As Emcee of Inductions, I would bring that same energy, optimism, and determination to the mic for the christening of our class. I truly believe in the mission of AmeriCorps to forge wild, young ne'er-do-wells, such as myself, into proud and strong leaders, and I love America.

Hi. My name is [name]. I have the great honor of serving as an AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps Member, Key Unit, Team II, and would love to extend my service by helping to formally induct Class XXIII into AmeriCorps history. In my short time at campus, I have been welcomed with open arms. CM's of every unit have assisted me with inprocessing, included me in their leisure, and afforded me their friendship. We have shared our joy, secrets, faults, triumphs, and most importantly, food. I've seen TLs buy their entire team fine Mexican cuisine out-of-pocket. I've also seen them brawl amongst themselves in a boyish manner that brings tears to my eyes, reminding me of my own youth and beloved brother, God bless his heart.

And of course, none of this would be possible without the Vicksburg Campus Staff, who have given us meals, clothing, and shelter. Now, they're legally obligated, so that's not all that; however, Ms. Casey is not required to stay after-ours and help CM's with their LAA plans, or obtaining their GEDs - a loss many would discount them for altogether. Ms. Monica is not required to learn the names of a good ninety-five percent of her team by the second day, nor one hundred percent by the second week.

But what truly bonds us is time spent together. Soon, we will face our first trial by fire - Round One of Spikes. As Fetty Wap's feature on "Promise", by Kid Ink, famously flowed: "I promise you, you straight / I promise to be great."
