- Featured In: In chronological order: Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories/Re:Chain of Memories (a remake), Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance
- Name: Sora
- Age: 15/16 (as of Dream Drop Distance)
- Gender: Male
- Alignment: Good
- Personality: Sora is very friendly, always willing to help anyone out as long as they are not his enemies, regardless of how well he knows them. He is highly protective of his friends, especially Kairi, and is willing to forgive almost any villain as long as they show themselves to be repentant. Highly optimistic, Sora tries to get others to "think positive" if they are upset. His good natured attitude extends to the point that he considers anyone who is willing to help him a friend, regardless of how well he knows them, with the exception of if he finds out about unrepentant reactions for evil deeds. On the other hand, he has a very low tolerance for cowardice or selfishness, often calling villains out for behavior that amounts to such a conclusion.
- Although he can sometimes appear to be simpleminded, even gullible or naïve in certain instances, Sora has a strong sense of justice. Sora can be childish at times, whether it is wanting to try out a pirate ship or wanting to meet Santa Claus, or even his highly competitive streak (such as for Olympus Coliseum tournaments). In spite of this behavior, he dislikes being called a kid, preferring to be known by his name.
- Although he is a good pilot of Gummi ships, Sora is not technologically savvy, only really being able to use a computer as far as typing in names and pressing a key to send in the requests for a search. Past that, he's more likely to try bashing a keyboard until it does what he needs it to do.
- Sora does not really know how to show proper respect to people of higher authority than himself, like the King and Queen of Disney Castle or Master Yen Sid, often speaking to them as if they are on similar levels of authority without meaning any disrespect. However, he is trying to overcome this problem, and does show respect to certain people regarding that, such as King Simba of the Pride Lands and Princess Jasmine of Agrabah.
- However, although he does put on his front of optimism, he is hurt by the many things he has endured, a side that comes out in the form of anger during combat, or his occasional depression over the deaths of friends. However, the most violent of his representations of this behavior is (tending toward enemies) and tries to steal the hearts of those who it kills.
- He may sometimes lose track of the main mission, due to readily putting aside his own personal goals in order to help those in need, having to be reminded by his Nobody, Roxas, who lives, conscious, within his heart.
- Said Nobody is somewhat sarcastic, but gradually trying to be less unnecessarily irritating to his other after experiences with an outright, unjustified, insulting counterpart. He can be seen as a "smarter side" of Sora, being more calm and willing to think things over, mostly due to not having a body of his own. However, he can be angry or impulsive when he is in combat. Roxas also shares his memories and emotions with Sora completely following their most recent "in the flesh" meeting in The World That Never Was during Sora's Realm of Sleep test, having followed the last request of Ansem the Wise as of then, to "give Sora his hatred". He acknowledges that in a sense, he is Sora, but is willing to keep his own identity as per Sora's request. He also regularly communicates with Naminé, being a somewhat more abrasive counterpoint to her calmer suggestions for Sora and Kairi, not to mention Roxas being more prone to make jokes about Sora and Kairi in terms of romance at their expense in free time. In combat, unlike Sora, he is very aggressive, taking a stance toward attacking over defense.
- Powers: These skills will be separated between "Sora" and "Roxas". However, the latter is only available to his Nobody, who cannot physically fight except if something invades Sora's heart or he is otherwise within one.
- - Sora
- -- Explosion: Unleashes a finishing combo move that knocks down several enemies with exploding orbs of light around Sora. Damage dealt is relative to
- magic skill, and he doesn't use this spell often. He gained this technique over the course of the plot of Kingdom
- Hearts II.
- -- Magnet Splash: When there are multiple enemies near him and he is in mid-air, Sora spins around while creating a magnetic force which explodes outward as a combo finisher, sending the enemies flying. He gained this technique over the course of the plot of Kingdom Hearts II.
- -- Firaga: Shoots a powerful, somewhat homing fireball at enemies, or creates a shield of spiralling flames around the caster. Also has access to the lower level "Fire" and "Fira" spells, with similar, but weaker effects. He gained this spell over the course of the plot of Kingdom Hearts II, and regained use of his pre-Castle Oblivion variant (the fireball) during his training in the Sleeping Worlds in Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance.
- -- Blizzaga: Fires a blast of ice crystals at enemies. Also has access to the lower level "Blizzard" and "Blizzara" spells, with similar, but weaker effects. He gained this spell over the course of the plot of Kingdom Hearts II.
- -- Thundaga: Drops a powerful lightning bolt on an enemy, which arcs out and hits nearby enemies within the radius of the first. Also has access to the lower level "Thunder" and "Thundara" spells, with similar, but weaker effects. He gained this spell over the course of the plot of Kingdom Hearts II.
- -- Curaga: Creates a powerful healing effect on the caster, or on an ally of choice. Any ally within the radius of the one affected by the spell is also healed, though less so. Also has access to the lower level "Cure" and "Cura" spells, with similar effects, but a smaller area effect for allies (and none on Cure). He gained this spell over the course of the plot of Kingdom Hearts II, and gained a faster version of it in the Sleeping Worlds that does not require hand motion at all.
- -- Magnega: Creates a powerful vortex that sucks in enemies, doing damage for as long as the about half minute the spell lasts, as well as any collision damage they sustain within the field. Also has access to the lower level "Magnet" and "Magnera", which have similar, but weaker effects, with a smaller area of effect. He gained this spell over the course of the plot of Kingdom Hearts II.
- -- Reflega: A large dome of light appears momentarily around the caster, acting as a barrier that blocks attacks. Any attack that hits the
- dome will be reflected back all around the caster in bursts of light, equal to the attack power of the enemy whose attack is being reflected. Also has access to the lower level "Reflect" and "Reflera", which create a smaller dome and smaller area to burst light out from. He gained this spell over the course of the plot of Kingdom Hearts II.
- -- Aerial Dodge: A double jump of sorts combined with a three hundred sixty degree twist, this technique allows Sora to reflect enemy attacks for its duration. Helps Sora to last longer in the air, as well as smoother air combos, and an easy way to escape a ground attack. Sora gained this skill from his use of Master Form.
- -- Deck Commands: Due to his training with Yen Sid in freeing the Sleeping Worlds, Sora developed the ability to use an entirely new set of skills, known as a Command Deck. These do not rely on MP, but rather have time limits for their recharge individually, allowing him to use them quicker if possible. All he has available will be listed, but only some are currently active, due to him needing time to get used to using them in the waking worlds, as opposed to the more manipulable Sleeping World.
- --- Spark Dive: Sora dives from above the target with Keyblade first, dealing electrical damage and a shockwave.
- --- Spark Raid: An electrically based variation on his "Strike Raid", Sora throws his Keyblade, infused with electricity, at his enemies.
- --- Shadowbreaker: An attack using both light and darkness, this attack consists of a spinning slash diagonally with a darkness element to it, followed by a diagonal slash in the other direction with a light element.
- --- Timestorm: Sora spins around, his Keyblade like a pinwheel around him, causing either a Slow or a Stop effect to people who are hit.
- --- Spark: Summons one ring of revolving, rainbow crystals that deal light-based damage as they hover around the sides of the target, firing beams of light.
- ---- Sparkra(LOCKED): Summons two rings of the light.
- ---- Sparkga(LOCKED): Summons three rings of the light.
- --- Firaga Burst(LOCKED}: Sora points his Keyblade to the sky, summoning a very large ball of flame that then rains fireballs down on his enemies for several seconds.
- --- Mega Flare(LOCKED): Sora fires a massive fireball from his Keyblade, causing a large explosion on impact.
- --- Icicle Splitter(LOCKED): Sora summons a block of ice before him, then slashes it, sending shards of ice in all directions to hit his enemies.
- --- Circle Raid(LOCKED): An adapted form of his signature "Strike Raid", this skill has him throw his Keyblade so that it spins around him in two complete circles at a distance, causing damage to anyone it hits as it spins on its own as well before coming back to his hand like a boomerang.
- --- Tornado Strike(LOCKED): Sora spins around in a circle, firing out a spinning slash that launches a small tornado at the target.
- --- Tornado(LOCKED): Sora's ultimate magic, this skill has him float in the air on a large tornado before launching it around the battlefield, controlling it with his will for several seconds, but unable to move himself for the duration unless he is willing to lose the Tornado itself. People caught within the tornado will have continuous damage for its duration.
- --- Salvation(LOCKED): Sora holds his Keyblade in both hands, standing still for several seconds, then spins around, launching enemies into the air with a whirlpool of light, beams of light flying up.
- -- Steep Climb(CURRENTLY LOCKED): After blocking an attack, Sora can counter with a burst of wind to send an enemy away from him in the form of a swing of his Keyblade.
- -- Slide Roll: Learned in the Realm of Sleep, this incredibly fast dodge allows Sora to seemingly blur as he dashes away to avoid an attack, be it on the ground or in the air. Being far more versatile than the Quick Run he gained from training his Wisdom Form, this skill has replaced it.
- -- Enhanced Guard: Sora's guard technique has become akin to a shield that he can place in whichever direction is appropriate to defend against attack. The shield is in the form of a curved wall of light.
- -- Sleep Interaction: Due to the training in the Sleeping Worlds, Yen Sid revealed to Sora and Riku that the act of freeing those worlds from sleep has given them the ability to enter the hearts of others (albeit falling unconscious in the process) to free their own hearts from sleep if necessary. Sora can also use a similar ability to enter the Sleeping Worlds more often, though he tends to only use them to go to Traverse Town in that case.
- -- Drive Forms: Due to his magical clothes granted by Flora, Fauna, and Merriweather in the Mysterious Tower and the fact that their magical source is connected to his heart, the "Key that connects everything", Sora is capable of transforming into various powerful forms. He has access to Valor Form (when incorporating a strength-associated ally), Wisdom Form (when incorporating a magic-associated ally), Limit Form (by himself), Master Form (when incorporating both a magic-associated ally and a strength-associated ally), and Final Form (when incorporating two allies and Roxas). He also has a customized Form given by Audrey Jones' magic in the Realm of Sleep, known as Sleep Form, which allows him to use the skills from that Realm (except Reality Shifts and Link Actions). However, he is afraid of using Final Form in many cases except where it is absolutely necessary due to previous violent incidents when he went into it, and every time he uses any other Form, the danger of turning to Anti Form (incorporating two random allies until its completion, and completely out of his control except for rage) increases. Also, when he uses Sleep Form, more attention is brought to him in the form of various enemies due to the Recursant's Sigil, though, being altered to be a slightly different X with a different shape, this does not draw the immediate attention of the True Organization XIII. All of his forms are listed in the Super Form Listing.
- - Roxas
- -- Samurai Summon: A power from when Roxas was in the Organization XIII, this
- ability allows Roxas to summon several Samurai Nobodies to protect his "other", due to being their controller. Roxas has had this ability since his induction to the Organization XIII, though he has a degree of more difficulty with it since his defection.
- -- Keyblade Loan: Though he doesn't really need to, Roxas can give one of his Keyblades to Sora for limited amounts of time for him to use outside of his heart. However, this is only used if additional attack power is necessary immediately, and is returned to normal after whatever needs to be done is done.
- -- Corridors of Darkness: Due to his black cloak, Roxas is protected from the darkness of the Realm of Darkness. Ever since his time in the Organization XIII, he had access to the creation of Corridors of Darkness in order to transport himself from world to world. However, due to his current status as a Counterpart, this skill is relatively useless, seeing as he never exits Sora's heart.
- -- Trans-Heart Communication: Like any Counterpart, Roxas is able to communicate with others in the vicinity as if they were in the same room as him. This skill allows Sora to also hear Counterparts.
- -- Hovering: As of his awakening of his true power as the Key of Destiny following the death of Xion, Roxas is capable of floating around a battlefield, at varying speeds. However, he can only use this skill in Stations of Awakening.
- -- Light Manipulation: As per his original skills as a Nobody, Roxas is capable of a wide variety of light-based attacks. Those skills are listed below, as gained over the course of his short life, and shown in his duel with Sora alongside Joumae fighting Alexander.
- --- Thirteen Blades: Roxas can create thirteen phantom blades of light to form a shield around his body, or to connect above him in order to form a laser array to attack at a distance.
- --- Telekinetic Keyblade Control: Though he almost never uses this skill, Roxas is capable of controlling his Keyblades at a distance, attacking people from afar. However, to contrast with this, he does not know how to summon them back to his hands when already out in flashes of light like Sora can, and so has trouble when they are caught by another combatant.
- --- Speed: Roxas is fast enough in combat that he sometimes leaves light afterimages, though he is able to be hit nonetheless. Also, while moving at this speed, he leaves trails of white light behind him.
- --- Blasts of Light: Roxas is capable of firing blasts of pure light from his hands, tending toward this if he is in danger and has no Limit Breaks (see
- below) handy.
- -- Limit Breaks: Learned from Lexaeus during his time in the Organization XIII, and augmented by Saïx, Roxas is capable of using even more powerful, one-time skills when he is hurt enough. However, these are dangerous, as, if he does not find a way to keep the opponent away with the attack until he can heal, he is at a serious disadvantage. The final attack combination, the strongest, is called the Final Limit. His two Limit Breaks are listed here, depending on if he has one or two Keyblades out at the time.
- --- Event Horizon (One): Roxas darts around the battlefield, slashing at his opponents with heightened strength using Keyblades enveloped with light. The Final Limit has him summon thin pillars of light that move forward from where he is facing toward whatever the end of the field is, dealing heavier damage if it collides with anyone.
- --- Magic Hour (Two): Roxas floats in the air, Keyblades raised above him, as a rain of beams of light come down all around him at random. The Final Limit has him doing the same, but faster and more powerful. Similarly, as he is doing that, a Nobody symbol of light appears below him, and he begins firing strong blasts of light from his hands in a circle around him until it ends.
- -- Blackout: The only Deck Command that Roxas gained through the journey through the Sleeping Worlds, this skill causes a shockwave of darkness from Roxas' body as a focal point, blinding any in range.
- Abilities:
- - High Jump: Increases Sora's jumping height, combining it with a backward flip. It can be used in many ways to broaden Sora’s air combos and causes aerial battles to become swifter, in addition to making evading enemy attacks simple, as well as making platforming easier. Sora gained this skill from his use of Valor Form.
- - High Strength: Due to being a Keyblade Wielder, Sora's strength is somewhat above normal, though he does lose it if he ever loses the Keyblade to someone else.
- - Agility: Due to his affinity to the Keyblade, Sora, along with those close to him, is capable of performing "Reaction Commands", feats of instinctual reactions to combat situations. He gained this skill when he awoke from his year-long coma, at the start of Kingdom Hearts II.
- - Swordsmanship: Sora may not be a Keyblade Master in title, but he is an exceptional swordsman. However, while his skill is great, he is competent almost always when given a Keyblade to fight with, a lesser weapon making him weaker.
- - Synch Blade: Sora, being a Keyblade Wielder with an extra half of a heart, is capable of wielding two Keyblades simultaneously. Like his Nobody, Roxas, he could hypothetically dual-wield Keyblades at any time he has two free hands, but he is unaware of how to do this outside of certain Drive Forms as of yet.
- Appearance: In order to make sure everything is currently covered, Sora and Roxas will both be described, as they were known as of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.
- - Sora can be seen in this picture, but with the only difference being several mostly-healed surgical scars under the shirt, only visible if it is lifted. However, a written description will also be written here for convenience. As of the end of his time in the Realm of Sleep, Sora still has his brown, spiked hair and blue eyes, as well as fair skin. He wears a baggy black and silver outfit. Said outfit includes black, fingerless gloves with white straps around them, a blue and red undershirt, a black jacket with gray shoulder pads, black shorts with a blueish crotch area, and two red pouches on his hips, secured there by yellow straps around his legs and waist. He has yellow and black sneakers on his feet, and a silver necklace with a crown emblem around his neck.
- - Roxas can be seen in this picture. As for a written description, Roxas is in many ways physically similar to Sora. They have similarly fair skin, blue eyes, and spiky hair (though to different degrees), and are about the same height. However, Roxas' hair is golden blonde, akin to Ventus, rather than brown like Sora's. The front of his hair is more spiked toward the right side as if windswept, while the back is smoother and flakier. For clothing, he wears the customary black cloak of the Organization XIII, having abandoned the simulated Twilight Town's clothing that Ansem the Wise had made for him. The magical clothing is relatively simple, though infamous. It is a black, long-sleeved, double-chested, twin-tailed trench coat with a hood that, when up, shrouds his entire head in darkness. There is a large zipper that fastens the top and zips down to seal the coat, and silver drawstrings for the hood decorated with large silver beads handing from the end of each drawstring. A silver chain ornament adorned with four cylindrical silver beads fastens to a loop on either side of the collarbone region. He has atypical black sneakers, but also has black gloves, caused by the magic of the coat as well as. The legs of the coat are slightly close around him, while the shoulders are a bit protruded, just enough to be noticeable compared to other similar cloaks, but very close to that of Xigbar.
- Weapons: The Keyblade, though he and Roxas have different ones.
- - Sora's most commonly used one is the Kingdom Key. This is a Keyblade with a silver blade and golden handle, and looks like an oversized key. The keychain is silver, a mouse head with large, round ears. When summoning this weapon, the initial manifestation is in the form of a flash of white light that forms into it. He received this weapon at the start of his first adventure as a result of having the light half of Ventus' heart kept within him.
- - Roxas, by contrast, uses the dual combination of the Oblivion and the Oathkeeper. However, if they are not available, he tends to fall back to Kingdom Key as well.
- -- The Oblivion has a similar shape to the Kingdom Key, albeit with a longer reach and a black coloration. The hilt guard is comprised of two bat-like wings extending downward, with a diamond shape in the hilt. The teeth are in the shape of the Kanji symbol for "darkness" (闇), and the token on the Keychain is a black version of Sora's crown necklace. Chainlike designs run up the length of the blade. Summoning this weapon takes the form of black smoke and violet sparks that form into the weapon itself.
- -- The Oathkeeper has a shaft that displays two hearts, the handle bearing two angel wings in contrast to Oblivion's bat wings. The teeth are fashioned into the shape of the Kanji for "light" (光). The Keychain token is Kairi's Wayfinder charm, a star sewn together from Thalassa Shells of Destiny Islands. When summoned, the Keyblade emerges in a bright, yellowish-white light.
- Equipment:
- - Keychains: Sora has all of the Keychains that are mandatory from the adventure of Kingdom Hearts II, as well as the Fenrir Keychain and some from the Sleeping Realm in Dream Drop Distance. He also has the majority of the materials for the Ultima Weapon, but for one or two remaining.
- - Roxas' journal: Having found the journal in Ansem the Wise's study, Sora has kept it, the same one from Roxas' time in the Organization XIII. It still has mentions of Xion, but has any references to her being a Keyblade wielder, as well as any mentions of her name or gender erased as if they had never been, leaving some of the impact of her life, but not enough to be able to tell what is there without knowing what would have been said.
- Awareness: Yes, thanks to Alexander Karsath during his first adventure.
- History:
- History:
- When Sora was young, his newly born heart encountered the injured one of Ventus, the boy having been left on Destiny Islands by the elderly Master Xehanort following the separation of Ventus from his dark half, Vanitas. Sora's heart offered to help Ventus restore his own until help was no longer needed, securing a bond between them that neither was aware of.
- By the time Sora was five years old, he encountered a tall, dark haired young man (Terra) and a blue haired young woman (Aqua), two Keyblade wielders of the generation before him, on two separate occasions. Although he never spoke to Terra, only seeing him speak to Riku from afar, he did speak to Aqua. The young woman seemed to see a resemblance between her friendship with Terra and Ventus, and Sora's friendship with Riku. She told Sora to protect Riku if he ever fell into the hands of darkness, a request that Sora agreed to, but, being so young, did not fully understand, nor did he remember as he became older, simply following it regardless.
- Some time later, Sora and Riku were resting on a beach. When they were preparing to go home, Sora suddenly felt sad, and shed a single tear. At Riku's comment about someone on another world possibly reaching out, sad, wanting to reach Sora due to a connection, Sora closed his eyes, reaching out with his heart and going into a Station of Awakening. Upon reaching Ventus' broken heart within, he conversed with it, agreeing to its request to become a part of Sora's in order to make it happy, and incorporating the heart into his own.
- Ten years later, Sora was living happily with his friends, Riku and Kairi, on their home of Destiny Islands, having befriended Kairi after years being there with them from another world (Radiant Garden) from which she had been thrown. Then the Heartless invasion threw them all into an adventure that led to meting new friends and trying to find eachother once more. After defeating the leader of these Heartless, a man who called himself 'Ansem' and sending Kairi back home, Sora and his new friends Donald Duck, a court mage of Disney Castle, and Goofy, a captain of the same place, followed a dog named Pluto to a large castle. Castle Oblivion, as it was called, had roomed of pure white, but the trio completely forgot all that transpired within it, waking up in a mansion one year later.
- They met a boy about Sora's age named Alexander Karsath, who told them that their adventures had been games in his universe. He knew all that happened, and helped them to defeat a group of bodies with minds of their own but not hearts called Nobodies, the group itself called Organization XIII. Most members were killed (save for Axel [who regained his heart] and Roxas [who incorporated into an audible presence within Sora's mind]), and Sora met up with Riku once more. The adventure Alexander called 'Kingdom Hearts II' has been completed, and Sora's Heartless and Nobody troubles are over. Or so it seemed.
- When the Interference returned to Destiny Island asking for the help of Sora, Riku, and Kairi to protect his sister Erica Karsath, the three accepted his request, living through the game "Fullmetal Alchemist II: Curse of the Crimson Elixer" in the world of Amestris. Several of their experiences in that universe were kept mostly quiet by the new Internal Interferences, for very personal reasons, but the results amount to the destruction of Erica into a Heartless and Nobody (the former having been destroyed by Alex) and the defeat of the Heartless of the Apprentice of Ansem known as Dilan. After a short time resting in Amestris while Alexander took the Fullmetal Alchemist protagonists on another adventure, their "real world" friend returned the Destiny Islands natives to their world, explaining what had gone on during his journey through the world of Chrono Trigger, including the defeat of Aeleus' Heartless and acquiring new abilities of his own.
- After some time on his homeworld, Sora met another Internal Interference, by the name of Gregory Zivaku. Together with him, another Internal Interference named Kynthia Usagi, and later Kairi, the Keyblader traveled worlds he had visited previously and ones he had not. He gained abilities and lost them, and received unwanted surgery from a crazed surgeon on one occasion, still having several still-healing scars to prove it. Following a very traumatic experience in an event commonly known to the people who remembered it as "the War of Heaven and Hell", an event that was erased from existence but not memory and included the death and eventual revival of Sora himself, Kairi returned to Destiny Islands to escape the trauma, and Greg and Kynthia, officially a couple and not afraid to show it a bit more publicly than some would have liked, separated from him to go out together. The Kingdom Hearts protagonist stayed with Greg's Gummi Ship, the Redemption, until he was informed by several sources that the ship's owner had killed three people, all Interferences and one of them his own younger brother. When the killer returned to his ship at last, alone and emotionally broken for reasons that neither of them would say directly, he agreed to drop his only remaining friend off at Destiny Islands once more, and told Sora that it was for the best that they ended contact with each other until he somehow managed to redeem himself. Leaving his only extra weapon he had gained, a Holy-infused Halo 3-era Magnum pistol, on the Gummi Ship and somehow losing his Fable Fireball spell upon departure, the Keyblade-wielder left his good friend, hoping that he would indeed find redemption.
- Not so, as it turned out. Some time later, after a long time away with Kairi and Riku, looking over the letter he had received from King Mickey, Sora was found by two Interferences, both familiar. Isaac Zivaku, the atoned brother of Greg, was somewhat older, and looked different, but told of Greg's death, as well as the deaths of several other Interferences along the way. Alexander Karsath was older, with sharper ears, having been through the tortures of Haven City that Ephiram, his future from the War, had told Sora about. The Original Interference told his friend of the destruction of Joumae, Roxas' old friend, and of the destruction of the Heartless of Even, one more of the Apprentices alongside Aeleus and Dilan before them. In spite of the pain, the Keyblader went off, albeit forgetting to tell Riku or Kairi about his departure.
- Going to Twilight Town, in the old mansion, Sora read various books there, trying to find anything he could to help with the letter he had received from the King. With the help of Alexander, he found Roxas' diary, a book that showed, with the help of some deleted files, the existence of Xion, the Replica who had once been a semi-member of the Organization XIII. Sora decided to keep the diary, however, at Roxas' request.
- A short time later, Sora came back to the Keyblade Graveyard, having been there once before to face off against the Lingering Sentiment of Terra. There, he fought with a being known as a "Ghost" called a Phantom, a kind of complete Somebody that had been corrupted by darkness following the shower of hearts caused by the destruction of the synthetic Kingdom Hearts. The Phantom in particular was a corruption of a Samurai Nobody, irritating Roxas. With the help of his friend, Kalas, Sora managed to fight it off, along with "Thetan" Ghosts caused by the corruption of completed Creepers. He followed this up by helping Kalas to seal the Keyhole of his own world, followed by going out on his own once more, forgiving Kalas for the rudeness they had between them upon the first time they had met.
- Some time later, he found Naito Zivaku (the son of Greg from the future) and the Sneaselmorph known as Jasmine, as well as several others such as reuniting with Audrey Jones, seeing Isaac, and meeting Cheryl "Heather" Mason once more in the world of God of War, having helped Kratos of the same world defeat Lakhesis for training. He told Naito of Greg's death, and, upon seeing him run away in rage at Isaac and despair at his situation, followed him with Jasmine to the world of Aselia, Greg's homeworld.
- After helping him to calm down, they brought him to the present day of Guardia, where they had a little fun at the Millennial Fair's remaining games before running into Kairi, who was not happy that Sora had left her behind. However, in order to calm her, Sora and Roxas both asked Naminé (within Kairi) about Xion, with her explaining a little, but not much, having accidentally kept some of the memory of her out of guilt. Not long after, they fought with a creature known as a "Preta", another of the Ghosts. In the fight, Sora ended up reaching Anti Form, destroying the Preta with extreme prejudice before managing to calm down, afraid of the Anti Form. Following a brief encounter with the Phantom again, Sora left the others, seeing them as being okay now, and Kairi wanting to develop her skills on her own.
- Not long after, he came back to the Keyblade Graveyard, trying to find anything he could about why it was there. There he met a monochrome, armored individual who called himself "Vanitas", and fought him with a Keyblade of his own, using dirty tactics and mocking Sora for even thinking that he was a Keyblade Master. Being knocked out, Sora was brought to Traverse Town by Isaac after being saved by him. Meeting with Alex (who was borrowing the Stormfall Keyblade from the records in Radiant Garden) and Kairi again, Sora also saw Riku (who showed him a book called "Xehanort's Report" that Alex had given him about Master Xehanort) and Greg, who he was overjoyed to see was okay. With Alexander's help and the report, Sora found out the truth of Ventus and why Vanitas was seeking him out, apparently in vengeance for his own demise. When Vanitas struck again, however, the group still barely held him off, with him escaping and dragging a surprised Kairi through a portal with him. The group finally met up with him once more in Radiant Garden, with Naminé having been taken into Vanitas through an earlier battle, and the masked boy having gained a proto-X-blade in the process. Finally defeating him and freeing Naminé to go back to Kairi's mind, the group (along with the Radiant Garden Restoration Committee, who had come to help alongside Lea [the restored Axel]) destroyed him. However, Sora and the others did hear his last, laughing words before he fell apart, the destruction of the X-blade prototype opening the "Cavern of Remembrance" in the side of Hollow Bastion: "It never hurts to have a backup." After this fight, Alex went back and gave back the Stormfall (having seemed familiar to Vanitas, and caused false memories to pop up in his head), and Riku took the Keychain for the Void Gear, Vanitas' Keyblade.
- Sora was soon called by Yen Sid, to take a Mark of Mastery exam: an ancient rite of passage that was used when there were other Keyblade wielders to prove themselves as full fledged Keyblade Masters. He was accompanied by his friends Riku, Kairi, and Audrey Jones. Together, they were tasked with entering the Realm of Sleep, and unlocking the seven Sleeping Keyholes to free the never before seen worlds within, and bring them back into the Realm of Light where they belonged. However, the four were separated after unlocking Destiny Island's Sleeping Keyhole, leaving Sora with only Audrey, who had appeared in Traverse Town, due to not being able to travel back in time to Destiny Islands, because she was not there at its destruction.
- Sora awoke in Traverse Town, and soon found Audrey, who had Dropped directly there. As it turned out, they were in completely new clothes that were a mixture of their older ones with a silver X on the front, and immediately went searching for Riku and Kairi, though they instead ran into Neku Sakuraba. After Neku explained the concept of Dream Eaters once more along with a "Game" he had to win and find his partner for, he led the duo to the Third District, where a figure in a familiar black cloak attacked. Although Sora and Audrey tried to help (in spite of Neku saying he had brought them to the hooded figure intentionally), but quickly pass out. Upon awakening and discussing the apparent betrayal (which all things considered, Sora didn't have a problem with so long as Neku didn't want them hurt), they went further into the town, finding two entirely new districts. They found a little girl by the name of "Rhyme", who helped search for Neku, and, upon finding him, accepted his apology when he gave it upon arrival. When a new group of hooded figures appeared in place of Rhyme and summoned a gigantic Dream Eater, the two Interferences defeated it, then found a transparent Riku and Kairi (also in new clothes) fighting a hooded figure of their own. Unable to communicate despite their best efforts, the two met with Joshua, another new boy from this Realm, and learned that this world was split in two; Sora and Audrey were in one half, with Kairi and Riku in the other. Not long after, using Sora's own Drop and Audrey's Dream Magic, the two Intereferences Dropped into the next world in their journey.
- Their next visit was to the world of La Cité des Cloches, that of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame". Aiding Quasimodo, Esmeralda, and Captain Phoebus after being accused of being "gypsies" for their odd clothing, Sora and Audrey helped defeat Judge Frollo and a Dream Eater that had invaded due to his internal darkness. Once they managed to convince Quasimodo to live his life on his own, free from Frollo's constraints, they found the dark figure again, the one in the cloak. As he removed his cloak, they saw him as someone completely new, with yellow eyes, tanned skin, and white hair, but no pointy ears like others they'd known. He called Sora a hypocrite, since while he freed one prisoner, he kept others himself. Though this irritated him, what truly shocked him was that, for the briefest instant, he could see and hear Vanitas, that boy, beside the man. This version, however, had red and black armor, and yellow eyes, the helmet off and shadows rising from his body, having Sora's face rather than the bizarre version of Kairi's. The apparent revival just enraged Sora, who tried to ask what was going on and why he was back, but the boy was gone as soon as he had come, Audrey, beside Sora, not even seeming to have seen anything but the white haired man, even as he left before they could fight him. Sora, still angered and confused, opened the second Keyhole of Sleep, and they went to their next world.
- The duo touched down in The Grid, a world related to the one from which Ansem the Wise had copied Space Paranoids. Escaping from several Black Guard security programs, they eventually found the program known as Rinzler, who nearly fought them, but ran away before he could do so on the orders of another. Almost immediately after, they met the program known as Quorra and the father and son Kevin and Sam Flynn, Kevin Flynn being the creator of the Grid. The group informed them that Rinzler was in fact a brainwashed Tron, which Sora, as the friend of Space Paranoids' version of Tron, was horrified by. However, he, along with Audrey, agreed to go and look for Tron's source code, the way to free him and turn him to normal. On the way, Quorra noted that program memories didn't work like human ones, and that trying to talk things out would not necessarily lead to him being saved if they saw him again. Leaving with Quorra, they were eventually separated from her by Rinzler upon reaching "the Rectifier", the flagship of the world's villain, CLU 2.0. Not long after that, they met with the strange man in the black cloak once more, along with Xemnas, the once-defeated leader of the Organization XIII. As Xemnas explained, Quorra did have a point. He said that programs do not gain hearts by making connections with others. Furthermore, since there is no heart to reach here, he and Audrey must be dreaming. Furthermore, it was impossible to tell at this stage if he himself had his own memories, or if they were simply the memories of someone else that had imposed upon him.
- Through the confusion and anger, the two villains left, and CLU's guards managed to capture Sora and Audrey, forcing them into the Game Arena against Rinzler. Although Audrey was kept outside of the box-like arena at first, she managed to make her way in as Sora defeated his friend's version from here, using his Keyblade, rather than the source code they had not found, to free Tron of the control of CLU 2.0. When an enraged CLU tried to kill Sora, Tron blocked the thrown disc, which ricocheted until it broke the ground beneath him to the world below. Due to Audrey's Interference, however, the broken floor did not cause Tron to fall out of sight, as she instead managed to grab his hand and pull him up. Still, CLU tried to fight, and, knowing that they could not defeat him, Tron broke the floor between them, and, using a Grid baton, tackled the villain into it, morphing the baton into an aircraft known as a Light Jet and flying off into the distance (CLU's own Jet in pursuit) as Quorra arrived. Acknowledging their friendship, Quorra noted that perhaps she was wrong, and programs could make those connections; they just did so in their own ways. That done, Sora thanked Audrey, and they went on their way, relieved that this Tron was, for the moment, okay.
- The next world was Prankster's Paradise, the world of Pinocchio, Jiminy Cricket, and Geppetto. The duo noticed that, like Tron, the people in this world didn't actually know them. However, this time, it was due to the world being in a dream of its final days before its fall to the Heartless. As they worked on their way to helping Jiminy Cricket to find Pinocchio, the two once again found Xemnas and the unknown man once they had some time without them. This time, Xemnas talked about how the idea of Pinocchio, an artificial being, having a heart was fundamentally absurd. However, upon being told that Pinocchio was different from a Nobody, the Superior of the In Between said that Sora and Audrey were not so different from Nobodies themselves, confusing them long enough for the enemies to once again escape.
- After finding and conversing with Pinocchio, as well as talking about his state (having the ears and tail of a "jackamule"), Sora and Audrey then found out from the Blue Fairy (who had given Pinocchio his living form) that Pinocchio's "father", Geppetto, had been swallowed by the giant, familiar whale Monstro. Using the bizarre physics of the world's dream form, the two Interferences, along with Jiminy and (until he was lost to them) Pinocchio, followed into the water after the whale, eventually ending up chasing a flying Dream Eater on top of Monstro's floating form in a bubble and fighting it off until they were crashed down on solid land elsewhere. By their estimates, this was the point at which Jiminy, Pinocchio, Geppetto, and Monstro were thrust out of the world as it fell to darkness. That discussed, they went on to the next world, using another Keyhole of Sleep.
- Following that world, the two once again dropped down into Traverse Town. They met with Shiki, Neku's partner (with Sora accidentally very much embarrassing Neku in the process), and, with Joshua's help, managed to use the mirror world mechanics of the world to Riku and Kairi to trap a Dream Eater summoner known as the Spellican. Although it escaped, they agreed to defeat it for the Traverse Town people (really just memories of those from their world of Shibuya except for Joshua, the only original of them), so they could beat their "Reaper's Game", a terminology that Sora and Audrey found very disturbing following their experiences in the War, but not enough to comment on. After Neku invited them to come to Shibuya some day, they left once more.
- The next world was one from the King's past, the Country of the Musketeers. Here, he, Donald, and Goofy were the "Royal Musketeers", and although Mickey was a Keyblader, he was there undercover to protect the Princess, Minnie, his future wife. After Mickey (who Sora had trouble not calling the King) helped them as they took care of a group of Dream Eaters while Goofy and Donald were incapable of helping, the future king invited them to help in his goal of protecting the Princess. However, as they tried to transport her, the princess was captured by the "Beagle Boys" while Sora and Audrey were fighting a "Tyrant Rex" Dream Eater, the Boys being minions of Captain Pete, the cat who had ostensibly "commissioned" the Musketeers in the first place, being evil even at that point. Through many troubles on the world and one case of falling to unconsciousness, the two visitors to the world helped to save Princess Minnie (with some of Riku and Kairi's magic from elsewhere saving them from a falling trap in the meantime), and, after arresting Captain Pete, the three Musketeers, as well as Audrey and Sora themselves, were knighted as true Musketeers from the grateful princess, although that knighting possibly did not matter much once they went into the waking world.
- After dropping to the next world, the duo found themselves in a dream version of the Mysterious Tower (Symphony of Sorcery), back when the King was, again, not yet a king, but rather Yen Sid's apprentice, perhaps earlier than the previous world. Through his difficulties with not calling Mickey the King, Sora and Audrey saw as the Spellican, once again with them, knocked Mickey out of Yen Sid's magical book and into his chamber and chair once more, knocking him unconscious and binding him in sleep in the process, unable to move. With some discussion with the future king telepathically at his request (who seemed to think Sora a Keyblader's apprentice for his blade, Mickey himself the "sorceror's apprentice"), the two found that they needed a "Sound Idea" to break the spell on the book in which the Spellican remained, unable to get in by brute force or other kinds of magic. Entering a new musical score with the help of Sora's Keyblade and Audrey's Dream Magic, the two entered the score.
- After fighting their way through the Pastoral Symphony and finding the Sound Idea, they again came across the strange, black-cloaked man, alone this time. Although they kept asking after his identity, he merely asked if they still thought this was all part of the test, and called them both fools for believing they were still in the worlds' dreams instead of their own, perhaps to scare them. That said, he told them to meet him in a "place beyond sleep", and left once more.
- Upon returning, the Sound Idea couldn't seem to be composed correctly, not seeming to be able to banish the darkness on the other musical score for "The Sorcerer's Apprentice". However, with the help of Riku and Kairi (which Sora even expected at this point), they managed to find a second Sound Idea with them, mixing the two of them together into "Dearly Beloved", a strong enough Sound Idea to break the seal on the score. The two visitors to the world then entered the score itself, defeating the Spellican with effort and freeing Mickey from his endless sleep. Although he had to go and clean up a very large spill of water made during his time semi-comatose, he thanked them, and they went on their way.
- Sora and Audrey, to their surprise, next appeared in The World That Never Was, a world that evidently had been forced into sleep after the defeat of Xemnas and the Organization XIII, and had not physically recovered, if the decrepit nature of the buildings was any indication. They had sealed the seven Sleeping Keyholes, and therefore should have finished Yen Sid’s test, but instead they were still in the clothes they had gained upon entering the Sleeping Realm, and were therefore still in the dream. Suddenly, Xigbar appeared, telling the two that they had been lead by “them” the entire time, and that this had never been a test, instead that a new Organization had been leading them into a trap all along. Ten more figures in cloaks appeared as Xigbar summoned them by firing his arrow guns in a circle around the two of them, one of them turning out to be the mysterious silver-haired man from before, who forced the two to Drop. Sora was separated from Audrey, and forced to relive events from the past through a different perspective, followed and guided the entire time by that mysterious cloaked man, but too weak to fight him, only talking to him.
- Through their discussion, Sora learned who the dark figure was: This was Xehanort from many decades into the past, before he had become a Heartless and Nobody, before all that had occurred. He also learned that, through the use of a form of time travel involving reliving events that a version of the same person had once seen (that is to say, himself, a past version of himself, a Nobody, a Heartless, or whatever it may be), enforcing a kind of destiny on the person and perhaps changing events, but not remembering having done so when returning to the traveler's own time unless it was after the point to which the travel was initially. Among other things, this Young Xehanort spoke of "the datascape" and other worlds, indicating that, as the appearances of himself and Xemnas in many areas indicated, Sora and Audrey had been tracked all of this time for a plan that Xehanort in all of his incarnations (all of which had formed this new Organization in the first place) for a new plan that had been in motion from even before the moment Sora left Destiny Islands.
- Eventually, as the memories caught up to his first time in The World That Never Was, Sora managed to chase after the memories of Donald and Goofy, off into the dream and away from the Young Xehanort. Not hearing Riku or Kairi's shouts for him not to be "chasing dreams" well enough, he found someone who he believed to be Naminé. Before he could ask her where Kairi was, how she was here, or even thank her as he wanted to so long ago and kept forgetting to do, Sora saw her transform into a girl who looked like Kairi when she was fourteen, with black hair and a black cloak. She looked upset, and he cried in spite of not knowing why, letting her go as he wiped away the tear. Assuming her to be Xion, he chased after her through several areas of this ruined world, eventually finding Roxas instead.
- When he found his Nobody, he confronted him about what was going on. Although the Key of Destiny gave no hint that he knew all of it himself, he did admit that Sora was him, and therefore knew what he felt. When Sora rejected that, saying that Roxas deserved to be his own person. When Roxas smiled in return, saying "that's why it has to be you", he then gave Sora all of his memories, incorporating into his body in the dream for his own purposes and causing Sora to feel even more aggression and anger over the Organization than ever before, knowing everything Roxas, Xion, and Axel had gone through. With that, he went onward.
- After seeing an illusion of Riku and Kairi that then transformed into a tall, dark haired man (Terra) and a blue haired woman he recognized from his youth as a four year old (Aqua), he himself seeing himself as someone who looked like Roxas with strange clothes, all of them having some kind of silver shoulderplate on the left shoulder. The hallucination stopped, however, and he continued on, still ignoring calls from Kairi and Riku in his head until he came to see Xigbar and Xemnas once more.
- There, they told him of the true purpose of Organization XIII, of the new one that had been determined. As Sora had discovered from the emotions of the memories he had been given by Roxas, Nobodies did indeed have emotions, gained from interacting with others. However, if they rejected those emotions, a new heart would not grow. Indeed, many of the Organization XIII members that were initially there did have hearts, or at least were starting to form them. Sora's purpose in Castle Oblivion, the one he had forgotten, had been to essentially get rid of the failures to Xehanort's schemes, as had Riku at the same time. Sora was suitably enraged by this revelation, but even moreso by the reason why Xemnas lied about the truth of Nobodies: so that, by a link to Xehanort, he could infuse a copy of Xehanort's own heart into worthy vessels until he had thirteen. Xigbar himself admitted to being "half-Xehanort", and the two of them ridiculed Sora for being the wielder of a Keyblade only because he had the heart of someone who actually deserved it. However, he said that even if he didn't deserve it, he was proud to be connected to the hearts of those who do, frightening Xigbar temporarily into leaving, and causing Xemnas to go into a fight with him.
- Following the end of that fight, although he had managed to defeat (though not destroy) Xemnas, Sora still collapsed in exhaustion, darkness rising from his body as his heart weakened from the shock and trauma of all that he had endured in this current journey. The Young Xehanort came to him, explaining the silver X on the clothing of himself and Audrey, the same as the ones in the Organization XIII's original incarnations' names. Aside from being connected to the X-blade, it was known as the Recusant's Sigil, and was a way to mark where Sora and Audrey were so that they could track them. He also noted that Sora would be their thirteenth vessel, and that his heart and mind would fall into an endless sleep while his body would be used for a thirteenth Xehanort to complete part of their goal, which he, however, did not state.
- After Young Xehanort fell from sight, Sora passed into unconsciousness in the darkness. However, his connection to Ventus allowed the similarly comatose Keyblader to lend him his Keyblade Armor, a defense against the darkness as he lay on his Station of Awakening, unable to wake up as his body was taken to Where Nothing Gathers, the meeting chamber of the Organization XIII in any incarnation so far.
- Riku and Kairi, as it turns out, had been on a Drop within Sora and Audrey's hearts themselves respectively, having been concerned for them following seeing the cloaked figure in Destiny Islands. Therefore, they had been "Spirits" within their dreams, countered by "Nightmares". After several battles, and finding this out, they came to Where Nothing Gathers in Sora's heart (Kairi having made it over a gap due to her concern by accident in the darkness that overtook Audrey), finding the True Organization XIII, or at least most of it. After, with the help of King Mickey, fighting Young Xehanort to a standstill (far more powerful than anyone else they had faced), they met with the most ancient and elderly of the Xehanorts, Master Xehanort. After revealing his true plans with the X-blade, coupled with the arrival of Donald and Goofy as well, Lea, of all people, showed up and saved Sora's heart from total corruption, helping them to escape the world (without unlocking it from sleep at all due to Sora's comatose form).
- As all but Audrey and Sora awakened, Kairi and Riku both entered the hearts that they had spent the most time in the journey within, Audrey and Sora respectively, with Yen Sid's advice about how to enter a heart to free from sleep with the Keyblade as learned through the journey and available in the waking world from then on. Sora's body was still trapped within the armor, and, using darkness, had been turned to a Nightmare of sorts. However, with his help, he managed to be freed from that form. As Riku learned soon after, Xion, Ventus, and Roxas were all still within his heart, along with a data copy of Ansem the Wise (not reachable) alongside the scientist's research data that he had hidden there. Awakening Sora and getting the data, Riku, Kairi, Audrey, and the rest, all awakened, had a party for a short time in joy to be alive and awake, and Riku and Kairi told of Master Xehanort's revelations.
- As Audrey and Sora learned, Master Xehanort needed thirteen Seekers of Darkness and seven Guardians of Light to clash in order to make the X-blade, but the original light of the X-blade had been severed into seven pieces, one in each Princess of Heart, causing their purity of heart. Sora was to be the last darkness, but Lea had stopped that, in doing so revealing Isa or Saïx to be another Xehanort, explaining his cruelty. The Seekers would attack the Princesses to plunge the worlds into darkness, so the "Lights" had to fight the "Darknesses" in any case, making the Keyblade War that Xehanort had sought for so long seemingly inevitable, and Audrey in place as a fourteenth member in waiting for them to reach out to for the real world, with Alexander Karsath or his sister's Nobody as a fallback plan if not. However, it seemed as though, due to Kairi not being followed by anyone else, it seemed as though Xehanort did not expect her at all. Therefore, Yen Sid opted to train her as a true Keyblade Master soon, though she had learned much in this journey so far.
- In truth, Sora had failed his test, having fallen to darkness in The World That Never Was in spite of fulfilling all else. Riku, on the other hand, had passed, being named a true Keyblade Master. Sora opted to go into the Sleeping Worlds once more some day to retrain and earn his Mark of Mastery, but was still overjoyed for Riku, and even more surprised to hear and see that even Lea had become a Keyblade Wielder, albeit not knowing how to use one reliably yet.
- Sora thanked the others for all of their help, and thought it good to try to find Alex and let him in on all of the news they would need to prepare for. However, they did go their separate ways, with Mickey going back to his castle, Donald and Goofy roaming around the worlds near the Tower, and Lea going back to Radiant Garden to see the revived, recompleted, and seemingly kinder Aeleus and Ienzo, along with the still sleeping Even and Dilan and the Radiant Garden Restoration Committee.
- Following that departure from the Mysterious Tower, Sora found out very distressing news, along with the others. Kynthia, Greg's girlfriend and Naito's mother, had been irrevocably killed in her world. Naito and his sister Nótt did exist now, cared for by Greg and his own mother, Kira, but it had hurt many people.
- For now, however, Sora is trying to keep helping anyone he can, trying to keep himself in fighting condition for a new Mark of Mastery, or perhaps to fight the true Organization XIII without the status of a true Master.
- Sample Post:
- (The following takes place during the final level with Sora in the time of Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, and has mentions of how things went there.)
- Sora was lost.
- He didn't know how much time had passed since the last time he had seen that younger Xehanort. Returning to the bizarre version of this Dark City, partially destroyed from the battle he, Alexander, and Riku had had with Xemnas, he had still been with Audrey, having been Dropping with her for all of the previous Sleeping Worlds after the issue with Destiny Islands where he had been separated from Kairi and Riku.
- He thought he'd found Naminé, but she seemed to transform into a dark haired girl who looked like Kairi in a black cloak akin to the Organization XIII, then run away, leaving him surprised. He didn't know why, but he had begun crying as she left, having to take a moment for himself. However, upon chasing in the direction she had gone again, he had only run into more Nightmares. Although he had managed to fight them off, it didn't really help him to get to her.
- Finally, however, his chasing led to something. He came into what appeared to be a courtyard, or rather a cliff. In this bizarre world, it seemed hard to tell the difference. "Hey, wait up!" The Keyblader dismissed his weapon in a flash of light from where it had been on his right shoulder from the previous fight, and stopped, standing behind a figure in a black cloak who was about his height, the hood pulled up, and the person facing away from him. He had an idea as to who this was, judging from the knowledge he had obtained before, back in the computer in Twilight Town.
- "Who are you? Are you... Xion?" he asked, still not sure about how to pronounce the name.
- A hand over the mouth, apparently to keep from something. A laugh? Sora frowned at that. This was no time for comedy, and he knew it. The hands then came to the sides of the hood, pulling it back, dropping it behind the boy as he turned to face the Keyblader.
- Short, spiked blonde hair. Blue eyes. Fair skin. This person was very familar to Sora indeed, but he just grinned a bit rather than greet him. It wasn't really necessary, anyway.
- The brown-haired Keyblader was shocked. "You're... Roxas."
- A roll of the eyes, as if that were obvious, and Roxas simply let him figure the rest out on his own.
- "But... how can you be here? I heard you through the other Sleeping Worlds. Am I dreaming?"
- A black-gloved hand up, shaking side to side. More or less, it seemed to say. But not quite there yet.
- A deep breath to keep calm from Sora now. "Come on, say something! I know you like to make fun of me enough. Explain it, then!"
- The grin faded slightly as the former Key of Destiny spoke. "This could have been the other way around."
- An eyebrow was raised in confusion. "...huh?"
- Roxas just grinned slightly again. "You still do need my help, explaining even the simple things. But it really has to be you."
- Now the confusion, not to mention the annoyance at the insult, was made plain. "What do you mean?"
- The left hand reached to Roxas' chest, stopping before it. "There are so many hearts connected to yours." His eyes closed for a moment, then opened again as he let the arm down. "You're me, so you can feel what I felt."
- Sora just sighed, looking down and shaking his head. "...No." Only then did he look straight at him, defiant to his words, eyes narrowed, arms coming up to his sides in gesture. "Roxas, you're you." He looked down again, seeming upset. "We're not the same." At that, he looked to the Nobody's eyes again. "I wanted to tell you that. That you deserve as much as I do to be your own person."
- Roxas gasped at that, eyes widening... but then smirked, relaxing again. "Sora, see?" He leaned forward. "That's why it has to be you." He stepped forward, taking Sora's hands. "Now hang on, there's something I have to do. Someone told me to let you have this."
- Sora tilted his head in confusion. "Wha--?"
- Suddenly, he could see it. All of it. He could see a flash of light... and then everything seemed to bombard his mind at once, his body shaking and his eyes straining, but unable to move, unable to look away, even as Roxas seemed to vanish within that light.
- They seemed to come in the form of bubbles, with pictures and scenes within them. Three hundred and fifty eight days of conflict, of anguish, of friendship and tearing apart, of betrayal and pain, all coming down on him at once. Of those last seven days in the simulation, of the comments of Darkness in Zero, known also as Ansem the Wise.
- He could see Xaldin, Saïx, and many other members, hurting him every step of the way. He could see Xemnas above it all, working with Saïx to make his life miserable for his own devices. He could see Axel, his friendship and his rage both.
- He hated them. Hated the Organization for what it had made Roxas do, hated Ansem the Wise for what he had done, although he did forgive him from his attempt to atone, hated all of the people who had manipulated Roxas, had manipulated a section of himself as far as they could tell at the same time as they manipulated Sora in Castle Oblivion, as Alex had told him and he had confirmed here.
- Finally... finally it stopped. The light faded, the visions stopping. It seemed like forever, but was likely not long. He took a breath, letting himself calm down as he looked down... and saw that Roxas was no longer there. Had he incorporated into him within this somehow? If so, he wasn't saying anything. Not even an apology, or anything of the sort. His arms came down as he sighed. "Not again..."
- He also noticed his clothes, having changed back to his Sleeping Worlds ones again. When had they changed, to make that difference? Maybe when the young Xehanort had come to him?
- Xehanort. He hated him as well, in all of his incarnations. "Did they cause all this pain?"
- The hand curled into a fist, the other doing the same, and he threw them out to his sides, elbows in, as he screamed to the sky with a greater aggression than he had previously known.
- "What do you want me to see?!"
- Roxas had done as DiZ had asked so long ago. He had given Sora his rage, his memories, his emotions as a whole, as he had found his way inside, renewed as a being of his own. Of course, Sora was still too nice for his own good, but at least he would now understand both sides that they held.
- And perhaps he would learn the truth about what those emotions truly meant.
