  1. <DM> LAST TIME ON ZURPG - One with Shadows
  2. After Bloodwind stole Majora's Heart from Raine and made her comatose, the two of you, Kirran & Hal, sought out Impa for guidance. Reluctantly, she sacrificed the Shadow Medallion, turning you two into shadows. You enjoyed a world tour, then got to shadow shenaniganing in the Shadow Temple. You also met the Old Sheikah leader, Uroh, shackled in chains, and left him to rot in the darkness for an eternity longer, which helped ease Impa's worries.
  3.
  4. While learning to move as a shadow, you were tracked by Dark Link. He invaded the Shadow Temple, and you fought his shadow as shadows yourself. During the shadow fighting, Hal accidentally blinked himself away to a far away location, and learned to harness the madness within him from Garo Master. Kirran meanwhile grabbed ahold of the Dark Master Sword and received some insights about both the real Master Sword and himself. He was finally able to reach out to Raine, and after some philosophical talk about Cuil Theory, revived her and returned in full form, a Sheikah of Light, Darkness, and its coexistence.
  5.
  6. Together, with Impa and Dex's goons, Kirran & Hal fought Dark Link... and by that, I mean Hal singlehandedly shut down Dark Link, stuffed Bob the Cuccoo into his suffering body, and exploded it from the inside out with more Cuccoos. With a cameo appearance by Gurloz, they Purified Dark Link, revealing the true location of the Master Sword: Under Clocktower. However, with no time to rest, they were met with the beginning of the Invasion of Hyrule. Gurloz went off to aid Hyrule City, while Kirran & Hal were given a quest from Princess Zelda herself:
  7.
  8. Stop Lord Gustaf from suiciding against the Happy Mask Man.
  9. <DM> okay, time to kick the brain to overdrive. I legitimately don't know if I'm ready to DM this psychologically, buuuuuut that's how it usually is.
  10. <DM> -=QUEST START=-
  11. <DM> *From the Shadow Temple, you already hear the sounds of battle from the other side of Kakariko. Metal against shield, the warcries of beasts, and the screams of man.
  12. <Kirran> (Man needs to calm the heck down if he's out-shouting everyone else.)
  13. <DM> *Nearby, Impa has gathered the remainder of Dex's Goons, readying a pair of knives and a bunch of needles herself.
  14. <Hal> Ack. The war's already here!
  15. <DM> *They're more like echoes in the distance, not something you can distinguish clearly.
  16. <DM> [Impa]: I've reached out to the rest of the Sheikah. They should arrive soon. In the meantime, we're all that Kakariko has.
  17. <DM> [Impa]: I know you received a direct order from Princess Zelda, but before you can go, can you help us evacuate Kakariko?
  18. <Kirran> I get the feeling we're in for a rough time.
  19. <Kirran> Of course.
  20. <Hal> We shall. We cannot afford to let the population of Kakariko fall into the hands of Masked Man's forces
  21. <DM> [Impa]: Thanks. I'm counting on you two. Let's go!
  22. <DM> *Impa dashes forward, as do the rest of Dex's Goons. Surprisingly, they manage to keep up, though Left Said Fred trips in a circle before gathering himself properly.
  23. <Kirran> (Load: Hyrule Warriors map 5)
  24. <DM> *Alright, you start in Kakariko Graveyard, which is in the east. The entrance of Kakariko is on the far west end, on the other side of town.
  25. <DM> *Route-wise, you can take the standard exit out the Graveyard, or you can try going up to the Windmill, to get a high ground view of the situation.
  26. <Hal> Our exits are to Death Mountain and to Hyrule Field. We should get height to see what we are up against.
  27. * Kirran heads up the windmill for the vantage point.
  28. <DM> *As you consider which path to take, you see black clouds brewing outwards from the center of Hyrule. They haven't quite reached Kakariko, but everything under it seems to already be turning to night, even though it's daytime out here.
  29. * Hal follows to gain a vantage point as well
  30. <DM> *You take the vantage point, and looking down at Kakariko, you see something that resembles Moblins, but more rat-like and hunched over. They're riding Boars, each of which have been disfigured and has their guts spilling out a bit, likely due to some ingested Chaos from the Mask Man.
  31. <DM> *The front gate is already smashed, with several guards down. The three remaining at the gate are using their shields to bash and parry the Bokoblins away. You see Impa and the Goons already reinforcing the front, pulling them out of the battle.
  32. <Kirran> You know, just when I think I've seen the most horrible things, there's always something worse waiting for me.
  33. <Hal> Right. It seems like we may have to evacuate through Death Mountain.
  34. <Hal> Alternatively we would have punch a hole in the army to get the people out safely through the main exit
  35. <DM> *Throughout the town, Bokoblins have already gotten around. The townsfolk are using whatever they can to fight back. Before you can reinforce anyone, you hear a squeal as a Red Bokoblin jumps up onto the cliff in front of you.
  36. <Kirran> Have you got a shovel or a magic candle Hal?
  37. <Hal> Yes.
  38. <DM> *It looks around and sees you two, casually chatting about shovels and magic candles, and it attempts to leap attack...
  39. * Hal blasts it with a Wind Torrent!
  40. <DM> (Roll it! FYI, I'm using its leap attack roll, since it already began it)
  41. <DM> (Err, Roll Wind Torrent attack vs. Leap Attack)
  42. <DM> $30d10 Bokoblin
  43. <Disco-Navi> DM: 2, 9, 3, 7, 6, 7, 10, 7, 10, 10, 3, 1, 1, 4, 3, 2, 2, 2, 8, 8, 8, 2, 7, 4, 2, 6, 10, 5, 1, 2 (Bokoblin)
  44. Successes: 19
  45. <Hal> $41d10
  46. <Disco-Navi> Hal: 9, 3, 1, 2, 2, 3, 5, 3, 7, 1, 6, 3, 9, 1, 1, 3, 8, 6, 9, 9, 1, 1, 2, 5, 1, 7, 7, 4, 7, 3, 1, 10, 5, 3, 10, 3, 3, 4, 8, 7, 10
  47. Successes: 22
  48. <Hal> Begone!
  49. <Hal> Alright Kirran, let's defend the townspeople.
  50. <DM> *You're a bit rusty after letting Dark Link feel the wrath of the cuccoos, but despite the Bokoblin's attempted sneak attack, your gust of wind overwhelms it in midair, causing it to tumble backwards several times before hitting the ground, backflipping several times, and slamming into one of the houses.
  51. <Hal> (What positions are people taking?)
  52. * Kirran tries to get an idea of how many people need help.
  53. * DM counts this real fast...
  54. <DM> *Roughly 5 areas of the village are under attack at this moment. However, in terms of those that can't defend themselves...
  55. <DM> *Looking down, near Anju's Cuccoo pen, you see her barricading herself in her house as a Chaos Boar tries to barrel its way in.
  56. <DM> *And nearby, you hear the screams of a madman from inside the Windmill, as well as several squeals.
  57. <Hal> Anju or Windmill?
  58. <Kirran> $1d2
  59. <Disco-Navi> Kirran: 2
  60. Total: 2
  61. <Hal> Anju might be defenseless but the guy in the windmill has more on him
  62. <Kirran> I guess I'm taking the windmill.
  63. <Hal> After you.
  64. <DM> [Raine]: Cuccoos are delicious when drenched in blood.
  65. <DM> *You almost forgot, but... Raine is kinda flickering in both light and darkness over Kirran's shoulder.
  66. <Hal> The Cuccoos might give her some space
  67. <Hal> So windmill it is
  68. <DM> *As Raine says that, the Boar hits one of the Cuccoos. Its friends from the nether abyss arrive in time to peck and pull away the Boar, stalling it from its attack.
  69. <Kirran> I want no part in another Cuccoo attack.
  70. <Kirran> (Is there a way into the windmill through the roof?)
  71. <DM> (You could always hookshot up and see.)
  72. <Kirran> (Aren't we already on top of it?)
  73. <DM> (You're on the hill next to the Windmill)
  74. <DM> (The Windmill is on an elevated plateau between the Graveyard and the rest of Kakariko Village)
  75. <Kirran> ("or you can try going up to the Windmill, to get a high ground view of the situation.")
  76. <Kirran> >_>
  77. <DM> (... right)
  78. * Kirran hookshots from the windmill to the windmill.
  79. <DM> *You find yourself on top of the windmill after having been on top of the windmill, just moments earlier.
  80. <DM> *Nearby, there is a window on its roof. It's unlocked.
  81. <Hal> Let's get in.
  82. * Hal prys the window open and looks inside to see the situation
  83. <DM> *As you open the window, the sounds of a screaming madman hits your ears, and closer than you'd think, given how high up you are...
  84. <DM> *You check out the windmill, and even though the inner stone wall is fairly smooth, somehow, some bloody way... you see a crazed man has climbed up halfway up the wall, complete with his full-body horn, or whatever the heck that instrument he carries is.
  85. <DM> *He looks up the rest of the way, and sees you poking your head in.
  86. <DM> [Guru-Guru]: Hey, you! Let me up and outta here!
  87. <Hal> (What's the distance between the top of the windmill and the bottom of the windmill where the Bobokins are?)
  88. <DM> *Down below, you see three Bokoblins, two red, and one black.
  89. <DM> (About... 50 feet. Just barely the length of the hookshot.)
  90. <Hal> I'll get you out of there!
  91. <DM> *Just then, the Black Bokoblin switches to a one-handed Crossbow, still keeping the shield out. He begins to aim at Guru-Guru.
  92. <Hal> (What spells would allow me to safely get him out of here?)
  93. <DM> (Got anything that can lift him? Or a Clawshot?)
  94. * Kirran takes a preemptive shot at the Bokoblin before it gets the chance to fire.
  95. <DM> (Roll away!)
  96. <Hal> (I have no Clawshot because Hal had sucky Power before he picked up the Warlock Blade and forgot to pick it up)
  97. <Kirran> $51d10
  98. <Disco-Navi> Kirran: 1, 2, 9, 9, 6, 4, 5, 8, 5, 1, 6, 10, 2, 9, 4, 1, 8, 7, 8, 3, 4, 9, 2, 3, 5, 1, 6, 5, 10, 5, 10, 6, 5, 3, 5, 10, 9, 5, 4, 5, 10, 5, 7, 2, 4, 4, 10, 3, 9, 10, 5
  99. Successes: 40
  100. <DM> [Raine]: LET BLOOD RAIN DOWN UPON THEM!
  101. <DM> *The Bokoblin notices at the last moment and raises his shield to defend upwards.
  102. * DM adds 5 Successes to your attack, given you're shooting downwards.
  103. <DM> $25d10
  104. <Disco-Navi> DM: 3, 9, 6, 4, 10, 10, 3, 2, 5, 4, 9, 6, 3, 7, 5, 4, 4, 2, 10, 7, 4, 6, 7, 9, 5
  105. Successes: 18
  106. <Hal> (How long would it take for me go reach down and grab the man with Song of Soaring?)
  107. <DM> (Not too long, and it seems the other two Bokoblins don't have ranged weapons. Then again, they are crazy Bokoblins...)
  108. <DM> *Your arrow strikes the Black Bokoblin in the shoulder, forcing him to drop the Crossbow. He gets kicked downwards, and gets to work on casting a healing spell on his injury.
  109. * Hal takes out his Ocarina and plays the Song of Soaring before flying down to pick up Guru-Guru
  110. <DM> *You begin your angelic descent, grabbing Guru-Guru on the way. However...
  111. <DM> [Guru-Guru]: No no no, that's not how it goes. THIS is how you play it!
  112. <DM> *He uses Overpower Song on you! Roll Power!
  113. <Hal> $25d10
  114. <Disco-Navi> Hal: 1, 3, 4, 1, 9, 1, 8, 1, 10, 7, 3, 7, 3, 4, 1, 5, 2, 5, 1, 2, 1, 1, 8, 5, 2
  115. Successes: 10
  116. <DM> $30d10 GuruGuru
  117. <Disco-Navi> DM: 3, 6, 10, 4, 3, 6, 4, 5, 6, 9, 9, 5, 10, 6, 5, 5, 7, 7, 5, 1, 4, 5, 7, 3, 7, 6, 5, 2, 4, 6 (GuruGuru)
  118. Successes: 23
  119. <Hal> (really Navi...)
  120. <DM> *Guru-Guru starts BLASTING a new song through his body horn. Your wings start to fade back into your back.
  121. <DM> *Thankfully, you're only dropping 20 feet.
  122. <DM> *Roll Courage to avoid fall damage!
  123. * Hal attempts to grab his hookshot and fire it at Kirran to get himself back up (It doesn't pull him down)
  124. <Hal> (I'm pretty sure it doesn't)
  125. <DM> (Are you keeping the Guru-Guru, or no?)
  126. <Hal> (Does he take two hands to hold?)
  127. <DM> (No, just asking if you're hauling him along.)
  128. <Hal> (I am)
  129. <DM> *You manage to hookshot up to Kirran with Guru-Guru. Kirran, you feel a bit of a pull, but with your Golden Gauntlets, you find you have no problem bracing yourself against the windowsill.
  130. <Kirran> Oof.
  131. <Kirran> Honestly, I don't know why we don't just have some rope...
  132. <DM> *Hal, you get out fine, but Guru-Guru can't fit through the window. And he's still blaring the Song of Storms inside the windmill, causing it to start turning and turning, and even raining inside the windmill.
  133. <DM> *Correction, his instrument can't fit through the window.
  134. <DM> *It makes a loud THUNK as it hits the windowsill.
  135. * Kirran punches out a chunk of the roof so he can fit through.
  136. <DM> [Guru-Guru]: What are you DOING? You can't stop the SONG! It's what brings me- no, this DEAD VILLAGE ITS LIFE!
  137. <DM> *Roll Power!
  138. <DM> *Err, roll your Punch
  139. <Kirran> $40d10
  140. <Disco-Navi> Kirran: 8, 9, 7, 6, 10, 6, 7, 6, 10, 10, 6, 1, 6, 9, 8, 6, 7, 9, 10, 2, 9, 3, 6, 3, 1, 4, 10, 3, 6, 4, 8, 10, 5, 2, 2, 5, 9, 9, 9, 8
  141. Successes: 36
  142. <DM> *You punch more than chunk of the roof away, causing the whole roof of the windmill fall downwards and collapse onto the three Bokoblins below.
  143. <Kirran> Well...hmmm.....
  144. <Hal> I guess we will have to foot the bill for that...
  145. <DM> *Their squeals are cut short by raining splinters and the Song of Storms still blaring into their now-dead ears.
  146. <DM> *Hal, you manage to hold onto Guru-Guru. He's still fine, though he's *still* playing that song, annnd stormclouds are starting to form above the village.
  147. <Hal> We need to calm him down.
  148. <DM> [Guru-Guru]: NO! NO TIME TO REST, NO TIME TO WASTE! THE END IS NIGH! LET THERE BE SONGS OF STORM AND GLORY!
  149. <DM> *His playing gets *louder*. Both of you now suffer -5 Successes on all rolls as long as he's nearby.
  150. <Kirran> Honestly? I think we're better off just leaving him to it.
  151. <Hal> Alright. I think we can use the rain to our advantage here
  152. <Hal> The monsters don't like rain either
  153. <DM> *Thunder starts crackling from above. The rain hasn't started yet, but you begin to see electricity sparking from Guru-Guru's horn. His eyes have turned a bloodshot red, almost glowing. It's... actually kind reminiscent of the Mask Man, buuut thankfully through your Spirit Vision, you can see Guru-Guru is fairly harmless by comparison.
  154. <Hal> (Where is Mima's Music Shop from here?)
  155. <DM> *There's enough of the Windmill's roof for Guru-Guru to contain playing on.
  156. <Hal> (But there are ranged attackers on the loose)
  157. <Hal> (He'd be an easy target for those)
  158. <DM> (Yeah, but the top of the Windmill + the elevation... probably no one's shooting him down.)
  159. <DM> (That, on top of soon-to-be-rain)
  160. <Hal> Alright
  161. <Kirran> (Plus he's got electricity on his side.)
  162. * Hal looks over to Anju's place
  163. <DM> *You see Mima's Music Shop to the north end of Kakariko Village, just outside the path to Death Mountain, opposite of Anju's place.
  164. <Hal> (Is there still a Cuccoo attack?)
  165. <DM> *Speaking of which, the Chaos Boar, despite blood spilling from multiple Cuccoo peckings, has managed to break through the Cuccoo pen, and it's just now broken through into Anju's place.
  166. <Kirran> Looks like we need to get a move on.
  167. <DM> *The Cuccoo attack has ceased, as multiple tired Cuccoos are laying to the side, catching their breaths before preparing to descend once more.
  168. <Hal> Exactly
  169. * Hal looks for a safe way to quickly climb down now that he can't use his wings
  170. * Kirran jumps and teleports down towards the house.
  171. <Hal> (Are there any posts that are hookshottable at my distance?)
  172. <DM> *Well you could always jump halfway and hookshot to the ground-level Kirran.
  173. <Kirran> (Wanted to be more fancy.)
  174. * Hal jumps and then hookshots to a wooden post or fencing while halfway down
  175. <DM> *Kirran, having zipped down, the Boar bulldozed through half the house already. From your angle, Anju isn't physically visible, but with your Spirit Vision, you notice she's on a second floor overhang, just above where the Boar ran through. She's staying still and silent.
  176. <Hal> (I think Hookshot cancels fall damage in that setting)
  177. <DM> *Hal, you land at the end of the Cuccoo pen, though your landing isn't exactly... quiet.
  178. <DM> *The Boar turns around, looking directly at the two of you.
  179. <Hal> At least we have this thing off Anju
  180. <DM> *It's got bloodied tendrils going wild on the front of its mangled face. Even though it's missing an eye, presumably due to ramming it repeatedly into walls, its single eye locks onto you, and you swear you see a red glow from the eye. Possessed by hatred and controlled by pain, the thing screeches and digs its heels into the ground, readying to charge straight at you.
  181. * Hal takes his cane and shield out to Cover Kirran.
  182. <DM> (brb water, go ahead and act)
  183. * Kirran scrounges around in his bag for a second, finds some bait, and throws it on the ground away from the house but still in sight range of the boar.
  184. <DM> *There's not much room to the side, but the boar does lock onto the Bait. Hal, you feel like you're still slightly in its path...
  185. * Hal jumps back to behind Kirran, who would be out of its path
  186. <DM> *You get out of the way in time for the Boar to bulldoze towards the Bait. Unfortunately, it blasts through another wall, and you hear the support overhang start to creak. The Boar's eating the bait now.
  187. <DM> *And by eating, I mean monstrously devouring.
  188. <Hal> Quick! Anju!
  189. * Kirran puts on his bunny hood and dashes in to grab Anju as fast as he can.
  190. <DM> *Hal, through your Spirit Vision, you see Anju start to drop slightly. You realize the overhang is about to collapse, and her with it.
  191. <DM> *Kirran, you manage to snag her out in time, just as the overhang collapses. From the crashing sound, the Boar turns around, locking back onto Kirran and Anju.
  192. <Kirran> Hal, now would be a good time to hit that boar where it hurts, while it's still distracted.
  193. <DM> *You're able to carry her safely with one arm, though as you look down at her, you realize she's carrying something. A prized blue Cuccoo.
  194. <DM> *Raine starts to salivate slightly at the sight of the Cuccoo.
  195. <DM> [Raine]: Ooooh... that looks *yummy*!
  196. * Hal readies a Ruby Inferno at the Boar...
  197. <Hal> (Does the Boar still know I'm around?)
  198. <DM> *The Boar turns it back completely to you, Hal.
  199. <Hal> (Yup)
  200. <DM> *It readies its foot, digging into it a second time, charging up its next run.
  201. <Kirran> Raine, no. That's not a snack. You already had three strawberry cakes today.
  202. <DM> [Raine]: What? But... but...
  203. <Kirran> You can eat that boar though, if you're hungry.
  204. <DM> *Anju, not seeing Raine, looks up at you Kirran, and gives you a frightened look.
  205. <DM> [Anju]: What? N-no, you're not eating my Cuccoo!
  206. <DM> *She tries to push herself away from you, Kirran.
  207. <DM> [Raine]: But the Boar has raspberry jam spilling out of it. I *hate* raspberry!
  208. <DM> *Roll it, Hal!
  209. * Hal 's eyes light up on fire as the Goron-driven Inferno materializes in his hands and fires the Inferno with the passion and rage of the Goron Tribe at the Boar, aiming to burn its other eye out by striking its face!
  210. <Hal> $31d10
  211. <Disco-Navi> Hal: 8, 5, 1, 2, 10, 2, 8, 3, 3, 10, 7, 7, 9, 5, 1, 8, 4, 5, 7, 10, 9, 9, 3, 9, 1, 9, 7, 3, 8, 3, 1
  212. Successes: 22
  213. <DM> (wait, you're aimed at its backside- ahhhh screw it I'll argue it with Spirit Vision)
  214. <Hal> > DMToday at 10:22 AM
  215. > *The Boar turns it back completely to you, Hal.
  216. <Hal> (Oh)
  217. <DM> (Yeah)
  218. <DM> (It's fine)
  219. <Hal> (I misread it)
  220. <DM> *You launch the blazing Inferno. It dashes across the Boar's fur, dancing across its backside and wraps around towards the front. Right before it charges, the fire coalesces towards the front and ignites its eye!
  221. <Hal> You shall burn in the fiery depths of... The Fire Temple!
  222. <DM> *It squeals in pain with an unholy cry, and ends up charging in a random direction!
  223. <DM> 1 = the wall next to it, 2 = Kirran and Anju, 3 = off towards the Gallery, 4 = Hal
  224. <DM> $1d4
  225. <Disco-Navi> DM: 2
  226. Total: 2
  227. <Hal> (How much damage total? The attack does +4 damage and 12 Neutral damage)
  228. <DM> (alright, so 38 total?)
  229. <DM> Chaos Boar: 212h | Completely blinded
  230. <DM> *Despite its intense pain, it trusts its original path, and charges straight at it!
  231. * Kirran sets Anju down behind him and gets out his Golden Shield.
  232. <Hal> (That means it has 0 Wisdom)
  233. <DM> (Yep.)
  234. <Kirran> Anju, whatever you do, don't move.
  235. <DM> *Anju's still confused by what you said, but she abides by your words and stands still to the side, inside her crumbling house.
  236. <DM> *The Chaos Boar charges straight at you, Kirran! Roll Power to defend!
  237. <DM> (this might hurt)
  238. <DM> $80d10 Chaos Boar
  239. <Disco-Navi> DM: 4, 7, 3, 7, 9, 8, 10, 9, 8, 10, 2, 9, 1, 8, 7, 1, 2, 9, 7, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 8, 8, 9, 6, 3, 8, 7, 8, 5, 4, 2, 1, 10, 7, 2, 1, 8, 4, 2, 1, 1, 3, 7, 4, 3, 2, 5, 2, 6, 9, 2, 8, 9, 6, 3, 1, 8, 8, 6, 10, 8, 2, 1, 7, 5, 9, 9, 7, 6, 7, 4, 2, 9, 7, 3 (Chaos Boar)
  240. Successes: 49
  241. * Kirran lights up the lava shield.
  242. <Kirran> $55d10

  244. Successes: 39
  245. <DM> *Using the Golden Gauntlets, you infuse its Lava Shield and put out your full strength. It slams straight into you with a serious punch, sliding you backwards into the other side of house. Your back slams against the wall, your boots kicking up wood splinters. However, you still manage to remain standing, your shield thoroughly implanted into its now-burning face.
  246. * Hal uses one of his Spell Scrolls to learn Phase Out!
  247. <DM> *Around you, you can hear the house beginning to lose its support bearings. You're also a bit sandwiched between the burning boar and the back of the house.
  248. * Hal then fires a Phase Out at the Boar!
  249. <Kirran> (brb 5 minutes)
  250. <DM> *Unable to move itself, the Chaos Boar is struck in the back by Hal's Phase Out! It stops screaming as its body begins to lose cohesion.
  251. <Hal> 21h 0m
  252. <DM> *Kirran, you find your position loosening up. The Chaos Boar, for a split moment, regains its vision - its normal eyes - and, in its last moments, still on fire from the Lava Shield and with tendrils eating it from the inside out, the Boar feels at ease.
  253. <DM> *The great beast finally fades out from the Phase Out, its soul floating up and outwards through the about-to-crash-on-your-head house. Anju has thankfully already ignored your words and left the house.
  254. <DM> *She gets by your side Hal, thanking you before regathering her Cuccoos.
  255. <DM> (brb a moment)
  256. <Hal> (How much magic would have Hal recovered from Magic Regeneration through this whole time?)
  257. <Hal> (What can I do to slow the rate the house is collapsing at?)
  258. <DM> (Back)
  259. <Hal> (While Kirran is AFK)
  260. <DM> (5 Rounds)
  261. <DM> (time flies quickly here!)
  262. <Hal> (I assume I am not going to be able to rush in and get him out in time alone)
  263. <Hal> 21h 9m
  264. <DM> (You could try to Phase Out the wall Kirran's stuck in.)
  265. * Hal does just that, phasing out the wall Kirran is stuck in and goes to get him out.
  266. <DM> *The house starts collapsing, namely on Hal's end. You'll have to beat 20 Successes for your Phase Out to get to the other side in time.
  267. <Hal> $31d10

  273. Successes: 22
  274. <DM> *Your Phase Out seems to strike the front of the house... but it actually ends up phasing through it. Kirran, you're considering getting yourself out when the part of the wall you're leaning backwards into suddenly disappears and you barrel roll backwards to the other side of it!
  275. <Kirran> (Sorry, unexpected influx of groceries)
  276. <Hal> 21h 3m
  277. <DM> *The whole of Anju's house finally crashes down finally. Just then, a flash of lightning strikes its remains, and it begins to rain from Guru-Guru's calling.
  278. <DM> (Yer fine, Hal saved you from getting stuck.)
  279. <DM> *Kirran, near where you fell out, a large plank of wood narrowly passes over your head.
  280. * Kirran checks on Anju
  281. <DM> *You're about to check on her when one of the nearby Carpenters stumbles into you. He ends up falling over you.
  282. <DM> *And he's uhh... not thin. Roll Power to stay on your feet!

  288. Successes: 16
  289. <DM> *You manage to jump to your feet, and skillfully move the big man over you, along with the large plank he was carrying.
  290. <DM> *With a brief look towards Hal, you notice next to him, Anju's fine.
  291. <Hal> (What did the boar drop?)
  292. <Kirran> (Chaos bacon)
  293. <DM> *You look for item drops from the Boar, but the crashed house seems to be in the way.
  294. <DM> *Kirran, next to you, another carpenter flies into the cliffside, the plank of wood he was using to defend himself snapped cleanly in two. He hits the wall and is knocked out.
  295. <DM> *The other carpenter puts his hand on you, trying to get himself back up.
  296. <Kirran> Why is it raining men all of a sudden?
  297. <DM> [Mutoh]: Hey, you, tough guy, help me get rid of this big guy!
  298. <Hal> The Bobokins must have landed good hits on them
  299. <Hal> (OH NO. Hinox)
  300. <DM> (Nah, not that mean.)
  301. <DM> *From around the village, you can hear the squeals of Bokoblins finally dying down. However, emerging from the broken wall of the Shooting Gallery is a tall knight, as tall as a Gerudo, and fully covered in armor. It carries a well forged broadsword and a round shield, one resembling the Royal Guard.
  302. <DM> *Standing in front of you, Kirran, is an Iron Knight.
  303. * Hal looks around to see what the villager situation is like now
  304. <DM> *Hal, you look around, and it seems the other Sheikahs have arrived. They're few in number, but they're managing to keep the rest of the Bokoblin attacks busy. You hear the cries of a Chaos Boar, but you can't seem to find it in all the chaos.
  305. <Hal> Alright. What's our plan for this guy?
  306. * Hal chugs a Green Potion
  307. <Hal> 21h 14m
  308. <DM> *The Iron Knight looks down at you Kirran, towering a solid two foot over you. You're not the shortest guy, either...
  309. * Kirran is trying to clear his head after the to-do with the boar.
  310. <DM> *It raises its sword, intent on Kirran, but, readying its shield in the direction of you, Hal. It's not even looking in your direction, and you're at least 30 feet away.
  311. * Kirran strategically retreats for a moment until he can heal up.
  312. <Kirran> (I believe I'm at 5 hearts just now.)
  313. <DM> *You retreat to the side, though near the Iron Knight, you see Mutoh the Carpenter picking up a construction plank. He lifts it and strikes the Iron Knight from the backside!

  316. Successes: 13
  317. <DM> *The Iron Knight doesn't even turn to acknowledge the attack. The plank breaks against its armor like a twig. It slowly turns its head towards Mutoh, who's slowly backing away with his broken plank.
  318. * Hal taps into his soul and readies a Spirit-infused Nullify to put the Knight's attack on ice!

  346. <DM> *It uses its sword to strike its own shield, and it purges itself of the Numbed!
  347. <Hal> 21h 11m
  348. <DM> *It's about to strike Mutoh, when from behind, an arrow dinks its armor.
  349. <Hal> Uh-oh. That thing can shut down my disables
  350. <Hal> (How much armor did it have?)
  351. <DM> 26 - 16 = 10 - 15 = Zip damage
  352. <DM> *It seems to be pretty heavily decked.
  353. <Hal> (Oh boy. 10 Defense Dice + 15 Armor)
  354. <DM> *Thankfully, it seems there's only one of these guys. Looks like the leader of this attack.
  355. <DM> *From within the Shooting Gallery, the head honcho of it is drawing its attention away with a Bow and Arrows. He's a fine shot, too, but the Iron Knight's shield is proving to be tough to get through.
  356. <Kirran> Looks like we need to keep this behemoth occupied while the others evacuate.
  357. <Hal> At the very least we need to stall this thing
  358. <DM> [Shooting Man]: Hey! Get away from Mutoh, you big hunk of armor! Look at me instead!
  359. <DM> *From your angle, you can't quite see the archer, just that someone's firing arrows from inside the Shooting Gallery at the Iron Knight.
  360. <DM> *The knight lowers its stance, and dashes! You wouldn't think it with all that armor, but it's seriously fast.
  361. <DM> $52d10
  362. <Disco-Navi> DM: 3, 1, 2, 7, 2, 2, 1, 8, 6, 8, 6, 3, 6, 8, 2, 10, 10, 7, 7, 10, 8, 5, 1, 4, 1, 2, 7, 9, 1, 4, 1, 4, 6, 1, 8, 9, 7, 9, 2, 6, 9, 10, 7, 4, 10, 1, 7, 2, 6, 5, 1, 9

  364. <DM> *You hear a slicing sound, followed by the string of a bow getting snapped, followed by a moment of silence. Through your Spirit Vision, a soul within the Shooting Gallery has burned out and vanished.
  365. <Kirran> Dammit!
  366. <DM> *You hear the clanking of footsteps, and it walks out into the open. It turns its head towards you two, raising its now bloodied sword.
  367. * Kirran shouts to the civilians
  368. <Kirran> Get out of here! Now!
  369. * Hal racks through his inventory, looking for a good way to actually hit this guy
  370. <DM> *Anju has managed to gather her Cuccoos. She nods and manages to get away.
  371. <DM> *Just then, you hear a Bokoblin from the other side of the town screams something.
  372. <DM> *It's not a language you recognize, but for some reason, the phrase reminds you of the sound someone would make when launching a bomb...
  373. * Hal looks over to the Bokoblin on the other side of town.
  374. <DM> *Hal, you look over to see what appears to be really big slingshot, and they're able to launch a bundle of bombs. It's aimed at the big house next to the Well.
  375. <Hal> Kirran! We need to stop that Bobokin!
  376. <DM> *The Bokoblin screeches, and it launches the slingshot!
  377. * Kirran tries to hold the knight in place with magnetic gloves.
  378. <DM> *The bombs fly and arc into the air a bit. However, thanks to the rain, it gets weighed down slightly. The bombs don't quite reach their target, and there's a big explosion in the middle of the town.
  379. <DM> *Roll it!

  386. <DM> *You manage to hold the Iron Knight in place!
  387. <DM> [Raine]: Goood.... GOOOD... now suck its soul out! And feed it to a hamburger!
  388. <Kirran> Hal, it's up to you...
  389. <DM> *Hal, you see Kirran's got the Iron Knight held down, though you also see the Bokoblins across town readying up another shot.
  390. * Kirran puts everything he's got into keeping the knight pinned.
  391. <Hal> (To stop the Bobokins? Or to Wail on the knight?)
  392. <Kirran> (Reminder, I've got about 20 minutes before I have to bounce out)
  393. <DM> (got it)
  394. <Hal> (So do you want me to wail on the Knight Kirran?)
  395. <DM> [Raine]: Hey Kirran, I think I see something in the Shooting Gallery. Something other than Arrows...
  396. * Kirran grunts and does his best to shrug.
  397. <DM> *There's a wall between you and the inside of the Shooting Gallery, and yet Raine's able to see straight that wall.
  398. <Hal> (so no?)
  399. <Kirran> (I'm a bit stuck here Hal. Your choice)
  400. <DM> *Kirran, you're keeping it pinned in place, but you're not sure if you can hold it forever. Your Magnetic Gloves are starting to emit a wail of sorts...
  401. <Hal> (What can freeze the Slingshot?)
  402. <DM> (Well surely you could attack it. Or...)
  403. <DM> *You notice, Hal, they seem to have more bundles of bombs next to that slingshot. And it doesn't look particularly hard to handle either...
  404. * Hal aims a Scorch at the Bundles of Bombs next to the slingshot!
  405. <DM> *A pair of Bokoblins next to it are trying to math out the calculations, when...
  406. <DM> *Hal, lose 10 Dice for shooting across the town, and another 5 Dice for shooting a Fire Spell in the rain.
  407. * Hal augments his robe first
  408. * Kirran shouts to Guru-Guru.
  409. <Hal> $30d10
  410. <Disco-Navi> Hal: 1, 5, 10, 2, 6, 5, 9, 3, 10, 8, 2, 1, 9, 7, 2, 5, 4, 9, 6, 6, 3, 7, 7, 4, 5, 4, 6, 4, 10, 7
  411. Successes: 22
  412. <Kirran> Can you hit the knight with lightning?
  413. <DM> [Guru-Guru]: WHAT? MORE POWER YOU SAY?!
  414. <DM> *He revs up the cranking on his instrument and blares even louder.
  415. <DM> *Hal, your Scorch arcs through the town, seeming to fizzle out as it reaches the other end. However, just then, a passing-by Impa buffs the spell as it passes with her own Flare Up, reigniting it.
  416. <DM> *The Bokoblins have finally finished mathing it out, when the bundle of bombs next to them suddenly bursts, first into an explosion of light, then into mass destruction.
  417. <Hal> Rest in pieces spawns of Majora
  418. <DM> *The entire front entrance of Kakariko Village is demolished in a shockwave. One of the Chaos Boars is cleaved straight in two. The cliffside just crumbles completely, blocking off the entrance from more Bokoblin reinforcements. The bundle of bombs held in the hands of one of the Bokoblins ends up airborne, seemingly flying towards Kirran and the Iron Knight.
  419. * Hal then turns his attention to the bundle of bombs flying towards Kirran and the Iron Knight.
  420. <DM> *Right then, Guru-Guru's playing picks up steam, and you hear the crackle of lightning. Kirran, looking at the Iron Knight, his armor is starting to spark slightly.
  421. <DM> *Your Magnetic Gloves start to crack, and the Iron Knight begins to slowly move.
  422. <Hal> Kirran. Get out of the way. We're going to start some fireworks
  423. * Kirran waits for it.
  424. <DM> [Raine]: Hold on, I think there's a bundle of Bombchus inside the Shooting Gallery as well...
  425. <DM> [Raine]: I'mma go set em off!
  426. <Hal> (It should have been three rounds since the last time I got magic regen)
  427. <Kirran> Wait for it....
  428. <DM> (Get x3 Magic Regen!)
  429. <Hal> 21h 8m
  430. <Kirran> Time it just right Raine.
  431. <DM> *Raine zips inside of the Shooting Gallery, and you hear the revving up of Bombchus.
  432. * Hal fires a Lightning Scourge to electrically charge the bombs, blasting them to the Iron Knight!
  433. <DM> *The bundle of bombs is now beginning its descent towards you two. The sparking on the Iron Knight intensifies.
  434. <Hal> (For clarification, it should land behind the Iron Knight)
  435. <DM> (got it)
  436. * Kirran fires a black arrow at the iron knight
  437. <Hal> (Do I get bonuses for rain?)
  438. <DM> *You manage to end the Magnetic Gloves just before they snap.
  439. <DM> *Alright, Hal, roll... hang on
  440. <DM> *Guru-Guru's roll...

  458. <DM> (dear god)
  459. <DM> *It raises its shield, but your Black Arrows ignite and engulf it.
  460. <DM> *It's about to try and purge the Black Flames when two lightning bolts, one from Hal, and another from the very horn of Guru-Guru himself, collides in mid-air with a lightning strike from the sky, super powering the bundle of bombs. They paralyze the Iron Knight in place.
  461. <DM> *You see deathly lightning sparks fritzing from your lightning mega bombs. Nearby though, Mutoh is trying to get his carpenter friend out of there.
  462. <Hal> (Where is he?)
  463. <DM> [Raine]: I hear lightning, I HEAR RAIN! Wait, that's my name. Whatever, LET'S DO SOME EXPLOSIONS!
  464. <DM> *You hear the Bombchus begin their attack run.
  465. <DM> *Mutoh and the other guy are nearby Kirran.
  466. <Kirran> (Torgue Raine)
  467. <Hal> Something tells me that the knight's ending will be directed by Michael Bay...
  468. <Hal> Kirran, Mutoh and another carpenter are right in the range of the blast!
  469. * Kirran grabs both of the carpenters and use the cane of Lalakar to teleport out of range.
  470. * Hal rushes out of range, grabbing his hookshot out to get away from the supercharged blast by hookshotting something far away
  471. <Kirran> Might want to cover your ears, gentlemen.
  472. <DM> *You kindly teleport to the other side of the village with them both. Hal, you'll a fair distance from the to-be-exploded Knight, but you question- nevermind, you get far away in time.
  473. <DM> *Raine warps in from seemingly nowhere next to your new location, Kirran.
  474. <DM> [Raine]: I added cake to the bombchus. Should be fun.
  475. <DM> [Mutoh]: Oh, we're gonna let our ears experience this, full blast!
  476. <DM> *Time reasserts itself, and before the Iron Knight can react to it all, the combined lightning strikes of Hal, Guru-Guru, the sky, and the explosions of a supercharged bundle of bombs and a wave of bomchus ignites, dealing...
  477. <DM> 61 + 45 + another 50....

  483. <Kirran> (Cues up 1812 Overture)
  484. <DM> *There's a miniature black hole that seems to suck in the south end of Kakariko for just a moment, before blasting outwards into thousands of lightning sparks, which shred through the rubble like butter through bread. The grass in the area chars to black in an instant, and there's just a sizzle of smoke from what should be the south end of Kakariko.
  485. <DM> *All that remains are the hollow remains of an Iron Knight, and a blast radius of 100 feet.
  486. <Kirran> (I think this might actually be the biggest explosion we've ever pulled off on our own.)
  487. <DM> *It's just charred blackness.
  488. <DM> *All the rubble that would've shot outwards was incinerated in an instant.
  489. <Hal> It's gone... but I think we just added 100,000 Rupees to our bill for this town.
  490. <Kirran> Hey, it'll keep these guys working though.
  491. <DM> *Nearby, Impa appears, her eyes wide in shock. She turns slowly towards you.
  492. * Kirran nudges the carpenters.
  493. <DM> [Impa]: ... think it's dead yet?
  494. * Hal pokes the suit of armor
  495. <Hal> It's dead
  496. <DM> *Mutoh, though now deaf from the shock of the explosion, is now cheering and celebrating.
  497. <DM> *The suit of armor just turns to dust.
  498. <DM> [Mutoh]: YEAAAHHH, THAT WAS THE BEST! ALL THAT WORK WE SPENT ON THAT HOUSE WAS WORTH IT, JUST FOR THAT!
  499. <DM> [Mutoh]: Screw carpentry, I'M GOIN' INTO EXPLOSIVES!
  500. <DM> *Congratulations, Kirran, you've just inspired the New Bomberman 2.0.
  501. <Hal> (I thought Fran was the OG Bomberman)
  502. <DM> (Yeah, that's Bomberman 1.0)
  503. <Kirran> We aim to please.
  504. <DM> *All around you, the sounds of battle have finally worn down. The Sheikah are gathering everyone towards the north end of Kakariko, ready to climb the trail to Death Mountain.
  505. <DM> [Impa]: I would normally criticize you for your excessive force, but...
  506. <DM> *She looks down at a half-broken knife.
  507. <DM> [Impa]: Thank you for killing that thing.
  508. <Kirran> I only wish we could have saved everyone
  509. <DM> *She looks over at the remains of Kakariko, her hometown torn to shreds. Several bodies from the guards and some civilians remain in its ruins.
  510. * Hal sweats a little. Thanks. As soon as the war ends we will see to rebuilding the place.
  511. <DM> *She looks down, taking a few deep breaths, before looking up at you two.
  512. <DM> [Impa]: There'll be time for a burial after this war...
  513. <DM> [Impa]: Kirran, Hal... I can't thank you two enough. For you've done for the Sheikah, for me, and for Kakariko...
  514. <Hal> Even if we destroyed half of it...
  515. * Kirran goes into auto-follow mode
  516. <DM> [Impa]: It's not the town that matters, but its people.
  517. <Hal> I'm amazed that we saved most of the people
  518. <DM> *She bows towards the two of you.
  519. <DM> [Impa]: Good luck on your journey... and punch the smile off that darn Mask Man's face for me.
  520. <DM> *Kirran, in auto-follow mode, crackes his Golden Gauntlet's knuckles, and returns an auto-followed smile.
  521. * Hal nods to Kirran and his golden gauntlets. "Kirran will be sure to punch him to the dark depths of the Shadow Temple"
  522. <DM> [Impa]: One of our Sheikah has already confirmed, the path to Goron City is clear. We'll be fine the rest of the way.
  523. <DM> *She bows one more time towards you two, then departs with the remainder of the Sheikah and Kakariko Village's residents, up the hike to Goron City.
  524. <Hal> That's great.
  525. <Hal> It will be a fair distance between Hyrule City and Kakariko Village. Before we get there we will most likely to be overwhelmed by the Dark Forces. We might want to try and cut through Death Mountain if we can.
  526. <DM> (err, actually)
  527. <DM> *Hal and Kirran, the two of you receive a telepathic message. You recognize the dignified voice immediately...
  528. <DM> [Princess Zelda]: I've finally reached out back to you. You're the two shadows I spoke to, yes?
  529. <Hal> Yes, this would be correct
  530. <DM> [Princess Zelda]: I have unfortunate news. Lord Gustaf stole a pair of items before he left. You must prevent him from reaching Lon Lon Ranch, at all costs! It's the Medallion of Light and-
  531. <Hal> How much time do we have?
  532. <DM> *Just then, another telepathic message overrides hers, and you hear a creepy smile in your head as your spirit feels invadedd.
  533. <Hal> (It's going to be the crystaline armor)
  534. <DM> [Happy Mask Man]: Dear denizens of Hyrule. I would like to inform you that you will soon fall to my forces. Enjoy your stay, sleep the night away, and enjoy waking up the screams of your neighbor! Ta-ta!
  535. <DM> *The message ends, and you find yourself in a familiar void...
  536. <Hal> I guess new plan. I don't think we will have enough time to cut through Death Mountain. That path will take us to Hyrule City and Gustaf has already taken off
  537. <DM> *On the contrary, your new path will take you to-
