- Hello everyone,
- Many demons don't know how the Torment could affect their evocations and when could it happen unintentionally.
- I decided to make this thread to kill the confusion and make it all clear.
- What is Torment?
- Torment is pretty much the scale of the agony of the demon, the higher their Torment, the more vicious they are.
- High Tormented demons would appear terrifying, just like what you imagine when you hear the word "Demon". However, demons with low Torment could appear angelic and holy just as an Angel.
- The true form of the demon reflects it's nature, so it does all make sense after all.
- System
- Aweing or Terrifying?
- If your Torment is equal or lower to a half of your willpower you would appear angelic. Otherwise, you appear like a demon.
- For example:
- A demon with Willpower 6 and Torment 3 would appear angelic. However, if he had Willpower 5 he would look like a demon.
- Oops? that was unintentional...
- So as far as you know (or at least should know) there are 2 versions for each evocation you make.
- Non-Tormented version (A.K.A the regular version of the evocation) and the Tormented version (A.K.A the corrupted version of the evocation).
- You can force your evocation to be Tormented, but after doing so you'll have to add one Temporary Torment dot.
- However, sometimes the evocations go out of the demon's control due to her corrupted nature and the evocation goes corrupted unintentionally. The higher the Torment of the demon the more likely it would happen.
- So.. when does it happen?
- When you roll your evocation you need to watch the numbers of the dices, if there are more dices with a number that is lower than your Permanent Torment rating than dices with higher numbers, the evocation is getting corrupted and going under Torment effect. However, you won't have to add Temporary Torment dot, since it happened unintentionally.
- Examples:
- Zeus has Permanent Torment rating of 6.
- Example for a roll that WOULD NOT get the Torment effect:
- Zeus_Callas rolling Survival (4) + Strength (3) at difficulty 4: 5, 3, 7, 9, 6, 8, 3 (( 4 successes ))
- why? Zeus' Permanent Torment is 6, as you can see in this roll, it has 4 dices that equal or higher than his Permanent Torment (6) and only 3 dices lower.
- ----------------------------------------------------
- Example for a roll that WOULD get the Torment effect:
- Zeus_Callas rolling Survival (4) + Strength (3) at difficulty 4: 5, 6, 7, 3, 2, 4, 2 (( 2 successes ))
- As you can see here, 2 dices are equal or higher than his Permanent Torment (6). However, there are 5 dices that are lower, which would make the evocation go corrupted.
