Jalen sat in the restaurant in Castelia City in Unova eating some of the pizza there, he's there on a trip with his school as the annual Eldigan(So named after Eldigan Kalmte, the best Unova Trainer to ever live) Bowl is going on with the 6 reps from the the most esteemed schools from each region(Barring Alola, who is the newest region which will be able to compete next time). Unova's Nimbasa Academy with Camilla Faraday and Johto's Goldenrod Seminary with Ryoma Nijimura being the Top 2 favorites to win. Jalen, hailing from Kanto, is obviously rooting for Camilla to win here, backed by the fact that one of his closest friends is Camilla's younger sister, Rhiannon Faraday.

Rhiannon of course, is mad stoked that her sister was chosen by the school to rep them as their senior in this prestigious event. the freshman(Rhiannon) spent all week on making Camilla Foam Fingers for all of the Unovians to use for supporting Camilla, it helps that Camilla's the school idol student and trainer with her ace being a Hydreigon.

Jalen finishes his meal and leave a tip for the waiter and head out towards the park for some battles. This park is extremely big and have many trainers both from Unova and other regions...Jalen's teams are well rested and can throw down with the best of them as he scour the fields for some trainers starting with his ace and starter, Incineroar, followed by his 2 psuedo-legendaries, Tyranitar and Metagross..followed by Primeape,Gyarados, and Electabuzz. That's just one of his A-Teams as he have plenty other Pokemon in his PC Account for him to use such as Samurott, Conkeldurr, Staraptor, Galvantula, Scizor, Starmie,Roserade,Exeggutor, etc

The 1st trainer he encounters is some grey-haired playboy wannabe named Inigo Howard with Meganium as his starter with Swellow,Avalugg,Steelix,and Dusknoir to round it out..Not a particularly terrible team, but it was no match to Jalen's Incineroar who practically swept Inigo's team in a 5v5 format spar(Considering that Inigo only had 5 mons).

The next opponent was a bit more tougher being a Hoenner named Diego Brando who had 4 mons on him in a 2v2 double format, but they were powerful being that of Blaziken, Salamence, Claydol, and Walrein. That Claydol of his was very annoying with the Light Clay it used as well as using Swagger on his Salamence that carried a Lum Berry to heal itself. Luckily, Jalen was able to get a Dragon Dance on his Gyarados and end the Salamence before it could had swept his team. Although it did took down his Incineroar and Electabuzz, leaving Gyarados and Primeape to handle the rest of his team.

However...just as he was about done, he noticed that he have amassed quite a crowd on watching his matches...at least some of his fellow Unovians have decided to watch him and cheer him on.
Looking at them, he was about to walk towards them when someone call out to him.
"Oi, hold it."

He turns around and had to stop himself form double-checking when he sees the person who called out to him. A black spiky-long haired girl with deep red eyes scowls at him with her arms crossed. She is wearing a red johtoian(Japanese) style of clothing consisting of a black sash wrapped around her stomach with the inner vest being of the same color of her eyes. Her bottom attire consist of a skirt with (What Jalen hoped to be artificial and not actual ones) feathers designed to be like those from a Honchkrow hanging out covering parts of her behind with black boots on.

All in all, Jalen could describe her as a exotic person..

"Been watching you fight around here...even defeated Diego here." At this, Diego scoffs. "I was going easy on him!" "Don't lie, I know for a fact that you were playing for keeps." "(This girl seems to give off a rather domineering vibe...)" Jalen look between the 2 people as the crowd all murmur about the girl.

"Oh fuck, that's Raven Branwen!"
"Who?"
"Tch, don't you know? She's the #1 Freshman at Goldonrod Institute!"

"She's, like, one of the prettiest girls out there!"

"And her Charizard is very, very strong! They say that it's loss records is in the single digits!!!"
Seems Raven is very used to all of this, Jalen muses as she don't show any expression as she glare at him and pull a Pokeball off of her waist.

"Battle me, I won't take no for an answer."

"Then what's the point of asking me?"
Jalen roll his eyes and throw out his Incineroar who roars for battle.

Raven ignore his snark and release her Charizard who too roar at Incineroar...Both mons are glaring each other down as the crowd all chatter over the 2 pokemon and their trainers. Raven speak over them to Jalen.

"This will be a Single battle with only 1 Pokemon, deal!?"
"Fine with me!"
"Battle!"
"Battle!"

Raven extends a fist out to take the 1st turn.

"Charizard, Dragon Dance to Dragon Claw!"
"Incineroar, Bulk Up and then go for a Throat Chop!"

Charizard's body sparks with red/black electricity before she flies at Incineroar who was shining brightly with a crimson aura as he braced himself for a Dragon Claw. Charizard swings at his chest with the intention of raking him, but Incineroar brush it off and land a direct attack at her throat, making her wheeze, but she ignores the pain and with more speed due to DD, flies behind him and slash his back with D-Claw.

"Good, now go for a Mega Punch!"
"Counter back with your own!"

Both mons roar as Incineroar turns around with a glowing fist to meet Charizard's. The 2 fits hit one another and a shockwave of power echoes out. blowing some air against  the spectators. The 2 mons skid back towards their trainers, both still raring to go.

"(Charizard won't beat this pokemon in a close combative state...I have to go for long range!)"
"(As long as we stay close to her, we can win this!)"
"Charizard! Take to the skies and rain down Air Slashes!!"
"!!"

Charizard roars as she flies up, and with both of her hands glowing blue with sharp airs covering them, slashes down at Incineroar to send off shockwaves of wind towards the Heel Pokemon. Incineroar couldn't dodge them and roars out in pain as the 3 slashes connect on him. Jalen grit his teeth as Raven scowls harder.

"As long as I stay in the air..you won't win." She crosses her arms "Give up." Jalen smirks and wags his finger, making her raise her eyebrow in puzzlement. "Don't be so quick to end this match...Incineroar, Torment!" "!!"
Incineroar makes a frightening look at Charizard as she is enveloped in a dark coat of energy before it disappears...suddenly, she can't spam her Air Slashes like she was doing so earlier...

"Now, Taunt!"
"Damn!"

Incineroar flips Charizard off and make provoking gestures at her, making her roar down with rage as she can no longer use non-attacking moves now...Raven growls and point a finger at Incineroar.
"No matter! We still have the advantage in the air, Dragon Pulse!"
"Jump up and bring her down with a Body Slam!!"

As Charizard tries to charge up her attack with her mouth glowing bright blue, Incineroar, with great strength in his legs, jumps up high and grab on to her tail! He soon position himself on top of her and use his weight to bring them both down in the middle of the crowd and land with a loud crash, making it quite smoky in the process. Incineroar jumps out of the crater and land before Jalen with a loud roar as Charizard struggles to get up...before she stomps the ground in anger and rise up.

"...You're not bad for pushing me this far..."

Raven whispers to herself as she reach into her shirt and pull out a necklace with a bright glowing stone...Jalen widens his eyes along with the crowd as both she and her Charizard begin to glow brightly.

"Oh fuck, you're telling me that..."
She looks up with a look of anger and hold her necklace up high, enveloping her Charizard in a pink orb of energy.

"THAT'S RIGHT! I HAVE MASTER THE POWER OF MEGA EVOLUTION!!! CHARIZARD, MEGA EVOLVE TO!!!...."
The Pink Orb soon crack...Incineroar grits his teeth as he knows that the real battle have now begun....soon the orb burst open to reveal a blue Charizard with flames leaking out of her mouth on the corners and a more muscular body. Her claws are more tougher looking as she bear a harsh stare at Incineroar now..before bellowing loudly.

"MEGA CHARIZARD X!!!!"

"Shit...this is gonna be quite something now..."
"Charizard, Dragon Claw!!!"
"Throat Chop!"

Repeating their 1st moves from the battle...Charizard bursts towards Incineroar and even tho he blocked it, Incineroar found that he couldn't stop the attack this time from hitting his chest and is sent flying towards a rock to his left from the motion of Zard's claw. He grits his teeth as he get off the rock, only for Zard to make her way towards him with a furious look.
"Dragon Claw again!"
"Duck under it and use Darkest Lariat!!"

Zard swings high as she swoops in, only for Incineroar to duck under it and slam his arm coated in dark energy at her neck and push her off and then slam her to the ground.
"Now get on top and rain down Mega Punches!!!"

Incineroar does just that and begin to hammer down powerful fists on her face...However, one of his fists is grabbed as to both his and Jalen's horror, Zard is smirking at him and counter back with a more powerful Mega Punch of her own, slugging him off of her and towards Jalen as Incineroar get up slowly on his feet, clearly tired and in pain...But Charizard meanwhile seems to be slightly better off than he is...Raven crosses her arms.

"This is over now....Charizard..."
She extends a fist once more as she prepare for her finishing move...
"FLARE BLITZ!!!"
As Charizard's body begin to wrapped herself with brightly blue fire...Incineroar beats his chest in anger as Jalen orders...
"You use Flare Blitz too, Incineroar!!"

And begin to cover his own body with a darker flame from his belt..Both mons glare at one another before they roar and charge towards each other with the intent of ending this fierce battle...as they clash, a huge explosion mixed with blue fire and black fire erupts...both the trainers and the crowd covers their face as the smoke bellows over them...
Soon, the smoke dies down as both mons are now glaring at each other..neither one wanting to fall down...the silence among the battered field is enormous...but then Incineroar slowly begin to lean back as he is KO'ED and land on the ground with a loud thud...Jalen runs towards him and check on him as the crowd erupts loudly.

"THAT WAS AWESOME! RAVEN IS THE BEST!!"
"SHE'S SO PRETTY AND STRONG!!!"
"That Jalen guy isn't too bad either, ya know..."
"Well yeah, but he kinda fucked himself over when he accepted Raven's challenge!"
Jalen rubs Incineroar's head as he returns him.
"Good job, friend..you did wonderful.."

He hears a grunt and turn back around with a frown towards Raven and her now back to normal Charizard. She look down at him with a calculating look to his challenging scowl.

"...You're not bad...but you still have some time before you can beat me."
"Well, next time we face off, I'll win. Trust me."
She shrugs as she returns her Charizard.
"If you say so..."
She crosses her arms as she turns around and walk off...before Jalen call out to her.

"Hey, before you go, you will know my name...it's Jalen Pruett!"
She stops and look back at him with a calm look..before she smirks at him...Something about that look makes Jalen quite weak on his knees as she turn around with a hand on her hips
"Sure, that way I can know the name of the guy who I crushed~"

Before Jalen can counter back with a retort of his own, the very loud announcement rings out all over the city as the TVs on the buildings come on to show the MC.
"EVERYONE, THE ELDIGAN BOWL 1ST ROUND WILL NOW BEGIN! BE SURE TO TUNE IN OR HEAD TO THE ARENA TO WATCH THE EXCITING MATCH!!"

Raven smirks as she waves back at Jalen.
"See ya around, Pruett..."

And she walks off with a sway to her hips as Jalen can't even say anything to her..
"Fu-fuck...Whatever..I better go and get to a seat where Rhiannon and my friends are at...."

As he runs off, Raven thinks about the boy..
"(He's not a bad trainer and he's quite good looking..I look forward to seeing him more often...)"
