  1. The night sky, so smooth in it's endless treks casting overshadowing the world below. Though the stars glittered in the night sky, and the moon grinned wickedly from it's perch. Down below in the shadows of a long forgotten grotto, a giant of a man perched over a singular glowing mushroom. Scarlet hues flickered in the shadows as they looked upon the fungi, it was so vibrant in it's natural state.
  2.
  3. A hand reached out towards it, they could feel the small traces of mana that granted the plant life. With a breath he felt outwards with his senses. Tasting the mana, noticing the uniqueness of it. How it felt so alien to him, the mana of a lower lifeform. Softly he'd reach out with his senses, gripping upon that cord of mana. Pulling, twisting, yanking it away from the mushroom and towards himself.
  4.
  5. The grotto dimmed, flickered, and went dark as the single source of light died. As the mana was jerked away there was nothing but a cruel shriveled hunk that remained. The soft glow of his eyes vanished, a blink interrupting them. It was such a small thing, yet so difficult. To taste the strings of fate, to grip them, to devour. Such things where almost impossible for him to do. Yet, he'd gained more and more experience with the hunger of ages.
  6.
  7. His mother's presence had awoken a growing desire to consume the mana in the aether. A wish that he'd always had even in the dim recesses of his youth. It was his birthright as a Neries, one of the Dreamer's chosen. From the shadows his eyes relite, as they did so the dimness faded with the chaotic light of energy. So, much energy he'd gained from the patronage of Belial. Yet, he'd not only faith for one deity.
  8.
  9. His hand clasped about the pendant he wore always, marking him a man of the faiths. With a hushed whisper he repeated the tenets to himself. Speaking over the mad thrum of Belial's blessing, he was a man of the tenets. They where the guide that would see Azreal's dream of a Utopia achieved. Given by the blessed prophet Sareen. Beacons in the shadows, guide posts amidst the throws of madness.
