  1. Season 22 (Season of the Witch)
  2. * Eris and Crow
  3. * We are collecting lucent ghosts so we can find Immaru.
  4. * Immaru is locked up in a Scorn prison, by order of Xivu.
  5. * Venus was apparently planned to come in this season but was changed to fit a “new narrative”.
  6. * We rescue Immaru, gaining his trust.
  7. * Savathun is resurrected.
  8. * Crow has a crucial role in the season thanks to his past.
  9. * Recap of Forsaken events for the new players. Important for Caydes return.
  10.  
  11. * Apparently (according to Savathûn) a sacrifice is needed in order for us to enter the portal. Was originally supposed to be us finding a macguffin (on Venus). Supposedly a Vex related artifact.
  12. * The sacrifice involves Zavala. He the decision because he no longer wants immortality. The pain of Amanda’s death is the reason for this. Source didn’t explicitly state that he would die.

  14. * Caiatl is not pleased by the Lucent alliance because of what the Hive did to her homeworld, but accepts reality.

  16. Activity is public-event based. We free trapped lucent ghosts from Wrathborn and Vex, across the system.

  18. Saladin has bounties of targets for us to defeat across the system. Bounties will drop seasonal weapons. Will be tied to unlocking a new exotic.

  23. * No new encounter, however all encounters are longer with changed mechanics. Bridge encounter revolves around getting buffs and having people cross the bridge with said buffs etc.

  26. * Crota fight has the most drastic changes.

  28. Theme of the season is 80’s horror mixed with Wrathborn.

  30. Season 23 (Season of the Exodus)
  31. * We help restore colony ships in the system (Cosmodrome, Europa and Nessus). Plays into seasonal activity.

  33. * Ada-1 has provided gear and a safe haven in the vaults for Eliksni refugees.
  34. * Slight closure to House of Light story for now, source didn’t provide anymore details.
  35.  
  36. Black Armory weapons return. Won’t have the glow effect from the Black Armory season.
  37.  
  38. Garden of Salvation is reprised.
  39.  
  40. Dungeon is currently named: Graveyard of Kings, and set in the Cosmodrome. Eramis might be final boss but source is unsure. Scorn and Fallen enemies. They are Salvation splicer loyalists on a mission to find an ancient technology, deep in the wall.

  42. Exodus Crash and The Inverted Spire are reprised with changed mechanics. Scorn will be present in Exodus Crash. Cabal in Inverted Spire are now Shadow Legion.

  44. The Citadel returns, alongside a new Iron Banner set.

  47. * 2 returning D2 strikes
  48. * At least 2 new Strikes for Final Shape or seasons after S22.
  49. * New Trials armor (99% season 22, but could be saved for post-Final Shape)
  50. * More Veil Conteinments
  51. * Traveler and Veil origin cutscene

  53. Upcoming QoL Changes:
  54. * LFG in S23.
  55. * Exotic mission rotator. Weekly pinnacle and every weekly mission can drop exotic.
  56. * Hawkmoon and DMT are removed from Xur. Replaced by purchasable Deepsight Activator (One per Week).
  57. * Gambit and Dares of Eternity will be placed in a new spot on the map (most likely after Final Shape). Will be tied to future saga, as Drifter will be a major character instead of vendor in the future.
  58. * Gambit and Dares will not get significant updates before Final Shape. Might get major loot overhauls in the future.
  59. * Enchantment Prisms will be removed. Any in your inventory will be combined into Ascendant Shards.
  60. * Enhancement Cores will be removed and replaced by the crafting XP system. You masterwork a weapon at a specific level.
  61. * All weapons can have mementos.
  62. * Changes will be made to the currencies and items in your inventory. To make things easier and less cluttered. (See what they did with seasonal engrams).
  63. * Commendations will be updated to fill more of a purpose. If you “collect” a certain amount of a specific commendation you can “guild” a set of commendations. Will be rewards tied to guilding.
  64. * Commendations will not be tied to Guardian Ranks anymore.
  65. * Power level will stay the same until Final Shape. Will be overhauled in the future.
  66. * Bungie might bring back old level system and remove power completely. Will still be a level to reach for every “expansion” to be able to play that expansions endgame content etc, but all other “Endgame” activities will not be capped.

  68. The Final Shape:
  69. * Location is called the Schism and the opening area is called: the Valley. Old locations will be present here
  70. * 8 Story missions + 3 Disciple Bosses
  71. * At least 1 new strike.
  72. * New enemy race called: Shadow. See old D1 concept art. Similar to Taken but with much more cloud VFX.
  73. * Cayde returns, acts as a guide through the Schism.
  74. * Vex and Taken are also present in the Schism.
  75. * Vex are Sol Divisive.
  76. * Main antagonist is Witness, plus additional disciple bosses.
  77.  
  78. * New Subclass: Strife (Red/Blood Orange)
  79. * Egregore, tree branches VFX. Revolves heavily around chaos/rage.
  80. * We learn Strife quite early in the campaign after “bleeding” ourselves with a pyramid artifact.
  81. * More fragments, aspects and stuff will be unlocked throughout the campaign.

  83. No information about raid, only that it takes place inside the Schism.
  84.  
  85. Beyond:
  86. * Three seasons in 2024.
  87. * 10th Anniversary Pack in Q3/4 of 2024.
  88. * No expansion in 2025. Might be 2 larger drops (like HoW, CoO, Warmind and DB) instead of 4 seasons.

  90. A trilogy of expansions are planned for 2026 and beyond:
  91. * Expansion I: Codename: Chaos
  92. * Expansion II: Codename: Path
  93. * Expansion III: Codename: Relativity
  94.  
  95. * Pitched story: Will explore the Vex and Nine and end our conflict with Xivu Arath.
  96. * Concept Art: Planets with very alien life, black hive fortress on an icy planet (could be Pluto).
  97. * Plan: To go back to the original D1 roots of not really understanding everything, with big emphasis on exploration.
  98. * Only minor concepts and pitches exist.
  99. * Expansion I will begin development in 2024.
