Kid Anon and Fluttermom Part 32

>Not much time passes in your sleep.
>not like it'd need too, you and Fluttershy were merely napping at this point. Waiting for the morning you both were used to to start.
>or at least she was used too, you did wake up late sometimes.
>Though, one thing that was mostly consistant. Fluttershy always awoke before you, making breakfast for herself,you, Angel, and her animal friends.
>infact, like clockwork. She once again awakes before you as you sleep soundly. But before she can do anything about breakfast. A knock comes at the door. It makes you open your eyes slightly.
>you pull the blankets over your face. Your mind was still in a haze and Fluttershy went to the door softly calling out "who is it?". You weren't ready for Zecora part two, so you snuggled in your blanket and tried to go back to full sleep.
>"Hey Fluttershy!" Called a familiar energetic voice "You awake yet!?"
>It was Rainbow Dash, it had to be. Though, you were too sleepy to be sure, and you barely had any interaction with her to add on to your uncertainty.
>But it was definitely her, Fluttershy knew that as she opened it to greet her friend "Hello Rainbow Dash...I didn't expect to see you this morning. How are you?"
>Rainbow Dash triumphantly trotted in place and flexed her hooves "Still training for that race, only five more days to get in tip top shape and I'm gonna need my best training buddy for another round! you game?"
>Fluttershy didn't seem too thrilled about doing it two days in a row, plus she had other responsibilities "Rainbow Dash, I'd love to help you for another day. But me and Anon are going through a few things. And I'd rather not leave him alone for the day..."
>Fluttershy was still worried about your reaction from last night, including your refusal about going to school.

>Rainbow Dash was disappointed with that response "Come on Fluttershy, that's your usual answer nowadays. You rarely leave the house anymore..."
>Fluttershy attempted to correct her "Well, I went out to help you yesterday actually...thats kind of how this mess with Anon started"
>Rainbow Dash was confused "What?! are you saying it's my fault?! What did I even do?!"
>Fluttershy started to lose confidence with Rainbow Dash's reaction, and slowly span her hoof around the floor "Well, it was your idea to have him go to school...And, he doesn't want to go. He reacted really weird to finding out. I'm worried about him..."
>Rainbow Dash sighed as she facehoofed "Fluttershy, that's because he's a kid. You can't just bend to him like that! First he won't be going to school, next he'll be riding you around everywhere. That kid is old enough and smart enough to be in school."
>Fluttershy wasn't sure about that "How do you know? and even then, you know how children can be. What if he-"
>Rainbow Dash cut her off "What? make fun of him? Fluttershy, that's why you gotta make him tough, self confident, you know....like me". Otherwise they WILL make fun of him."
>Fluttershy doubted that alone would help "I hate to say it Rainbow Dash...but some fillies and colts can be cruel....especially to things they have never seen before...I...I just don't want him to be singled out."
>Rainbow Dash gave a confident smile to Fluttershy "will ya relax? You heard Cheerilee, she promised to make it smooth sailings for him. Fluttershy...come on...you said you're his mom right?"
>Fluttershy nodded confidently "Of course, even if he isn't a pony...he's my son And I'd do anything to protect him."
>"then? You gotta let him grow on his own too...or else he's just going to hide behind you all the time and drag you down. Fluttershy, Everypony in Ponyville knew about the race but you. Don't you think you're taking this mother thing a little too seriously?" Rainbow Dash said

>Fluttershy looked deep into Rainbow Dash's eyes, Rainbow Dash couldn't tell if she had said something wrong. But it had been awhile since she felt unsettled looking into her friend's eyes "I HAVE to take it seriously, Anon needs me! Nopony understands him like I do.And he's happy and healthy because of me...." with each word, Fluttershy became more determined to show Rainbow Dash her resolve "...and besides, you've never been a mother at all. You wouldn't know..."
>Rainbow Dash was speechless "..geez..Fluttershy..." She looked down, shifting her eyes. Trying to find a valid rebuttal "...well..I mean." She takes a deep breath "Fluttershy look, it's great that you're a mother and I support you all the way" she says with pure sincerity "But I know how I grew up, and how you grew up. And you gotta admit,we didn't cling to our parents forever. We loved em, but we became our own mares and everything. I'm not saying you gotta let him go, but just give him some independence by sending him to school. It'd be good for him, you'd have more time for yourself. It's win-win. Besides, if you are his mother, don't you think your say should be final?"
> Fluttershy had to think and digest those words "Well...I don't think my word should be THAT final. I really value Anon's input. But.....I suppose...mnnn. I just don't want to be a bad mother either. I always want to be there for him."
>Rainbow Dash nods "I can roll with that, but you can't baby him. Come on Fluttershy. If you didn't go out on your own, you'd probably still be living up with your parents. We'd have never discovered the elements, kick all sorts of butt, and go on wild adventures. I may not be a mom, but I know basic stuff"
>Fluttershy knew Rainbow Dash was right..mostly "Even so, you have to admit he is at a disadvantage. He doesn't know much about Equestria, and theres no other humans to be found. I think he needs just a bit more care than the usual filly or colt."


>Rainbow Dash disagreed, but she didn't want to go on a full on argument with Fluttershy. She just wanted to her to see things her way "Ok, there could be a problem because he's human. But wouldn't it be so rad to see him go out on his own? do things outside the house? go out with friends and parties and have fun without you having to worry about him" Rainbow Dash visibly cringed at her next words, but did her best to hide it "maaaybbbeee get a marefriend when he's older." She couldn't imagine it actually happening. Spike and Rarity was already a lost cause.
>Fluttershy started wondering about such things "Well, hmmm...actually...I suppose it would be rather awkward to bring his special somepony home and me...well...still treat him like a child...I..I don't want to embarrass him..."
>Rainbow Dash caught a lucky break, she started to make some headway. "There you see?" She hesitated on her next words, she realized if she went too forceful again, Fluttershy might just push back "I'm not saying it's gotta happen, like, right now. I'm just saying ease up on smothering him so much. Try to live a little yourself. Trust me, it's gonna be fine. I know you can do it Fluttershy!"
>Fluttershy gave it some thought. She thought Rainbow Dash was right, for the most part anyway. She still felt that she was doing a good job. Maybe more adjustments have to be made. But there was one thing for certain for the moment at hand "I..I can see what your saying Rainbow Dash...But I still don't want him to go to school until he's comfortable. What if I force him and he has such a terrible time that he never wants to go again?...or worse?"
>Rainbow Dash quickly started to think. there had to be a way past this logical hurdle...what would Twilight say? "I..Kinda can see what you're saying. But we all had to go to school when we thought it'd be scary too. If you wait too long, what if he ends up being too old? Then he'll really get made fun of. You don't want that do you?"

>Fluttershy looked down, she didn't want that at all "Well....no"
>Rainbow Dash needed a clincher. All she wanted was her friend to get her life back more than anything else. She was happy that she was a "mother". But unlike her friends, she felt she was taking the role much too seriously. To the point things had started to change.It's not like she didn't care about Anon, she just had her own priorities.
>Rainbow Dash took a moment more to think "ok, ok..I got it. Why not bring Anon along? I bet if he's around the most confident pony in Equestria, maybe it'll rub off on him." There was a little more to this than Rainbow Dash let on, she also wanted to try to have her own personal chat with Anon.
>"I wouldn't mind that at all, maybe a day out with us will help Anon clear his head. That way I can be near him in case he has a problem and I can help you with your training," she began to smile "That's a great idea Rainbow Dash...I-I mean...as long as we don't slow you down"
>Rainbow Dash flicked her hoof forward."Nah, if anything we can just say it's another "obstacle" in my training"
>Fluttershy eyed Rainbow Dash seriously "I'd appreciate it if you didn't refer to my son as an "obstacle" "
>Rainbow Dash coughed and tried to correct herself "o-oh right, sorry. You know I didn't mean it that way. It was an expression..eheh"
>Fluttershy nodded, in a dominative fashion "good" then she took a small breath. "I'm going to be making breakfast, would you like to join us? Can't train on an empty stomach you know"
>Rainbow Dash grinned "Nah, already ate. But I wouldn't mind hanging around. No point in me leaving without you guys. So, what's Anon up to right now?"
>Fluttershy moved back to open the door and re-enter the house and took a gaze at you, and pointed at you and giggled "Still sleeping, don't wake him yet, my poor little gentlecolt had a little bit of a rough morning too. So I don't want him to wake up until the last possible moment."
