- Humans: Relatively self explanatory. Humans are found across Midgard, or in this case, Earth. The Norse Gods aren't the only deities to have influence over the world in some way; in fact, there are still other religions found throughout the world, including the recent rise in Christianity. Pick a sub-race.
- --- The Varangians: Called 'Vikings' by the Christians, the Varangians are a race of hardy humans adapted to living in harsh, cold conditions. Varangians over time have learned to become exceptionally skilled at survival.
- Varangians gain a +2 bonus to survival checks, such as tracking and resisting natural cold.
- --- The Europeans: The Europeans have always had a bit more fortune when it comes to their way of life, preferring to live within their stone keeps and fortresses. Europeans are more adept at speech however, and make great diplomats.
- Europeans begin with a II to speech.
- Humans otherwise begin with a skill point to spend anywhere they like. (Thus beginning with 10 points, instead of 9.)
- Dwarf: Dwarves are a race of humanoids that evolved from the maggots living within the flesh of Ymir. Ymir is commonly seen as the first being to have lived among the universe; when Odin and his brothers slew Ymir, they used his remains to build Midgard.
- Maggots lived in these flesh, and burrowed their way out. In time, these giant maggots grew into Dwarves, a race of stout men and women that are generally excellent craftsmen.
- Dwarves are innately skilled at crafting. (Crafting II)
- Dokkalfar: "Dark Elves', are a race of creatures that prefer to dwell beneath the ground. For the most part, Dokkalfar are swarthy folk that have adapted to live in the harsh conditions underground. They're usually muscular, and have pitch black skin tones.
- Dokkalfar are skilled at fighting. (Combat I, Fortitude I)
- Ljosalfar: 'Light Elves'; Ljosalfar are a race of Elves that are found outside of Midgard, and are essentially the only race playable outside of midgard. They normally live in Alfheim. Light Elves are incredibly fair skinned and pretty by nature, having a natural grace to them. They're incredibly beautiful, alluring to anyone that stares upon them for too long.
- Ljosalfar begin with no extra skills. Instead they gain a bonus that grants them a boost to charisma and general charms.
