Aside from shrinking back at the dispensing of punishment and her own fear for what would happen if Hawk heard she let Rose die, that was actually her primary thought. An enemy is not immediately able to be beaten solely on her morality alone. If that was how it was, there wouldn't be any point to a war, now would there?

In fact, Rikka, who was actually actively showing her mastery of light magic [i]right in front of Rose[/i] while several meters from [i]the Cornerstone of Light itself[/i] probably should have set off warning bells, and did. From several angles, both on her armaments and right in front of her from everyone present, the "villain to be defeated" included. In fact, Azumi herself, though considering Rikka her primary enemy, wouldn't risk a fight in those circumstances, with or without the warnings, regardless of her armaments.

She just prayed that her slips hadn't been caught as she stepped back, obeying the command, but still didn't keep from one more comment, shouted before the blade would hit. "I do think that you might want to be a little nicer! Unlike her, you're not completely free from the ravages of intelligence, are you? Still, I do understand the enormity of your power, Rikka! Believe me!"

She studied Rikka, wanting to learn more of her spells aside from "Fireflies" and her light blasts. She just hoped that the insults could get through while also helping to get a better deal from her "master". She just didn't want to be publicly humiliated again.
