  4. Color lag like Yellow does actually exist in GSC, to my surprise. Entering a battle in red/yellow bar will lose 5 frames over green bar. I actually realized this deep into the currently published TAS, but it was so far in I didn't want to fix it up. The biggest issue regarding color lag is I took the liberty of not getting absolutely minimum damage rolls from Abe/Falkner, resulting in staying in yellow bar until the free heal after Slowpoke Well, losing a little under a second. Making sure to take minimum damage rolls at all times would avoid this.

  14. I memed about the potential for deathwarping out of the Radio Tower a bit during my solo cynda test. The result wasn't really too promising and relied on specific details to work out. I decided against it overall when I tried solo toto. However, I have noticed the crystal tas thread how FractalFusion noted you can fight a different trainer in the Radio Tower with deathwarp strats, one with fewer mons, and thus a bit faster. This actually has no real major downsides for Crystal and is essentially a guaranteed improvement there (the loss of exp doesn't particularly matter for Raikou from what I've seen). This however is a bit nasty for Gatr. In particular, Red requires an extra turn of setup due to not hitting level 63 right before Blastoise. How do we avoid this? We could potentially use the Rare Candy in the lighthouse, the same one RTA uses to evolve croc into gatr and taking a little advantage of IT for evolve text. This however requires extra exp. For context, RTA gets some experience so it can get Water Gun for Russell, a trainer who has 3 geodudes and is fairly slow to take down without Water Gun. TAS can just manip for tons of crits and misses so just spamming Rage works out somewhat well, albeit still a bit slow. We could potentially just get exp for Water Gun, although the best is likely just spam Rage against Daniel's Onix, which is less than ideal. Still it would be enough to do the candy strat. However with some very inaccurate calculations I'm not too convinced that will be enough. This isn't even the only problem of the strat. The easiest way I have found to faint other mons is to just swap the main to the bottom and let the 3 wild Electrodes self destruct and faint party members. This is actually pretty fast and results in only around ~5 seconds lost overall. No not 5 seconds per mon, 5 seconds overall. This sounds perfect for Crystal since it would only have 4 mons (Raikou/Quil/Poli/Kenya), so this is quite literally only 5 seconds lost to handle the other mons. However, Gold has 5 mons (Gatr/Cutter/Abra/Kenya/Gyara). So a choise has to be made.

  16. 1. Use some other trainer to KO the remaining mon. This is rather slow and rather unappealing.
  17. 2. Instead of KOing the mons, just deposit them then withdraw them after Radio Tower bs. This would take around 40ish seconds overall in timeloss, so I am skeptical if this would be faster than just dealing with the extra death. However, it would allow slightly less exp lost, so it could be better due to that?

  19. I really need to just do some testing with this but that can come at a much later time. Worst case this is all slower so no deathwarping is faster? As a final note, there could be potential to outright skip the Heal House using deathwarp strats (PP is restored at the deathwarp and it's a bit in the middle of this PP desert so it isn't that Farfetch'd), but this is the potential of potential timesaves lel.

  21. edit: the exp being fucked isn't the only issue, the speed stat exp from electrodes is really important. might be overall better to just do deposit withdraw strats
