IsekaiSS part 9

“I-I don’t know about this…” whispers Taya, edging her way out the door.
Her sister catches her and brings her into a headlock
“not so fast!” sings Aya
You leave the group to inspect the vehicle. And you quickly head outside to call in Hans and Henrik. Kamikaze and Henrik arrive first, then Merlock and Hans.
After introductions are out of the way, the training can begin. you order Alice to be the gunner, Sara to be the loader, Aya to be the driver and Taya to be the radio operator/ hull machine gunner. Aya gets into the driver’s position. Hans leans over the hatch and begins to explain the basics of motor vehicle driving.
“that there is the ‘accelerator’, If you push that down while the stick is in gear you go forwards.” He begins rambling
Sara and Henrik take up a similar position, with Sara inside of the tank and Henrik looking through the side hatch
“first you need to flip that little switch there, otherwise the gun won’t fire. when Alice calls for ‘HE’ you get those yellow tipped shells, NO NOT NOW”
You show Alice where she sits in the tank and she climbs through the commander’s cupola. You climb in after her and take up the commander’s position behind her.
“okay” you begin “first, right in front of you, there’s the sight for the main gun. When you look down that little round bit you’ll see the sight”
You lay down the basics of using the sight, ranging and such. After Alice confirms that she can use the sight, you move onto the next item on the list. Aiming.
“the to aim the turret you use the two wheels in front of you” you instruct.
“where’s the second wheel?” she looks back at you.
“what?”
You lean in over her shoulder to check on the wheel situation. You notice that Alice starts breathing a bit quicker. It is a bit hard to breathe in this cramped space. You decide to focus your attention on the wheel situation. You search for the elevation wheel, she’s right! The fucking wheel’s gone.
“HAAANS, WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO WITH THE ELEVATION WHEEL” you shout at the potentially offending soldier.
Hans’ head appears through the commanders hatch. He hands you the wheel through the hatch.
“why the fuck is this outside of the tank! actually I don’t care, get back to work”
Now that the gunner’s controls are functional Alice gets the hang of them pretty quick.
You leave Alice to play with the controls for a bit and check up on the others.
Hans is making decent progress with Aya, Taya is fully trained for the machine gunner/radio operator role. Though, with the lack of need for the radio, the qualification isn’t worth much. Sara has the general gist of the loader role, which is about the best Henrik can teach her.
Henrik and Sara seem to be getting along quite well. You’re not sure if that means Sara is just friendly or if the mentally deficient gravitate toward each other.
“Anon, Aya’s ready to practice driving” reports hans
“alright, lets go!” you reply as you put the radio set on. “Driver Advance!”
Merlok jumps as the tiger roars to life. It rolls through the door without any trouble, trouble being ploughing through the wall and collapsing the entire building around you. Aya performs a lap around the barn.
“Driver Halt! Gunner target that tree at 3 o’clock.”
The turret rotates and aims at the specified tree.
“load mock shell” you order
“LOAD MOCK” shouts alice
“LOADING MOCK” replies Sara as she slams a wooden round into the breech, closing it and giving Alice a thumbs up
The Kwk 36 rocks back at is throws the wooden round into the tree.
You smile
A smile that spans too far across your face and shows too many teeth to be interpreted as innocent.
A smile of someone who knows his victory is assured, it’s only a matter of shattering the enemy’s will to fight.
“Take us back inside Aya, its strategy time”
