  1. Dear fellow fansubbers,
  2.
  3. I come with a message not entirely desirable. The school I attend has required me to be rather busy with scholastic responsibilities this week, the first week of May, 2010 A.D. On Wednesday, I have a midterm project due for my classical Japanese class, and on Friday, I have a midterm in math. I expect the midterm project to take me a rather long time to complete, so I need as much time as I can get in order to promptly complete it. I also expect that I will be spending a large amount of time on preparing for the math exam as well. Considering an average episode of an anime series takes me two to three hours to translate and I am working on three series that air before Wednesday, it sums up to be six to nine hours of time spent on translating. Going further into the week, I have two more series before Friday, so that’s another four to six hours less time to do other things. Under assumption that my midterm project will take me an indefinite amount of time, six to nine hours become rather precious. My lack of proficiency in math also requires me to study a fair amount of time to be fully prepared for the midterm. I think you’ve caught on by now that this ultimately leads to my inability to translate or engage in other fansubbing activities this week.

  5. I understand that this message is abrupt and the decision I have made may seem rather rash, but please understand that I thoroughly thought about this matter before making this difficult decision. Sacrifices are necessary in order to achieve a certain goal, and already, I sacrifice my sleep to bring translations to the group I work with. It is unfortunate that simply cutting back on sleep isn’t enough this week and that I must resort to such an undesired measure. I apologize for my lack of proficiency in translating, classical Japanese, and mathematics, which ultimately brought upon this reality. I do feel guilty that I must abandon one responsibility in lieu of another, and I am sorry that the responsibility I have in fansubbing was the one to be abandoned. Please know that this was the last thing I wanted to do, and if I could have chosen a different option, I would have. To those who have read this far, thank you for your understanding, and forgive me if I have made you cringe at every grammatical error I have made.

  7. Here’s a message to the individual groups:
  8. Rumbel and others:
  9. I am sorry that this message is especially abrupt to you folks as Senkou no Night Raid airs in a matter of minutes. I know you have all been preparing yourselves to do a quick job this week, so I apologize for raining on your parade. I don’t think I can get to translating the show until the weekends.
  10.
  11. Coalguys:
  12. Jaka, if you still plan to fansub this week, I am sorry that I am leaving you alone to do any fansub work at all along with all your schoolwork. I am your bro as you are mine, and as a bro, please understand the situation I face this week and let me indulge myself in my studies rather than convince me to translate over my scholastic responsibilities. To make it up to you I will translate the second cour of K-ON!!
  13.
  14. Frostii & Saizen:
  15. I know that we have been aiming for fairly speedy releases with RAINBOW and that you have all been enthusiastic about the project, so I am sorry that I will not be able to deliver this week.
  16.
  17. Yuurisan:
  18. My lack of seriousness in fansubbing Ikkitousen has led to some delays, and I apologize that I must prolong the delay. Once this dreadful week is over, I will be putting in my best effort in getting back up to speed, so please bear with me.
