  1. [History]
  2. For as long as Trollkind has been keeping written records of Brooding Caverns and their yield, Mutant Trolls have been culled as Grubs to ensure a stronger genetic stock for future generations. Even despite this regime, certain Castes tend to have more prevalence for Mutation than others and simply culling every Grub of a susceptible Caste without exterminating them as a whole is unsustainable.
  3.
  4. The stigma around Mutants has only been enforced, encouraged, and perpetuated by the Imperial Fleet with things like monetary reward or fame for bringing Mutants to the attention of the Empire, or even going as far as to personally cull Mutants on sight.
  5.
  6. [The Trollian War]
  7. Mutant Cullings were relaxed somewhat during the Trollian War to allow those with non-detrimental Mutations to serve in the Fleet as long as they were strictly upheld to a life of abstinence and non-Quadding. While this seemed to be heavily moderated at the beginning of the shift, strict observations and enforcements seemed to wane and lessen as time dragged on and the warfront became more of a losing battle.
  8.
  9. For the 257 years Trollkind was at war with Humankind, Mutants were allowed to Serve, much to the dismay of Hemoloyalists and the majority of Lineage Purists, as Soldiers to the Imperial Fleet but this temporary lift on the Mutant Ban would end just as suddenly as it began.
  10.
  11. Within 2 years of the Retreat of Trollian Forces from Human-controlled Space the bolstered ranks of Mutant Imperial Fleet were deemed as ‘no longer necessary’ by Her Imperious Condescension and Mutant Cullings once again had a resurgence. Many Highbloods engaged in the open sport of Mutant Hunting now that they no longer had an active War to quell their Highblooded Rage, though this bloodlust wasn’t shared amongst the rest of the Hemospectrum.
  12.
  13. Mutant Sanctuaries were hosted by The Signless Sectoral to protect Mutants and harbor them away from Imperial Culling, and the fad of capturing Mutants as ‘Trophies’ became a symbol of one’s power and owed respect.
  14.
  15. [Current Day]
  16. The culling of Mutant Grubs is once again enforced within the Empire, though many of The Signless Sectoral have infiltrated Brooding Caverns as workers and Grub Tenderers and routinely disobey these orders.
  17.
  18. Adult Mutants are legally considered Cullable, unless in the case of ‘Trophies’ who must be left alone as they belong to another Troll and it would be considered Hemorebellious to disobey ownership, even in the case of culling Mutants. Trophies are forced to wear accessory items (collars, bangles, banners, etc) that feature their Trophy Holder’s Symbol on them and must not be seen in public without their Trophy Holder, or else they are considered ‘Fair Game’ and cullable on-sight.
  19.
  20. While the majority of Physical and Medical Mutations are considered Cullable, certain Castes are Exempt from Mutation Culling and, in fact, do not even receive Official Mutant Designation from The Empire as a whole. The Exempt Castes are as follows.:
  21.
  22. - Olivebloods with Physical Deformities (Slit Pupils, Tails, Cleft Lips, etc)
  23. - Tealbloods with Sensory Defects (Blindness, Deafness, or the inability to Taste/Smell)
  24. - Ceruleanbloods with Eye-Based Mutations (Multiple Eyes, Multiple Pupils)
  25. - Violetbloods with off-colored Hair (Streaks of Blood Color, Solidly Blood Color)
