- Heyyyy youtube, it's your boy Tony bringing you another episode of Thrill Shot, your window to theme park news shot on location in the parks themselves. Today I'm back at Quest Land, where else, to talk about a transport ride, of all things. You know that normally wouldn't warrant a whole video, but there's a few reasons why I thought this was worth covering.
- [Shots of still images of a western railroad ride]
- First of all, unlike Q.Q. World, which has had the Huma Railroad for decades now, and the Quest for Quality Entertainment Studios which have the themed shuttles, Quest Land itself has never had a transport ride before. And the second reason
- [Cut back to Tony talking to camera in a different section of the park, which has wildly mis-matched scenery]
- This transport ride, the Universal Interplanar Railway sounds balls to the wall crazy. Where do I start? How about the main station, which is located here in Anachrony – pretty much the first interesting thing built in this section of the park since the Chaos Dunk opened. It's still behind work walls at the moment, but publicity photos
- [Still frames of a two-storey building with an aesthetic that blends a wild-west stagecoach building, modern brickwork, castle ramparts, and bright neon]
- show that it's a weird looking building that finally uses Anachrony's mis-matched aesthetic and looks like they actually designed it that way. From the press release we know that the ground floor is going to actually mainly be a gift shop, and the upper floor is a sort of museum room that they're going to be filling up gradually with relics from Universal as it goes on.
- [Cut back to Tony now in a dungeon environment]
- So where's the actual station in this station building? It's underground. That's right, the QQ company, in their wisdom, have built a subway under their flagship park. Why? Well, for one, it means the trains won't be visible in the other themed lands, and they don't have to build the track around their existing park. I mean, they have to go through the actual earth underneath it, but hey, as long as it doesn't disrupt guests, right?
- [Cut to Tony on a theme-park city street]
- And they've really succeeded in not disrupting guests – most of the stations are actually finished, and you probably didn't even notice them working on them. You see this San Ditko Subway sign? I bet you always thought “That's just set dressing, that's a facade or an empty building”. And yeah, you'd have been right, but that's where the San Ditko station of the Railway was built, right under your feet. The Starhold station was completed in similar fashion – right around the corner from Starhold Square no less – and the Stardust Gulch station is on schedule to be finished soon. The Fantastic Wilds isn't getting a station because you don't go to Fantastic Wilds you go through Fantastic Wilds
- [Cut to the same shot]
- I mean Fantastic Wilds isn't getting a station because Fantastic Wilds already has excellent transportation links to the rest of the park on foot. And because the Railway is a circular and they don't want to have to detour it through the middle of the park. And because nobody goes to the Fantastic Wi-

- Anyway like I said, the Interplanar Railway is set to be a circular subway under the park with trains running in both directions, but get this, it's not just a subway, it's an experience ride. Lead ride designer Bill Cross has stated that when they ride the Railway, they want guests to actually feel like they're travelling between dimensions. So to achieve that the underground tracks are surrounded by a huge amount of screens, lights, and sound, all to get an “interdimensional portal” feel for the train.
- [Still images of promo shots of the train tunnels, which look like a Doctor Who opening]
- [Cut to Tony in Anachrony]
- That's really cool, especially for Anachrony. Its whole concept is being an interdimensional pot-pourri, but it's all tucked away in a corner of the park, so it feels disconnected from all the different universes it's meant to be blending. The Railway not only connects Anachrony to the other areas, it'll do it with the appropriate feel.
- The bigger station isn't the only thing that ties this ride to Anachrony, though. Tickets for the ride are going to be available as single-ride tickets, day passes, and trip passes, and those first two are going to be significantly discounted if they're bought from the Anachrony station. It seems like, in a way, they're trying to make Anachrony the transport centre of the park. And that's fine by me, you know, because the geographical centre of the park suuuu-

- The planned opening date for the Interplanar Railway is March 24th and you can expect a follow-up video with every detail soon after. Before then we've got the opening of the Hunter/Killer Showcase Spectacular where the Cowboys and Circus Spectacular used to be, [gestures to an area offscreen to his right] which I will definitely be covering, so keep an eye out – I might hold off on that and see how much I have to say about the Railway, I might end up rolling them both into the same video.
- As always, thank you for watching Thrill Shot, please like and comment and if you want to keep up with all sorts of theme park news, subscribe. Catch you next time.
