- >October.
- >It was morning and the bear trio were up to the usual in the mornings; Panda would hopelessly look for a match on his phone, Icebear would cook breakfast and Grizz would show his deep appreciation by eating it. nothing was out of place, well beside the unusual cool climate outside.
- >Grizz smacked his lips and sighed in relief as the eggs and bacon made their way down. "Dude, thank you for the breakfast, you really cooked the crap out of those eggs."
- >Ice bear merely nods at the compliment and takes a rewarding sip from his coffee.
- >Panda reaches for his plate never taking his eyes off the empty notification page from his phone.
- >"Hey, what happened to my crêpe?" Panda asks irritated.
- >"Sorry PanPan you were taking too long and I just couldn't help myself. Weird, I'm still hungry for more.."
- >Icebear quickly dissolves any potential conflict and puts down another plate of crêpes in front of Panda and hands Grizz another helping of eggs and bacon.
- >"Thanks bro, I feel like I haven't eaten for days." says Grizz as he stuffs another spoonful of eggs down the hatch.
- >"Uhh Grizz, if you keep going as you are. you going to get fat." Pouts Panda as he takes small bites from his dish.
- >"Panda. we're bears, we could have about half our body weight in fat and still be perfectly healthy." says Grizz assuredly
- >"Oh, well I need to eat too you know" Uttered Panda as he cleaned the rest of his plate with a lick.
- >"Yeah I should've asked first, but its a good thing our lil bro is here to feed us." Grizz turns around only to hear Icebear cleaning in the other room.
- >And with that the rest of the day goes by uneventful.
- >But as the days go by, Grizz's sudden carving for food increases by the minute as the temperature gradually goes down.
- >November.
- >"Alright, everybod- panda. put on a sweater. its gotten chillier, don't need you catching a cold." remarked Grizz.
- >"Its been getting awfully cold for San Fransisco hasn't it Grizz?" Panda slips on a knitted sweater made for him by Icebear
- >Grizz slides on a scarf since the sweaters he has, have apparently "Shrunken" and won't fit him because of that.
- >After looking at himself in the mirror Grizz responds. "Yeah, but we can't let a little wind and cold air get to-."
- >"Ice bear sees snow."
- >As soon as Grizz and Panda turn their heads, the door to the cave is already open. with a sudden rush of cold air sweeping the cave.
- >Ice bear is lying on the snow covered ground joyfully making snow angels and generally enjoying the white powdery substance around him.
- >"It must've snowed while we were sleeping last night." said Grizz as he takes in the scenery. "Snow." Grizz repeats to himself, never seeing such a phenomenon in person.
- >Panda quickly looks at his phone for a logical explanation. "Hey, Grizz according to this web page. It has snowed here, its just rare when it happens. The last time was 9 years ago when it snowed in San Francisco."
- >Panda continues to blab on as Grizz is no longer listening, instead he looks at the fine ice crystals falling down with grace toward the ground. Grizz reaches out with a paw to catch one of the many unique snow particles. "Wow, so this is snow. Its much prettier then what I expected" thought Grizz to himself.
- >Grizz spaces back in and sees that Icebear is still playing in the snow and Panda is now taking pictures of the snow.
- >Grizz is suddenly overwhelmed with a sense of drowsiness and feels his eyelids even heavier. He yawns deeply with another slow blink.
- >Grizz hits the ground like a rock.
- >Still November.
- >Initially, Panda and Icebear freaked out when their big brother toppled over and quickly brought him back inside the cave.
- >"Come on Grizz, snap out of it." Spoke Panda but Grizz continued to snore lightly. it was apparent that Grizz wasn't going to wake up.
- >Panda continues to try to wake him up but to no avail, Icebear touches Panda's shoulder and briefly nods in disagreement.
- >"Icebear knows what's happening."
- >Panda looks at him with worried eyes. "He's hibernating isn't he?"
- >Icebear replies is his monotone voice, "yes"
- >"I never thought Grizz would have to hibernate. we've always been in areas where its generally warm, so I guess we never saw him burrow down for the winter."
- >Panda and Icebear stared at Grizzly as he slept soundly. Wrapped tightly in his warm blanket with softest look on his face, Grizz never looked so tranquil...
- >And with that, Panda violently flailed his paws at Grizz. "WAKE UP GRIZZ, WE NEED YOU." Panda's pathetic attempt at stirring Grizz only resulted in a small murmur from Grizz.
- >Icebear intervened and grabbed panda from behind and started to drag him out of the room all the while as Panda thrashed. "Grriiizzz. Come back t-to us!" On the way out Panda knocked a lamp off a table.
- >Icebear peeked through the door to glance one last look at Grizz before finally closing the door shut. Icebear looks at Panda who in shame was huddled down with his back to the wall.
- >Panda sighs. "Sorry, about that bro. I guess it was all too sudden and I didn't know how to act. Grizz hibernating means he won't be with us for a couple of months."
- >Icebear sits down on the floor with Panda and gives him a reassuring pat on the shoulder. Panda looks at Icebear's plain expression.
- >"well its not like he's in a coma or anything.." Joked Panda with a falter in his smile, "its just for the winter." Panda smile gets wider and responds again."Thanks for talking with me dude, I feel a lot better" Icebear simply nods in silence. Panda stands back up, so does Icebear.
- >Icebear put his paw on Panda's shoulder once more, but in a more serious motion. "Grizz must not be disturbed." States Icebear with a sincere attitude.
- >Panda faces Icebear understandably. "I won't bother Grizzly, besides its in his nature to hibernate and I can't mess with Nature." Says Panda rather convincingly.
- >Icebear takes his arm off of Panda and just stands there.
- >with split moment of awkwardness and nothing else to say about the prevalent situation, Panda speaks up. "I guess I'll be in my room then." Panda walks toward his room, leaving icebear alone in the hallway.
- >Icebear then hears the familiar sound of a door closing shut. Icebear sighs with a hint of relief. He then looks at the uncleaned living room and then back at the dirty dishes in the kitchen. Icebear darts out of the cave like a bullet and makes his way into snow paradise without a care in the world.
