duplicate threads and automated shilling

People of 4chan.

Many of us have realized that the content of our boards are illegitimate and have been manufactured by bots for unknown purposes.  The bots have been observed posting contradictory propaganda, almost all of which is irrelevant or off topic so it is likely they are trying to distract, slide posts they don't like off the front page, or are testing and training bots to disrupt mainstream media comment discussion.

On the night of December 27, a bot went apeshit on 4chan, posting so much shit it seemed hard to find a legit thread.  Almost all of these threads/images/premises/copypasta had been seen for months but never in such volume.  Someone started a thread calling it out.  Several people linked to multiple identical threads occuring across all boards simultaneously.  Posts were happening too fast for it to be a single person without a bot net and automated software.

By December 29 as many as 70 suspected bot threads had been discovered in various 4chan archives (more on this later.)  On /pol/ that evening many claimed that it was likely the work of trolls, shitposters, and samefags and the posts were likely not to be connect to each other.

By December 30, it has been confirmed that at least 33 threads were posted by the same bot in one day.

These posts were spotted by the identical formatting of otherwise completely random file names such as:

Please note that these are not random threads with similar filenames.  They all contain identical text (on several topics) and all use identical images (per topic)

Most of the images were nearly identical, but slightly modified change the file hash value.  I used an image diffing program to see if any pixels changed, but none were visibly modified.  The image files don't appear to contain malware or hidden messages.

All file names were random alphanumeric formatted as follows:
########-####-####-####-#########.filetype

These were obviously posted in an automated (or semi-automated) fashion.

These messages were spread across many different boards.  They don't appear to be spam as there is no commercial product or service referenced or alluded to in them.  They appear to be political, but there is no clear agenda since the bot posts contradictory threads (pro-white and anti-white)

What you see below are not all the bot posts from that night, or the last few months.  They are the ones that we have found.  We have not been able to write a search algorithm to find this random text pattern in archives therefore all of these posts were found by human eyes on the archives and fingers on a keyboard.  Please join us on IRC and help us locate more evidence of automated shitposting.

Suspected botposts:

Above, it was shown incontrovertibly that cross board automated spamming of shitposts is happening.  The following posts are suspected to be from the same (or similar) bot that posted the threads listed above.  We may have caught some human trolls/samefags/shitposters up in this dragnet so just because a post is listed here does not mean it was created by a bot, it simply means we suspect it was.  Additionally there are many other bot posts which have evaded our search.  Please help us search in the IRC channel.

1. Do NOT post in identified bot threads.
2. If you see a bot thread, or a bot post, screencap it and post in one of these awareness threads.
3. Join the IRC, as noted below.
4. Inform all you can about this.
