  5. [15:32] <HenrikNystrom> yeah I always wanted variation and that you can chose the style you prefer without being totaly gimped, or that you are always forced to go a different route than you would want to due to the op ness

  7. [15:33] <HenrikNystrom> such as thursars, they are meant to be powerful in melee
  8. [15:33] <HenrikNystrom> we have taken small steps with race stats to try to make more use of them
  9. [15:33] <HenrikNystrom> but again the last thing we want to do is mess up current styles or force ppl to feel to reroll.

  11. [15:34] <HenrikNystrom> thats why we dont tend to make any race weaker or worse :)

  14. [15:34] <HenrikNystrom> but see, now when we finally reach to deliver a new continent, with some extreme nature, then all of a sudden we may get more value from some races
  15. [15:34] <Map-ThaBadMan> have you thought about making every race able to get the same stats as in making the races a sandbox aswell ?

  17. [15:35] <HenrikNystrom> thats why its so hard, where some races slowly get bonuses due to what comes next
  18. [15:35] <HenrikNystrom> well making the races the same as any other that also means we remove some sandbox due to its just a skin and no variation

  20. [15:36] <Map-ThaBadMan> ye but you can come up with race bonuses instead of different stats

  22. [15:36] <Map-ThaBadMan> which means everyone is equally viable but theres pros and cons with each race

  24. [15:37] <HenrikNystrom> I knew speed would get important due to past experience in similar enviroments, but we had a long discussion that we really wanted to try different stats and speeds
  25. [15:37] <HenrikNystrom> speed is still king, and probably always will be
  26. [15:37] <HenrikNystrom> but I still think there are room for some bonuses and new things to come that will pan out this a bit
  27. [15:37] <Map-ThaBadMan> yes its been tried and imo failed to have different as there will always be one king among racces that way
  28. [15:38] <HenrikNystrom> we have a very VERY old design on race bonuses/features that we havnt touched yet
  29. [15:38] <HenrikNystrom> we also have design on wounds etc, which do affect your limbs/speed
  30. [15:38] <Map-ThaBadMan> sounds good as long as its not OP bonuses/features
  31. [15:38] <HenrikNystrom> all those things are not yet touched, since both they are sensitive and that they have a great impact on pvp

  34. [15:39] <HenrikNystrom> at the same time we do not just simply want to ignore the design we written years ago, and its the vision of the game we are going through
  35. [15:39] <HenrikNystrom> Pocket, as of now, there is NO loading screen :)

  37. [15:39] <HenrikNystrom> its a chunk of loading in the back ground but so far I think its very impressive
  38. [15:39] <HenrikNystrom> so we are still load less, which is quite amazing

  40. [15:40] <Map-ThaBadMan> which is rare even now with very little interruptions to player control and skill

  42. [15:40] <HenrikNystrom> we always aim to add as much player skills as possible in MO, and we have many utilites to come that requires a playere to be aware of these things to be succesful

  61. [15:44] <HenrikNystrom> yeah thievery is something that intertest many players also new ones, they want to be a thief like in those single player games, and its quite a unique feature in a mmo like this

  63. [15:44] <Map-ThaBadMan> Like with the schools do you have to decide to go healer or damage dealer or ritualist and so on ?

  66. [15:45] <Map-ThaBadMan> so if you dont choose healer you dont have a single heal on your mage ?
  67. [15:45] <HenrikNystrom> both to venture in dungeons to disarm traps, lockpick chests, and also pve elements

  69. [15:45] <HenrikNystrom> each magic school will have its own theme and settings, and its own rules/reagent system
  70. [15:46] <HenrikNystrom> so, if you spend all your skill points into magic, you will know tons of different spells, but yeah as you know your normal skill pool will be used into that

  79. [15:47] <HenrikNystrom> thing is, our first protetype magic school was incredible similar to how it was in UO which was the goal system wise. Built by seb and I was so impressed and play UO in MO

  82. [15:47] <HenrikNystrom> we did our best in trying to balance what we had then
  83. [15:48] <HenrikNystrom> but I am confident that seb will be able to deliver what we seek in the current network system

  138. [15:59] <Map-ThaBadMan> and had more maneuverability than plate users
  139. [15:59] <Pockets> well hopefully that shit will be fixed, since u need lighter stuff in other continents

  143. [16:01] <Map-ThaBadMan> dmg wise i took around 10 dmg more than I would in plate with same materials
  144. [16:02] <Map-ThaBadMan> If your still reading Henrik, why does the new armors have so much more durability than the old ones ? and will it change to have high dura on old aswell ?
