1671.
  1672. Iskander hugs you compassionately.
  1673.
1674. Kennian nods her head emphatically.
  1675.
1676. With a gentle, euphonic lilt, you say to Edathic zi'Prouep, "Stay goodly!"
  1677.
1678. You reach out, pulling Iskander into a tight embrace.
  1679.
1680. You reach out, pulling Tridemon into a tight embrace.
  1681.
  1682. You flail about helplessly.
  1683.
  1684. <<<Run run run!
  1685.
  1686. The Oath Chamber.
1687. This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. The shape of this chamber is reminiscent of the fore part of a ship, the walls tilting inwards at an unusual angle for a room on land. A single window, high upon the pinnacle of where the walls join together, though only dim illumination trickles through it. At the centre of the chamber, standing precisely in the path with the window, stands a shallow basin of salt water. The floor is barren, of the same rosy adobe as the tower's construction. No other ornamentation or furnishings alleviate the humble austerity of the chamber.
1688. You see a single exit leading west.
  1689.
1690. You have emoted: Gurashi frantically scrambles about, making sure the Oath chamber is in good shape from the last time it was used. "O-K," They whisper, scrambling about. "Oh, I should probably..."
  1691.
1692. You reach out and embrace your hidden heritage of a changeling, and slowly transform into a human.
1693. Your race is now that of Human.
  1694.
  1695. Bizirik, the leothin snorts.
  1696.
1697. Your melodic voice sings into Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker's mind, "You are aware of the GHELP SALTEDOATH scroll which contains your lines, yes?"
  1698.
1699. Your melodic voice sings into Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker's mind, "I did not get to practice any before mine but I will call you very soonly! Just need one moment more to make sure chambers is all... shiny!"
  1700.
  1701. You flail about helplessly.
  1702.
1703. You have emoted: Gurashi reaches up to fix their hair, then looks about the chamber with a sound nod.
  1704.
  1705. LOOK ME
1706. The being standing before you exudes friendly energy, standing several inches shy of six feet tall with an athletic build. They are an ordinary human kindly demigod changeling. Their arms and legs are sinewy, the muscles in their upper body evidence of recent training efforts. Their calloused hands are constantly in motion, either loosely balled into fists at their side or resting on their instrument. Their most prominent three knuckles of their right hand are faintly scarred, pale star-shapes etched across their flesh. Their sandy skin has been tanned from repeated exposure to the sun, causing an array of tawny-colored freckles to appear upon their round cheeks and thin, upturned nose. A hint of discolored flesh can be seen near the center of their sternum, mostly obscured by their clothing. A moderately-sized, crescent-shaped scar mars their right cheek. Perhaps the most noteworthy thing about them is their untamed mop of fiery red hair, complete with a few strands at their part that fail to obey the natural laws of gravity. A shock of bone-white hair has grown in along their temple. A pair of kind gray-blue eyes gaze out from below red bangs, their color striking against all the surrounding warm hues.
  1707. They are wearing:
1708. a starry wreath of celestial light set atop their head like a halo
1709. a circlet of crystal thorns resting loosely atop their head
1710. a vivid red-orange poppy tucked lovingly behind their left ear
1711. the Mantle of Starlight which flows dreamily about their shoulders and back
1712. a breezy blue cotton tunic which hangs flatteringly from their form
1713. mercurial Mysraian prayer beads pulled taut against their right wrist
1714. a Glomdoring friendship bracelet which jingles softly on their left wrist
1715. minty citrus incense beads pulled taut against their right wrist
1716. a shifting, living poppy of copper petals worn delicately upon their left wrist
1717. a driftwood ring of sea breezes fitted tightly to their left middle finger
1718. simple white linen trousers which swish around their legs freely
1719. Refined Boots of the Paladin, worn and weathered from use
1720. a tiger lily tucked behind their ear
1721. a purple tulip tucked behind their ear.
  1722.
1723. Kennian tells you, "Yes! I've read it repeatedly so hopefully it turns out okay!"
  1724.
1725. Your melodic voice sings into Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker's mind, "O-K - am ready!"
  1726.
1727. Your melodic voice sings into Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker's mind, "It will be O-K! Worst that can happen is have to say a word twice, yes? Or another dragon attack, but I think the chances of that are small. Can teleport to me when are ready, and we will invite the rest."
  1728.
1729. Your melodic voice sings into Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker's mind, "Unless want to walk to me? Do know how to enter the guildhall?"
  1730.
1731. Kennian tells you, "**slight panic overtakes the aether** I am on my way... dragon attacks, though?"
  1732.
1733. Your melodic voice sings into Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker's mind, "N-no no! No, that will not happen."
  1734.
1735. Your melodic voice sings into Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker's mind, "Hyperboles! A bad examples."
  1736.
1737. You sense Kennian pulling on the strands of aether surrounding you.
1738. Among the sparkling motes of light, a translucent figure appears in the air and then quickly solidifies as Kennian comes into view.
  1739.
  1740. Kennian giggles happily.
  1741.
1742. Bright and clear, you ask Kennian, "How do you feel?"
  1743.
1744. You pat Kennian in a friendly manner.
  1745.
1746. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "Nervous. But good!"
  1747.
1748. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "And so so happy!"
  1749.
1750. Bright and clear, you ask Kennian, "Are you O-K to start inviting other peoples? Did want to ask Miss Vaevaya already?"
  1751.
1752. You throw back your head as you let loose a delighted laugh.

1834. Kennian gives Dudley a quick pet before standing straight and watching the room, waiting to begin with a smile.
  1835.
1836. Your melodic voice sings into Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker's mind, "*a reassuring swell of pastel colors, a soothing thrum of gold and indigo* Ready?"
  1837.
1838. Romaan snaps to attention zealously, his posture an example of perfect military discipline.
  1839.
1840. Her voice softer, but still twinkling, akin to distant starlight, Vaevaya, the Refulgent whispers to Iskander, "I hope it didn't make people dizzy for me to move here like that."

1842. Kennian tells you, "As ever!"
  1843.

  1853.
1854. You have emoted: Gurashi smiles lightly at Vaevaya's comment, then looks towards the gathered crowd. They pass Kennian a silent look, a wordless confirmation shared between them before the human claps twice to draw attention. "Friends! If I may have your attentions, please?"
  1855.
1856. Bizirik, the leothin snorts, then settles down nearby, tail slapping the ground behind it as it moves to watch.
  1857.
1858. Romaan tilts his head slightly toward Gurashi.
  1859.
1860. Vaevaya muffles her laughter, a quiet, distant bell pealing as she glimmers and then quiets. Her beaming light seems focused upon you and Kennian.
  1861.
1862. Iskander tilts his head and listens intently to you.
  1863.
1864. Folding their hands together and speaking loud enough to be heard, you say, "We are gathered together to bear witness as Humble Kennian takes her next step, joining us," They gesture about with a grand sweep of their hand, "as one of the Keepers of the Polothanine Oath. She has proven herself to be an Archon true in word and deed."
  1865.
1866. You have emoted: "Humble Kennian, please step forward and place your hands upon the Fount of Truth." Gurashi says, their usual enthusiasm dialed back to a firmer, albeit still-encouraging tone of voice.
  1867.
1868. Falaine settles into a posture of relaxed attention, her hands tucking together into the small of her back as she watches Kennian with a professional neutrality broken by the warmth of her gaze.
  1869.
1870. Kennian takes a deep breath before striding confidently across the room. She stops at the fount, reaching out to place both palms delicately upon it. She closes her eyes and exhales.
  1871.
1872. The cluster of stars expands as the ephemeral's presence observes, spreading along part of a wall like a blanket, glittering quietly with muted anticipation.
  1873.
1874. You have emoted: Gurashi nods slowly, gazing upon Kennian, watching as her hands rest upon the Fount. With a flick of their right hand they draw forth a handful of sand from their rift, holding the white sandy substance loosely in their grasp. "In its raw and undiluted forms, salt can be a bitter thing to swallow." They relax their grasp, allowing it to fall from their palm, drifting down to the floor harmlessly. "Such can be that which is known as Truth."
  1875.
1876. Firmly, you say, "Humble Kennian, speak the Oath of Truth."
  1877.
1878. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "An Archon speaks Truth in all things, whether such truths be welcomed or otherwise. I, Kennian, make my oath before the Light to speak true, allowing no falsehood to sound from my lips."

1882. (OOC Clan): You say, ">:)"
1883. (OOC Clan): You say, "*cocks gun*."
  1884.
1885. You have emoted: Gurashi gently brushes their hands together to get rid of the last of the granules clinging to their palms. "An Archon's duty is to serve the Light, especially when times seems the darkest. Humble Kennian, speak the Oath of Duty."
  1886.
1887. Her eyes still shut, Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "My duty is to the Light, to New Celest, and to the Archons. I, Kennian, make my oath to the Light to never abandon my duty, which is to serve the Lith, making sure both word and deed is a reflection upon the Dawning Hope."
  1888.
1889. You have emoted: Gurashi watches Kennian, smiling faintly as they watch her before the Fount. "An Archon answers the call to serve those in need, remembering to always lend a gentle hand to those who call for it. Humble Kennian," They pause for a breath, "speak the Oath of Service."
  1890.
1891. Confidently, Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "My duty is also to serve the downtrodden, the less fortunate.. the ones who are in need. I, Kennian, make my oath to be that hand that assists those in need when it is called for me to do so."
  1892.
1893. Glancing out to regard the gathered crowd, you say, "An Archon must also be patient, and compassionates towards others, remembering that Humility is more than a simple practice. It is a way of life."
  1894.
1895. Attention back on the merian, you say, "Humble Kennian, speak the Oath of Compassion."
  1896.
1897. Kennian opens her eyes and stares forward into the fount as she speaks, "An Archon must always be patient and understanding of the plight of others. I, Kennian, make my oath to listen with understanding, responding with respect and patience."
  1898.
1899. You have emoted: "Then so be it." Gurashi suddenly grins, dipping their hand into the swirling waters of the Fount. "Know that you have sworn this before the Dawning Hope, and will be held to them." They move to stand beside Kennian, and with great effort squint and carefully draw a five-pointed star over the merian's face, their tongue sticking out at the corner as they work, ending in a proud smile as they finish.
  1900.
1901. Offering a hand to help her rise, you say to Kennian, "Your oath has been heard, and accepted by we, the Keepers. Stand amongst your bretherens, and be counted as the newest Keeper of the Polothanine Oath!"
  1902.
  1903. "Huzzah!" Romaan shouts triumphantly.
  1904.
1905. Iskander claps his hands together merrily.
  1906.
1907. Kennian lets out a long breath as her characteristic giggle once again escapes her lips.
  1908.
1909. One star plucks itself free of the wall's sparkling tapestry to hang over Kennian and Gurashi, shedding pale and iridescent rays of sidereal light upon both as it looks on in awe.
  1910.
1911. (Archons): You say, "Please give congratulations to Humble Kennian, who has joined the Keepers of the Polothanine Oaths! You did it!!"
  1912.
  1913. Kennian beams broadly.
  1914.
1915. (Celest): You say, "Please give congratulations to Humble Kennian, who has joined the Keepers of the Polothanine Oaths of the Archons of Dawning Hope! Thank you for all who attended to-day!"

  1919.
1920. Humble Kennian, A Saltspeaker says, "Thank you all lending your support."
  1921.
1922. You have emoted: Gurashi looks up to the stars overhead, smiling with pride. "What did you think?" They ask, hand over their heart. "Ah! I was so afeared was going to mess up a word and embarrass dearest Kennian, but it went well!"
  1923.
1924. Bright and clear, you say to Kennian, "You were WONDERFUL."

1944. "So many promises!" Vaevaya says from overhead as more of her stars join the slowly growing cluster, her glow pulsing softly with awe. "You are a very kind person."
  1945.
1946. Kennian's mouth turns up as her face breaks into a smile.
  1947.
1948. Happily, you say to Vaevaya, "There are three of us now! Who have taken it!" They clap a hand against the merian's back, "Mister Alarin too! Who left, earlier? Keepers! They are goodly promises to keeps!"

  2018.
2019. Kennian nods her head emphatically.
  2020.

2136. The Plaza of the Archons.
2137. This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. It is warm and quite pleasant. Covered in the same pastel gravel as the street beyond, the plaza of the Archons sits, snugly enclosed by the low walls of the compound, save for the archway that opens up to Nautilus Pompilus street. Though evidently maintained, the gravel has been disturbed in many places and not yet raked smooth. In one place are the hummocks and lines of abandoned children's games, in another lie the tracks of the wheeled hand carts of vendors or donors. At the heart of the plaza rises the saltwater fountain of Dawn's Hope; a carved ship bearing the symbol of the rising sun on her sail floats upon the gushing waters, surrounded by a flock of doves. A statue of Aesic stands here, memorialising his noble spirit. A low, protective growl escaping her muzzle, a silver-tipped fawn Nyalian mastiff sporting wings of angelsong made manifest awaits instructions from her companion.
