Gon Freecss aspires to become a Hunter, an exceptional being capable of greatness. With his friends and his potential, he seeks for his father who left him when he was younger.
The story begins with a young boy named Gon Freecss, who one day discovers that the father whom he thought was dead, is in fact alive and well. He learns that his father, Ging, is a legendary &quot;Hunter&quot;, an individual who has proven themselves an elite member of humanity. Despite the fact that Ging left his son with his relatives in order to pursue his own dreams, Gon becomes determined to follow in his father&#39;s footsteps, pass the rigorous &quot;Hunter Examination&quot;, and eventually find his father to become a Hunter in his own right and wishing to see his father one day.
It starts slowly, at first it looked similar to One Piece for me. We meet our 4 main characters, and they are all very likable, especially Gon and Killua with their contrary personalities. It gets interesting by the middle of Hunter Exam arc and ends with an unexpected plot twist. It continues with the short Zoldyck Family arc. Then the Heavens Arena arc, this is where things get really interesting. They introduce Nen, the &quot;magic&quot; of the series. The next part is the Yorknew City arc, which is absolutely my favorite. Loved every aspect of the battle with the Phantom Troupe. The Greed Island arc was pretty interesting too, they introduced another type of magic with the cards and combined with Nen it became a complex battle. The Chimera Ant arc is very long and just like the beginning of the show at first its boring and gets better by every episode. The last arc is a bit different(it contains politics) but still very well made. The ending was perfect for this show.
This is a really fun and entertaining Anime that&#39;s all about one kid called Gon who is looking for his dad and the paths his dad laid out for him are truly incredible.<br/><br/>He gets stronger at such a strong rate but the series always shows that there are way stronger opponents so he always has someone to fight in the way that his father laid out.<br/><br/>This series shows a lot of fighting to get stronger but it also show that some people are meant to do incredible things. It&#39;s also a series that make you laugh really easily with all kinds of spontaneous and stupid humor that i love.<br/><br/>The old one was as great, the only differences are that in this one Killua looks even younger and the last one ended at one moment where something happened that could have ended the series but in this one they continue from that moment.<br/><br/>Watch this series, I beg you, and you won&#39;t ever regret it!

Both series are anime based on the Japanese manga &quot;Hunter x Hunter&quot;.<br/><br/>The original series that aired in 1999 was produced by Nippon Animation, and while it did follow the manga for the most part, it also deviated in many ways. Parts of the original story were altered, as well as &quot;filler&quot; episodes, which are unique to the anime and not found anywhere in the manga. Unfortunately, the writing of the manga went on hiatus during the production of this series, and as a result, the 1999 series could not complete the Hunter x Hunter story.<br/><br/>The 2011 series is produced by Madhouse Inc., and promises to follow the manga very closely.
