  1. 1755. Elf wizards work to develop the first spatial spells, culminating in the 7-sided cubic dice and the 3-sided coin.
  2.
  3. 1785, invention of the first digital logical computing machine, the inarcane, technological, Computing Engine. It was invented by gnomish engineer Carlsbabbej. It took up an entire room and was driven by a static steam engine.
  4.
  5. 1795. By now, the Computing Engine had been duplicated in several forms, from miniaturized machines which a strong man or a weak orc could cart around, to the beginnings of the Computation Factory, a 2 story tall factory that had been repurposed to contain a huge Computing Engine with one megadigit of memory storage and parallel processors. The Computation Factory would be capable of multi-tasking programs and using its processor mills together on one program, and was designed to compute the chaotic orbits of the planets.
  6.
  7. 1801, hammerspace spells are first invented. Using an intense arcane manufacturing processes it could create spaces that were bigger on the inside than on the outside.
  8.
  9. 1806. The first Interspecies Fair occurs, where among demonstrations of the cultures of various different nations and species, scientist and engineers of different species are brought together for the first time. Elves, Humans, Lesser Orcs, Gnomes, and Corvids all learn from eachother.
  10.
  11. 1815. The Interspecies Research Consortium develops new arcane computation technology based upon the Computing Engines and Elven Space warping magics. These new computers come equipped with special mechanisms for computer programmers to make use of in their programs. The random number generator is a gear which is constantly changing the amount of teeth it has. There's also the "Incredibly High Precision Digit Wheel," a gear designed to increase the numerical precision of certain calculations by replacing the 10-digit wheels in some mechanisms in the computer with 10-million-digit wheels. In addition, there were gears manufactured with irrational numbers of gears, including both the Pi Gear and the Euler gear. Programmers must take care when creating programs for these machines.
  12.
  13. 1816. The Elven wizard Aelgolan publishes a paper in the *Interspecies Research Journal* about the similarities of computer logic and the construction of spells, and proposes that one day computers might be programmed in a language the same way spells can be encoded in written or spoken language.
  14. 1816. Human advances in manufacturing processes have allowed for the first desktop computers to be introduced. They are still incredibly expensive, especially with arcane elements added.
  15. 1816. First experiments in mobile hammerspaces.
  16.
  17. 1817. The Computational Factory is extended with a new, miniaturized processor mill. (Unrelated to computing, its power engine is replaced with a high-pressure steam engine)
  18.
  19. 1818. Construction of the hammerspace scaffolding around the Computational Factory to make room for more processing power.
  20.
  21. 1819. Human arcane engineers develop a temporal engine, a machine which can alter the rate of the passage of time through a gradient, and must be powered with a steam engine. The temporal engine is used on a desktop computer to complete a 100-hour computation in thirty seconds. The power of the temporal engine is recognized immediately.
  22.
  23. 1820. A temporal-hammerspace field is erected around the Computational Factory, flattening the bulk of it into the ground, and when powered, running at 1,000 times the speed.
