  1. FGO has been out since 2015 and I think it's about time someone made a post about the shift in meta in FGO and changes some servants made just because of its raw effect in battlefields.
  2.
  3. Initial launch in 2015: Waver was considered the WORST servant in FGO history. No way around it. There was no way to justify the bad scaling combined with long CD when back in the ages, it was all about fill up NP, nuke hard. Many used Robin Hood, George, Mashu combined with Herc to get past stages. Jeanne was the most popular choice among users thanks to her class affinity.
  4.
  5. 2 months in: Gilgamesh was released. King of Hero was thought to be the WORST archer because of his lackluster NP damage. About a month later, Kintoki was released and was hailed as the best berserker in the game thanks to his NP charge, which was extremely rare back then, and the combination with his monstrous strength and Halloween princess just made him much more viable and deadly.
  6.
  7. November 2015: The month Waver became the best support and his prime with the Okeanos patch. And quick quickly rose to the top due to its recent patch and Okita release.
  8.
  9. December 2015: The creation of quick trinity with release of Jack and Scathach. Quick continues to rise and quickly starts to fall as people start replacing quick servants with 2030(the fucker ruined it for all goddamn it).
  10.
  11. January 2016: Release of Karna, largely overshadowed by Scat in his niche and Nobu in AoE. Kintoki rose to the top thanks to the Dantes event and if I'm not wrong, was at 10.0 in appmedia(sniff).
  12.
  13. March~April 2016: Release of Cu Alter. Everybody expected him to be second rate berserker next to Kintoki but they had no idea what was to come in May. With the release of F/Z accel event, Gil's NP interlude was patched, making him slightly more valuable compared to Arjuna, a similar archer who was considered good back then. Oh, and DW decided to slip Jalter in and thus marker the inception of buster era. Release of Amakusa Shirou, who was considered the worst ruler due to his abysmal damage.
  14.
  15. May 2016: Most master's worst nightmare, Rashomon event. This was the age without Merlin and everybody lived under the terror of 6 mil Ibaraki. This marked the dramatic shift in servant meta. People started to realize that longetivity actually mattered instead of nuke fast and hard and started to imploy arts servant. Waver, Casko, and Artemis quickly rose thanks to the excellent synergy among dodge, CD reduction, stun, and defense debuff. This also marks the rise of Cu Alter as people started to lean more toward survival aspect of a servant. Release of Shuten, the first And assassin cuz who's phantom?
  16.
  17. July 2016: Darude Sandstorm decides to hit Camelot DUHDUDHUDH DUHDUH! Lancelot saber was released along with Ozymandias, and became coveted by people thanks to their skill synergy and Koyasu's DIO! Jokes aside, 58% attack buff with inherent star abs is amazing. Okita started to fall behind Lancelot due to her being crit and inability to consistently dish out critical damage. Onigashima event embarks the rise of Kin rider and Raiko, first which gave rise due to his insanely high NP damage and quick NP gain, and the latter one being infamous for her ability to naturally generate star and use them to dish out devastating damage, expecially within her niche. Eurayle becomes one of the most abused archer because of the surge of male sabers during this month.
  18.
  19. Special side note: Gawain VS the world. The fucker comes with perma numeral of the Saints, making him nigh impervious and eventually, DW nerfed the Gawain stage on Camelot dramatically(defense buff reduced from 80% to 50% if I remember correctly, could be wrong)
  20.
  21. Side note 2: Mashu turns into the BEST FREE TANK. Taunt in conjunction with 300% NP boost and 2000 damage cut is pretty much the same thing as invulnerability, especially when you factor in her NP spammability, which is another 500 damage cut with 30% defense buff.
  22.
  23. Summer 2016: Archuria sums it all up. She quickly rose to fame thanks to her insanely high NP gain, obviously resulting in NP spam. Arts to everyone either meant Lancelot, Archuria, or Casko. No, Jeanne doesn't count as she starts to fall behind.
  24.
  25. Somewhere between September and October 2016: NERO FES 2016 dawned upon us all, showing how cruel this game could get. True golden age of servants starts here. Waver, Cu Alter, and Jalter continue to climb the ladder.
  26.
  27. Sometime during 2016: Gil's interlude is released. 30% NP charge on this golden faggot turned him into a god.
  28.
  29. December 2016: Merlin is released. I don't think I need to emphasize the amount of effect that Merlin had in this game, completely invalidating Jeanne and Florence while giving dramatic boost in ratings of all buster servants. True golden age of buster servants.
  30.
  31. March 2017: Fall of one punch servants. Break system really but their asses hard. Especially Scat and Kin
  32.
  33. April 2017: Fate/CCC event showed people how scary arts team can be in the battle against no KP Kiara.
  34.
  35. Summer 2017: Karna's NP interlude released, turning him into a nigh flawless Lancer due to his naturally high attack stat and buster team buff post NP. Gramp starts to see some light by showing how scary can he be by showing off his tankiness in many solo battles. Amakusa quickly becomes the most popular option for challenge quests after receiving buffs he so much deserved. Jeanne gets her NP interlude(fanfucking finally) and becomes the new harbinger of the arts age because everyone knows her debuff cleanse is priceless:}
  36.
  37. Winter 2017: First Foreigner Abigail, considered a third rate servant thanks to her deck, NP gain, and skill CD.
  38.
  39. January 2018: Rise of new Arts Goddess, Hokusai is released. Shows the true terror of arts team in mixed team battle. True golden age of arts begins as Casko starts to rise in the chart.
