- [18:24] <Ken> As the low bloods around you work out the logistics of combined telekinesis, you go over to investigate the sound on the computer. You've received a message that consists entirely of a period and nothing else from Sorano, as well as the brand new program that's up and asking for you to enter the handle of your server.
- [18:25] <Elezar> AO: May I a8k what you want now?
- [18:25] <Elezar> AO: I am bu8y 8aving my follower8 from the apo0alyp8e.
- [18:28] <Elezar> AO: May I a8k what you want now?
- [18:28] <Elezar> AO: I am bu8y 8aving my follower8 from the apo0alyp8e.
- [18:28] <Sorodin> DA: What?
- [18:29] <Sorodin> DA: Why are you pestering me?
- [18:29] <Elezar> AO: You me88aged me?
- [18:29] <Sorodin> DA: ...I don't remember if I did.
- [18:30] <Elezar> AO: Look up.
- [18:30] <Elezar> AO: You 8ent me a period.
- [18:31] <Elezar> While this is happening, Elezar panics about what handle to input, attempting to put in her own.
- [18:31] <Ken> You get an error message!
- [18:31] <Sorodin> DA: You're delusiona-
- [18:31] <Sorodin> DA: what
- [18:32] <Elezar> AO: I am unimpre88ed.
- [18:33] <Elezar> In a state of panic, Elezar inputs the first handle she sees, dubiousAttorney.
- [18:34] <Ken> Near instantly, the bed is picked up and thrown out over the heads of the lowbloods, who duck in a panic.
- [18:34] <Ken> "Bed"
- [18:34] <Elezar> (Like, through the wall?)
- [18:34] <Ken> Recooperacoon.
- [18:34] <Elezar> (Elezar's in her respitechamber)
- [18:35] <Ken> I'm imagining a hallway that leads to the large assortment of tents in the main yard, and it flew into there.
- [18:35] <Ken> So yes, eventually through a wall.
- [18:35] <Sorodin> DA: Okay, so maybe I did while sleeping
- [18:35] <Sorodin> DA: Big deal
- [18:35] <Elezar> Well nuts, there goes her privacy.
- [18:36] <Elezar> AO: If you have no rea8on to be 0onta0ting me, then I will return to 8aving my people.
- [18:36] <Ken> The lowbloods wander around, confused. How did it lift?
- [18:36] <Ken> Aliens?
- [18:36] * Elezar does her best to look confused too. This is surprisingly easy, as she really is confused too.
- [18:37] <Sorodin> DA: Alright.
- [18:37] <Sorodin> DA: What do you mean by saving your people?
- [18:37] <Ken> In it's place, a box like construct with a conspicuous top and valve drops in from "nowhere"
- [18:38] <Elezar> "What i8 the meaning of thi8?"
- [18:39] <Ken> Now the lowbloods are two steps from panicking. They don't know, and the only one who's calm is- why is he here?
- [18:40] <Ken> It's that guy who was just trying to incite a rebellion against you.
- [18:40] * Elezar mutters to herself "oh, not thi8 again."
- [18:40] <Sorodin> DA: Hello?
- [18:40] <Elezar> AO: Later, I have 8omething I mu8t deal with.
- [18:41] * Elezar closes her husktop and strides towards the rebel.
- [18:41] <Elezar> "I8 thi8 your doing?"
- [18:41] <Ken> "I was just about to ask you that, she demon.!!!"
- [18:41] <Elezar> "Do you hate my de8ire for pea0e 8o mu0h that you would 8ee to the end of thi8 many live8?"
- [18:42] <Elezar> "Why would I do thi8?!"
- [18:42] <Ken> "Because you are an unpleasant person.!!!"
- [18:42] <Elezar> "HOW?!"
- [18:42] <Elezar> "The8e are my people!"
- [18:42] <Ken> "I don't know, but I'll find out.!!!"
- [18:43] <Elezar> "Not if everything i8 de8troyed!"
- [18:43] <Ken> "No, this isn't my doing. You think im capable of summoning meteors?!!!" He stops and thinks for a moment before saying this.
- [18:44] <Elezar> "I don't know what you're 0apable of, but you 0ertainly have the motive."
- [18:45] <Elezar> "I know you de8pi8e me and what I 8tand for, but I would 8et a8ide our differen0e8 for the 8ake of the greater good."
- [18:45] <Ken> "Do you have some way to save this town from certain doom?!!!"
- [18:46] * Elezar pauses for a moment. She regards the conversation with SG, and his mention of the game.
- [18:46] <Elezar> "I believe I might."
- [18:46] <Elezar> "I don't under8tand it, and I don't know if it will work, but I'm willing to try anything."
- [18:47] <Ken> "Then we can ignore how much of a witch you are to accomplish this.!!! Does it have anything to do with that?!!!"
- [18:47] <Ken> He asks, pointing to the thing with a valve.
- [18:47] <Elezar> "I do not know enough about thi8 to 8ay for 0ertain, but it 8eem8 plau8ible."
- [18:48] * Elezar turns and runs back to her respitechamber to investigate the box-like object, and re-open her husktop.
- [18:48] <Elezar> AO: I8 thi8 your doing?
- [18:49] <Sorodin> DA: Is what my doing?
- [18:49] <Elezar> AO: The apo0alyp8e?
- [18:49] <Elezar> AO: Meteor8 de80ending from the 8ky with no mer0y for troll life?
- [18:49] <Elezar> AO: Doe8n't ring a bell?
- [18:49] <Sorodin> DA: Oh yeah, I remember those.
- [18:50] <Elezar> AO: 8o you are behind thi8.
- [18:50] <Sorodin> DA: At the time, I was pretty ok with them.
- [18:50] <Sorodin> DA: But not behind them.
- [18:50] <Sorodin> DA: More like, under them.
- [18:50] <Elezar> AO: What do you mean "at the time"?
- [18:50] <Elezar> AO: It i8 happening now!
- [18:50] <Sorodin> DA: Like, at the time, when they were falling at me.
- [18:50] <Sorodin> DA: When they destroyed my hive and shit.
- [18:51] <Elezar> AO: And you e80aped your hive?
- [18:51] * Elezar investigates the box while this conversation is happening.
- [18:53] <Sorodin> DA: Yeah, there was a game that saved me
- [18:53] <Sorodin> DA: I'm going to send it to you
- [18:53] <Elezar> AO: I already have it.
- [18:53] <Sorodin> DA: Please don't connect with me or a troll named Aoxola, or one named Donn
- [18:53] <Sorodin> DA: what
- [18:53] <Elezar> AO: I believe I am playing it now.
- [18:53] <Sorodin> DA: Okay.
- [18:53] <Sorodin> DA: Who'd you connect with?
- [18:53] <Ken> The box, which is also being investigated by your unnamed 'friend'
- [18:53] <Ken> Has a single piece to it that is of interest.
- [18:54] <Ken> The valve.
- [18:54] <Elezar> AO: I believe it wa8 you.
- [19:06] <Sorodin> DA: WHAT
- [19:06] <Sorodin> DA: Shit, how does that work
- [19:06] <Sorodin> DA: I need to be servering on the other end!
- [19:06] <Sorodin> DA: Shitshitshit
- [19:06] <Sorodin> DA: ...
- [19:07] <Sorodin> DA: Okay.
- [19:07] <Sorodin> DA: What's happening on your end?
- [19:26] * Elezar abandons the husktop for a moment and attempts to pull the lever.
- [19:28] <Ken> You mean turn the valve?
- [19:28] <Elezar> Same thing.
- [19:30] <Ken> No?
- [19:30] <Elezar> Close enough to the same thing.
- [19:31] <Ken> NO IT'S NOT THE SAME THING A LEVEL GOES UP AND DOWN
- [19:31] <Ken> A VALVE TURNS AROUND ITSELF
- [19:31] <Elezar> Shshshssshshshshsh.
- [19:31] <SorodinRane> THIS IS NOT IMPORTANT LET'S JUST DO THE THING
- [19:32] <Ken> Anyway roll strength.
- [19:32] <Elezar> !Roll 1d20-1
- [19:32] <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20-1 --> [ 1d20=9 ] | {8}
- [19:33] <Ken> It moves a bit, but not much. The still unnamed guy snickers.
- [19:33] <Elezar> "Would you like to help?"
- [19:33] <Elezar> "I am trying to 8ave u8."
- [19:34] <Ken> "Fine.!!!" He grabs the valve along with you and you can roll again with advantage.
- [19:34] <Elezar> !Roll 2#1d20-1
- [19:34] <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 2#1d20-1 --> | [ 1d20=4 ]{3}, [ 1d20=1 ]{0}
- [19:34] <Elezar> Well nuts.
- [19:35] <Ken> You guys actually manage to snap it off entirely. The valve rests between your hands and the as of yet unnamed guy looks at it with confusion.
- [19:36] <Elezar> "Well done."
- [19:36] <Ken> "How did we rip it off if we can't even turn it?!!!"
- [19:36] <Elezar> Not missing a beat, Elezar attempts to hastily put the valve back in and attempts to turn it again, at least to see what it is supposed to do.
- [19:37] <Ken> It's snopped. It's about this time the a sheet of roof breaks off and starts floating.
- [19:37] <Ken> It meanders over to the top of the machine.
- [19:37] * Elezar looks around to see if any psionics are assisting them.
- [19:38] <Ken> They rushed outside. This too has no logical explanation.
- [19:38] <Elezar> Well, the only option now is to see where this goes.
- [19:38] <Ken> It drops atop the machine, and the thing bursts open. A bunch of brick like colored dowels and a flashing spirograph enter the room.
- [19:39] * Elezar takes a step back in confusion.
- [19:39] <Elezar> "Have you ever 8een anything like that?"
- [19:40] <Ken> "Once.!!! I was imbibed with troll alcohol though.!!!"
- [19:40] <Elezar> "Wonderful, 8o no help there."
- [19:41] * Elezar turns to the floating thing.
- [19:41] <Elezar> "0an you 0ommuni0ate?"
- [19:47] <Ken> It buzzes in your general direction. You start to hear a commotion from outside.
- [19:48] <Elezar> "Gue88 not."
- [19:48] <Elezar> "0an I leave you to figure thi8 out while I en8ure my people are 8afe?"
- [19:48] <Elezar> "Or would that make me a bad per8on?"
- [19:51] <Ken> "I hate you.!!! Go before I punch your lights out.!!!"
- [19:51] <Elezar> "Thank you."
- [19:51] * Elezar runs outside, taking her husktop with her.
- [19:52] <Ken> You see a few tents that have been assaulted with machines.
- [19:52] <Ken> The new ones include a thin one where slots exist and a needle of some kind.
- [19:53] <Ken> As well as another one that's huge with only like one button.
- [19:53] <Ken> It's a pad.
- [19:54] * Elezar approaches the group who was at one point with her near her respitechamber.
- [19:54] <Elezar> "I8 everyone alright?"
- [19:56] <Ken> The meteor has gotten much larger as it gets closer. Most are not really looking at their tents.
- [19:59] <Elezar> "Forget your material belonging8, are you all 8afe?"
- [19:59] <Elezar> Yeah, that sounds believable.
- [20:01] <Ken> A few shake their heads. One even lays down on his back staring up.
- [20:01] * Elezar goes over to him.
- [20:01] <Elezar> "What happened?"
- [20:03] <Ken> "It was easy to forget inside. The meteor. Look at it."
- [20:03] * Elezar looks at it.
- [20:03] <Ken> It's still blazing towards you guys, bigger as it gets closer.
- [20:04] <Elezar> "Ye8, the meteor, but why are you on the ground?"
- [20:04] <Elezar> "Are you injured?"
- [20:05] <Ken> "No."
- [20:05] <Elezar> "Then all i8 fine at the moment."
- [20:05] <Elezar> "I will keep u8 alive."
- [20:06] <Ken> So you say, but what's the plan?
- [20:06] <Elezar> (Are they saying that, or is that a thought?)
- [20:06] <Ken> Thought
- [20:07] <Elezar> To see where this goes.
- [20:08] <Elezar> "8tay here, I will figure thi8 out, I promi8e."
- [20:08] * Elezar goes to investigate the new machines.
- [20:13] <Ken> Would you like to investigate the Totem Lathe looking one or the Alchemeter looking one?
- [20:14] <Elezar> Alchemeter.
- [20:14] <Ken> It's a pad, once again. It has a slot that could fit something that you've seen before and a single button and interface.
- [20:15] * Elezar presses the button.
- [20:16] <Ken> Nothing happens.
- [20:16] * Elezar examines the interface.
- [20:17] <Ken> It's got a bunch of tiers of money on it, and none of it is lit up.
- [20:17] <Elezar> Is there any way to interact with it?
- [20:18] <Ken> The button is the only thing, and since that didn't do anything, no.
- [20:18] * Elezar moves on to the next machine.
- [20:19] <Ken> The Totem Lathe has two slots of note. One where a circular object can be placed, and one where a card can be placed. A card with punched holes takes this moment to appear out of nowhere and smack you in the face.
- [20:22] <Elezar> Confused, but learning not to question it, Elezar grabs the card and inputs it into the slot.
- [20:23] <Ken> It doesn't do anything yet. Seems like you've got to put something in that second slot.
- [20:24] <Elezar> Well, with nothing else to do, Elezar returns to her respitechamber to question her begrudged companion.
- [20:24] <Ken> He's on the desk, reaching for the spirograph thing. You see a bunch of dowels on the ground.
- [20:24] <Ken> Roll investigation.
- [20:25] <Elezar> !roll 1d20
- [20:25] <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20 --> [ 1d20=5 ] | {5}
- [20:25] <Ken> Anyway, the guy falls forward, touching the side of the blazing [color] orb.
- [20:26] <Ken> And everything goes bright white.
- [20:26] <Elezar> (colour is fuchsia)
- [20:26] <Ken> When your vision clears, theres a frowny face guy with horns in the orb, and your enemy is gone.
- [20:26] <Elezar> "Um..."
- [20:26] <Ken> "What the fuck is this?!!!"
- [20:27] <Elezar> "That i8 probably not good."
- [20:27] <Ken> "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"
- [20:27] <Ken> "!!!!"
- [20:28] <Elezar> "Are you alright?"
- [20:29] <Ken> "No.!!! I am in fact, quite in distress.!!! Please render assistance.!!!"
- [20:30] <Elezar> "I am trying, but I don't know how!"
- [20:31] <Elezar> (Any chance Elezar can recognize the cylinders as matching the slot for the lathe?)
- [20:31] <Ken> "No matter.!!! You should take those dowels down to the Machines and use them.!!! I am suddenly a lot more calm and really want to help you.!!! This is literally hell.!!!"
- [20:32] <Elezar> "That... 8eem8 rea8onable."
- [20:32] <Elezar> "The dowel part, not the you wanting to a88i8t me part."
- [20:33] * Elezar grabs some dowels, and rushes outside with them to the lathe.
- [20:33] <Ken> He follows after you, disembodied head being pretty worrying.
- [20:34] <Ken> "So I guess you're some kind of hero or something?!!! Nah.!!! I'm still going with Witch.!!!"
- [20:34] <Ken> The dowel can fit in the slot, the meteor is getting way too close for comfort.
- [20:35] <Ken> A few of the lowbloods talk.
- [20:35] * Elezar places the dowels into the slot on the lathe, panicking internally, but trying not to externally.
- [20:35] <Ken> They are channeling psionic energies amongst themselves.
- [20:36] <Ken> The dowel is cut, but it's far too late. The heat from the meteor licks at your hair, the winds blazing and most accepting their fates. But not one specific group from your army. Not them. As you would die, they intervene.
- [20:37] <Ken> You have placed yourself into their hearts, and they choose to sacrifice themselves for you. Blood psionics smatter everywhere as the meteor sits just above the hive, about to crash, about to explode, but stopped.
- [20:37] <Ken> The lowbloods start to perish. If you are to survive, do it now.
- [20:39] <Elezar> How noble.
- [20:39] <Elezar> And foolish.
- [20:39] * Elezar awaits the dowel to finish cutting.
- [20:39] <Ken> It's done.
- [20:40] * Elezar grabs the cut dowel.
- [20:40] <Elezar> "Now what?" she says urgently.
- [20:41] <Ken> The unnamed man looks upon them and then to your face. He doesn't respond. There was only one machine you have not used yet.
- [20:42] * Elezar nods, and runs to the last machine.
- [20:42] <Ken> "That's it." He starts, uncharacteristically not including exclamation marks in his speech.
- [20:42] <Ken> "That's what's going on here."
- [20:43] <Ken> "You don't care for any of these people do you? They are just a means to an end to you!"
- [20:43] * Elezar looks around for any survivors who might hear.
- [20:45] <Ken> Most are busy, and those who are not are dying to keep the meteor in check. The Alchemeter summons a Fuchsia trainset. A bunch of dolls sit on one side of the train tracks, and a single doll sits on the other. There is a latch that makes the train go one way or the other.
- [20:45] <Elezar> (ooooooo)
- [20:45] * Elezar pauses for a moment.
- [20:46] <Elezar> "Detail8."
- [20:46] * Elezar examines the dolls for any defining features.
- [20:48] <Elezar> Are they any different from one another?
- [20:49] <Elezar> Also, where is the train heading now?
- [20:53] <Ken> "You sick freak. You.." And then he's gone. Left to do bugger all. It seems that he's not spreading words of your misdeeds around though, perhaps correctly assuming that no one would believe him. The train is heading nowhere, as it is a toy. All of the dolls are you, but the single one is dressed as a queen.
- [20:54] * Elezar muses for a moment.
- [20:55] * Elezar moves all of the dolls to one side of the tracks, and pushes the train along the opposite track.
- [20:55] <Ken> The train scoots along the track that's now empty, hitting no one and saving everyone forever.
- [20:55] <Ken> The land around you starts to go blurry.
- [20:56] <Ken> Things are basked in white again, but this time it's deeper.
