  7. >After Toriel followed the small checkerboard piece down a long ditch, she found herself to be laying down on the ground, as if she had been knocked out during her descend.
  8. >Oddly enough, her clothes weren't stained and she felt little pain and only had a few minor cuts on her arm.
  9. >With a small grunt, she stood herself up and dusted herself off, looking around. It seemed like she was at the edge of some sort of… town? She could clearly see the black and blue colored walls that surrounded what seemed to be a town, along with a castle and…
  10. >...some sort of spiral of dark energy or liquid, piercing and waving up at the star studded sky.
  11. >'...just where exactly in Angel's name am I…?" She asked herself, walking forward carefully.
  12. >As she does, she realizes that, aside from the sound of her own steps and the crackling of the blue torches that line the wall…
  13. >...it's all eerily quiet.
  14. >What really made it odd was that there was no noise coming from the town at all. No people walking or going throughout their day. No chatting to be heard. Nothing.
  15. >...until, after taking a few more steps, she heard what she could only describe as singing.
  16. >A gentle, calm, soothing voice, singing softly into the night.
  17. >'Oh… what a wonderful singing…' Toriel thought to herself, smiling a little, 'but, where is it coming from?'
  18. >As she continued forward, she saw the entrance to the town, looking around the corner to see quite the neat and aesthetically pleasing, but empty town center. Which led directly towards the entrance to the castle square.
  19. >Toriel walks slowly into the town, the singing getting clearer and closer.
  20. >"Hello…? Is anyone around? I am in need of assistance. I cannot say that I am ah… familiar, with this place!" She called out, hoping that the person singing, or somebody else would hear her.
  21. >As soon as she spoke, the singing stopped, followed by what could only be described as a small gasp. Then, a series of rapid footsteps coming from the side of the castle square entrance.
  22. >"O… oh! Oh, hello there! Are you lost, miss?" The voice asked, appearing out of the corner and revealing himself, a short, seemingly shadowed figure with glasses and a slightly tattered robe, along with a big green wizard hat.
  23. >"Ah, yes I am my child. My name is Toriel and, I cannot really explain how I got here… and while I am sure this is a lovely place on its own, I do wish to return back home some… how, if possible."
  24. >The figure blushed a little and nodded, "I ah, see… oh, I'm sorry! I didn't get the chance to introduce myself properly, haha." The figure blushed more and walked towards Toriel.
  25. >"My name is Ralsei. I'm the prince of this kingdom. The Kingdom of Darkness. It's ah… admittedly quite barren at the moment, haha…"
  26. >"But it's nice to meet you Toriel! I assume you must be a Lightner…?" Ralsei asked.
  27. >"Oh, a prince! Pardon my manners then but… what is a 'Lightner' exactly…?"
  28. >Ralsei's eyes brightened and he smiled sheepishly, "Oh, gosh I don't know where my mind is at the moment, but to put it simply, my kind is what's known here as 'Darkners', while your kind is known as 'Lightners'. The ones we uhm… lived to serve before we were separated from them…"
  29. >Interesting." Toriel wondered for a moment, looking around for a little, "I cannot say I've ever heard of such a thing… but I am here, so I suppose there must be some lost history yet to be found… but, aside from that, would you please help me return back home, if you know how?"
  30. >"Of course, of course! I just… rambled on a bit there, sorry! But in order for you to return back home, we would need to head east, in order to use the Fountain of Darkness. Like the one behind me in my castle!"
  31. >Toriel nodded, gazing upwards at the geyser of darkness and feeling… intimidated?
  32. >Nervous?
  33. >She couldn't quite tell what the feeling was. But it wasn't a positive one…
  34. >"It does seem quite odd… have… other 'Lightners' such as myself ever been in this place before? Or would I be the first?"
  35. >Ralsei shook his head and stood beside her, gazing up at the fountain, "There have been other Lightners here… just about a day ago actually! You see, I have lived here my whole life in order to complete a certain prophecy. A prophecy told by time and space for years… that once another Dark Fountain, such as this one, would appear, so would two other heroes, which would both be Lightners… and together, we would close the Fountain, and prevent the destruction of our worlds…"
  36. >"That sounds like quite the adventure… dangerous, but interesting."
  37. >"Oh, it was! I made good friends with the other two Lightners… a monster, and a human that go by the name of Susie and Kris!"
  38. >Toriel's eyes widened at the mention of that last name.
  39. >"I… do hope they come visit soon…" Ralsei said with a sad smile and looked down.
  40. >"E… excuse me, my child but… what was the name of the human…?"
  41. >"Kris! Oh, would you happen to know him?" Ralsei asked, his eyes beaming with some excitement.
  42. >"Quite, actually… because I am his mother."
