A Day in the Miserabe Life of Jack Frost: Family Vacation

1. To Grandmother’s House We Go
A large van pulls up to a large snow covered building. After parking, the Frost family exits the vehicle wearing their usual attire, except for Jack who’s wearing a heavy winter coat and Yukiko who has traded her usual kimono for a t-shirt, ripped jeans and an old worn out leather jacket. They grab their luggage out of the van and enter the building. Inside they find a Yuki-onna wearing a dark blue and white kimono. She quickly turns and bows to them.
???: Welcome to the North Mountain Ski and Hot Springs Resort. My name is Atsuko and it is my pleasure to- *Atsuko stops bowing and gets a good look at the group* OH MY BABIES! *She rushes towards the group, bends down and hugs Hoshiko, Jack and Nevada*
Jack, Nevada, Eira and Lumi: Grandma!
Hoshiko: O bāchan!
Atsuko: Oh it’s been so long! You’ve all grown up so much! *Atsuko releases the younger Frost siblings from her hug and turns to Eira and Lumi* Come here and give me a hug! *Eira and Lumi are mercilessly hugged and released* It’s so good to see you all again. You’re all so beautiful now, I bet you girls have to beat the boys off with a stick! And Jack, you’re so handsome! My little handsome Jack. If you want, I know a few yukiwarashi in the village who’d love to get to know you~.
J: Th-that’s ok…
Y: We just got here, could you please try to wait a bit before you trying to pair my kids off with the local brats?
A: Oh, hello Yukiko.
Y: Hey…
A:…
Y: What?
A: I see you’re still wearing that ratty old thing.
Y: You got a problem with that?
A: Well I was hoping to see you in one of those lovely kimonos you wear at home. *Yukiko’s face blanks and she begins to blush slightly*
Y: H-how?
A: Your sister showed me how to use the “facebook” when she was here last time she visited. I was so happy to see that you’ve finally decided to dress like a woman, but I guess I was getting ahead of myself. *Yukiko’s face is now completely red and she can’t seem to manage to speak properly*
Eira: Speaking of Auntie Kiyoko, are they going to be coming this weekend?
A: Yes, but it sounds like they’re going to be getting here a bit late from the sounds of it. *Nevada’s face darkens at the news*
Nevada: Tsk.
A: Anyway we need to get you moved in before we do anything else. *Atsuko snaps her fingers and three kunoichi wearing blue uniforms with white trim appeared out of nowhere* You three, help them move into their rooms in the main house.
Kunoichi (x3): Understood. *The kunoichi begin to carry of everyone’s luggage*
J: Uh, Grandma?
A: Your grandfather is ice fishing at the lake. You can go after you get unpacked.
J: Thanks Grandma!

2. Frozen Over Fishing Hole
After putting away his luggage and finding his fishing rod, Jack heads towards the lake with Lumi.
J: I wonder what I’m going to catch today.
Lumi: With your luck it’ll be either nothing or a cold.
J: Don’t say that, you’ll jinx me! Anyway why are you coming anyway?
L: I’ve been wanting to go swimming in the lake for a while now.
J: Why? It’s not like you don’t go swimming at home.
L: Well, swimming in a pool’s different than swimming in an ice covered lake. Everything’s… cooler.
J: Lumi.
L: Yes?
J: Don’t quit your day job.
L: Hey! *They arrive at the snow covered beach and Lumi approaches a large hole in the ice* Well this is me. Good luck Jack!
J: Thanks *Jack waves to Lumi who waves back before jumping into the water and vanishing from view. Jack walks onto the ice and moves along until he sees a small wooden shack. He approaches the door and gives it a knock. Not long after a man who looks like he could be in his late thirties answers the door. He looks rugged, but his skin is pale as snow* Hey Grandpa!
Grandpa (aka Hiraku): Jack! I wasn’t expecting you here this early!
J: It’s mid-afternoon Grandpa. *Hiraku looks at the sky, then inspects his watch*
Hiraku: So it is. How time flies. Come on in and we can gets started.
J: Ok! *Jack follows his grandfather into the shack. They both sit down and Jack gives his grandfather his fishing rod to help him get it ready* Catch anything yet?
Hi: No, not yet. I had a bit of luck yesterday, but the fish don’t seem interested today. There, that should be good. Let’s give that a try.
J: I’m sure we’ll get something! *Jack places his lure in the water. While they don’t catch anything, the two fishermen converse with each other, covering the many subjects a young man and his grandfather often share. After a while, Jack feels a tug on his line, the telltale sign of something caught on the other end* I-I caught something!
Hi: Great! Now real her in!
J: I-I’m trying! But it’s really tough!
Hi: Oh that means it’s a big one! Let me help, we’re not letting this sucker get away! *Hiraku helps hold onto the rod while Jack continues to try to real the monster in. After a moment of struggle, the tension on the line disappears and the two of them fall to the shack’s floor* Ah shoot, it got away!
J: No it didn’t Grandpa. Look! *A seal’s tail was pocking out of the hole. Jack’s hook was stuck in one of it’s fins*
Hi: What in blazes? *Hiraku and Jack approach the tail, and carefully pull it out of the hole in the ice. When they get it out, they realize that it’s actually a set of seal skins* Well that’s odd.
J: Yeah… Actually, these look a lot like Lumi’s skins.
Hi: Wait Lumi’s here?
J: Yeah, she’s been swimming in the lake.
Hi: Uh oh. We better get going Jack. Don’t forget the skins! *Jack grabs the skins and follows his grandfather out of the shack and towards the beach. When they arrive, they find Lumi laying in the snow, naked and shivering* Lumi! Are you ok?
L: I-I-I’m so c-cold… H-help me Jack… I’m j-just so cold. Warm m-me up. P-please.
J: Wh-what?
L: W-warm me up Jack. *Lumi gets up and slowly begins to approach Jack. Jack tries to back away, but Lumi leaps at him. Luckily Hiraku manages to catch her mid-flight* NOO! Help me Jack! I’m so cold! Help me!
Hi: Hurry up and get her skins on!
J: O-ok! *While Hiraku tries to hold her still, Jack tries to get Lumi back into her skins*
L: NOOOO! *Lumi smashes her head into Hiraku’s nose, causing him to let go of her. She then turns around and pushes her grandfather into the water. Sensing an opportunity, Jack pushes his sister over and manages to get the skin around legs before Lumi begins to struggle again. Lumi manages to get Jack pinned* Warm me up Jack, please… *Lumi leans in and begins to kiss Jack, trying to explore the inside of his mouth with her tongue. While she’s distracted, Jack manages to get Lumi’s skins around her waist and zips her up. Lumi then realizes what she is currently doing, immediately stops kissing Jack and backs away from him. Her face is completely red with embarrassment* Wh-wh-wh-what’s going on?!?!?!
J: Well, we kind of caught your skins and we must have somehow ripped them off of you. Then you went a little bit nuts and threw Grandpa into the lake. And- What?
L: PERVERT!!!!!! *Lumi, having gone crazy with embarrassment, smacks Jack so hard that he follows his grandfather into the lake*
J: WHY?!?!?!

3. Relatives
Everyone is in the living room of the main house. Jack is currently being hugged by Eira while Lumi and Nevada try to dry him off with some towels. Hiraku, on the other hand, is bowing on the floor while his wife and daughter lecture him.
A: And how many times have I told you to put up the signs before you go fishing? Honestly, it would have been bad enough if one of our customers got hurt, but you caught your own granddaughter’s tail!
Hi: I’m sorry dear!
Y: And to top it off, Jack fell into the lake because of your carelessness! It’s amazing he didn’t get sick!
J: Yes… Fell…
L: S-sorry!
Hi: I-I understand! It’s all my fault! I wasn’t careful!
N: I kind of feel sorry for grandpa. It was an accident, wasn’t it?
J: Pretty much.
E: I’m actually kind of happy it happened. I don’t get to take care of my darwing brobro like this every day after all! *Eira squeezes Jack a little tighter*
J: Not that you don’t try.
E: Taking care of Jack every day… Ahh~ Being able to hold him close to me so he never has to feel the cold again, even as he begins to see me as a woman. Eventually he’d ask me to keep him warm at night, but when I’d join him under the covers, instead of sleeping, he’d slowly and tenderly move his hand into my pant-
J: A LITTLE HELP PLEASE! *Lumi and Nevada drop their towels and begin to try to wrench Jack away from Eira*
E: No! He’s still cold! I can feel it! Just another five minutes! Please! *Lumi and Nevada somehow manage to pull Eira’s arms away from Jack just enough for him to slip away* Oh poo…
J: Thanks.
L: Don’t mention it.
N: You owe me. *Hoshiko enters the room carrying a little tub full of bath supplies* What’s up Hoshiko?
H: Last time onii-chan got cold like this he took a bath with Hoshiko! Hoshiko is sure that if she took a bath with onii-chan again he’d feel better!
J: That sounds like a good idea Hoshiko. *He walks up to Hoshiko and pats her head* I’ll go grab my stuff and we can head over there together.
H: Hehehe!
N: That sounds like fun! I think I’ll join you two.
J: No you won’t.
N: But onii-chan, if having a bath with one little sister makes you feel better then two should be even better~.
J: I highly doubt that…
H: No, Nevada onee-chan is right onii-chan! We have to take a bath together!
J: But!
H: No buts onii-chan!
N: That’s right onii-chan~. No buts!
J: … Fine… *After Jack and Nevada get their stuff, they head down the hallway that connects the main house to the lodge. When they reach the lodge’s entrance, they find a yuki-onna and two yukiwarashi. One of the yuki-warashi is the same age as Jack while the other is slightly younger than Hoshiko. When she notices him, the older yukiwarashi runs up to Jack and gives him a hug*
Mariko: Jack! It’s been so long!
N: !... You…
J: M-mariko? I guess it has been a while, hasn’t it?
H: Riko-chan’s here too! Hi Riko-chan!
Kiyoko: Haha It’s good to see you all again? How are my favorite nieces and nephew doing?
N: I’ve been better…
J: We’re doing pretty well. Did Uncle Rick come this time?
K: No, he’s been pretty busy with his job lately, so he couldn’t come. Hmm? Everything ok Riko?
Riko:… Riko wants to hug Janiki too…
K: Is that ok Jack? *Jack shrugs and Riko runs up to him and hugs him as well*
H: No fair Riko-chan! Hoshiko wants to hug onii-chan as well! *Hoshiko hugs Jack from behind*
N:…
M: What’s wrong, Nevada-chan? Don’t you want to join in?
N: No… I’m leaving?
J: Weren’t you going to join us in the bath?
N: I-I remembered I needed to do something.
K: Oh dear, she looks upset about something.
J: Yeah, that was really weird.
K: So is everyone else in the main house?
J: Yeah. Grandpa’s getting chewed out right now though.
K: Really? What did he do this time? Oh don’t tell me! It’s always more fun to try figuring it out on your own! *Kiyoko snaps her fingers and the same three kunoichi from before appear out of nowhere* Please bring these to our rooms.
Kunoichi(x3): Understood *The kunoichi carries the luggage away and Kiyoko follows them to the main house*
J: … Could you let me go now?
M: No~.
H: Five more minutes onii-chan!
R: … Janiki…

4. Like a Slumber Party
Everyone is gathered in the dining room, enjoying supper. Mariko and Nevada are sitting on either side of Jack.
M: Jack. *Jack looks towards Mariko and finds her holding out some fish with her chopsticks* Say “Ahhhh”.
J: I can feed myself Mariko…
M: Eira needs help.
J: Eira’s hand are too big to hold the chopsticks properly. *They both look across the table to see Yukiko feeding Eira. However Yukiko drops the fish and it lands in Eira’s cleavage*
E: Eeep!
Y: Oh sorry Eira! I’ll get that for you.
E: Th-thanks mom…
M: Say “Ahhh”.
J: I told you I’m n-*Jack is interrupted by Nevada shoving some fish into his mouth*
M: Grr. That’s not fair Nevada-chan! *Nevada smirks before resuming her meal*
A: Ohoho Don’t we have the cutest grandchildren Hiraku?
Hi: I couldn’t agree more my sweat.
M: Oh O bāchan!
A: Yes?
M: Can we have a slumber party?
A: A slumber party?
M: Yes! It’s been so long since we all saw each other, I thought it would be fun if we could spend the night together! Can we?
N: …What are you getting at?
A: Hmm. Well, if it’s okay with everyone I don’t see why you couldn’t.
H: Yes! Hoshiko wants a slumber party!
R:…Yes…
E: That sounds like it could be fun. I’m in!
L: If everyone else is going to do this, then I might as well too.
N: I don’t know…
J: I’d rather not…
M: !! Jack you have to!
R: …Riko wants to sleep with…Janiki…
H: Please onii-chan!
J: Guh… Ok, I’ll do it too…
N: I guess I have no choice as well…
A: Alright, I’ll get some of our staff get one of our bigger rooms ready for you all.
M: Thank you O bāchan! *After supper, a kunoichi shows the slumber party participants to the large zipangese suite room that was prepared for them. After playing around for a while and getting changed into their sleepwear, everyone’s attention turns to the large number of futons laid out on the floor* Alright, it’s time to go over sleeping arrangements. Since this was my idea, I’ll be sleeping beside Jack.
N: If that’s the case, I’ll be sleeping beside Jack too.
M: My, aren’t we being forward today. What right do you have to sleep next to Jack?
N: I’m his sister. Besides aren’t you getting a little ahead of yourself? *Mariko glares at Nevada, who returns the favor*
E: Now now you two. If you’re going to be like this then I might as well sleep next to Jack.
M+N: What?!?
E: Eep! W-well… It’s just that Jack’s still recovering from his fall in the lake. If we sleep next to each other, I can help keep him warm.
L: If that’s the case, I could sleep next to Jack. He’d be just as warm in my skins as he’d be with you clinging to him
E: A-are y-you saying my h-hugs are n-no g-good?
L: No… I didn’t mean…
H: Hoshiko wants to sleep beside onii-chan too!
R: Riko… wants to sleep with… Janiki too…
J: Don’t I get a say in any of this?
M: I guess that couldn’t hurt.
N: He’s definitely going to pick me!
M: Doubtful.
N: WHAT DID YOU SAY?!
M: Nothing.
J:… Alright, since Hoshiko and Riko are the youngest they can sleep next to me.
M+N: WHAT?!?!
H: Thank you onii-chan!
R: Riko is… so happy…
J: Geez, calm down a little.
M: Jack’s right. Besides, it’s getting late. Some of us, Nevada-chan, need all the beauty sleep they can get!
N: Watch yourself before you wreck yourself, Ice Queen. *With the sleeping arrangements dealt with, the group found their assigned area and quickly went to sleep. The next day Jack realized he couldn’t move. Opening his eyes he found Hoshiko and Riko cuddling up to either side of him using Eira’s arms as pillows. Eira had somehow managed to get underneath him and was hugging him from behind, while Lumi wound up on top of him and was currently drooling on him. Finally, Mariko had entwined herself around Jack’s leg and the numbness in his other leg implied that Nevada did the same.*
J: Why does it always end up like this…

5. Skiing
After breakfast, everyone went skiing. While going down the mountain, Mariko spots Jack waiting alone near some trees. Sensing an opportunity, she approaches him.
M: Hey Jack!
J: Oh hey Mariko! How’s it going?
M: Pretty good. The powder’s great today!
J: Sure is.
M:… So Jack… What’re you doing?
J: Waiting for Eira.
M: Oh?
J: Yeah. She wanted to try using a snowboard and I figured I’d stay with her since she has “balance issues”.
M: Balance issues? *Jack cups the air in front of his chest and pretends to squeeze something*
J: Yes. “Balance issues”.
M:… (Lucky bitch!!!)
J: She should have been here by now. Did I get down here too fast?
M: I wouldn’t worry about it. Say Jack?
J: Yes?
M: We’ve known each other for a while right?
J: Well yeah. We are cousins after all.
M: Right! And well… Wh-what do you think of me?
J: That’s a weird question. Well… You can be pretty weird, but you’re pretty nice too. You’re pretty good looking too I guess…
M: You guess?
J: You are my cousin.
M: Oh… *Mariko keeps smiling, but can’t help but feel a little disappointed*
J: Oh! Almost forgot! You’re not to be trusted with my underwear.
M: I ONLY DID THAT ONCE! CAN’T YOU JUST LET IT GO!!
J: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on… EIRA!!!
M: Shame on Eira? That doesn’t make any sense. *Jack turns Mariko’s head to look uphill, where she sees Eira barreling down the mountain, clearly out of control*
E: JAAAAAAACK!!! HELP MEEEEEEE!!!! *Eira continues down the hill, on a collision course with Mariko and Jack. Before she crashes into them however, Nevada comes out from behind the trees and pushes Jack out of the way, taking his place in the spectacular crash when Eira collides with her and Mariko*
J: Oww. Geez… Wait… *Jack spots Eira lying face down in the snow* Eira are you ok?!? *Jack runs up to Eira as quick as he can*
E: Owowowow I-I think so?
J: Crap. I can’t see Nevada or Mariko. Did you see where they went?
E: I-I don’t know! H-help me up! *Jack helps Eira get up, only to find Nevada and Mariko where trapped underneath her. They are both blushing heavily with a stunned look on their faces.* Oh dear! I’m sorry! Are you two ok?
J: C’mon! Speak up!
N:… I knew they were big, but I didn’t think…
M:… They’re so soft and warm…
J: What?
E: Oh no! They’re delirious! Help me get them to the lodge!
J: Ok!
N:… I’ve lost all confidence as a woman…
M: Paruparuparuparuparuparuparuparu

6. Toboggan
After helping Eira bring Nevada and Mariko to the ski lodge’s infirmary, Riko and Hoshiko convinced Jack to go sledding with them. Jack is pulling the sled up the hill while the two yukiwarashi follow behind.
H: Are we almost there onii-chan?
J: *Huff* Just about. *puff*
R: …
J: You ok back there Riko? *huff puff* You’ve been quiet for a while now.
R:… Yes Janiki…
J: Ok… *huff puff*
H: We’re here! We’re at the top of the bunny hill!
J: Yay… Just *huff puff* let me catch my breath and I’ll *huff puff* get us set up…
R:… *After a moment, Jack points the sled downhill. While Jack keeps the sled from moving, Hoshiko climbs onto the front and grabs the ropes*
H: Hoshiko’s all ready to go!
J: Great. You can get on Riko.
R:…
J: Riko?
H: Are you ok Riko-chan?
R: … I-it’s s-so high…
H:? Are you scared Riko-chan? *Riko doesn’t say anything, but slowly nods her head*
J: That’s no good. Do you want me to walk down with you? *Riko slowly shakes her head* Oh? Why?
R:… If I go… With Janiki… Hoshiko-nee will be… Lonely…
H: Riko-chan…
J: Hmm… Oh! I have an idea. *Jack sits down on the sled farther down from Hoshiko. He keeps his legs on either side of the sled to keep it from sliding away* Ok Riko, you come and sit here. *Riko nods before doing what Jack asked. After she sits down, Jack wraps his arms around her* Now close your eyes and we’ll be at the bottom before you know it. *After Riko closes her eyes, Jack wraps his legs around Hoshiko, giving her an impromptu seat belt. As soon as he does so, the sled begins to slide down the hill and quickly picks up speed*
R: Janiki? Janiki! We’re going to fast! WE’RE GOING TOO FAST JANIKI!
J: Don’t worry Riko, I’m right here. You’re being really brave and I’m right here for you. *Jack squeezes Riko a little tighter*
R: WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!
H: WEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! *In almost no time at all, they reach the bottom of the hill and slow to a stop*
R: IT WAS SO SCARY! WAAAAHHH!!!
J: There there. It’s all over now. You were really brave.
R: *sniff* R-really?
H: Yes you were Riko-chan. Hoshiko’s very proud of you!
J: I’m proud of you too. *They all get up off of the sled and Hoshiko hugs her younger cousin*
R:… Hoshiko-nee?
H: It’s no fair that onii-chan was able to hug Riko-chan all the way down the hill. Hoshiko wants a hug too!
J: Oho? Hoshiko’s all jealous huh? What would she do if I did this? *Jack hugs both of the yukiwarashi*
H: Ah No fair onii-chan! You already had your turn!
J: Haha! So what do you girls say? Want to do something else, like build a snowman or something?
H: Hoshiko wants to build a snowman!
J: What about you Riko? *Riko slowly nods her head* Alright, let’s go!
H: After we’re done hugging Riko-chan!
J: Oh, ok!
R:… Hoshiko-nee… Janiki… Arigatō…

7. Duel of Fates
After recovering from their ordeal on the mountain, Nevada and Mariko go looking for Jack.
M: Where could he be?
N: Why do you have to keep asking that? It’s annoying.
M: You’re negative attitude isn’t so endearing either.
N: Stuff it.
M: You stuff it!
N: Put a lot of thought into that one, did you?
M: Grrr. Why do you have to be so insufferable?
N: Why do you have to be so annoying?
M: Why do you have to keep getting in my way?
N: You know why. *Mariko stops walking. Nevada continues for a bit before realizing that Mariko wasn’t beside her and turns to face her* What are you doing?
M: I see… A word of advice Nevada-chan, if you want to win his heart you should try to be more feminine! *Mariko forms a couple snowballs in her hands and throws them at Nevada. Both snowballs stick to Nevada’s chest*
N: You! *Nevada forms a large snowball and throws it at Mariko. It sticks to her crotch* I’m sorry, but Jack isn’t interested in little boys!
M: H-how dare you! You’ll pay for this!
N: Bring it! *Using their powers, Mariko and Nevada begin a snowball fight of epic proportions. Neither is able to gain the upper hand, until they’re both buried by giant snowballs* Wh-what the hell?
M: Did you do this?!?!
E: S-sorry! You’re not hurt are you?
J: Don’t apologize Eira. They needed to cool off so we cooled them off!
L: That we did! Nothing can match the power of giant snowballs!
H: Booo Hoshiko wanted to make a snowman…
R:… Riko wanted… to make one… too…
M: Et tu Riko?
R:… Sorry Mariko-nee…
J: Not you too Riko…
N: Hey Mariko?
M: Yes Nevada-chan?
N: Temporary truce?
M: Temporary truce. *Together Mariko and Nevada form a giant pile of snow and launch it at the others*
J: Pwahh! This means war! Attack! *And thus started another epic 2 vs 5 snowball fight, which continued until supper. The next day, everyone went home with new memories of fun times together*
