Except your normal junkie just ruins his own life, his family and friends lives, and maybe kills a few people. I can think of six ways to destabilize the United States in the next two years with nothing more than the resources I have available to me now. The CUI would move in, or the redneck peckerwoods would declare their little plots of racist heaven, but I could do it.”

“You're bullshitting me,” she said flatly.

“Yeah,” I said. “Three of them are pipe dreams; it would require everything being in the right place at the right time. The other three are pretty solid, and I could do all three at the same time. There's a good chance that one of them would succeed.”

I was exaggerating. There was only a sixty percent chance that I wouldn't get discovered by one thinker or another before I achieved my goals. Also, ruling the country sounded like a pain in the ass.
