  8. Then I wish you luck on your fragmented game. They were right, I should not have pushed things so early, I've got to wait for you all to get over your hissy fit. I'll let you walk down the sidewalk some more, with your suitcase stuffed with your teddy bear and blanket. Perhaps later on you'll realize you have your head shoved so far up your ass that you can only see your conceited goals in mind. The IAPL needed your help, but instead of putting your big boy pants on, you all shoved up your middle finger and walked out on us. Your project is simply something that got so out of hand, you forgot why you started it in the first place.

  10. I hope your players question, repeatedly, "Where is the rest of America?"

  15. You don't get it, do you? We are no longer part of the IAPL. That is not negotiable. We won't be returning. The IAPL no longer has the following members for help in their games-
  16.
  17. Myself
  18. Charmilio
  19. Shiny_Jirachi
  20. Darkkal
  21. Ency
  22. Soaring
  23. Aus_pokeguy
  24. Pikazec2012
  25. ShinyGengar
  26. Averdak
  27. KY_trainer
  28. Tortiss

  30. Also, don't compare the IAPL with GameFreak- GameFreak is a respectable company. The IAPL was a respectable team, until recently. One sells their games, the other was going to have their games open source, and provide them for free.
  31.
  32. If none of this is clear to you, then I don't know what else to say. I don't know who you are, and at this point, I no longer care. If I had known who you were, perhaps I would feel more compelled to give you a nicer explanation- however, since I don't know your identity, I can only assume that you're someone who's seen/heard our arguments many, many times, and I don't have the patience to keep explaining everything over, and over, and over again.

  37. I was referencing the content completely when I said "segment of the IAPL." Your project is governed by a new entity now, but what you're working on is a clone of a piece of the IAPL. What this basically is, is a part of Game Freak breaking off into a separate entity to work on Johto.

  40. Lack of progress-
  41. Well, that's one reason why we /are/ leaving- so that it doesn't take 15 years to get this project done.
  42.
  43. Lack of focus on the Pacific Region-
  44. Well, with the number of active members that we have, we were spread way too thin to get any work done, unless we concentrated on only one region at a time. This actually goes with the 'lack of progress' thing.
  45.
  46. As far as "being a segment of the IAPL", we're not- we have a completely different rule set, we have a completely different hierarchy, etc. The only thing that's similar is the content in the game itself. We took everyone who contributed greatly to the project, and we are going to concentrate soley on Pacific. As far as wanting to be governed by ourselves- yep, it's true. We're tired of dealing with the IAPL, and we decided to set up a programmer-centric hierarchy. This has nothing to do with a "grab for power"- it's a quest for independence from the IAPL.
  47.
  48. As far as trolling goes- we won't be posting in /vp/ or anywhere else. We won't be taking on new members without a 2/3 vote by all members. The members we currently have troll minimally, and get work done. The fact that the IAPL is getting trolled hard right now is irrelevant.

  52. Lack of progress:
  53. I wasn't aware that the IAPL had a set deadline for this project. I figured we were like Duke Nukem, (which, they're actually releasing their game soon).
  54.
  55. Lack of focus on the Pacific Region:
  56. This is the IAPL we're talking about. We were working as a whole, not just Pacific, even IF it was the most developed.
  57.
  58. ----
  59. The last three I'll give to you. Those are issues that I personally will try to fix, as compensation for my lack of previous effort. In fact, if I had known there was an issue way back when, I would have tried to help out with this.
  60.
  61. As far as severance, your "project" still looks exactly like a piece of IAPL. You even have the same region name. No matter how much disconnect you try to gain from this, it still looks like a fragment of the IAPL project. You simply just wanted to be governed by yourself, and not your parent organization.
  62.
  63. There always has been trolling, and there always will. There will always be gremlins that slip through the cracks. Despite what your letter says, there have been troll attacks on the IAPL, very recently, in fact, and we have heard talk of further aiding the IAPL to wither and die.

  75.
  76. Reasons for leaving-
  77.
  78. The lack of progress on the game in general
  79. The lack of focus on the Pacific Region amongst members
  80. Abuse of powers from Administrators and Moderators, especially those who have retained powers despite long periods of inactivity.
  81. The constant changing of standards pertaining to the regions as a whole.
  82. General disrespect of hard working members, who are not Moderators or Administrators.
  83.
  84.
  85.
  86. What we hope to achieve:
  87.
  88. Have a smaller, faster, more efficient team of people who will actually make extensive progress on the game.
  89. A programmer-centric management with clear goals and that is less abusive with power.
  90. NON-EXISTENT trolling and general ass-hattery.
  91. A clear and comprehensive rule set regarding the addition of members.
  92. An assignment system for members to make sure that work is finished in a timely fashion.
  93.
  94.
  95.
  96. What we want from the IAPL
  97.
  98. To completely sever from any and all association.
  99. To be left alone, so we can get work done in a timely fashion.
  100.
  101.
  102.
  103. What we will give in exchange
  104.
  105. We will NOT discriminate, in any way, shape or form, those who decide to remain on both the Pacific Region and IAPL projects, or those who decide to remain with the IAPL.
  106. We will leave you alone, and let you finish your “work”⇱.
  107.
  108.
  109.
  110. What we will be taking from the IAPL
  111.
  112. The C#/Visual Basic IAPL engine as well as the associated mapmaker software (beta), as it is already Pacific-centric, and is property of the programmers, and the public, as it is released under the the GPLv3.
  113. Any and all artwork, sprites, music, or anything else pertaining to the Pacific Region (with permission from the authors, of course)
  114. The Pacific League script. If permission to the script is revoked, it will be mirrored and worked on. If the admin(s) of the current script refuse to allow any work to be done, new admins will be declared. The script is the property of the writers, not just the admins who oversee it.
  115.
  116.
  117.
  118. What we will NOT be taking from the IAPL
  119.
  120. Anything that is not listed above.
  121. The IAPL’s right to have a seperate Pacific League if it wishes.
  122.
  123. If that's not clear enough, let me know. Feel free to ask anything.

  130. Now, without listing "administration" or "organization," tell me your other reasons that you (8kit) left the IAPL. That's all I really gathered from your (8kit's) bitter doc. As in, what "goals" or "visions" in specific, go further than that of IAPL's?

  156. I can tell you that I've been around IAPL since September. I haven't been a big part of it, but I did try to make an effort during December, and the beginning of January, then things seemed to die off in my sector. I've actually talked to you a few times, but with my lack of attendance, I doubt you'd remember me. I forgot to check IAPL for a month, and I come back today, via a troll thread I saw on /vp/, and see this mess. It looks like it is in serious need of damage control.
