  7. ----
  8.
  9.
  10. Hey everyone! Hope you had a good holiday period - I've been spending my time working on improving our disassembly calculators on [the wiki](https://rs.wiki).
  11.
  12. There's some extra things you can do to help finish this up, which I've put in [a child comment]().
  13.
  14. Without further ado, lets get into it!
  15.
  16. Disassembly calculators for each item
  17. ----
  18.
  19. The biggest change is the addition of a disassembly calculator right into the disassembly infobox on each item page. This uses the chances from the disassembly research project, that have been part of the infobox for a while, and calculates the overall per-item chance of each material. If it can find an item price on the page, it also adds that in.
  20.
  21. It has all the same selectors as the disassembly calculators - junk chance and machine - as well as a custom number selector so you can specify how many you want to disassemble, and augmented items also have a selector for item level to specify how much training you want to put in to the item (since item levels reduce junk and provide multipliers).
  22.
  23. This is something I've been wanting to add for some time, I hope you find it useful.
  24.
  25. Prices for more items
  26. ----
  27.
  28. I've gone through a large number of untradeable items adding price overrides to give relevant comparisons in calculators. This includes things like [overloads](https://rs.wiki/overload), [porters](https://rs.wiki/sign_of_the_porter_VI), [vine whip](https://rs.wiki/abyssal_vine_whip), [Death Lotus tabi](https://rs.wiki/superior_Death_Lotus_tabi), and so many more. This also includes the majority of augmented items with a well-defined price - like [cywir wand](https://rs.wiki/augmented_wand_of_the_Cywir_elders), [malevolent body](https://rs.wiki/augmented_malevolent_cuirass), [zamorak godsword](https://rs.wiki/augmented_Zamorak_godsword).
  29.
  30. These prices should appear in both the item page calculator, and in the big grouped disassembly calculators like [Ilujankan](https://rs.wiki/Calculator:Disassembly_by_material/Ilujankan).
  31.
  32. Speaking of those calculators...
  33.
  34. Invention master cape
  35. ----
  36.
  37. I was browsing one day a few weeks back and [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/a1nrmn/some_data_on_the_invention_master_cape_perk/) from /u/wastescape caught me - the data looked good but could do with more - so a few friends and I got some data for a variety of things and confirmed how it works. So I went ahead and added the master cape to the disassembly calculators, e.g. [Precious](https://rs.wiki/Calculator:Disassembly_by_material/Precious); this carried forward into the item calculators.
  38.
  39. I also added an in-depth explanation of the cape's effect, as I understand it, to [the page](https://rs.wiki/Invention_master_cape).
  40.
  41.
  42. Other minor changes
  43. ----
  44.
  45. Other things you may not have seen.
  46.
  47. * Since the fork (technically since February 2018 when I converted the old script to the new wiki styles but shhh we weren't public then) we've had support for machines on the disassembly calculators. Selecting a machine updates the per-hour counts and takes account the divine charge cost.
  48. * A large number of items that were missing disassembly information are no longer missing it - there's still some left that I would appreciate help with, see [this child comment]().
  49. * The calculator for [Simple parts](https://runescape.wiki/w/Calculator:Disassembly_by_material/Simple) has had a filter applied to it to only consider things with a high enough buy limit to be worthwhile, as by far this calculator had the most things and was becoming an issue. The unfiltered list was moved to [here](https://runescape.wiki/w/Calculator:Disassembly_by_material_full/Simple). This method can now be applied to other calculators as necessary.
  50. * The disassembly infobox now states the category the item is a part of.
  51. * The disassembly categories ([example](https://runescape.wiki/w/Category:Disassemble_category/arrows)) are now more informative.
  52.
  53.
  54. Thanks

  63.
  64. Hey there! This is a dump of all the things I could do with to help complete the disassembly database.
  65.
  66. Analyse
  67. ----
  68.
  69. If you have any of the following, please hit me up with a screenshot of the [Analyse](https://rs.wiki/analyse) output for it (or the "you can't disassable this item").
  70.
  71. * Elite sirenic and tectonic armour - normal, dyed, augmented, or augmented dyed, any should be fine
  72. * Superior (unaugmented) ancient warriors' equipment, in particular: statius armour & warhammer, vesta armour, morrigan armour & weapons
  73. * Second-Age items - essentially any/all of them (including augmented and the box set)
  74. * Orb of Armadyl
  75. * Cursed amascut sand
  76. * Double pirate hooks
  77. * Hazelmere's signet ring (i), ring of fortune (i), ring of death (i)
  78. * Elf thieving reset token, shock absorber
  79. * Runecrafting staff (without a talisman)
  80. * Merethiel's stave
  81. * Any of the animal pen kits from PoF (excluding the tutorial kit); I don't mind providing some adol zygomites for beans, you just need to not have built every pen already
  82. * Many the components of the food cooked for Awowogei during RfD (note that you need to have not completed the quest to be able to get these): Red banana, sliced red banana, Tchiki nut paste, raw stuffed snake, odd stuffed snake
  83. * Various other quest items that require you to not have completed the quest to get: Green banana (Do No Evil), monkey skin (Tai Bwo Wannai Trio), raw and cooked giant carp (Fishing Contest), Slender blade (Devious Minds), Skull staple (Great Brain Robbery), consecration seed (Roving Elves)
  84.
  85. Special materials
  86. ----
  87.
  88. One area we're still missing a lot of data on is special materials. There's two bits of information about special materials that we need: how many you get per disassembly, and what's the chance you get the special material. (Luckily, we're pretty sure that if you get more than 1 special, you always get it, so that's useful.)
  89.
  90. All of [these items](https://runescape.wiki/w/Category:Missing_special_material_quantity) are missing how many special materials they give - unfortunately they're some of the most expensive items in the game and the only way to get the number is to disassemble them, so I don't expect many offers. (Some items are 'missing' from here as they're actually in the above section, like undyed elite sirenic/tectonic.)
  91.
  92. All of [these items](https://runescape.wiki/w/Category:Missing_special_material_chance) are missing the chance. Going to have to disassemble, like, at least 100 to get a good number on them - the more the better. Again, most items are prohibitively expensive. Some items are also missing from here, notably [GWD2 essences](https://runescape.wiki/w/Zamorakian_essence) since they were given a dummy value.
  93.
  94. Some other items it would be good to get numbers on/notes on some things:
  95.
  96. * Korasi's sword and augmented version (Pestiferous) - I had some doubts expressed to me over the numbers we have for these, and that the augmented version's chance is different to unaugmented
  97. * Barrows items (Undead) - I think the chance of undead from unaugmented barrows items is actually 0, but we need a bunch of testing done on both augmented and unaugmented to test
  98. * Crystal equipment (armour and weapons, not tools) (Crystal, Seren, Faceted) - we used to have data on these, but then the faceted army attacked and invalidated everything
  99.
  100.
  101. Normal materials
  102. ----
  103.
  104. Other than special, we have several disassembly categories that need data in order to find the chances of each material. In general I look for at least 10,000 non-junk materials to get a workable chance, but the more data the better; however, most of the missing categories are expensive or hard to get, so I'll take basically any data on them. Here's what we're missing:
  105.
  106. * [Clockwork](https://runescape.wiki/w/Category:Disassemble_category/clockwork)
  107. * [Gizmos and relics](https://runescape.wiki/w/Category:Disassemble_category/gizmo) (I have a bunch of data on this from a friend, but it might not be enough. They're also a gigantic ballache to get data from to begin with.)
  108. * [Crystal tools](https://runescape.wiki/w/Category:Disassemble_category/crystal_tool)
  109. * [Defenders](https://runescape.wiki/w/Category:Disassemble_category/defender)
  110. * [Defender parts](https://runescape.wiki/w/Category:Disassemble_category/defender_piece)
  111. * [Spider legs parts](https://runescape.wiki/w/Category:Disassemble_category/spider_legs)
  112. * [Whips](https://runescape.wiki/w/Category:Disassemble_category/whip)
  113.
  114. However the final grouping is one that I only really need confirmation on - the four types of salvage releasing next week with the M&S rework ([bladed](https://runescape.wiki/w/Category:Disassemble_category/bladed_salvage), [blunt](https://runescape.wiki/w/Category:Disassemble_category/blunt_salvage), [plated](https://runescape.wiki/w/Category:Disassemble_category/plated_salvage), [spiky](https://runescape.wiki/w/Category:Disassemble_category/spiky_salvage) - they're all empty temporarily). I did a bunch of disassembly in the beta to get stuff, so once the rework hits I just want confirmation that its still correct.
  115.
