  1. Echo mode:
  2. Chord now does a good amount of damage and builds gauge by 10% (improved from 6%)
  3. The old combos lopps are still the best,
  4. Crush<->Chord
  5. Superpound->Chord->Crush (higher damage more commitment)
  6. loops are both the best options.
  7. Superpound no longer needs crush for increased damage so you can start your combo with it.
  8.
  9. For elemental, the 3rd and and 5th combo in the performance section can do better damage than the Superpound->Chord->Crush given the right build and monster. However, they are usually not used too much since they burn sharpness and have low gauge generation. You can consider using them when protective polish or infernal is active.
  10.
  11. For performance mode:
  12. Performance is no longer the best dps option, but the utility from iframes and gauge charging is still really good(12%). You want to use it between combos to evade stuff and counter attack.
  13. Also crush is good for reposition and going into superpound.
  14. We will likely still be doing lots of Perform<->Crush combos, but not as optimal damage, rather as a result of the strong utility from iframes and repositioning.
  15.
  16. Damage wise, we want to abuse the improved Overhead Smash (Aka Superpound).
  17. So the combos will consist mostly of Superpound -> XXXXXX -> Superpound
  18. Where XXXXXX can be:
  19. 1. Superpound -> Perform->Crush->Superpound : This one is generally preferred as it uses the least sharpness and generates good gauge.
  20.
  21. 2. Superpound -> Left Swing->Superpound : Similar dps and sharpness efficiency to the above on raw sets. The former will generate more charge and is very slightly better with sharpness, and benefits more from silkbind shockwaves. The latter will do more damage on extremely high hz/high crit builds. Recommend doing the former generally. Since we do not typically use sets with high crit. Just leaving it here to be complete.
  22.
  23. 3. Superpound -> Kick->Multicrush->Superpound : This combo does the most damage. And is even more favorable when using elemental sets. Burns sharpness and have low gauge generation, so try to use only when you've polish up or infernal active. It can be hard to hit the first hit of superpound, try to have your target slightly to your left.
  24.
  25. 4. Superpound -> Double Swing->Superpound : Moves you slightly, the sharpness and damage is somewhere between the first and 3rd combo. useful when you want to play a green note song. Generally recommend using one of the other combos instead unless you need to play a green song or reposition while during a combo.
  26.
  27. 5. Multicrush<->Kick loop Generally initiated with a crush, this combo burns sharpness even more than the 3rd combo. You can consider using them when protective polish or infernal is active. Whether or not it is stronger than the 3rd combo depends on the build/monster your fighting. This combo is combo should only be used on elemental builds.
  28.
  29. Swing combo seems synergistic with performance mode as it plays a song. The damage is decent and it has good gauge generation. You could try weaving it into your gameplay.
  30.
  31.
  32. -----
  33. Generally,
  34. Echo mode will have more damage
  35. Performance have generous iframes.
  36.
  37. Some general remarks:
  38. - Spamming mag trio is still not the to go, as tempting as it looks with silkbind shockwaves. Try to use it only when you intent to use infernal melody.
  39. - Good Pokes when the monster is up:
  40. Crush -> Recital/Backslam (All 3 of these moves are also very good alone for poking)
  41. Right swing
  42. Superpound
  43. Slide beat still remains as one of the best response to many monster attacks. But it can be hard to utilize given how we often want Silkbind Shockwave
  44. - Swing combo will not remove any core combos, so it is harmless to equip it even if you do not intent to use it.
  45. - Bloom is great for wake ups. Getting hit/roared will not interrupt placing bead/bloom so you can use it right before they roar.
