SMT:DS Mad Ramblings

*Sigh* Sometimes you just know a jump isn’t going to go well. When the firt thing I saw was Nyarko (or Nyarlathotep in it’s cute anime girl form) sitting on a wall swinging her legs Idly I knew things were going to get real complicated, real fast.
Nyarko greeted me warmly and told me it was good to see me again. She then commented about me having the worst luck for turning up in the middle of horrendous messes. She cheerfully told me that I should be careful since everyone in this city had less than 6 days to live. With that she vanished.

It was then I noticed al hell had broken lose. There were demons everywhere attacking people. The power was out. It was going to be one of those jumps, so I called my companions and we headed off for the nearest group of demons that were attacking people.
The strangeness began as I headed towards the crowds being attacked by the demons, I noticed that demons were either giving me a wide birth or were actually trying to help me. So this led the group of people I was trying to save to believe that I was commanding the demons. The demons cleared out but the people then started to attack me. I fled, not that I feared anything they could do to me I just didn’t want any of the demons thinking to carry favor with my by destroying the humans.

My companions and I looked around for one of the many properties that fallow me throughout my jumps. The first I found was a large mansion I had from the batman jump. Now in a place that was somewhat safe I opened up my Comp and examined it… the damn thing summoned a demon.

A little kobold popped out of it and started attacking me. I punted him through a wall and before I was about to dispatch him he begged me to stop and said I had proven myself and that our contract was now complete… that I could call on his power whenever I needed. If I could beat him, why would I need his power in the first place? Before he was able to disappear though; I asked him his name. It was Bob. Bob the Kobald. Bob took off as soon as he could. I think he was afraid of me.

I also noticed that this thing had a death clock feature… Apparently none of us were in danger of dying within the next 10 days. It occurred to me whoever made this thing was really messed up.

So I divide most of my first few days between exploring the comp and saving people. Discover that I must be under a drawback because I keep getting attacked by crowds of civilians I am trying to protect I would face palm but I sort of did it to myself here.
Figure out I am in the SMT universe/multiverse, I toy with going to visit YHVH but decide for now I have enough problems without pissing heaven off.

As a Guardian from SMT I can feel a big turning point for humanity coming up, sadly I don’t know what in the hell it is yet.
Some time on the third day as I was looking around I saw a 3 story tall silver guy attacking some high school kids. They apparently had comps as well since they were commanding demons it didn’t look like they were having much luck.

Of course I decided to play big damn hero as my companions and I swooped in to save their rears. Unfortunately as we attacked with various attacks that would level buildings we found them doing no good. The kids told me that he was immortal and the guy himself was laughing saying he was invincible and that we were all going to die.

So Akitsu summoned a small mountain of Ice above him and we ran. We knew the ice wouldn’t hurt him but were pretty sure that he was going to be stuck under there digging himself out for a while.

They asked me about Baldr, so I told them the Norse myth. They seemed relieved that there was something that could kill Baldr. Unfortunately it was the middle of summer so mistletoe was going to be a bit tough to find.

I noticed talking with them that one of them was probably the main character as his potential was main character or main villain level with winging ceremony from Sekirei.

So we looked around to find some mistletoe. After a bit of help from definitely not Loki we managed to find it.
As we were looking we came across some demons attacking a red haired singer named Haru, she didn’t seem too concerned even when she found out the keyboard she was using to cast magic was out of juice.

The demons were saying stuff about an primal common tongue… I may have made a mistake in that fight I had heard some of Haru’s music as we approached and it matched a song that had been stuck in my head ever since I arrived. Oddly with this situation something clicked and I understood it. Used a version of the song to begin dispelling the demons. The demons were amazed to see someone else wielding the primal common tongue, as was Haru and pretty much everyone else who wasn’t my companion (they are used to me pulling weird abilities out of my rear at random by now.)

I didn’t get all the demons but I managed to save Haru and let everyone else clear the remaining demons. I sense the song was a bit too dangerous to use for very long.

Haru ran to me asking how I did it, where I heard that song and how I sent the demons away with it. She was not very satisfied with “I don’t know.” However I convinced her I had very sharp hearing and heard and understood her song before and figured out how to tweak it just a bit to send demons back.

We continued to talk and I got her to tell me a bit about Aya, how she had gotten the song and keyboard from her and how she had disappeared. She thought something bad had happened to her and I promised to try and find out what happened to her. My plate was a little full but I could see the pain in Haru’s eyes. She hid it well but this was being eaten alive by it.

It was not long after, Baldr showed up right as scheduled, This time however he wasn’t mocking us he went right after Akitsu as did his hoards. He apparently held a grudge and by going after one of my wives he really pissed me off.

Apparently it pissed Arcueid and Tamamo off too as he was suddenly held fast by roots, branches and vines many times stronger that steel and his army began to wither and die from heavy curses. Arcuied and I finished off his army and Kazuya finished off Baldr. I used my power over wood as daughter of Inari to shape it in to a spear for him. I felt it was appropriate. Baldr’s power flowed in to Kazuya and so we found ourselves in the battle for the throne of Bel.

After that I offered to let the kids stay at my place and warned Snowflame not to share the glory of his goddess with them…
The next day we had to save Haru again this time she was trying to get herself killed by the SDF. Kazuya and I managed to talk her down. We convinced her that the demons were not her fault.

We also talked to the guy she was living with Gin who was also looking for info on Aya. We asked if we could help and he agreed. As a Guardian of humanity from SMT I had a connection with every human… to an extent. I could sense every human on the planet so I got a sinking feeling when I checked for Aya and found nothing.

As much as that sucked, I needed proof at least before I told them. I thought that maybe if I found the body I could find out some other information as well.

We went places, saved a few people and uncovered some connection between the shoumonkai; some religious group and Aya. While poking around a bit we found out they weren’t worshiping god but the demon Belberith. We also found out their maiden Amane was inhabited by both the angel Remeil and the demon Jezabel.

The more I poked in to this the more I started to run in to cults of demon worshipers, shoumonkai and demons out to capture me because of the PCT. They were more a nuisance at this point but I realized Soon it wouldn’t just be humans or minor demons. The Bel would come and put anyone around me in danger. Apparently Belail was going to be arriving in a day, and everyone in the Yamanote circle had 2 days left to live.

I finally got some answers out of one of the head guys at the Shoumonkai, apparently Aya had been working with Noaya on the demon summoning program… at some point one of her songs pulled her in to the underworld. Hopefully she was still alive down there.

So I summoned Bob again. As it turns out he wasn’t very bright but the little bastard was clever. His contract didn’t include spilling his guts about facts about the underworld so I had to pay extra and he wound up a very rich little kobold. I even had to awaken his aura. However the information we got was invaluable. Apparently non-demons couldn’t survive down there. I also got a general description of the layout and maybe some idea of who was keeping her. The hope she was alive was very slim, but even if it was just her soul I couldn’t leave it down there.

We analyzed Bob to find out how his body was different and I bought a few more demons on auction to analyze; nothing intrusive. The demons gave me some odd looks when I put them in machines to analyze their bodies and aura’s but it yielded results.
I had a few demon alt forms, they weren’t exactly like this universe’s demons but I could create something that would let me survive and pass myself off as one.

My wives thought this was foolish they believed we could defeat the Bels with the power we had and make the kid with us the new King of Bel. Admittedly It probably would have been easier. It was illogical to risk everything by going straight in to the arms of the enemy, especially when they were hunting me.

However despite the number of intelligence and common sense perks I stack sometimes my heart just manages to overrule them. It was the same heart that has convinced me to help each of them when it would have been easier or safer just to abandon them.

They finally reluctantly agreed when I offered to take along Dove and Sans. Grown from my power in the world of Darkstalkers my sister Dove’s true form was close enough to be modified to survive and Sans had a D&D lich form which was undead so he would be fine. Yukari probably would have survived as well but she had no interest in going and instead took a nap. We had learned long ago not to interrupt Yukari’s  naps.

Using an unholy union of magic and science partially gain from analyzing Comp summons we opened a portal to the underworld… where we landed was a lavish throne room. Maybe the most elaborate I had seen and sitting before us was on a golden throne was maybe one of the most beautiful beings I had ever seen… yep I had landed right in Lucifer’s throne room.
Fuck.

I was surprised when he welcomed me stating that Nyarlathotep had mentioned I might be dropping by. After telling me to stop looking so worried he said he had no interest in the king of Bel he sensed a potential for amusement from me. He liked how we had overcome Baldr with a mountain of Ice. He told me that Aya was still alive sort of… and in the care of Belberith. He waved his hand and called up a 3D image of a map with a big glowing red dot. He told me that’s where Aya was, he also mentioned he warned Belberith that I was coming and I should probably start running because I had only about a minute before his minions would arrive. As we took off he advised not using any holy abilities in hell as it would draw everyone’s attention.

So there I was running, ducking and hiding in hell, unable to use some of my best abilities. It took a combination of trickery, strength of arms, healing items, Jumper BS and Luck but we eventually made it in to Belberith’s palace and found Aya… Who was now a vampire.
Aya was a sad and lonely creature in a literal cage of gold. When we approached her she warned us to stay back that she couldn’t control her blood lust. I tossed her a concoction I had made to help Vampires to ease the pains of the hunger. She took it and seemed a bit more at ease… we had managed to just crack the magic circles around the cage when Belberith and a half dozen Demons came upon us. among them I am guessing the giant annoying fly demon was also a Bel.

I wasn’t sure if I could survive the battle but I was pretty sure that my companions wouldn’t… so I cast a spell on  us to banish us back to our home plane and hoped It would work. Surprisingly enough it did… Including Aya… I had a feeling if I hadn’t been stacking luck perks things might have ended differently.

Making it home I was swarmed by my wives… in a related note I am spending the rest of this jump on the couch for trying doing something so stupid… Ah couch of shame; my old friend. (;_;)

Now with Aya I kept her on the drug to keep her hunger under control and kept her out of the sun light. Thanks to my medical tech I was able to give her blood to maintain her body. We were building her a whole new body but it would take a while even with lord of light and Eclipse phase tech. I took the liberty of upgrading it a bit… I am a bit of a perfectionist with stuff I make.

Later we found Naoya. He was kind of a jerk. He wouldn’t tell us anything unless we defeated some demons he summoned then proceeded to give us parts of information.  He told us god is a dick and that the server was beyond our reach. He also mentioned wanting Kazuya to claim the throne of Bel and kill god. I informed him killing god wouldn’t do much as god was an avatar of the great will and he would just be revived. That troubled Naoya.

After the sun started to set we took Aya back to Haru and Gin, she was a little leery fearing she might accidently hurt someone but boy where they happy to be reunited. Their tearful reunion filled my heart with joy and reminded me just a bit of why I keep going. With all 3 of us together we started to work on finishing that song that she started. I used a Dresden files magical circle to contain the magic so we wouldn’t have any uninvited guests.

That night Yuzu approached me, she may not have been the brightest of my new human friends but she was unfortunately smart enough to figure out if I could get to hell; I might be able to get her and her friends out. I told her honestly I probably could. She begged me to and I agreed to help HER escape. She demanded to know why I wouldn’t help her friends and I told her they weren’t asking, also if they left it would likely mean everyone else here would die. Kazuya was necessary to stop the demon invasion and Atsuro was our best hope of getting in to Naoya’s server once we found it.

She looked torn and depressed for a moment and relented saying she wanted all of them to escape together and she wouldn’t abandon them. I was proud of her. I told her that I would see her and her friend though this and not to worry.

Anyways the next day Belial appeared just as was foretold. Maybe it shouldn’t have been surprising that he had captured Haru. Apparently she had gone out to give Aya and Gin some time alone and gotten captured. It seemed we were saving her so often, why not one more time.
Belial the Bel of fire, it turns out he was very weak to Ice… he did not like Akitsu at all, He got frozen solid. Then I shattered him with a sonic scream and Kazuya absorbed his power.

I was kind of relieved that he went that easily, I could sense he would have put up a hell of a fight but Akitsu was his perfect counter with so many stacked Ice abilities.

We returned to my Mansion for the night and to work on the song a bit more… we were close to finishing it when we were visited by quite a group of people. Miss Mari wanted to join up with us. Naoya and Loki were still trying to talk Kazuya in to becoming King of Bel and waging war on God. Apparently Naoya was ok with the thought of repeatedly killing god until people lost faith in him and he vanished. Amane visited us seeking for Kazuya to become the messiah.

Poor Kazuya’s head was spinning by the time everyone got done. He actually came to me for advice. How desperate must he have been? However I did my best to give him my best cool big sis act and told him my advice wasn’t worth very much but I would do my best to help him. I laid out the pros and cons of the options I saw available. Pointed out how both Remeil and Naoya glossed over the people who would be hurt do to the fallout of their plans. In the end I think we both decided it was humanity as a whole and not him that should be deciding humanities future. So we focused on getting rid of the demons. Gin had mentioned something about that.

We met with Remeil possessing Amane in the morning and told her our plans we were going to find the server, input the song and lock the demons out of the world. He was slightly disappointed but agreed. He said that the Server was in the demon world and that to get it we would need Kazuya to become the king of bel to summon Babel the last bel which dwelled within the server.

So after a short trip to Amane’s soul (after Archer was warned not to use unlimited blade works… since overwriting one soul with another is a really bad thing) we beat Jezebel. Amane then told us we had to beat the other 3 guardians of Tokyo to merge the demon world with Tokyo so that we could reach the server. I suggested I just use the spell I had previously but somehow Rumeil knew of that and suggested against it stating they were now prepared for such an invasion… oops.

So we went to the shrines. We were supposed to fight them but I tried to talk to them. Sadly they already knew what was going on and what was coming. They understood what had to be done. I took no pleasure in fighting them. The second shrine the doubled up on us but we managed to beat them.

Then… a hole opened in the sky… we had to go to the place we could summon the server.  On our way there we met some woman from some branch of the Japanese military that joined us. Apparently her boss had managed to buy us some more time.

We met the giant annoying fly demon there… ughh…  I don’t care what he called himself his name was Beelzebub. Anyways he kept trying to implant his “children” in to our flesh and let them hatch eating us alive. I am not saying I threw up in that battle… well ok I did but I wasn’t the only one. Anyways he died horribly

After that we had a huge climb up one of the tallest buildings in Tokyo on a sweltering hot day without any elevators. I didn’t use jumper BS this time because I was trying to concerve my strength… I did had out a few stamina renewing potions after Snowflame started offering the blessings of his goddess to the kids to help them make it.

Eventually we made it to the top and Amane’s father the head of the shomonkai was there. He expressed his disappointment at his daughter, she rejected his teachings and he killed himself to summon Bebelith the raging god. Who was just as ugly as the last time I saw him. Apparently the fat bastard remembered me from my earlier visit because he kept blasting me throughout our fight. I was his favorite target. Good thing for my spider sense and enhanced dodging abilities. He could hit anywhere; except where I was standing
We eventually took down the Multi-headed Mojo wana-be. I have to admit this was more Kazuya than me… He had gotten rather badass in our travels.

Amane… poor girl was upset about her father surprisingly it was Haru who showed up and snapped her out of it. I guess it shows how much Haru had grown too. She and Aya had finished the song but Aya couldn’t risk going out in sunlight. Her body might have been ok but it would likely have caused the stuff keeping her sane to wear off faster.

We all gave our words of encouragement to Kazuya. I actually gave him a Norito from Sekirei to increase his power before he summoned bel. As it is done with a kiss Yuzu was quite flabbergasted.

So we had to do a escort mission with Haru. It was tough keeping the demons off her but we managed and Atsuro and her were able to upload the song. The demons disappeared, including the ones in our comps… going to kind of miss Bob. However as we thought things had ended the tower that was there grew the face of an old man and so our battle continued. We fought it and wounded it enough that it’s form changed to some weird tower thing that split open in to a gate covered with eyes. We beat on it more despite it changing what it was strong and weak against a few times and then submitted to Kazuya with him telling it to go back to the demon world.

That was pretty much the jump. I managed to give Aya a new improved human body.  And not long after my time in the world was up. It had been a hell of a week.
