  1. [02:15] Chad Padwick whispers: Not an issue Eryn. Now come on. You need practice. You sit on the bench when you could be getting stronger at your own fighting.
  2. [02:15] Eryn Evanstere whispers: Fair point.
  3. [02:17] The moment they reach he gives her a warm smile and a nod. "Good now don'r expect me to hold back either. I'm going to fight you all out. And will do this more often if you want to fight and win. That's why Sors has me fighting day in and day out."
  4. (Chad Padwick)
  5. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  6.
  7. [02:21] Eryn led the way to the sparring field, looking across the field at Chad. She unslung her staff, bringing it to rest comfortably in her hand. She supressed a scowl at Chad's words. Fuck, she was so tired of hearing the man talk about his apprenticeship with Lord Ultovex, it made her want to set his hair on fire sometimes.
  8.
  9. Her expression went from mostly calm to angry, and she yanked her hood up as her draconic wings burst violently from her back, spreading out to their maximum reach before folding back to the usual position they held whilst she fought. She took breaths rapidly, building up her frustration, letting the flames feed on the simmering rage just beyond her skin.
  10.
  11. Oddly, -or perhaps not considering the nature of the Sealed God- in that moment she felt closer to Belial than she ever had during a spar. Fire flickered around her hands and along the staff, and then Eryn sprung into action.
  12.
  13. Hoping to win the bout, of course, for the sake of her pride.
  14. (Eryn Evanstere)
  15. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  16.
  17. [02:29] When Eryn burst in to action it was unlike the previous times the two had sparred. Flames rushed at Chad from all sides, the young woman -who usually fought rather quietly- letting out her anger is jagged cries with each blast of flame, that lanced forwards at Chad. To say the fight was restrained was correct only in the most borderline of terms -if Eryn had been fighting even a little more violently it would have been quite dangerous for Chad to experience.
  18.
  19. Her cosmic magic was no weakness, either. Fields of biting energy struck at the younger man repetitively, and although he did fight well, she fought better, a geyser of flame so hot that for a moment blue was visible in amongst the orange and red lancing towards him, the Drakanite following through it with a running headbutt that knocked the Neries down.
  20.
  21. She moved back, expression twisted into a snarl as she waited for Chad to rise. Clearly she was using this fight as a way to express all that anger about the Exarch's untimely murder.
  22. (Eryn Evanstere)
  23. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  24.
  25. [02:29] Chad pretty much continues to fight but his face gets set like a serious expression that cotijnues to be impassive.
  26. (Chad Padwick)
  27. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  28.
  29. [02:35] That anger and arrogance was more bad then good and CHad maintains a deadpan during this time. He was now more focused and he wasn't letting anger take over, instead he was letting the Freedom of that whom he serves course through his body.
  30.
  31. His cosmic energy mixed with illusion had recievied one major change. One he started deploying this fight. His energy constriction. He wasn't done yet though. But he hoped having made her tumble and fail might have alerted her to focus.
  32.
  33. As for him he remains quiet. His game face was on.
  34. (Chad Padwick)
  35. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  36.
  37. [02:38] Spicegirl says, "My favorite Dawnites."
  38. [02:39] Chad doesn't respond to Spicegirl, his expression was dead set on Eryn.
  39. (Chad Padwick)
  40. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  41.
  42. [02:39] If improving Eryn's focus was Chad's goal, then in that regard he was successful. Faced with the younger man putting up rather a better fight, she overstepped several times and paid the price, ending up with her on the ground. She rose rapidly, wings stretching once more to their full length, and Eryn came on once more, even angrier than before.
  43.
  44. But in that anger was greater focus than the Neries might have expected, the young woman using her emotions to fuel her magic, but not getting lost in it. No, she knew exactly what she was trying to do, and that was take Chad down. Ideally for her, this time she'd do so, and win their spar.
  45. (Eryn Evanstere)
  46. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  47.
  48. [02:46] "Your hand."
  49.
  50. Chad sounded monotone and completely calm.
  51.
  52. "Your anger is understandable. But it only leads to error or judgement. One mistake and you lost. Is that what you want to do?"
  53.
  54. He was monotone because he was at this moment completely calm and almost without emotions.
  55.
  56. "I lost people Eryn, I know all about loss. It sparks anger and frustrations but it gets nothing done."
  57. (Chad Padwick)
  58. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  59.
  60. [02:53] A loss. Her first in a while. She slapped Chad's hand away, rising on her own. "Oh, shut up. I don't care about your 'advice'. You fight your way, I'll fight mine." She'd let it go quite a bit, but Chad's advice to her felt like him trying to flex his superiority, and frankly it was infuriating. In fact, it was probably for the best he won -chances are if she had she'd have done something that would be regretted later.
  61.
  62. Yes, she was angry. Ever time Chad tried to help he made it worse, enflaming the embers of frustration she'd cooled through distracting herself into once more a raging inferno. 'Perhaps if he stopped trying to teach me for more than five seconds he'd realise that.' An intrusive thought, but one that brought a sort of annoyed levity, and on the outside Eryn began to relax, lowering her hood -although her wings remained present.
  63.
  64. Her eyes flickered over to Spi, and she raised aneyebrow, assuming the younger girl was here for some reason other than to say 'hi'.
  65. (Eryn Evanstere)
  66. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  67.
  68. [02:58] Spicegirl pays close attention to Eryn, as she's acting very different from her usual self. Watching their battle, it doesn't take long for her to assume that some kind of loss has taken place, at least, judging from what she'd heard Chad say. She'd recently picked up a cool pair of sunglasses that hadn't left her face since, but she takes them off for this occasion.
  69.
  70. "This reminds me of rock paper scissors," she said, trying to change the subject to something lighter. "I can't seem to beat you at all, but I can beat Chad with no problem."
  71. (Spicegirl)
  72. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  73.
  74. [03:00] Chad Padwick says, "I didn't won. She just made a mistake because she is pissed off."
  75. [03:02] * You have been awarded 2 Roleplay Points! *
  76. [03:07] A glare is thrown at Chad as he once again Chads it up, the young woman feeling the little bit of calm she'd regained slipping away. She forced herself to refocus on Spi, trying to take the subject change as a lifeline. "You use different magic than Chad, and fight differently. Its not an exact science of someone being stronger and thus winning, though it does help."
  77.
  78. She twitched her wings, allowing them to fold back into her body and vanish, like they usually did outside of combat. Once again she tried to calm herself, going over a series of forging techniques in her mind to try and calm herself, before she tried to throttle Chad -and potentially fail, looking at their last spar.
  79. (Eryn Evanstere)
  80. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  81.
  82. [03:14] If only she ceased to be a stupid entitled girl maybe her life would be significantly different,
  83.
  84. He looks at Eryn and simply shakes his head as he massages his temples. He is a Neries. Think about the Dream. Happy stuff before he would use his illusions to make Eryn slam against another of his meteors. In fact she had lost not because she made a mistake. Nooo. She lost twice in a row, all because she is infuriated. Either way: not his problem.
  85.
  86. "Cinnamon want to spar for a few?"
  87.
  88. Yeah maybe that will be calming enough.
  89. (Chad Padwick)
  90. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  91.
  92. [03:22] With Chad gone, Spicegirl would test to see how receptive Eryn was to being consoled. "I uh... overheard some stuff." The Ookami started, hoping that the Drakanite would see the sincerity in her words.
  93.
  94. "I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for your loss. I know how it feels."
  95. (Spicegirl)
  96. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  97.
  98. [03:24] Zethra Nina Leverd whispers something.
  99. [03:28] With Chad's departure went a decent bit of her frustration, and the Drakanite was a bit calmer when Spi spoke to her. She could actually detect the sincerity there, which admittedly surprised her, and led the young woman to make a potentially equally surprising statement, as after a few moments of silence Eryn spoke. "Sorry about torturing you with that collar. I'd been robbed by a Thornberry a few days earlier, and between that and Lord Ultovex telling me to 'break you', I got a bit carried away." A mild understatement considering that she was talking about literal torture, but eh, it was an attempt at a sincere apology.
  100.
  101. Notably, she made no mention of Spi's condolences, moving over to lean back against the tower, her expression largely impassive.
  102. (Eryn Evanstere)
  103. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  104.
  105. [03:33] The Ookami believes that understood what Eryn was trying to say without saying. She offered an unsolicited apology for something that Spicegirl definitely still held against Eryn, but had kept a secret. "It's okay," she said, unable to help the smile that would overtake her features.
  106.
  107. "Ever since that day, I've been planning my revenge." She said with a chuckle. "I guess.. I can finally stop planning, now." she says. "I really wanted to put a collar around your neck to show you how it felt, but, I'll forgive you."
  108. (Spicegirl)
