- Q: Why are you playing on the English version? Isn't the Japanese version faster for speedruns?
- A: The Japanese version is faster than English for this category by about 1.5-2 minutes. The English version of Majora's Mask actually has the advantage of slightly faster loads than the Japanese version, but the various advantages of Japanese, such as text and a couple version differences involving cutscenes and pirate vision, do amount to a greater advantage overall. The reason I am running on the English version regardless is for consistency. The route for this category on the Japanese version has postman in the final hour of the run, which due to the nature of that particular minigame makes it very likely to cost large amounts of time right at the end of the run. I just started running this category and I do seek to obtain world record, but I do not wish to immediately optimize the category. The Japanese version will be taken into consideration if I ever beat the record and someone comes back to beat it.
- Q: Why are you choosing to run the Glitchless version of 100% over the Glitched version?
- A: I've been grinding the Glitched version of 100% for the past year and few months (since late Feb 2019), and I've wanted to do it for a while now. I was just in a place with Glitched 100% where I wasn't having fun running the category, I wasnt looking forward to doing runs etc. I plan to take this category as my next big project, I want to put as much time into it as I can before going back to normal 100%.
- Q: How is zora swimming different on the English version compared to the Japanese version?
- A: On the Japanese version, Zora Link is locked into swimming the direction he is facing for the first second of his swim. On the English version, he instead will try to face whatever direction the control stick is held at first, in addition to turning more sharply to that same end for the first second of his swim. After the first second of swimming, both are identical.
- Q: How do we get Bank HP in this run?
- A: 4th Cycle is where we do all of bank hp. The way we get money to deposit in the bank is by farming Eenos on the north side of Termina Field using light arrows and bunny hood. Each Eeno will drop 50r each making it the quickest way to farm for money without the use of curiosity shop dupes.
